Reptar's Revenge

"I wish Angelica could have come with us," Stu said with a sigh as he, Didi, and Lou carried the kids through the carnival grounds. "She would have loved this."

Lou though shook his head. "Drew said that she was still bein' punished for that mess with the Clown Lamp. Though… don't let her know but him and Charlotte are plannin' on takin' her in two days. Let her think she's missing out on the fun for a bit more time then finally let her off the hook."

"That's nice," Didi said. While she wasn't happy that Angelica had caused Tommy so much grief (and from how he'd behaved recently upon seeing her she'd gotten the feeling it wasn't a one-off thing) she didn't want to girl to never have any fun again- "GAAAA!" She leapt nearly 3 feet in the air, startled by the horrible clown that had snuck up on her. Chuckie wasn't much better, curling up in her arms.

"Deed?" Stu asked, Tommy riding on his shoulders. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing!" Didi said quickly. But Stu kept prying and finally she admitted her fear of clowns.

"You think that clown was scary?" Lou declared. "Should've seen the clowns I dealt with back in my day! Heck, back when I was a kid me and my friends had ta kill a clown named Pennywise that was eattin' all the kids in the neighborhood!"

"Uh huh, sure pop," Stu said only to grimace when Tommy tugged on his hair. "What is it champ?" He looked over and smiled when he saw that Tommy was pointing at the guy dressed as Reptar, handing out boxes of cereal. "Want to meet Reptar buddy?" Tommy happily babbled and squealed, causing Stu to smile. "Alright, let's see Reptar."

"Are you sure, Stu? He looks rather scary…"

"He's not a clown, Didi," Stu teased, walking the kids over. The babies were enthralled with Reptar, Tommy reaching out and tugging on the guy's rubber hand, cooing happily before accepting the box of cereal like it was some grand treasure. He spent the rest of the night hugging it close, often looking down at it.

The entire night turned out to be rather fun. The adults took turns staying with the babies when they saw a ride they wanted to go on all by themselves. Lou took the babies on the Sleepy Lagoon while Didi and Stu did the Tunnel of love, while Stu got them all cotton candy while Lou took a ride on an octopus ride that left the old man rather green but still smiling. But probably the best part of the day was the carousel, with Didi holding Tommy on top of a pony, the baby screaming in utter delight as they went in the circles, the horse raising and falling the entire time.

Games were played, won and lost, food was eaten, and while Tommy didn't get to wander off he still thought the day to be the best ever.
