He was passed out on the kitchen table when she found him.
May had gone out for the night - a rather miraculous feat she could only imagine Gwen had been working towards for months now - and the blonde and Bobby were asleep upstairs. Johnny was still out - he once told her that flying through the night helped him deal with things better. As for her, she was just getting back now.
Kitty's nights had been growing steadily more restless in the weeks since moving in with the Parkers. She knew it was dangerous, especially after everything that brought her here, but she couldn't help it. She needed an outlet, and hitting bad people was a good one.
She phased down from her room for a snack when she saw him. His head was resting on a textbook and by his hand was a notebook page littered with handwriting that she already knew their teacher wouldn't accept. It was actually kind of adorable, in an entirely pathetic, geeky way.
Careful not to stir him, Kitty picked him up bridal-style and hoisted him off the chair and into her arms. Were May here, he'd probably be in for a stern lecture in the morning - it was May who insisted he spend less time under the mask and more time focusing on school. A part of her thought to just grab her snack and leave, not wanting to become an accessory to his crime.
Instead, she contently smiled to herself and air-walked up to her bedroom with his unconscious figure clinging desperately to her sides.
