The Cave, Gotham City, New Jersey, United States of America

Beneath Wayne Manor lies a cave system. Long forgotten. But that was until a young man wanted justice. Building a base into the stone walls, he began his quest to dissolve the Court of Owls. That is, until the night of the forth. When an unexpected event happened. Several thousand people nearly died. All because of a Meta. At least that what Bruce had thought at first. Until news reports came in. A smoke trail in Montana, military convoy attacked, a B-52 damaged, the British Museum in ruins. Sightings of Blue creatures just like the one at Kane's facility.

From the samples he got from the creature, he was able to find out it wasn't human. Not even a Meta. There are proteins, cells, and chromosomes never before seen. What their purpose is unknown to him, but it was clear that they could possess humans. But the outcome is deadly for the host. As he looked into the possessed employee records, the old Underground Railroad elevator lowered down. It could only be one person.

"Master Bruce, have you've been up all night?" Alfred asked. Looking at the time, he realized what the time was. He hasn't slept since the fight.

"I need to strike the Court soon. Get more evidence. Not to mention the attack." Bruce said, turning the news feed on one screen. The butler stared at the screens, learning of the attacks.

"My lord." Al whispered.

"We're at war, Al. And these things are at the center." Bruce said showing the test results from the samples.

The butler looked at them confused. The old man had a background in Medicine. Much more than the young hero. Going back to the research, he tried to find out when the creature possessed the employee. But he couldn't. They lived alone, high crime area, and surveillance camera were constantly sabotaged. It seemed that this trail was going cold. Bruce leaned back in his chair, thinking.

"What are you planning to do?" Al asked.

"When Triumph was revealed to the public, the military welcomed him with open arms. That's because he was human."

"You don't think the military is responsible?"

"No, but when they had Superman. They hid him. Guess the difference." Bruce asked, puzzling the butler. Then it clicked.

"You don't think that he had something to do with these?"

"Yes and no. They aren't human. He might not be human."

Lex Corporation Tomorrow Facility Construction Site, Metropolis, Delaware, United States of America

The city gleamed with beauty as Kal flew over the streets. The people cheered for the hero. He was welcomed here. But he knows how close they were to destruction. He could hear the talks at the White House. Because of agreements he promised not to do such a thing, but after the world almost went to a nuclear war, he had to ignore the promise. They talked of more attacks. Possible war. But he was no where close to answers. Which is why he was here. Lex's new building. A pyramid building in the heart of Metropolis. Overseen by the man himself.

Landing in the courtyard, crew workers waved. He waved back, shyly. Walking towards a large trailer with Lex Corp's green logo on the side. He listened to the grains of dirt, rolling over each other. A rough, piercing sound, but calming to the superhuman. Stepping on the staircase, he heard the squeaks of the wood. Opening the door, the businessman was on the phone.

"Okay, make sure the first batch meets the deadline. We need the M-70 to thrive before cancelation." Lex said before noticing Kal. He raised a finger, telling the superhuman to wait. "Okay, and find out when Kane is going to deliver those missiles for test runs. Thank you."

"Lex, we need to talk."

"Sure what?" Lex said handing up the phone.

Kal began to explain everything. From the fight in Montana to what he learned from the White House. His friend listened carefully. Glaring at the idea of him breaking the promise with the government. Once the conversation was over, the businessman leaned back in his chair. Taking in everything he just heard. Noting the superhuman's expression.

"There's something else?" Sighing, Kal knew he couldn't keep the secret.

"One of the beings called me a Kryptonian. I don't think they were human."

"What you mean?" Lex asked, leaning forward.

"I think they were alien lifeforms. And I think I might be one too."

The human rubbed his chin. This could be their first real path to finding out Kal's origins. Ever since the lab was destroyed. A glimmer of hope hummed in the alien's chest. For once, he can find out why he was hidden away. Lex grabbed the phone.

"Let me make a few calls. Get to the bottom of what's going on. Keep an ear out for trouble." Lex said. Kal smiled and nodded. Walking out, he felt warmth throughout his body. Despite the darkness, he has a chance to find out who he is.

"Yeah, well, screw you too." Eddie said before slamming the phone down. Leaning back, he rubbed his eyes. He has been calling about every government agency trying to find out more on the convoy. There wasn't any record on it. He only knew about it because of 911 calls. If it weren't for that, the thugs might have gotten the cargo. He knew that he was going to catch flak for this, but something is off. The CCPD didn't know about this until the attack. A major communication error between agencies. A beyond rare error. As he started to dial up the local NSA number, Captain West marched through the rows of desks. Putting the phone down, the detective looked at his CO.

"Thawne, care to tell me why I just had the FBI on the phone." West asked rhetorically.

"They wanted to say hi and keep doing a good job." Eddie said, getting ready for a rip.

"The convoy isn't our jurisdiction. That's the Feds. You did your job. Now you can go over your cases."

"But sir, something is going on. I can feel it."

"Not your choice. It's out of our hands." West solemnly said. He left, leaving Eddie more determined.

Koa lifted a metal beam, carrying it away. Local Martian Manhunters helped with the cleanup. Burying the dead. He had confirmed this to be a Daemonite warship. But why were they this far from their sector of space. From his understanding, they were several thousand sectors away. As he lifted a section of the hull, a green dot appeared in the sky. Smiling, the Lantern flew up to greet the newcomer.

"Hey Sarge. Thanks for coming." Koa said as he shook Sergeant Kilowog's hand.

"How you're doing, Poozer?" the Bolovaxian asked. Handing the human their lantern.

"Alright you?"

"Good. Now explain to me why you broke regulations." the sergeant asked, folding his arms.

The human put his ring to the lantern's opening. Saying the oath, he wondered how to tell the Bolovaxian the truth. Why he kept his lantern on Oa instead of his residence in his sector. Taking a breath, he had to chew off the Orben Bark. Looking at his drill sergeant, a sense of dread swept him.

"Back on Earth, I have no home. Rhelasia was all I knew, and it was hell. The rest of the world hates Rhelasians. I am an enemy." Koa confessed. Kilowog put his large hand on the human's shoulder.

"Kid, I don't know much about Earth, but I do know that it's been years since you left. Maybe things changed."

"Yeah, maybe." the human said. The Bolovaxian retracted his arm and looked at the wreck.

"What happened here?"

As they flew down, the human gave the Sergeant a report. How he ordered the warship to retreat. The pods, the battle, and the Daemonite nanotech. Both were in agreement. This was too far from their occupied space for an attack. It just didn't make sense. Something was going on. As the Bolovaxian examined the remains of the warship, a G'arrunn Manhunter flew over with a data disk.

"Green Lanterns. We discovered this data disk in the Bridge." Manhunter J'onn J'onzz said. Koa still found it weird for Martians to communicate telepathically. Kilowog grabbed the disk, playing a recording.

"Primary mission objective. Infiltration of Sol Four. Secondary mission objective. Eliminate Sol Three satellites. Await further instructions." a robotic voice ordered. The three men looked at each other. These were military orders. With Earth being their next target.

"I'll report this to the Guardians. You better check up on Earth. This is unusual behavior for the Daemonites." Kilowog said and the human nodded. Both Lanterns soared to the stars, going their separate ways. Koa wondered what his home was like now. If it had changed.

Shayera grabbed a beer from her apartment fridge. Listening to Garth Brooks. She found that this world music was better than that of Thanagar's orchestra and military marches. For all these past years, the woman has enjoyed her new life on this world. It had so much to offer. While its technology wasn't as advanced as her old home, its culture surpassed everything in the cosmos. The environment was unique. Proving that the humans can adapt better than any species she has seen.

Opening the bottle, she sat in her chair. Turned off the radio and switch her TV to Law & Order reruns. She took a drink of the cold, bitter-sweet beverage. It reminded her of Kolax XX, but better. Just one more item that surpassed all she knew. As time went on, a knock on the door, started her. Grabbing her mace as a precaution, she walked to the door. Looking into the peephole, she saw a man in dark armor kneeling down. Holding something in his hand. Backing up, she saw a little wire poke out from the floor. This was a raid.

Smashing her foot down on the wire, she heard whispers from the hall. The door burst open, falling towards her. She grabbed it forcing it forwards. Dragging some men forward. In the hall, she pushed a soldier's rifle to the side. Smashing his face with the mace. As he staggered back, she grabbed the broken door. Tossing it towards the colume of soldier, she flew into the apartment. Crashing through the window. Feeling glass cut her skin, she raced away. Gaining speed an attitude. She now hunted. Why? There was only one reason.

Beeps broke the silence of the room as they help Barbara heal. Most of her wounds were healed thanks to the gods, but her brain was damaged in the attack. Diana sat in a chair thinking of what she could have done. Thinking of what those creatures were. They weren't human. Nor anything from Olympus or Hell. Perhaps Echidna offspring. But she doubt it. These weren't of the old world. They are something else. Closing her eyes, she gave a silent prayer for answers. Not expecting much. They haven't pay attenction to Earth for several thousand years. But to her surprise a hand touched her shoulder. Startled, she looked up expecting to see the doctor. Instead, she saw young man in decorated Atlantian armor.

"Lord Triton." she said, kneeling down.

"Princess Diana. A pleasure to finally meet you." Triton, son of Poseidon said. He extened his arm out. Accepting it, the room became darker. "As far as the mortals can see you are asleep in that little chair of yours. But we got much to discuss."

"Is this about the creatures?" she asked as the two walked in the dark realm.

"This has everything to do with them. Normally Olympus would act, but we got our own problems. Just me being here is a risk."

"What are those things?"

"That I don't entirely know, but they aren't alone. Even as we speak, they are setting up for war. A war that the Earth can't survive alone." as he finished the sentence, a rumbling echoed the darkness. He cursed before grabbing her arms. "You must get the weapon they stole. I'll leave an image in your mind. Go there. Stop them. It's your only hope."

The darkness soon broke into cracks of light. A low voice said his name in anger. She clentched her fists ready for a right. But she appeared back in the hospital room. Rushing out, her mind race through the conversation with the young god. The image he left was of a fountain. The Brandenburg Gate followed. She knew where to go. The best chance she has to save the world.

A single desk light provided a soldier with light as he shuffled through records. He was given a task. Save the world from a grave threat. That is his mission. Yet he has no idea of what to prepare for. Throughout his years, he had fought in wars. Protecting civilians whereever he could. Making sure his men get home alive. But this was something else. Unknown Metas infintrated the US military, nearly causing billions of deaths. As he flopped a folder down, a gentle hand rested on his shoulders.

"How you doing?" Megan, his beautiful wife asked.

"Fine. Fine." William said. She sat next to him, not believing the hero. Gripping his arm, she whsipered.

"Something bad happened?"

The soldier didn't need to answer for her to know. His silence filled the room. Looking at the files, he found a Navy SEAL. Served eighteen missions. Good man. But for some reason something was telling him not to bring the SEAL onto the task force. What they were facing was beyond any kind of military training. Closing the file, he tossed it into the growing pile of dismissed soldiers. Sighing, his wife brushed her hand against his cheek.

"Whatever is going on, you will find the right people. Trust your instincts. They kept you alive this long." she said. He smirked remembering the instincts from Corto Maltese. He got powers, saving his life. It's how he kept on going. Just follow his instincts.
