"It's not really haunted, is it?" Owen cornered Ianto in the kitchenette, where he was washing up after lunch. "I mean, you were 'aving me on earlier, right?"
Ianto raised an eyebrow. "Why would I do that when you've so kindly volunteered to man the Hub while Jack and I go out? I just thought you should know what you'll be getting yourself into if you stay here by yourself on Halloween."
"But there's no such thing as ghosts!"
"If you're so sure of that, what are you worried about?" Ianto handed Owen a tea towel, amused when the medic automatically started drying dishes.
"I don't believe in the supernatural."
"You're lucky. After everything I've seen, I don't have much choice."
"So you're sayin' you've seen a ghost?"
Pouring the washing-up water away, Ianto turned to lean against the sink as he dried his hands.
"More than one. A lot more. Some of them aren't a problem, they pop up now and then, usually in the archives, or the vaults, but Halloween brings the worst ones out. You know that before Jack, Torchwood's previous leader killed his team and then himself?"
Owen nodded.
"Enjoy tonight's re-enactment. It's quite a show."
