A/N This is the episode Sleeping Beauty in their own words.

Hey, it's us again, Duke and his friends from the previou story. We tell the rest of the story now. I, Sir Handel, start. Duke tells the part after he's been found.

After we young engines went to our new railway after our old one closed, Duke was left sleeping in the shed. As he slept, everything around him changed. But Duke was never forgotten. Years went by until one day not long before Thomas told our story to his friends at their shed, visitors came to see Sir Topham Hatt.

"We want to find Duke," they said. "and make him happy again.". Maps lay everywhere. "If we follow the old line shown on the map," they said. "we'll travel north of the village and then into the mountains. And look. There's a sign for the old station. If Duke's anywhere, he's there."

Everyone set off to the mountains far away. The days went by, the search grew harder, but the rescuers never gave up. They traveled Arlesdale Railway with the miniature engine Bert, because that railway covers 10 miles of Mid-Sodor Railway, our old railway's name.

"Let's go this way," they said. But there was still no sign of Duke. "He's here somewhere," they said. They scrambled over hills, struggled over ditches. At last their search ended, quite by accident. One of them stepped on the ground above the old shed and fell through the roof. "We found him! We found our sleeping beauty!" Now, it's Duke's to tell.

"Excuse me?" I inquired. "Are you a vandal? Driver told me vandals break and smash things.

"Bless you, no," laughed the rescuers. "We dropped in because we couldn't find your door. Falcon and Stuart will be pleased to see you." I wondered why they said "Bless you" at first. I didn't sneeze and they didn't either. My old driver and fireman made sure my smoke-box wasn't all stuffed up before they put me under that sheet. I was sound, but all dirty and covered with cobwebs.

"So they did remember!" I sighed happily. I wanted to cry a little for joy, but I was dry.

Then, we all set off for my new home. Stuart and Falcon were ready for a big welcome.

"He's here!" they whispered. "Shh! Shh!"

"You woke me up!" I grumbled. "In my young days, engines were...

"Seen and not heard, Granpuff, we know.

"We're all going back to work tomorrow. We're glad you've come back. We can keep you in order now."

"Keep me in order?! Be off with you! Impudent scallywags!"

But my old eyes twinkled and for the first time in years, I smiled as I dozed in the sun. I learned my friends were renamed Sir Handel and Peter Sam, but they were still the same as they ever were, calling me Granpuff.

A/N Duke's personality means he's not as easy for me to write, but I tried. Respect my Thomasverse.
