181. Family Tree Part 1

The Family Tree Part 1

"Oh, what are we going to do?" Charlotte bemoaned, getting off the phone and shaking her head. "If this merger doesn't go through its going to ruin the company."

"You'll just have to go over there," Drew said. Charlotte couldn't tell him everything, due to legal issues with the company and the contracts, but he knew there had been an issue with a Japanese company that was looking to join with Charlotte's. "You can book a flight out for tomorrow morning and get it handled."

"But what about Angelica? You already agreed to watch Tommy…" Stu had gone to his brother and asked if he could watch the baby for a week while he and Didi went on a cruise to celebrate their wedding anniversary. Lou would normally do it but he was on a fishing trip…

"Dang gum it, why are ya folks messin' around in this here lagoon?!" Lou snapped, standing up in his little fishing boat. "My friend Gil calls this place home and ya young idjits are wreckin' things with your experiments! Get!" Lou waved at the scientists who, sadly, turning their boat around and puttered off. "They're gone, Gil."

With that the Gill-Man popped up beside the boat… and held out his hand for a beer, Lou happily giving him one.

Because sometimes humans were the real monsters.

"I'll be fine!" Drew said with a laugh. "Its not like I have all the babies. Phil and Lil will be with Betty and Howard visiting Howard's dad at his mansion and Chas' parents are in town to watch Chuckie while Chas works on the family tree so you know they'll want to spend all their time with him. It will be just Tommy… just means a few extra hours in the evening."

"I suppose you are right," Charlotte said. "And there are the Carmichaels… they would always be willing to help out, if need be."

"Exactly," Drew said, giving her hand a comforting squeeze. "I got this Charlotte…" He paused. "Though… maybe you'll owe me…"

Charlotte smirked.

"Bye Tommy!" Stu called out, him and Didi waving goodbye. Tommy, held in Drew's arms, squealed and laughed in delight at the confetti going off. He didn't really understand what was going on other than he got to have an adventure with his uncle!

"Okay Tommy, Angelica," Drew said as he led them back to the car, "we're going to spend the rest of the day at home but tomorrow we're going to go to the park and go on pony rides."

"And after that I'm going to see Susie, right daddy?" Angelica asked.

"That's right. And I'm going to take Tommy shopping for some new clothes."

Tommy just continued to laugh.
