Dust Bunnies

"Dust… Dust Bunnies?" Chuckie whispered nervously as he watched Tommy's daddy walk away.

"What's wrong, Chuckie?" Tommy asked, looking up from the teddy bear he was playing with. "You know what bunnies are! They are soft aminals with white fur that like carrots!"

"Yeah…" Chuckie admitted only to shake his head. "But if they are so nice why are your mommy and daddy so worried about them!?"

"You dumb babies!" Angelica complained from where she was playing. "Dust Bunnies aren't real bunnies!"

"They aren't?" Tommy asked, tilting his head in confusion.

"No. They are when fuzzy stuff and dirt and other yucky things get lumped together and create gray balls of fuzz."

Tommy blinked at that. "Well… that doesn't sound bad at all!" He giggled, throwing out his arms. "I loves fuzzy stuffs and dirt and yucky things! Those are somes of my favoritest things ever!"

"Well, say goodbye to them because they are going away!" Angelica giggled and went back to playing with Cynthia.

"No more fuzzy yucky things?" Tommy asked in horror. He quickly looked at his friend. "We have to save the Dust Bunnies, Chuckie!" Tommy exclaimed. "We can't let my mommy and daddy get rid of them! Come on!" He began to jump up and down, trying to reach the latch to the playpen. But just like all the other times he'd tried to do so he failed, the new playpen simply too tall. And he didn't even have his studriver to help!

"Hey champ, what's going on?" Stu asked, seeing Tommy bouncing up and down. Tommy, seeing the duster in Stu's hand, began to point at it urgently. "Oh… I know what you want to do! You want to help! Well, I have an idea…"

Ten minutes later Chuckie and Tommy were staring at a shallow pan of soapy water, the carpet now covered by a tarp.

"See Tommy," Stu said, taking some of the plastic toys in the playpen (he'd removed the cloth ones) and dunking one of them in the water. "You can give your toys a good cleaning, just like mommy and I are doing with the house! And here is a rag and a brush to scrub them!" Stu showed them what he meant, using a Reptar doll.

Tommy stared at the soapy water before letting out a giggle, instantly forgetting all about the dust bunnies in the face of this new game. He ducked his blocks and his fire truck and a bunch of his other toys into the pan, getting them soapy and wet before he began to scrub them. It was like giving his toys a bath! And his mommy and daddy didn't care how much he and Chuckie splashed about!

As such the two spent the rest of the day cleaning their toy while the Pickles gave the house a deep cleaning to remove the dust that would aggravate Chuckie's allergies.
