Chapter 52: Home Visit
Hospital…
It had been two hours since the fight.
"Don't worry, sir." A doctor said as he looked over paperwork while talking to Moxxie and Verosika. "Your family will be discharged by tomorrow morning. Just make sure your wife takes it easy until the bullet wounds and stab to her side heal. Your son wasn't injured that badly either."
Verosika (In disguise) and Moxxie visibly sighed in unison.
'Thank goodness.' They thought as Verosika accepted the paperwork, starting to sign it.
"I appreciate you footing the bill, Verosika." Moxxie said with an apologetic thanks.
"It is no problem." Verosika said as she continued to read and make sure she wasn't being scammed. "It is the least I can do… after all, I didn't…"
Verosika's eyes saddened at the thought of what she did, even if it was an order.
She didn't stay and fight the Gecko, instead, she fled when Naruto ordered her too.
"Hey…" Moxxie said as he took Verosika's hand, gently squeezing it. "Naruto and Millie would NEVER blame any of this on you. Besides," Moxxie smiled. "If you didn't leave, then Millie could have died…"
Verosika felt an ease in her soul, accepting these words.
"Thank you, Mox."
"Hey, that's my line." Moxxie replied, slightly flustered.
Just because he was getting to know Verosika, she was still a popstar.
Meanwhile…
Bandaged, Naruto and Millie sat in their shared room, the tv on playing some show they were ignoring.
Millie, having suffered worse injuries, was unable to move from the cast wrappings around various parts of her body while Naruto was moderately wrapped up, but mobile.
On the bedside table was Melani's tail.
"And there…" Naruto said as he finished cutting an apple, taking a piece and eating it before grabbing a piece. "Here, say aw."
"Aw…" Millie said, unable to hide her smirk as Naruto fed her.
"You know, I knew you were strong from our training sessions," Naruto said with pride as he looked Millie in the eyes. "But HOT DAMN, Mom, you were… you were… What's wrong?"
His pride was replaced with concern at the look on Millie's face.
Instead of the should be shared pride, Millie held… contempt.
"You know…" She said with a chuckle, a faint smile gracing her lips. "I am nothing special."
"What?" Naruto asked, head tilted in confusion, his ears following gravity. "Now, that isn't…"
"I was born in Wrath." Millie interrupted, gripping her blanket as best she could.
"What does…"
"It is normal for me to be very good at kicking ass," Millie continued. "We have to be tough to survive that Here-Hole."
Naruto calmly leaned forward, folding his hands, giving his mother his full attention.
"Blitz and Mox always state how strong I am and how I am 'The Best Killing Machine' in Here… But it is nothing special." Millie continued, her eyes starting to water up. "And to top it off, I… I was…"
She took a second to breath.
"The rage…" She looked at her hand before touching one of the bullet wounds before tracing it to her stab injury. "The fury… and my fear…"
She clenched her hand.
Flashback…
"What about me?" Melani asked as she flipped the imp off before turning her attention to Naruto. "You, pretty hound, are coming with me. My boss wants you, and ordered me to bring you to her."
Fast Forward…
"Looky here, Imp." Melani stated, hand on hip as Verosika drove off. "I ain't here for either you OR your Dumpy Husband."
She pointed right at Naruto, eyes narrow.
"I am ONLY here for the Mutt, so give him to me, and I won't HAVE to hurt…"
Melani's back arched backward, her feet pushing back as Millie's axe touched the VERY tip of her nostrils.
Flashback End…
"I was… I was so fucking scared…" Millie admitted, visibly shaking, jostling her enough to make her tears fall down her cheeks. "I was scared I'd lose you… and Mox… It brought out a monster…"
Flashback…
"YOU!"
Melani jumped out, rolled across the ground, positioning herself to fire, and released two bullets.
Millie tanked them, stumbling backwards.
"You come to my Home…" Millie stated as her rage continued to grow, Naruto unconscious in the street. "Attack my son and husband…"
Millie took a third bullet, but the pain only tickled as her animalistic eyes were laser focused on the Gecko.
"Die…"
Millie lunged forward, a jaguar like roar emitting from her throat as she grabbed Melani's shoulders, pushing the taller sinner to the ground.
"Damn it!" Moxxie mumbled in irritation as he removed his finger from the trigger.
He wasn't about to risk shooting his wife.
Millie punched Melani in the face.
"LEAVE!"
She punched the opposite side.
"MY!"
She punched both sides one after the other.
"ALONE!"
Millie raised both hands for a sledge hammer.
Melani took it straight to the face, the 'nose' part of her face caving in.
Her blood wasn't the only set spilled that moment.
Melani's knife was embedded to the hilt in Millie's side.
Millie didn't care.
Her tiny hands wrapped around Melani's throat, a guttural and ferol scream as her fingers gripped the sinner's throat.
"Mo-Ns-Ter…" Melani choked out, hands at Millie's wrists to break Millie's grip.
Millie was blind.
Not literally.
But by her rage.
She had been so angry for so long now… it just spilled out of her in droves.
It felt good.
The rush.
The power.
The fact she was CHOKING her son's attacker, killing them, made all of it worth it.
Flashback End…
Millie just shook.
Her words were failing.
Her chest felt tight, and was tightening at the thought of Naruto being taken from her.
All because of this… 'Boss' wants her son.
Millie felt Naruto pull her into a hug.
She didn't fight it.
Leaning into his embrace, she just let all of her emotions out.
They sat in silence.
It didn't matter to Naruto.
He was just being there for Millie… his mother.
His ears twitched then the door opened, causing Naruto to look up to see Verosika and Moxxie.
"Hey." Naruto said, his tail swaying in happiness as his dad and girlfriend entered the room.
"Hey, you are all set to go later today." Verosika said as she sat in Naruto's vacant chair.
"Everything alright?" Moxxie asked as he looked at his wife in his son's arms.
"Yep, Mom just wanted a hug, didn't want to let go." Naruto replied with a smile.
Millie chuckled, subtly wiping her eyes.
'Thank you, Naruto.' She mentally thanked.
"Naruto, you can go home for the night." Moxxie told his son as Naruto and Millie separated. "I'll stay here."
"I'll take you home." Verosika said as she touched Naruto's hand.
Naruto couldn't help but feel a sensual tingle in his spine.
"Alright, but I got to make sure I have everything, tomorrow, I am going with Jayjay and Vortex to visit her family." Naruto reminded as he stood up, grabbing the gecko tail.
He went to walk away, but stopped, spun around, leaned down and gave Millie a kiss on the forehead.
"Love you mom, you kicked ass." He said proudly, earning a smile from Millie. "Love you too dad."
"Night, Naruto." Millie and Moxxie said in unison.
"Come back tomorrow with a weed cookie…" Millie called out when Naruto closed the door.
"Okay." Naruto answered through the door, chuckling with Verosika, who smiled as they took each other's hands.
Naruto and Verosika left the hospital, leaving the proud parents to talk, laugh and sleep, without an annoying boss watching them.
Meanwhile…
Sitting in his recliner, Blitz bit into a bottle cap, yanking it off the glass bottle before spitting it into the trash.
He guzzled it down before yawning when he removed it from his lips.
"AAAAAhhh…." He said with a smile, wiping his lips.
"Jeez, dad," Loona laughed as she lay across the couch. "You're so loud…"
Both were wearing pajamas, eating microwave meals as they watched TV.
Stolas' Home…
Stolas was shivering as he drank his coffee with Octavia, who was just as nervous.
The servants ran around them, in and out of Stolas' and Stella's bedroom.
They had to prepare for the eventual laying of their next child.
Octavia's new sibling.
"So…" Octavia said between sips. "Got any names picked out?"
"No…" Stolas admitted, his shoulders drooping. "This was so sudden… names were…" he looked at Octavia. "What about you? Any names for your eventual sibling… siblings?"
Octavia shuddered at the implication of having more than one.
'It would be a nightmare.' She thought as she drank deeply of her coffee… running out half way through.
"Well, if it is a boy, I think Hunter would be nice." Octavia admitted as she started to refill her cup. "For a girl… I like Esther."
"Hunter or Esther." Stolas said, his ire fading as he smiled at Octavia. "Those are lovely names."
Meanwhile…
"… thanks for staying." Naruto said as he handed Verosika a plate of food he had cooked up.
After putting Melani's tail in Millie's bedroom and making sure he had everything ready for his trip, Naruto cooked dinner, letting Verosika relax after a stressful day.
"It is no problem, Naruto." Verosika replied as she accepted the food.
Sitting on the couch, Naruto's tail entwined with Verosika's as he leaned into her.
Shifting, Verosika smiled as Naruto's head lay across her breasts.
Verosika put her plate aside and started to stroke Naruto's head, fingers through his hair.
Naruto snuggled into her warmth, starting to feel drowsy after such a long day.
However, the weight within Verosika's chest resided there.
Meanwhile…
"And there we go." Jayjay said with a smile as she put her and Vortex's bag next to the door, all ready for the next day.
"Dinner's ready." Vortex called from the kitchen, turning the stove off.
With a pep in her step, Jayjay hopped toward the table.
Vortex entered, two plates on hand, placing one before Jayjay, her pink tail swaying back and forth as saliva built up in her mouth.
Cheddar and Broccoli Rice-a-Roni with brown gravy and a steak.
Cutting the steak, dabbing it in gravy before grabbing some rice, Jayjay ate some, smiling happily.
"Delicious." She squealed, making Vortex chuckle at how adorable his beloved was.
Greed Ring…
Dolled up in a crimson dress with spaghetti straps, make up done to perfection, hair in a twin braid, Kurama waited impatiently for her friend.
'Honestly, he calls me up to hang out after several months of silence and he is STILL late…' She thought with a pout, clicking her heels.
A large shadow engulfed Kurama.
"Yo-yo, Kur-ama, how is young Tama?"
Kurama spun on her heel, embedding her opposite heel into the stomach of said being.
They doubled over, heaving in pain, hands being held up.
"It's Me, it's ME!"
"B!" Kurama screamed, pulling her foot out of her friends stomach, angrily grabbing his cheek. "DON'T FUCKING SCARE ME!"
"I'M SOWWY…" B apologized, his cheek being pulled. "I WAS HUWWYING…"
Kurama released his cheek, stepping back with arms crossed.
"How can 'The Killer' B be such a fucking Lunatic!" Kurama stated as her friend held his swelling cheek.
Standing six foot four inches, Killer B had dark skin and a muscular build, as well as white hair and a goatee. On his right shoulder, he has a tattoo of the kanji for "iron" and on his left cheek, he has a tattoo of a bull's horn. His top lip also has a slightly darker hue than his bottom one.
B wears oval-shaped sunglasses as his attire consisted of a long, dark, sleeveless vest that left his abdomen exposed along with baggy white pants held up by a cord and sandals. His hair had also gotten noticeably longer and his brow becomes hairless but more prominent.
He looked completely human, ASIDE from the bull horns on his head, bull tail behind him while having octopus suckers under his arms, on the back of his legs, and bottom of his feet.
He was a Bull/Octopus Hellborn hybrid, Bull Father and Octopus Mother.
"Fool, Ya Fool~" B stated, posing in Bravado. "A Great rapper like me, is never a Tool~"
His other cheek was grabbed by Kurama.
"Enough rapping." She stated in anger.
B nodded his head.
Kurama released him, taking a deep breath before offering her arm to her friend.
"Come on, Let's go to the Lucky Seven Casino." She said as her mood improved.
B looped his arm within hers.
"Hopefully, he has forgiven me for my last trip to the Lucky Seven." B stated nervously chuckling.
"Oh, well, I compensated him well enough, which reminds me." Kurama said as she sinisterly smiled at B. "When are you going to pay me the rest of that money back?"
B scoffed.
"When my rapping career takes off, I'll pay you back, more then ever." He declared.
"It has been two years… and I still don't believe you." Kurama said with an eye roll as they neared Chomei's casino.
Skip, Morning…
"Alright, all set." Naruto said as he put his bag in the trunk, closing it.
"Wish we could have said good bye to your parents." Vortex said as he and Jayjay shut the door, locking it.
"Well, when your mother is in the intense care unit at the hospital, your dad should stay with her." Naruto said in a so-so manner.
He turned to Verosika, who was waiting for him.
"Hey, babe, thanks for spending the night." Naruto said with a kiss to her cheek.
"It was my pleasure, quite literally." Verosika said with a sensual playfulness.
Naruto blushed, smiling nervously as his eyes averted hers.
Verosika rolled her eyes and pulled him into a passionate kiss.
"Stay safe in the human world," Verosika said as she pulled back, saliva connecting the hound and succubus. "And bring me a souvenir."
"I'll try." Naruto said as he hugged her, releasing Verosika to go to Jayjay's car.
Only to get a light slap on his butt from Verosika's tail.
"Take care of my boy, Tex, or else your ass is fired." Verosika threatened her bodyguard.
"I'll find another job." Vortex joked as he, Jayjay, and Naruto got into his girlfriend's car.
Verosika's smile faltered as she watched the car drive off, the portal to the human world appearing before they drove through it.
A sense of fear and anxiety crept back up into her chest, causing it to tighten.
Pulling out her phone, Verosika sent a quick text.
Loo, I need to talk to someone… please… can you meet me at Paw Print Paradise within the hour… - Verosika
Verosika saw the 'typing' dots on the screen.
Sure, give me ten minutes. *Kiss Emoji* - Loona
Shuddering, Verosika shook herself before getting into her car.
Looking into the rearview mirror, seeing herself.
Quickly adjusting it, Verosika started the car, driving down the street in a hurry.
'I need a drink.' Verosika thought.
Human World…
In Human Disguises, Vortex was looking through Jayjay's phone as she drove.
"So…" Naruto said from the back. "You Facebook stalked your dad…"
"Oh, fuck off, Naruto." Jayjay replied as she turned the car. "It isn't stalking, it's keeping up to date."
"Stalking." Naruto said in a sing-song voice, earning a snicker from Vortex.
An elbow hit his arm, making Vortex laugh harder at the smirk/glare Jayjay gave him.
"Oh, babe, you're supposed to take a left…" Vortex said last minute at an intersection.
"Son of a…" Jayjay growled as she quickly U-Turned into the correct lane at the last minute.
Meanwhile…
Richard 'Dick' Burdell drank deep of his coffee, holding a book in one hand and his coffee in the other while the radio played music.
He was the same short, well-muscled man, just his hair was trimmed short to hide the white/graying hair and he wore reading glasses as he read his book in the living room.
Before him was paperwork from work.
He had just finished, and felt exhausted.
Thus, he read a book.
Meanwhile, Delila was at work at the radio station, giving Dick a rare occasion to have the house all to himself.
Putting his coffee down, Dick continued to read his book, turning the page as the song on the radio ended.

Dick lowered his book, looking toward the radio. But then his eyes drifted toward the fireplace, with the pictures on the mantle.

Dick felt his heart swell in emotion, not hearing a car pull up outside his house as he stood up and walked to the mantle, taking the old photo.

His eyes watered as he put the photo back, looking through the others.
His second wedding to Delila, with Jayjay as one of the Bridesmaids, with Dickie as the Ring-Bearer.
Dick's heart ached, as failure as a father started to kick in as faint footsteps were barely audible.

Dabbing his eyes of his tears, Dick made his way to the door, hearing voices behind it.
He opened the door, clearing his throat.
"Hello…"
Words died in his throat as Jayjay turned to face him, worry and concern on her face.
Dick and Jayjay stared at each other.
"Hey, Dad…" Jayjay said nervously folding her arms before her. "I know, it's been…"
Jayjay was cut off when Dick hugged her.
"W-Welcome Home…" Dick choked out.
