Gold Rush

Chuckie sighed, sitting on his bottom as Angelica filled the pail full of sand, his friends just watching. "Okay Angelica, just get it over with."

"Get what over with, Finster?" Angelica asked sweetly.

"You know you want to dump that sand on my head so just do it."

"I would never do that."

Chuckie huffed. "Just get it done with."

"Well… okay!"

"no!" Tommy declared, stomping his little foot… which didn't do much because he was standing in sand. In fact it almost made him fall but he caught himself. "Angelica, you are NOT going to pour sand on Chuckie's head!"

"Oh yeah?" Angelica said threateningly.

"Yeah!" Tommy challenged. "I'm not gonna stand here and watch you hurt Chuckie no more!"

"You're barely able to stand as it is, baldly," Angelica said, giving him a light tap and causing him to fall onto his back. Tommy wiggled, trying to get up, only for Angelica to stand over him with the bucket. "If you don't want the sand dumped on Chuckie I guess I have to dump it on someone else…"

Tommy watched as the first few grains began to fall and did the only thing he could.

"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

"ANGELICA!" Didi cried out, hurrying over as Tommy screamed his little head off.

"Uh oh," Angelica said.

Didi stormed up, picking up Tommy and soothing him before glaring at her niece. "Did you shove Tommy over?"

"No Aunt Didi. I would never shove Tommy or think of pouring sand in his big crying baby mouth!" She gave an innocent smile only for her aunt to stare her down coolly. After a moment Angelica's shoulders slumped. "Time out?"

"Time out," Didi confirmed, setting her son down before grabbing her hand and forcing her to follow her back to the bench.

"Thanks Tommy," Chuckie said, helping Tommy up.

"Any time, Chuckie!"

Chuckie though turned to Phil and Lil. "Why didn't you help me though?"

"Well… we didn't want Angelica to pick on us either," Lil said.

"I kinda wanted to see her pour sand on you," Phil admitted.

"Guys!" Tommy scolded. "We can't do that anymore."

"Do what?"

"Not stick up for each other," Tommy said. "All the adults and the big kids and everyone else are always pushing us babies around and telling us what we have to do and can't do… we can't make things worse by not helping each other."

The twins shuffled at that, looking at their feet. "Even if it sounds funny?" Lil asked.

"Would it have been funny if Angelica did it to you?" Chuckie bit out in annoyance.

"But she…" Phil began only for Tommy to glare at him.

"If you won't help Chuckie then we'll never helps you two agains!"

"Oh… okay." The twins didn't like it as many times they did find Angelica's pranks funny when they were pulled on Chuckie but it was clear Tommy wasn't going to put up with it anymore.

And that meant they'd need to change.
