Chapter 7

"Battle City Begins"

It was the big day, the first day of the KaibaCorp Duel Monsters tournament, Battle City. But outside of the Kame Game Shop, Sol was somewhat disappointed. "It's a sad day when an old man has to do his grandson's chores. He told me he has to prepare for the tournament. Well, I like a good duel as much as the next guy, but in my day, our jobs came first. But, seeing as I've done enough sweeping for today, I'll close the shop early and check the tournament out for myself." Sol said, clearly not happy that Yugi go a way out of doing his chores, only to turn right around and decide to check out Battle City. Up in Yugi's room, Yugi/Yami had just finished building their deck for the competition. "You've assembled a powerful deck." Yami said, proud of his young friend. "But what if its not good enough to win?" Yugi asked, worried. "There comes a time when there's nothing to do but believe in the deck you created. Yugi, this tournament is unlike any challenge we have ever faced before." Yami said.

"Right." Yugi responded. "The fate of the world depends on us, so you've got to be strong and trust in your cards." Yami continued. "But there's still so much we don't know." Yugi pointed out. "Our destiny will reveal itself when the time is right. According to Ishizu, an ancient evil force will threaten the world once again and you and I must defeat it, by winning this Battle City tournament, with this deck." Yami stated as he held out the deck. "If you believe in the Heart of the Cards, we can unlock the secrets of the past and save the world just as I had done once before." he continued. "Yeah! We can do this!" Yugi said, confidently. "Yes, we can, but it won't be easy." Yami pointed out. "I'm ready to face whoever or whatever we have to. You stood by me and helped rescue my grandpa's soul, and even the souls of the Kaiba brothers, from Pegasus, and now it's my turn to stand by you. I promise, you an I will work together to figure out your past. You already saved the entire world, like you said, once before. But there's a big difference between then and now; you had to do it alone, but this time you have me by your side to help you." Yugi responded, prompting Yami to smile. "Thank you." he said.

And so, the two merged together and Yugi placed his deck in the deck holder on his belt before strapping it on. Meanwhile, at the apartments of Twilight and her friends, they had just finished putting their decks together for the tournament. "Well, guess this is it. The big day. I know my friends and I are ready for this." Twilight said confidently. Spike, who was living with her, agreed. "Well, first day of work. I have feeling this is gonna be a bit more fun than working on my farm back home." AJ said with a confident smile before putting on her hat. 'I look like a deputy sheriff, if not a full-on sheriff, from the wild west.' she thought as she looked in a mirror. "Look out, Rare Hunters, Rainbow Dash is coming through!" Rainbow declared as she strapped on her Duel Disk. "Well, I guess it's time." Fluttershy said before looking at a picture of her and Yugi. 'I remember we took that picture just some time after we met Rebecca and her grandfather. She's the one who took it. I have confidence in you, Yugi. And in you, Yami. Just like you have confidence in me.' she thought before kissing the picture. "Well, this seems like an outfit that says; I'm ready to duel and uphold the rules of a tournament. It may seem like a police officer cosplay, but better than nothing. Plus, I'd love to see my Spikey-wikey's face when he sees me in this." Rarity said with a giggle as she tried on what was, essentially, a rather sexy police officer cosplay costume. As for Pinkie, she was bubbling with so much excitement that she looked like that she didn't sleep the night before.

Meanwhile, at Joey's apartment, he was trying to think of someway to get his card back. "I gotta think of a way to get back my Red-Eyes Black Dragon!" he shouted. 'I can't believe I let that creep, Seeker, take my best card. And right before the tournament even began, too. Seems like Serenity got all the brains in the family while I got the good looks.' he thought before realizing something. "Serenity! Speaking of brains, I almost let what happened to me distract me from checking up on her." he said before dialing Yonezato Hospital on his phone. "Hello, Yonezato Hospital, this is Dr. Nakamura." said a voice. "Dr. Nakamura, can you connect me to the phone in Serenity Wheeler's room? She's my little sister." Joey asked. "One second, please." Dr. Nakamura answered. "Hello?" said a male voice, one that Joey recognized. "Huh? Tristan?! What are you doing out there?!" Joey asked, angrily. "Oh, Joey. I was just talking with Serenity about you being in the tournament." Tristan answered. "You were? But what are you doing in my sister's room?" Joey asked. "Don't worry, I'm just keeping her company. Besides, I offered her to give her the play-by-play for each duel you compete in during the competition." Tristan answered. "You're the last thing she needs, Romeo!" Joey shouted.

"Hi, Joey. Why didn't you tell me that Tristan was your friend?" Serenity asked. "Oh, hey, Serenity. Guess I forgot." Joey answered. "He also told me he's learning to be a Duelist, much like you learned from a guy named Yugi." Serenity added. "He's not wrong, Yugi and his grandpa taught me everything I know about playing Duel Monsters." Joey confirmed. "Tristan told me that thanks to Yugi's teaching, you made it all the way to the Duelist Kingdom final round, but had to duel Yugi." Serenity continued. "That's right. Hardest duel of my life. But in the end, Yugi gave me the money to pay for your operation." Joey confirmed. "Hey, best of luck in the tournament, Joey. And don't forget about the new tournament rules Yugi and Twilight told you about a few days ago." Tristan said before hanging up. "Well, as long as he's telling her the truth. Now, to get into town and get the tournament started!" Joey said after hanging up. Meanwhile, in the sky above Battle City, fireworks were going off as Duelists flooded the streets, to the confusion of some of the adults who weren't participating.

"Bob, is that a new fashion trend?" asked one of them. "No, Dan. They don't look like a fashion trend, they're something else." another guy answered. "Actually, they're called Duel Disks." said one of the Duelists. "Duel Disks?" asked one of the confused adults. "They're part of the Battle City tournament that KaibaCorp is throwing today." said another Duelist. "So you and the other adults who aren't in the know about Duel Monsters can step aside, because the Duelists are taking over this city, and it'll be like that for the next few days!" said the first Duelist. Later, in Domino City Plaza, Yugi had just arrived there, and looking at a clear card with a puzzle piece inside. "This clear card was inside the box that had my Duel Disk. Looks like it could be part of a map. But where's the rest of it? Must be another new twist Kaiba threw into this whole tournament." he said before stopping by the clock near the center of the plaza. But then, a familiar voice called to him.

"Yugi!" shouted the voice. It was Mai. "Hey, Mai." Yugi responded. "Pretty big turnout for this thing. All tournament caliber and losers mixed together." she stated. "Well, there's a lot of Duelists here that I've never seen before." Yugi pointed out. "Admittedly, this is exciting. I wonder who's butt I should kick first in this tournament." Mai stated. Just then, Twilight and her friends came up. "Hey, Yugi. Mai." Pinkie said with her usual big, goofy smile. "Well, if it isn't the hyperactive life of the party. How are you doing, Pinkie?" Mai asked. "I'm so excited to start being one of Kaiba's enforcers that I couldn't sleep last night!" Pinkie answered. "I see. And you, Rarity, look like you're dressed to impress." Mai said as she saw Rarity in her police officer cosplay. "Call it enthusiasm if you must, but I mainly wanted to look the part of an enforcer for this tournament. Plus, my Spikey-boo likes it." Rarity answered before fluttering her eyes before her lover boy. "Yeah..." Spike said while blushing and scratching his head, bashful. "Hey, Spike, here's a tip. If a girl as fabulous and fashionable as Rarity wears something like that, don't you dare leave her side. Who knows, you might get more than a single kiss, if you get my meaning." Mai said as she gave him a nudge, causing Spike to blush harder.

"Yugi, I thought I'd see you buzzing around." said another familiar voice. Mai, Yugi and the others looked and saw just who it was. "Well, if it isn't Rex Raptor and Weevil Underwood. I thought I smelt something familiar." Rainbow said, annoyed. "I haven't forgotten how you played me for a chump-a-saurus at Duelist Kingdom, Mai. Now it's payback time." Rex stated. "And next time we duel, Yugi, you won't be so lucky. I have a new deck that's swarming with rare and powerful insects!" Weevil declared. "Those are large words coming from a small guppy." said another familiar face. "Mako Tsunami?" Fluttershy asked. "That's me. If anyone's going to be making any sort of waves, it'll be me!" Mako responded. "You think you'll win this tournament, do you?" Weevil asked. "Of course. There's nothing that can withstand my mighty denizens of the deep." Mako answered. "Sorry, but your sardines will be crush by my herd of dinos." Rex stated, confidently. "Don't be so sure. I have a new card known as Fortress Whale that's much more powerful than your Two-Headed King Rex!" Mako retorted.

"Just wait until you see my newest monster. It's a secret for now, but it's far superior to my Great Moth." Weevil stated. "Some Duelists just never change." Mai said with a shrug. While the three duelists from the Regional Championship a month prior continued to bicker and banter, over at the Almondo café, Seeker was looking up the info needed on Mai and Yugi, including their rarest cards. "Their rare cards will make excellent additions to my master's collection. Yugi's Dark Magician and Mai Valentine's Harpie's Feather Duster. The only question is, which card should I acquire first?" he said as he drank some tea. "We'll settle this dispute later once the tournament begins." Rex suggested. "Fine. I'll be waiting." Mako responded before they, and Weevil went their separate ways. "Well, Yugi, Spike, ladies, I think I'll head off. Remember, champ, next time we meet, we're rivals." Mai said. "Right." Yugi concurred. "And we better split up around the city. We'll cover more ground that way." AJ suggested to her friends. "Where Rarity goes, I follow." Spike said, holding his true love's hand while she smile and blushed. "I think I'll stand by around here." Twilight said. While Spike and the others concurred, most headed off to another part of the city. "Good luck, Yugi. To you, and Yami." Fluttershy said to her lover boy. "Thank you, Fluttershy. And good luck to you, too." Yugi responded before kissing her. "I love you!" Fluttershy shouted as she ran off. "And I love you, too!" Yugi called back as he watched her run off.

Later, Yugi headed up to the roof of a building with a small play park for children. "Kaiba should be announcing the start of the tournament any second now. But I can't find a trace of Joey and I searched almost everywhere in this part of town. I hope he shows up before this thing starts." Yugi said as he looked around. Suddenly, Yugi's search was interrupted. "Greetings, Duelists! Welcome to Battle City." said a familiar voice. "That sounds like Kaiba." Rex said as he stood in front of the Domino Museum. "Where is he?" Mako asked as he stood near the ocean. "Kaiba?" Weevil asked as he looked around the park. Even Mai and the girls were confused as to where Kaiba's voice came from. "Where's that snob's voice coming from?" Rainbow asked. Suddenly, overhead, everyone saw a KaibaCorp blimp flying above. "Well, I'll be. I knew Kaiba was rich, but to get a blimp with a screen to announce the start of this tournament?" AJ said in surprise. "It's time to put your dueling skills to the test. I hope none of you entered my tournament looking for friendly competition. Battle City is gonna be an all-out war! Before the tournament begins, I thought I'd let you all know what you're in for in case you want to back out now. Let's begin with my new Duel Disks. Everyone who I decided was good enough to enter received one. With it, you can duel anytime, anywhere. And, they contain a tracking device that allows me and my security team to watch every move you make." Kaiba said to the competitors down below on the street.

Most of the adults not in the know were surprised at how much tech, time and preparation had gone into a popular yet complex card game such as Duel Monsters. "Next, I'll discuss the most important rule of this tournament. The loser of each duel is required to fork over their rarest card to the winner, whether it be monster, spell or trap. If you don't have the guts to risk losing your best cards, then I suggest you forfeit now." he continued as he inserted his deck into his own Duel Disk and held up one of his Blue-Eyes White Dragons. "Bring it on, Kaiba!" Rex shouted. "So the more duels I win, the more rare cards I'll acquire for my deck." Weevil rationalized. "By the seven seas, I accept your challenge!" Mako declared. "Taking cards away from these losers sounds like fun." Mai said. "I'm wondering if that's the case for even the enforcers." Twilight pondered. "And anyone who's foolish enough can challenge me to a duel, because I'll also be competing in this tournament." Kaiba added. "Thought so." Yugi said, almost knowing that Kaiba was both the host and a participant.

"But don't get your hopes up, because I intend to win. And there's one Duelist out there I can't wait to defeat. You know who you are, Yugi Muto." Kaiba continued, almost warning Yugi of his intentions. "You're on, Kaiba." Yugi said, bravely. "And speaking of winning, only the eight best Duelists will make it to the finals, and they'll be held in a hidden location." Kaiba added. "Then how will we get there?" Rex asked. "No one will show up if the location is hidden." Mako pointed out. "If only all the Duelists knew where it was, like me and my friends do." Fluttershy said, hinting that she, Spike and her friends knew about the location of the finals. "In order to find the location of the finals, you'll need these Locater Cards." Kaiba explained as he held up the same sort of clear card that Yugi found in the box his Duel Disk came in. "You've each received one with your Duel Disk, but don't get too excited. Having one isn't enough, you need six to enter the finals. Every time you win a duel, you get a Locater Card from your losing opponent. When the six cards are put together on your Duel Disk, they form a map of Battle City and activate a global positioning satellite which will transmit the location right to you. But the tournament finals are a long time away and most of you will be eliminated long before that, because once you lose your one Locater Card, or however many you have as you progress, you're out of the tournament. Everything that I said and more can be found in the tournament rulebook. Just remember, only one player will win and earn the title of world champion, making them the number one duelist in the whole world." Kaiba continued.

"And that'll be me." Mai said, confidently, while Mako, Weevil and Rex also confidently said either of them would become world champion. "Now get ready, Duelists. It's time for Battle City to open its gates! Let the tournament, begin!" Kaiba declared. "Well, time to face our destiny." Yugi said before heading for the exit. That is, until, he heard another familiar voice. "Where are you, Seeker?!" shouted the voice. Yugi looked down and found it was Joey, angrily and desperately searching for Seeker. "Joey? What's he doing?" Yugi pondered. Down below, Joey approached his former opponent, who was busy looking up info on each Duelist and their rarest cards. Among them, Rex and his Serpent Night Dragon, Weevil and his Great Moth, Mako and his Fortress Whale, Bonz and his Call of the Haunted, Sid and his Firewing Pegasus and Zygor and his Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon. "Well. So much prey, so little time. Who shall I hunt first?" he pondered as he drank his tea. "Seeker! At last! I knew I'd find you!" Joey declared before Seeker looked up at him. "Didn't you learn your lesson?" Seeker asked his previous prey. "Yeah, never let someone in a cloak steal your cards!" Joey responded.

"Fool." Seeker responded. "Listen, you got my Red-Eyes Black Dragon, and I want it back! So I challenge you to a duel for it!" Joey declared. "I have no desire to duel you. I've already relieved you of your rare Red-Eyes Black Dragon, my hunt for your deck has long since ended." Seeker responded as he stood up. "Too bad, because I'm not leaving without my Red-Eyes Black Dragon!" Joey shouted. "Joey, what's going on!" Yugi shouted as he ran up. "I'd like to know that myself!" Twilight added as she, too, ran up. 'Yugi Muto, and that princess I've heard about, Twilight Sparkle. They each have a rare Dark Magician and the boy has the item my master desires.' Seeker thought. "That's the Rare Hunter who dueled me for my Red-Eyes!" Joey said. "Rare Hunter? He's one of the group of underground Duelists me and my friends are after!" Twilight shouted. 'I wonder if he's the guy who's after my Millennium Puzzle.' Yugi thought, quickly having flashbacks to his duel against Bandit Keith.

"Long story short, this guy owes me a rematch for my Red-Eyes!" Joey stated. "I already told you that you have nothing that could be of any use to me. But perhaps your young friend would be interested in becoming my next victim!" Seeker said as he closed his laptop. "It'd be a pleasure to duel against the King of Games himself, and snare his Dark Magician. Therefore, I challenge you to a duel, Yugi Muto!" he added. "Look, this is between you and me, got it?!" Joey shouted. "Don't, Joey. I accept your challenge, Rare Hunter!" Yugi stated. "But, Yuge..." Joey protested. "I promise I'll win back your Red-Eyes, Joey." Yugi interrupted before letting Yami take over. "So, do we have a deal, Rare Hunter? As my first opponent of the Battle City tournament, if I win, you must return Joey's Red-Eyes Black Dragon! And if you win, I'll hand over my Dark Magician." Yami stated. "Yugi, there's no way I can let you risk your Dark Magician! Twilight, you're an enforcer for this tournament, can't you do something?" Joey said, not wanting to see his friend lose his best card.

"I know how you feel. I'd hate to see this guy steal my own Dark Magician away, but there's nothing I can do." Twilight responded. "I'm telling you, Twi, you have to let me deal with this guy. I'd never forgive myself if my best bud lost his rarest card. Its my card he took, and..." Joey began to say, only for Yami to interrupt. "Thank you, Joey, but I must duel this Rare Hunter." he said. "He's right. Yami will HAVE to risk losing his Dark Magician, eventually. It's the first duel of Battle City, and the first step for Yami to fulfill his destiny." Twilight confirmed. "Then let's get on with this hunt already. The sooner I claim my prize, the better." Seeker said, slightly impatient. "I'm ready to duel whenever you are, Rare Hunter!" Yami declared. "Yuge, there's something you should know about Seeker..." Joey began to say. "I wouldn't if I were you. If you even think about revealing my strategy, if you say a word about how I defeated you, I'll tear your Red-Eyes Black Dragon to shreds! So I suggest you watch quietly and spare your commentary while I stalk the King of Games." Seeker interrupted.

"Fine then. A one-on-one duel is exactly what I want." Yami said with a confident smile. Meanwhile, Tea was searching for Yugi and Joey. "Fine day for me to pick to oversleep! How am I gonna find Yugi and Joey when the entire city's dueling?" she pondered. Back at Domino Plaza, the duel was about to begin. "Time to launch the Holo-imagers!" Yami shouted as said devices launched to the four corners of the area that was to be the battlefield while a crowd of people gathered, eager to see the first duel of the Battle City tournament. Soon, Seeker's Duel Disk launched its Holo-imagers. Both Duel Disks activating triggered a satellite up in orbit. "Detecting activation of Duel Disk battle system. Competitors; Yugi Muto vs Seeker. Beaming duel status to KaibaCorp mainframe." the satellite's computer said. Down on Earth, within the KaibaCorp building, Kaiba and Mokuba saw the first duel of the tournament was about to start. "How fitting that Yugi is competing in the very first duel of my tournament." he said. "More than that. We're getting data from all the other duels that are just starting as well. Our system is recording all the cards being played. If any player uses either of the two remaining Egyptian God cards, we'll know exactly where they are." Mokuba added

Meanwhile, outside of Almondo, with an equally confident "Let's duel!" from both players, and their life points set to 4000, the duel began. "I'll make the first move, now get ready." Yami said upon drawing. Seeker looked at his hand. 'Excellent, I already have two pieces of Exodia. When I have all five, I'll summon the almighty Exodia the Forbidden One and obliterate Yugi.' he thought. "Yugi, watch out for..." Joey began to say. "Silence, Wheeler, or say goodbye to your Red-Eyes forever!" Seeker interrupted. "To start off, I'll set two cards on the field." Yami said as he set two facedowns in the slots underneath the main monsters zones. "Next, I summon Beta the Magnet Warrior in attack mode!" he added as his first monster, a level four, Earth attribute rock monster with 1700 attack points and 1600 defense points, appeared. "Think you can handle my first monster?" he asked. On the sidelines, the adults from earlier were baffled, one of whom claimed Beta was a giant magnet with arms, legs and eyes. "That's a good description of the what you see, sir, but it's actually a Duel Monster. Its rendered in holographic 3D." Twilight explained.

"It's my move. And my first card will be..." Seeker began to say upon drawing. "Just as I expected, Graceful Charity. This allows me to draw three cards as long as I discard two." he continued as he drew and discarded. 'Perfect, I have the third piece of Exodia. Only two more pieces left.' he thought. "If you knew what was in my hand, you'd forfeit now and relinquish your Dark Magician." he claimed. "Never! I may not know what's in your hand, but my trap card, Light of Intervention, will reveal all your hidden monsters on the field! Meaning there won't be any surprise attacks from you." Yami retorted as his trap activated. But Seeker seemed unfazed. "It doesn't matter. I summon Stone Statue of the Aztecs in defense mode!" he said as his first monster, a level four, Earth attribute rock/effect monster with 300 attack points and 2000 defense points, appeared. 'So far, all he's doing is drawing cards and playing defense. He must be waiting for something.' Yugi thought before Yami drew. "It's time for your statue to crumble! By Battle City rules, I sacrifice my Magnet Warrior to summon the mighty Berfomet!" he declared as his new monster, a level five, Dark attribute fiend/effect monster with 1400 attack points and 1800 defense points, appeared.

"And he's able to bring forth another monster, Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts!" he added as his new monster, a level four, Earth attribute Beast with 1500 attack points and 1200 defense points, appeared alongside Berfomet. "But that's not all! Now I use Polymerization to fuse them together, forming Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast!" he continued as his new monster, a level six, Wind attribute beast/fusion/effect monster with 2100 attack points and 1800 defense points, appeared. 'That reminds me of the creature Applejack's sister, Applebloom, met that one time. Only it's got the head of a lion instead of a tiger.' Twilight thought as she gazed on the beast only heard of in Greek and, by extension, Equestrian mythology. "On my next turn, my Chimera will erode your statue into tiny pieces of rubble. Then, according to Battle City rules, once you have no monsters on the field, I can attack your life points directly!" Yami concluded. 'Forget about what he's got on the field, worry about what's in his hand!' Joey thought.

"Very impressive, but you'll need more than that to scare off this hunter!" Seeker said. "Yugi, please, you got to hear me out about this guy! That grin on his face is the same one he made when he beat me! He's got something in his hand that'll..." Joey pleaded. "Silence, Wheeler! One more word out of you and you can say goodbye to your Red-Eyes forever!" Seeker shouted. "I'll end my turn by setting a facedown." Yami said as he did so. "I predict I'll draw another Graceful Charity." Seeker said as he drew. "Well, what do you know, I was correct. Now, just as before, I draw three and discard two." he continued while making his move. 'How does he know what card he'll draw next?' Twilight pondered as Seeker looked at his hand. 'Excellent, I now have four Exodia pieces. I only need one more to summon the beast that will obliterate Yugi in one attack! He's about to lose his Dark Magician forever!' he thought. Meanwhile, the Kaibas continued to observe the duel.

"This Seeker is dueling well against Yugi. But something about him strikes me as, off." Seto admitted. "We have very little info on this duelist. He wasn't listed in your tournament database until about a week ago." said one of the technicians monitoring the duels. "What?! How's that possible?" Seto asked in shock. "He must've hacked into the system and added himself." the technician answered. "That's illegal!" Mokuba shouted. "He appears to be part of this underground criminal Duelist sect you informed us about, the Rare Hunters." the technician added. "We'll have him disqualified on the spot and have Twilight send him to the clink since she's there, right, Seto?" Mokuba stated. "No, wait." Seto responded, confusing Mokuba. "This is exactly what I wanted, and you and me did agree that Twilight and her little pep squad would act as enforcers to track down the Rare Hunters and have them prepped for incarceration by the Domino City Police. It's all going just as I planned and exactly as Ishizu suggested." he added. Meanwhile, the duel continued.

"Yugi, your Dark Magician is as good as mine!" Seeker declared. 'As soon as I draw the final piece of the forbidden puzzle, I'll summon the almighty Exodia and this hunt will be over! And with the help of some invisible ink and my x-ray contact lens, I know exactly what card I'll be drawing next! That being the left arm of Exodia the Forbidden One! On my next turn, I'll summon the one unstoppable creature in Duel Monsters and obliterate the King of Games!' he thought with wicked glee as his x-ray contact lens saw through the invisible ink and showed him exactly what he was going to draw from his deck next. "I think I'll strengthen my defenses, with Gear Golem the Moving Fortress!" he said aloud as his next monster, a level four, Earth attribute machine/effect monster with 800 attack points and 2200 defense points, appeared. "Even your Chimera's not strong enough to destroy it! What are you going to do now, Yugi? You can't beat me if you can't get by my defenses!" he concluded.

"You may be protecting your life points with stone statues and fortresses, but in order to win this duel you must attack me eventually. So what are you waiting for?" Yami retorted. "Oh, you'll find out, soon enough, Yugi. So go ahead, make your move. The hunter only strikes when the time is right." Seeker responded. "Yugi! I'm not gonna stand by and watch this! No way! I'm not gonna let you lose your Dark Magician because of or for me!" Joey shouted. "That's enough, Joey!" Twilight and Yami shouted at once. "You must not reveal Seeker's strategy. I will defeat him." Yami stated. "Besides, it wouldn't be fair." Twilight added. "She's right. You're my friend, Joey, and I'm fighting this duel or you, just as you would do for me." Yami stated. "He's right. Do you remember the time that Weevil threw Yugi's Exoida cards into the ocean?" Twilight asked, prompting a flashback between her and the two boys. "You risked your life to get them back, not just because Exodia is the most rare and powerful monster in the game, but because I was a friend in need." Yami added. But at that moment, Yugi and Yami both quickly realized what Seeker was up to.

'Exodia! That's it! Seeker's just drawing cards until he can assemble all five pieces of the forbidden puzzle!' Yugi thought. "I'm on to you, Seeker! I know your strategy!" Yami shouted, confusing Seeker. "This whole duel you've been planning to summon Exodia the Forbidden One!" he added, bringing a shock to both Twilight and Seeker. 'No! How did he figure it out?!' Seeker thought. "Thank you, Joey. You helped me figure out his strategy without actually telling me what it was." Yami said to his friend. "Just because you figured out my strategy doesn't mean you can stop me from succeeding! Everyone knows that Exodia is the most powerful and the only unstoppable creature in Duel Monsters. Just how do you plan to stop the unstoppable Exodia?" Seeker stated. "True, no one has ever defeated Exodia, but in order to win back Joey's Red-Eyes Black Dragon, I'll be the first." Yami retorted.

"Give up, Yugi! My hunt is near its end!" Seeker declared, knowing he was one turn away from defeating the King of Games and taking the Dark Magician for himself.
