The Clone Wars: Beginning

In one galaxy, Palpatine manipulated Anakin Skywalker into turning to the Dark Side. And the Jedi did not allow marriage and relationships. This lead to the rise of the Galactic Empire, and the rise of Darth Vader. But what if I told you that there was another galaxy out there? And what if, in this galaxy, quite a few things were different. If you want to know, you'll have to read.

1. Chapter 1

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

The Jedi Order banned relationships. Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala were married in secret, and that led to the death of Padmé and the fall of Anakin Skywalker to the Dark Side. Twenty-two years later, Darth Vader would be redeemed and Anakin Skywalker would return. But what if there was a galaxy where things happened a little differently?

In this galaxy, the Jedi Order allows relationships, romantic or otherwise, so long as the Jedi's partner understood that there was a risk that the Jedi in the relationship would die. This allowance to the code are only taught to the younglings of the Jedi Temple at the age of seven. Indeed, there are many relationships within the Jedi Order. Jedi Master Mundi and Ismara Mundi, Master Aayla Secura and clone Commander Bly, Master Ileema Kenobi and clone Commander Logan, and Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and Duchess Satine Kryze.

But as Anakin Skywalker was brought to the Temple at age nine, he was never taught about this allowance to the Jedi code. So in secret, he and Senator Padmé Amidala are married, just as it was in the other galaxy far, far away. And just as it was there as well, this is where our story begins.

But do not be fooled, while things in this galaxy are different from what you might remember... It's not all happiness. There is still a fair share of grief and hurt. But in this galaxy the Empire doesn't take over, at least, not completely, not yet. Though through grief and pain, Vader is still born. But it is of his own, not through manipulation. In a dark time for the galaxy, who will rise to the challenge?

Though, that doesn't happen quite yet, there is still a story to be told after all. Our story begins on Coruscant, at the Jedi Temple, three years into one of the largest conflicts the galaxy has ever known, the Clone War. With no end to the war in sight, the Jedi have been leading the clone army of the Republic against the Separatist forces. The people of the Republic are losing hope. And will the Jedi discover the plot to destroy them before it's too late?
