Mizuki stares at her younger brother, wondering where it all went wrong. Her brother, Fumikage, is laying on his bed, staring at the ceiling while listening to Teenagers by My Chemical Romance. She notes that he's mastered the thousand yard stare, but puts that aside for later. Sighing, Mizuki recognizes that realistically this is her fault, her tastes had probably influenced her brother's, and the least she can do is support her brother's transfer to the dark side.

Clearing her throat, she stands over her brother and taps him on the shoulder, "Fumi, dinner's ready, and mom and dad want to see your entrance exam results." Fumikage nods, an odd sight considering he has the head of a crow, and stands while turning off the music. While making their way out of the room, the younger Tokoyami sibling says something that stop his sister in her tracks, "Revelry in the dark."

Freezing for a few seconds, Mizuki facepalms and gives her brother an incredulous look, "Did you really just say that? Okay, Fumi, I understand the allure of living your life with Pierce the Veil vibes, but not everyone is going to be able to handle that. I'm not asking you to be Ariana Grande, but do you think you could raise it to a Panic! at the Disco? You should probably do that, for Hero work at the very least."

Fumikage nods, taking the words into consideration, before freezing and tilting his head to the side, "Sister, we do not even know if I was accepted yet." Mizuki scoff, "You're my brother, of course you passed. Isn't that right, Dark Shadow?"

The sentient, vaguely bird shaped, shadow being that shares a body with her brother emerges, "You're damn right! With me at his side, there's no way in hell Fumi would fail!" Mizuki nods, a small smile on her face, and pets Dark Shadow. Now, if it were anyone else, aside from Fumikage, the shadow beast might have threatened to rip her arm off, but Dark Shadow had taken a liking to her early on and actually seemed to enjoy her petting it.

Finally emerging from the room, the siblings descend the stairs and make their way to the dining room table. Taking a seat, Mizuki catches her reflection in a nearby mirror. Unlike her brother, she hadn't inherited and bird-like features, so she mostly appeared to be a normal human. She's tall, with paler than average skin and long black hair falling past the center of her back, and eyes that have irises darker than the pupils.

When the parents join their children, they eat and talk as normal for many families, but a quiet tension hangs in the air. All four of the Tokoyami family sitting at that table are eager, even if some don't show it, to see the results of the youngest's entrance exam. The boy is trying to enter into UA's Hero Course, as his sister had managed to do a few years prior.

When they finally see the results, they're pleased to find that not only has Fumikage passed, but he's also placed within the top ten scorers. There's much celebration that night, with Fumikage even receiving one of the highest honors in their family, a small smile and nod of approval from the stoic patriarch.

(UA, First Day)

Situated on the roof of a nearby building, Mizuki is watching Aizawa take his class of first years, her brother included, through his Quirk apprehension test. She has with her her closest friends, Togata Mirio, Hado Nejire, and Amajiki Tamaki.

Nejire, the friend she's had for the longest, having grown up with her, gently scoots over on the branch and pokes Mizuki in the cheek, "Hey, why are we stalking your brother's class? Are you going to cheat in his favor? Are you gonna make it harder? Are we gonna annoy Aizawa? Are we even allowed to be here right now? Did you get permission from Snipe-sensei? What are you gonna do if we get caught?"

Having known the blue haired girl for years, Mizuki is fully used to the rapid fire questions she spits out, and can answer them before her attention span runs out, "We're here to watch, there will be no cheating, we're doing our best for Aizawa to not notice us, we're technically allowed to be here since we're students, no I didn't get permission, and we'll get to that when we get to it."

Tamaki briefly glances over from where he has his face embedded in a wall, "I-I don't think I'll e-ever get used to her ability t-to do that…" Mirio chuckles, "Come on buddy, don't be so pessimistic! You're an adaptable guy! I'm sure with enough practice you'll be able to do it too!"

Looking back over to what's happening with Class 1-A, Mizuki sees a nervous looking green haired boy step up to do the ball throwing test. He pulls his arm back to throw it and… It shoots off with more force than when the exploding blonde threw it! Mirio lets out a low whistle, "Wow, that kid's got some power!"

Mizuki nods, but her attention is quickly drawn as the explosive blonde kid shoots himself at the green haired boy, ready to blast him to pieces. Her body moving without thinking, Mizuki charges out onto the training field from her hiding spot, her hands gesturing at the blonde kid like a puppet master manipulating his puppets.

The blonde boy's shadow quickly peels itself off of the ground and adheres to his back, halting his movement and forcing him to move according to Mizuki's whim. Crouching down and lowering her hands, Mizuki forces the explosive brat to lay face down with his arms behind his back. The kid screams and struggle to move, but remains still, "What the fuck is this shit!? Why the fuck can't I move?!"

Aizawa and the rest of Class 1-A turn to Mizuki, the teacher sighing as the Mizuki's friends come to join her, "Ms. Tokoyami, what are you and your friends doing here? Aren't you all supposed to be in class?" Nejire makes a thoughtful face, "Huh, I guess we got to it."

Quirk: Shadow manipulation

Allows the user to transform shadows into a solid substance that the user can freely manipulate. Seeing as the shadows under the affect of the Quirk become solid, they are no longer affected by light, but are incapable of casting their own shadows. Overuse causes the user's personality to become darker and more erratic.

Special move: Shadow Puppet

Allows the user to manipulate another person's body movements by applying their own shadow to their body. This technique requires immense concentration as well as both of the user's hands, so it is only worthwhile to use in situation where the user has the element of surprise. This move does not function well on those who can phase through matter, nor does it work on those with powerful strength Quirks, as the solidified shadows have middling tensile strength.
