The Family Tree Part 2
"Thanks for bringing Tommy and Angelica over," Chas said to Drew.
"Heh, I was about ready to thank you," Drew said. "Don't get me wrong, I love having Tommy around… but without Charlotte around its tough to be a single dad." He smiled at Chas. "Honestly makes me appreciate you and all you do for us all the more."
"Aw, I just manage," Chas said with a blush. "But what I mean is my mom and dad really want to play with the babies. Honestly I think they are sad they never had more kids so they are trying to live out that fun through Chuckie… but he's only one boy. They just have too much love to give."
Drew watched as Chas' father lifted Tommy up. "Come on, let me show you the musical instruments I got Chuckie… we can have a little jam session!"
Meanwhile Chas' mom held out her hand to Angelica. "Would you like to help me make cookies?"
"What kind?"
"Well… all of them."
Angelica stared at the woman before giving her a hug. "You are my favorite adult ever!"
Drew chuckled at all that. "Well, glad to help. I just need to go to Charlotte's office and get a few files, I'll be back in 2 hours."
"Take your time," Chas said. "My mom and dad watched Chuckie so I got the entire family tree done! So now I have lots of extra time to watch the kids." He smiled as he saw Chuckie and Tommy giggling as they beat on little bongos that his father had gotten Chuckie. "Those two… if not for the red hair you'd think they were brothers."
"Yeah," Drew said. "I'm glad they have each other."

A deep boom sounded in Heaven.
"What was that?" Trixie said, looking about.
"The Doomsday Alarm," the creator said.
"…Doomsday?"
"Yup."
"The End of the World?"
"Kind of."
That made her pause. "What do you mean- oh. You are referring to Dil coming."
"Eyup."
Author's Notes: So I feel like I need to clear something up, before we get into Dil being in the series. There are those that believe I hate Dil. I do not. Ten Little Cookies should show I rather enjoy the character of Dil. My problem is that Dil, as he was used in the show, is a horrible character… because he isn't a character. I can think of only TWO episodes, Hello Dilly and Dil's Bathtime, where Dil couldn't be replaced with a teddy bear and the same plot happen. Dil should have been a chance to explore little babies and the move to becoming like Tommy and the gang while they, in turn, explored becoming toddlers. Its actually why I find myself loving the remake more than the original. Tommy is off the bottle. He is preparing to potty train. We see him at the start being barely able to walk while in the second season he mostly walks. And Dil is also slowly developing. The show… treated Dil as a plot device. And that is why he got away with being violent, greedy, and cruel. It is why so many fanfics have Dil act up and the parents go "He's a baby, he doesn't understand!" but hold Tommy to a higher standard.
So… I don't hate Dil. I hate the greedy little potato they made him to be, who was never allowed to have a personality beyond "I hit things and I poop". I hate the fact that we got nothing in terms of episodes centered around him where he was ACTIVE. I hate that he was allowed to do what he wanted, be mean and cruel, and was never punished.
If I had been in charge? Do some episodes from his POV. For example… Zoo Story. Do it where Dil doesn't know what the Zoo is and he thinks Tommy and his friends will be turned into animals. Have a dream sequence where Tommy turns into a monkey and Dil is horrified and he is trying to save his brother but Tommy doesn't understand. And in the end he learns to love the zoo.
I am going to drag him kicking and screaming into being a well rounded character.
