The Odd Couple

Phil and Lil looked at each other as Tommy and Chuckie talked about spending a long weekend together. "Uh oh."

"What?" Tommy said, confused.

"You wanna tell'em Lil?"

"Nah. You should Phil."

The baby nodded and stood up. "See… if you and Chuckie begin livin' together you're gonna begin fightin' all the time."

"No we won't," Tommy said, reaching over and wrapping an arm around Chuckie. "Me and Chuckie are bestest friends!"

"For now," Lil said, standing up. "But soon you'll begin buggin' each other."

"First it will be the little things, like not likin' how Chuckie sorts his toys-"

"He likes his blocks sorted by shape and color," Tommy said, Chuckie giving a nod. "Nice and in the box."

Phil and Lil blinked at that, startled by the comment. "Uh… okay, then its fightin' over what cereal to eat-

Chuckie cut her off. "Tommy likes Reptar Cereal. We have a box just for him here."

The twins just stared at the two and after a moment Tommy and Chuckie began to giggle.

"Guys!" Tommy said, controlling his laughter. "Chuckie and I come over to each other's houses all the time! Chuckie has stayed at my place and I've stayed at his! Sure, this will be for longer but we've done this before."

Chuckie nodded. "Yeah. I mean sure, Tommy doesn't clean up the way I like all the time but that's okay… he tries his best and I show him how it can be a game!"

"And Chuckie sometimes gets scared by Reptar but that's why we'll watch the Dummi Bears instead until there is a Reptar Episode he likes!"

The twins considered that. "Oh yeah. I guess you two have stayed over at each other's houses before," Lil said.

"So… I guess this won't be a big deal."

"Nope!" Tommy said. "And hey, I've stayed over with Angelica at my Grandpa and Grandma's house and that was a lot different than staying with Chuckie! This will be a breeze."

And it was. The babies did hit a few minor rough patches where they disagreed on things but that would have happened even if Tommy wasn't staying the weekend. He just remembered that Chuckie was good when he came to his house for the night to try and adapt and so could he! And while he was obviously thrilled when his mommy and daddy came home he didn't mind the visit to Chuckie at all.

Up in Heaven Melinda frowned, looking at the blond creator who was holding Dil. "Huh. That was… different."

"Yeah, for once the parents did the right things. Well, maybe they should have prepared for Chas to watch Tommy a bit sooner than the day before but close enough. It was for once the babies being stupid."

"…you like insulting infants, you know that?"

"Cut me a break, normally I'm stuck in Yu-Gi-Oh! dealing with Joey Wheeler!"

Dil blew as raspberry.

"Yes, you are smarter than him."
