A/N: Double drabble.
Before it had learned how to waterproof its long, thick fur, Nosy had avoided contact with water at all costs. The Fluff still needed to drink in order to stay hydrated, and the team kept its water bowl clean and filled so it could have a slurp in between cups of coffee, tea, fruit juice, or whatever else it fancied. Wet weather, however, meant staying indoors, and its personal hygiene requirements were dealt with by grooming, or rolling in dry sand.
Mastering the art of waterproofing had changed many things. Nowadays, Nosy could comfortably go outside in the rain, as long as it wasn't coming down too heavily, and could slink across wet ground without becoming waterlogged. It could play in the snow, slither at the water's edge on trips to the beach, even take a shower if it wanted, although sand was infinitely better for keeping its fur in good condition than water would ever be.
Sadly, one thing Nosy still couldn't do was swim. It had tried the last time the family had gone to the beach, letting the ebb tide pull it into the shallows, where it had promptly sunk.
Fluffs simply weren't designed to be buoyant.
