Toys In The Attic

Tommy smiled. His mommy and daddy were leaving for a few days and that meant they wouldn't be around to stop him from having fun! He was going to explore his grandparents' house and have fun adventures and they wouldn't be around to stop him! No telling him he couldn't eat what he found in the couch cushions or stopping him he from trying to climb tall things or anything like that! He was finally free! And he could have as much fun as he wanted!

Spotting a tall vase he wondered if there were treasures inside of it and instantly scurried to look inside…

Boris smiled, picking up Tommy just as he began to move to explore. While the two of them had been careful to take some of the more breakable things and store them away (remembering how energetic Tommy could be) there were still plenty of interesting and fun things Tommy clearly wanted to play with. "Come on then, little one. Let us get you settled in. Your mommy was in such a rush I bet she didn't even change you properly!" He carried the baby up to the bedroom to check his diaper, Tommy reaching out for the fun toys.

"As for you," Minka said to Angelica, "your mommy and daddy said they had toys packed for you?"

Angelica nodded. "Yes Mrs. Tommy's grandma." Her mommy and daddy had bought her a few new Cynthia toys to play with, along with new tapes for her walkman to listen to that she was looking forward to trying out.

"Well, why don't we take you to your room and you can show me them." She took Angelica hand. "Then you can help me decide what cookies we make!"

The weekend was rather… interesting… for Tommy. He'd thought he'd spend time playing with Angelica but she mostly listened to that funny music thingie she'd had when they went to the Graham Canyon or was with Grandma Minka making cookies and other treats. Tommy had some toys of his own and he did like getting the freshly baked cookies but… he had to admit it was lonely. His Grandpa Boris did play with him but often he'd go off to do something and leave Tommy alone. And at first it had been fun to crawl around the house but… it didn't feel too fun when there was no one to explore with. And more than that he found himself missing his house. And Spike.

And his mommy and daddy.

He missed the songs they'd sing while feeding him. And how they gave him a bath and used his favorite washcloth. And when he got a booboo on his finger he'd cried but they hadn't come because they weren't there and by the time he saw Grandpa Boris again the booboo didn't need a kiss anymore…

It was a much more appreciative Tommy who greeted his parents with a squeal when they came to pick him up.
