"I am so glad you talked me into this, Drew," Stu said as he popped the video into the VCR. "Converting the home movies was brilliant."
"Protects them a lot better and now we can have copies," Drew said as Stu moved to sit on the couch. Everyone was there, with the babies set up on a play mat off to the side where Charlotte was keeping an eye on them; she'd gotten a phone call from work and to keep from ruining the fun she'd volunteered to take first watch with the babies.
"I still say you should have invested in Digital versatile discs," Chas stated. "They are the wave of the future!"
"Uh huh, sure," Stu said with a patronizing smirk. "Now then, let us begin! Now this one I like to call 'Generations'!"
"Hey Tommy!" Chuckie said, pointing to the screen. "Doesn't that guy on the TV look like your grandpa?"
"Yeah, he kind of does!" Tommy said, looking up from the ball he'd been playing with. "But he can't be my grandpa, he isn't old." Tommy frowned. "And my grandpa isn't black and white!"
"Well, whoever he is he has a fun looking baby with him!" Phil said as the footage showed the man playing with a baby with a full head of dark hair.
"I remember this," Drew said. "This was when pop got us that swing set. Man I loved that thing!" On the screen Lou put baby Stu in a special baby swing while Drew happily propelled himself. The footage suddenly ended and now it showed Stu with Tommy from a few weeks earlier at the park.
"Tommy! You're on the TV!" Lil exclaimed.
"Wow!" Tommy said in surprise. "I didn't even know that was possible!"
After a minute the footage changed again to Drew when he was a baby trying to eat a cupcake only he ended up getting it all over himself. The adults laughed and the babies watched, entranced, as the pictures then changed to a tiny blond baby happily smearing cake frosting on her highchair.
"Heh, that dumb baby doesn't know how to eat cake properly!" Angelica said.
Charlotte, who'd finished with her call, reached over and picked her daughter up. "That 'dumb baby' is you, sweetheart."
"Get out of town!" Angelica said in shock. "I was one like Tommy there!"
"You sure were."
The babies all marveled at that. They didn't know that people could be babies before they were adults or even Angelicas! It was just madness!
Tommy frowned though, tugging on his favorite blue shirt which was a bit snug on him.
Did… did that mean he couldn't stay a baby forever?
Up in Heaven the blond creator rolled his eyes.
"Well, they'll do a spin off but then reboot you back to being a baby," he muttered.
"Blub?"
"Yeah, you actually become a character people like."
Dil's soul just glared at him.
