As Ianto came down the ladder into the cramped little bunker, Jack watched him avidly. He had a box tucked under one arm and Jack's mouth went dry as he considered the possibilities.

"Have I been naughty? Am I going to be punished?"

Ianto paused at the bottom of the ladder and set his box aside.

"Wouldn't you know if you'd been naughty?"

"Of course, but what I know doesn't matter, does it? If I'm going to get punished then you have to know I've done something naughty to deserve it."

"Your logic is weird."

"So am I being punished?"

"Not unless you've done something I don't know about."

"Oh, I've done a lot of things you don't know about." Jack leered.

"Recently? Like in the last twenty-four hours?"

"Oh." Jack's shoulders sagged. "Then no. I even finished my paperwork."

"There you go then, nothing to punish you for."

Jack pouted, disappointed, then he brightened. "You could make something up, couldn't you? Say I did it, and punish me for that!"

"That's not how punishment works, Jack, and I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to enjoy it."

"You're no fun."

Ianto held up handcuffs. "I could reward you instead."

"Yes!"
