"We also discovered something else, but it wasn't confirmed until this afternoon" The general continued taking out his parchment and typing a bit until the hologram on the desk appeared showing Ruby's aura meter.
What they saw made time seem to stop.
The meter was connected.
And it worked.
It showed that Ruby's aura was green.
"I-Is this real?" I question Pyrrha even without believing my eyes.
The director nodded "Yes" He said with a livelier voice "According to the Atlas technicians, Miss Rose's aura meter really works, this is not showing wrong information, we are really seeing the state of Miss Rose's aura" He replied explaining the finding.
Tai exhaled a breath that he didn't know he was holding, feeling how his black-haired friend placed a hand on his shoulder as a sign of support. This reminded him of a search mission he had done a long time ago in Vale with his recently graduated team.
A girl had disappeared in the city and they helped the police in the search, either by patrolling or keeping an eye on suspects as it was believed that she was kidnapped. In the end they found it and managed to disrupt a human trafficking network led by a local mafia, although of course, it was after 2 months.
That day when they went to a bar, an investigator told them that they were lucky since most of the time the person is never heard from or it was already too late, besides of course the jackpot of destroying that network that was even more unusual .
So hearing all this positive information in the first meeting on the subject, and the fact that it came out pretty quickly, gave her hope that she would get her girl back.
Meanwhile, the students felt their morale and hope rise at this, unfortunately someone cut that positivity with a knife.
"But" Yang interrupted with a voice and a steely look "This still doesn't tell us where my sister is or how to get her back" She said, making the atmosphere sour with an uncomfortable tension, her father looked at her sadly placing a hand on her shoulder.
Glynda looked gently at Yang "Unfortunately, Miss Xiao Long, we still don't know where Miss Rose might be, we are keeping an eye on the radar and any news of someone who resembles her appearance. But -" He couldn't finish because of a small alarm that sounded from the desk causing everyone to focus their gaze on him.
The screen changed from Ruby's aura meter to a map of the kingdom of Vale where a red circle, covering the surroundings of the kingdom, glowed on it.
Tai and the students looked confused at what happened but the others...
Glynda changed instantly when she saw the screen to her iron gaze. "I'll prepare an airship to leave," she said coldly as she typed her parchment.
Ironwood touched his comlink listening to someone on the other side before looking at Ozpin "My response team is ready, they will deploy as soon as the exact position is triangulated" Announcement.
Tai turned to look at his daughters' uncle "Qrow, what's up?" I ask confused.
Qrow kept his notice "It's the detection system, it seems that thing will appear again" He clarified seriously loud enough for everyone to hear him.
"The Bullhead is ready, it is waiting for us in the bay" Glynda said, putting away her parchment.
Ozpin nodded and got up from his seat "Okay, let's go, the faster we are, the more likely we will be to intercept him" he declared, heading towards the elevator.
"I'll go with you" Tai said with a voice that implied that he would not change his mind, the director nodded in agreement.
As the others went to the elevator, Jaune heard a small 'ping' from the screen causing him to stop and turn to look at it again.
"Well, let's go immediately to that portal and look for Ruby" Yang commented already thinking about looking for his gauntlets.
"No," Glynda said in a tone that left no room for argument.
Yang stopped.
"That?"
"You are not coming with us" Glynda said looking at the students who had expressions of disbelief.
"Hey" I call Jaune who stared at the screen next to Pyrrha who joined him, both had expressions of disbelief at what they saw. But it was ignored.
"You can't be serious!" Yang protested with red eyes and his hair expelling small flames.
"Yang!" Blake yelled in disbelief at how she responded to the vice principal.
"Hey!"
"Miss Xiao Long, I understand your anguish, but you are emotionally unstable and acting impulsively, we can't lose you too, it's already difficult to get Ruby back" Ozpin argued, going straight to the point while containing Glynda, who directs a scathing look at the blonde .
"But-!" The blonde tried to object, before feeling a hand on her shoulder.
"Look, firecracker" Qrow intervened "I promise we'll get Ruby back, but -" .
"HEY!" Jaune yelled already tired of being ignored making everyone turn to look at him.

Ozpin narrowed his eyes. "Glynda alert the other teachers, go around the academy and report back when the portal manifested. Qrow go with them." ordered Ozpin.
They both nodded and went at full speed to the elevator disappearing behind its doors.
James while he pressed his communicator upon receiving a transmission and turned his gaze towards the port seeing how 3 aircraft from his fleet were approaching "The reaction team will arrive in 5 minutes, they are equipped with more precise sensors than radars to help us find the location faster before he manifests and takes someone else away" I inform.
The director nodded "Okay" He said now focusing his attention on the old dragon "We three will stay here and take care of them" Referring to the JNPR and RWBY teams.
"Because? Shouldn't we be helping the teachers?" Nora asked annoyed by the fact that they were left out.
"It's for something that the director and I are considering" James replied, taking out his revolver to inspect the ammunition "If the portal appeared, there was a high probability that it would abduct one of you because of your proximity to Miss Rose. Taller than anyone else, especially Team RWBY" I explain putting the drum back in its position "There was even a squad of soldiers with the mission to protect them, right now they must be helping Professor Goodwitch" I add getting surprised expressions from they.
"They were going to tell us that, right?" Weiss questioned, not very happy to find out that there would be people watching them 24 hours a day.

The WBY and JNPR crew looked at him with shocked and disbelieving eyes as their director essentially planned to keep no one from finding out what was going on with their friend.
"Wait, you were planning to hide all this?" Jaune asked incredulously.
"That's right, but believe me when I say that it's for a good reason" The director replied, quickly clarifying the last thing in the face of the obvious disagreement of his students.
"And that would be…?" I question Yang hostile thinking that he planned to sweep this under the rug.
"Grimm" Tai spoke going straight to the problem.
The simple and direct answer left the hunter students blinking in confusion, especially Yang.

"If the news of a portal appearing and abducting people gets out. Coupled with the fact that we can't stop it yet, we don't know exactly who it is targeting or if it even targets and who is responsible, it would cause panic among the population" explained the general.

"But what?" Ironwood whispered, not much affected by the light like Tai and Ozpin who only narrowed their eyes, before pressing his comlink "This is General Ironwood, report."
" General Ironwood, this is Specialist Winter, the anomaly is developing in the director's office. I request the opening of the windows to proceed " The general's right hand answered on the other side.
"Understood, Ironwood out" The general said, turning to look at Tai who nodded and went to open one of the windows.
At that moment one of the Bullheads descended to the height of the window and opened its doors revealing a squad made up of androids and Atlas soldiers, in front of them leading them was Winter Schnee.
"Winter" Weiss whispered surprised by the presence of her older sister.
The group of students, who were already recovering, watched as the androids and soldiers quickly disembarked. They immediately and wordlessly began to walk around the room with what looked like a gun-shaped scanner.
"General, Director" Winter greeted approaching both of them with Taiyang at his side.
"Specialist, update us on the situation" ordered the general.
Winter nodded. "We have traced the signs of the anomaly throughout the academy and we have noticed that the signs are accumulating in this particular room," he reported, taking out his parchment to reveal how the scanners showed lines that connected at one point.
Like rivers forming a lake.
"You have to take the children outside, if that thing comes for one of them it is better to take them to a safe place" Tai expressed the obvious, receiving the assent of the general and the director.
Ozpin nodded to his friend "Take them to -" .
"The anomaly is manifesting!"
The cry of alarm from one of the soldiers made everyone turn in his direction. They watched him step back as in front of him was a fist-sized glowing sphere floating at knee height that slowly began to grow.
"Raise the barrier!" Ordered Winter drawing his saber as a precaution.
The soldiers immediately put away their scanners and took a rectangular metal block out of their pockets. They quickly positioned themselves around the sphere placing the blocks on the ground, after interacting with them for a bit a dome of hard light was formed that enclosed the sphere that was now the size of a football.
I was growing up fast.
"AK units deploy shield and form a security perimeter" The general barked with his weapon ready, something repeated by the director.
As the androids positioned themselves the elevator opened revealing Qrow with Glynda. When they saw the situation, they quickly positioned themselves next to the director without taking their eyes off the portal that was formed with their weapons drawn.
"Tai take the children down quickly" Ozpin ordered his friend when he saw the speed at which everything was evolving, it would reach a point that he could not promise his safety.
Tai nodded gesturing to the students to follow him "Okay guys we're not going now."
They couldn't even answer when at that moment the lights started flickering and all the electronic devices started malfunctioning.
The dome of hard light flickered with signs of collapsing soon and the androids looked like they could barely keep up with some already falling to the ground in the dark.
"What's going on?!" Jaune asked alarmed.
"Comms down!" Winter said trying to use her intercom, getting only static.
"Shit everything is dying!" Qrow complained, looking around. "It had to be my luck," he whispered under his breath.
"The elevator does not work!" Tai shouted repeatedly pressing the button to open the doors to no avail.
While this was happening, the students stood up despite being unarmed, although Weiss and Jaune were a bit left behind, not having the best hand-to-hand combat skills.
Although the one that stood out the most was Yang Xiao Long as she stood in front of the group facing the portal with clenched fists and her eyes being crimson.
His semblance was active.
Glynda knowing that he would try stepped in front of her students "Team RWBY and JNPR stay behind us!" Glynda yelled moving them with her semblance behind all the adults in the office.
The sphere at this point touched the ground and became a dome that was already almost as big as the hard light with which they tried to enclose it and the light it emitted made it almost impossible to look at it directly.
"Winter cover us!" I order the general.
"Understood!" He responded by using his glyphs to create a small wall of ice that separated those present from the anomaly that seemed to have stopped growing, surpassing everyone in size by a head, but it did not stop increasing its brightness already preventing the power to even open the eyes.
"Everyone take cover!" Ozpin yelled at the ignorance of what would happen next.
A few seconds later the anomaly reaching its critical point glowed with such intensity that everyone in the academy could see it. The teachers began to head towards the principal's office, being followed by some students who were held up uselessly by the soldiers who tried to prevent their advance.
And in an instant the light disappeared, leaving the director's office silent as the electrical appliances began to work again. Those present, noticing the change, slowly opened their eyes and leaned out to see what had happened.
"What the hell?" Nora questioned in a whisper.
The anomaly had disappeared and in the place where it was, everything remained intact and the same as it was before.
Except for one thing.
Or rather a someone.
In the center of where everything happened stood an adult woman with her eyes closed, holding a rose attached to her hair on the right side. She wore a white off-the-shoulder top, a brown leather corset with golden rose decorations that covered from her hips to the bottom of her breasts and was connected to a ruff that covered her shoulders and half of her neck , exposing the front, black fingerless gloves that covered elbows, a bright red skirt with black lining, reddish stockings complete with rose trim, black lace-up combat boots, upper trims, and red soles.
But of all his appearance there were four things that stood out above the rest.
A red cape, torn by use and that was connected to the choker with two pins on her shoulders that simultaneously held a silver chain that ended up surrounding her neck.
A large silver buckle on the left side of the choker in the shape of a rose.
The hair that, despite being long, was black with red tips.
And the most impressive.
Crescent Rose's compact form hung on her back at waist level, slightly covered by the cloak.
They all remained silent with expressions that ranged from surprise, confusion to disbelief.
When the person opened the eyelids it revealed the color of the eyes under them.
They were silver.
