The Mysterious Mr. Friend

"Okay Tommy, which one do you like better?"

Tommy frowned as he looked at the three toys his daddy had set out before him. There was a teddy bear that looked kind of nice but he wasn't sure if he really wanted to play with him as he did have a lot of bears already. Then there was a colorful looking bird with a bright yellow beak. He certainly looked interesting and he did like watching birdies fly…

…and then there was the strange scary-looking clown.

Now Tommy wasn't scared of clowns like Chuckie. He normally found them rather silly and liked laughing as they danced about. But this clown… there was something very wrong with him. He had too big of a smile and it reminded Tommy of how Angelica would smile just before she hurt him or his friends.

Slowly edging away from the clown Tommy moved towards the biride.

"Hmmm," Stu said, jotting a note down on a piece of paper.

"What are you doing, Stu?" Didi asked, walking in.

"I've come up with an idea for a robotic toy doll for kids and I'm trying to figure out which design is best. I like the clown but-"

At that moment Tommy, moving to grab the birdie, accidently bumped into the clown doll, causing it to pitch forward towards him. Tommy's eyes went wide with fright as, to him, it looked like the clown was trying to grab him and eat him!

"WAAAAA! WAAAAA!" Tommy sobbed in fear, trying to crawl away as fast as he could. He didn't need any of the toys! The clown could keep them!

"Tommy, it's okay!" Stu hurriedly said, stepping into the playpen and grabbing the shaking baby. Stu rocked him back and forth and Tommy calmed but when he tried to set him down Tommy grabbed onto him tightly and buried his face in his shirt. "Aw, its alright." He nodded at Didi who quickly got rid of the clown doll. "Look… see champ?" Stu said, gently turning Tommy around. The little boy whimpered only to blink when he saw the scary clown was gone. "Just the teddy bear and the parrot. Which do you like?"

IT took about 5 minutes for Tommy to finally calm down enough to hesitantly reach for the parrot. Stu smiled and let him play with it for a while before, when Tommy got bored, he took it to his basement to begin work on making it the new body for Mr. Friend.

Over the next two weeks he tried out all sorts of things with the doll and Tommy. What he liked it to do (Dancing? Yes. Walking? Yes. Hugs? Not so much), what voices he liked (Silly squawky voice? Yes. High pitched rhyming voice? No no no), and all sorts of other things until he finally had the perfect baby tested toy.

The clown was thrown in a wood chipper by Lou.

He was used to killing clowns.
