Stu-Maker's Elves

"15,000 dolls?" Drew said, wanting to confirm what his brother had said. "That's going to be a nice payday Stu."

"Don't I know it!" he said with a grin. "I couldn't have done it without you… after that creepy weirdo got arrested I thought I'd never find a buyer for Patty Pants but you really helped-"

Drew waved him off. "I just suggested a few people to contact." He and Lou smiled, thrilled that Stu was having so much luck with his latest doll. The Eggland Company had become interested in Patty Pants as they wanted her to be a new sister for their other baby dolls. "How are you going to get the order placed in time?"

"I've been working on an automated assembly line," Stu told them. "Automatically makes all the dolls."

"Gonna have it done in time?" Lou asked, a bit nervous. "Because if not I can help…"

"Thanks pop," Stu said. "And I'll take you up on that if I can't iron the kinks out of this within the next two days. Almost have it completed… worst case it can only get some parts of the dolls done and I'll need to do the rest. Might ask Howard to help… pay him a decent wage for a few hours or work. Or cut him a deal some other way-"

Stu blinked as the toy glider came flying overhead, landing on top of the machine.

"What the heck is that?" Lou said, confused. "That part of the process to get the toys made?"

"No pop, that's Tommy's new glider that Drew bought him." He reached up and snagged it. "Need to remember to close the basement door when I work, I guess. Don't want Tommy to throw a fit if this gets lost down here."

"I'm just glad he loves it," Drew said with a smile. He'd gotten it as a thank you gift for taking Angelica to the Grand Canyon. Drew took the toy from his brother and they headed up the stairs. "Now if you do run into problems let me know and I can direct you to some professional assemblers…"

"I will, thanks," Stu said. "I think I'll be fine but I'll remember that."

Drew reached down and lifted Tommy up, the baby giggling as his uncle made buzzing sounds and pretending HE was a plane. "Going in for a landing…" he proclaimed before tossing Lou the toy glider; Tommy's grandpa grinned and began to chase Tommy around with it. Stu, not wanting Chuckie to feel left out, picked him up and soon the house was filled with giggles and laughter as the babies engaged in a dogfight. It was the prefer stress relief for Stu and helped him clear his mind so that, hours later, he figured out what he'd done wrong with his machine and fixed it, churning out the Patty Pants dolls well before the deadline and netting him and Drew a nice profit.
