Byleth lets out a tired sigh and sets her paintbrush aside, taking a moment to look over her work. Covering the canvas in front of her is a painting of her family. The one she could've had all those years ago. In the painting, she is only a baby, swaddled in blankets and held securely in her late mother Sitri's arms as her father embraces the love of his life from behind.

Turning to look at the time, Byleth sees she's been at this for far too long. It's time for her to get up and prepare for work now.

With another sigh, this one full of longing for what she could have had, she sets about getting dressed while doing her best to push old memories to the side. Double checking that she has everything she'll need for the day, she gives her apartment one last look before heading out the door and off to work.

Arriving at UA, she sets about what is quickly becoming her morning routine at work. Getting coffee (the drink may as well be a gift from Sothis), greeting her coworkers, organizing her files, etc. This time around though, there's a somewhat strained air about her movements. She's stressed, but doing her absolute best to hide it.

She's not alone though, many of her fellow teachers are also on edge, though with the other day's events in mind it isn't difficult to see why.

A few day earlier, the usual (though slightly worse due to All Might's presence) new year reporters had bypassed the UA Barrier which, while already worrisome, had revealed a new threat. The reporters hadn't gotten in alone after all, someone had disintegrated the gate to let them through.

Due to a later combing of the security camera footage they had been able to track the perpetrator through the school grounds and into one of the offices, only for them to then abscond from the premises and disappear. They later found that the intruder had stolen a copy of the weekly schedule, which was what everyone was worried about.

If some enemy of theirs had gone through the trouble to get information about their movement throughout the week, it could only mean they wanted to use it to their own ends. What that entailed was anyone's guess. Some argued that they would be coming back for something more valuable, others said they were after something from a student, but the prevailing theory, and the one Byleth believed, was that there would be an attack sometime this week.

Removing herself from her thoughts, Byleth lets out a tired sigh. With so little information to go on, they could really only speculate, which had taken its toll on all of them. Taking a sip of her coffee (and thanking Sothis for its existence), she sets about her preparations for today's events.

Today the First Year Hero Courses are taking a trip to the Unforeseen Simulation Joint to begin training for rescue situations. Due to Byleth's inexperience with such things she's being brought along to observe and hopefully learn the proper methods to deal with those situations.

Seeing everything is in order, Byleth drains her coffee, says goodbye to Seteth, and heads out to meet the students at the busses.

Arriving, Byleth gives a nod to both Aizawa and Vlad in greeting and goes to stand beside them to wait for the arrival of the students.

When all are assembled, Aizawa speaks up, "Alright, soon we'll be getting on these busses to head out to the location, but before we do I'd like to speak with you all. Today we're going to a facility constructed by a Hero specializing in rescue, so I'd like you all to behave while we're in their space. In addition to them, myself, and Vlad, Ms. Eisner will also be accompanying us to help supervise."

Vlad grunts, "Maybe she'll be needed to help with your kids Eraser, but I'd like to think my class is a bit better behaved than that."

Completely ignoring the friendly taunt, Aizawa continues, "Again, while Ms. Eisner is a new Hero and new member of UA's staff, I'd like you all to treat her respectfully while she's with us. Having met her before, some of you may be wondering why I feel the need to give you this speech. Suffice to say, there have been some issues in the past few days that make me feel the need to reinforce the idea that despite how new she is here that she is a powerful Hero worthy of your respect, and an excellent teacher as well."

Byleth has to hold in a wince at the mention of the 'issues'. Earlier in the week Endeavor had payed a visit to the school to confront her after hearing that she had been hired alongside All Might. As many issues as Endeavor had with All Might, he was already familiar with him and his quality as a Hero. The same could not be said for Byleth. He had demanded to see what Nezu thought could possibly qualify her for a position at the school, and Nezu had given the order for her to show him. The media would have had a field day about Endeavor being sent home in a stretcher if they'd been allowed to find out, but Nezu had kept the whole ordeal quite for the man's sake.

(Todoroki did seem oddly happy for someone whose father had been so severely beaten, but it was none of Byleth's business so she kept to herself about it.)

After Aizawa's speech the two classes and three Heroes loaded up on the busses and set off for the USJ, having no idea what they were in for.

A/N: I just had a thought. In my mind, Byleth would have strong parental feeling for her students, both past and present. In both cases, some of said students have had very bad home lives and even lacked a parent or two in some cases. What I'm getting at here, is that Byleth totally adopted the three houses cast, and is going to do the same to 1-A and 1-B, even if she had to fight Aizawa and Vlad for custody. Hell, in a particular case she might actually fill out the paperwork to do so, but I'll let you guess who that'll be for. Anyway, I have other things to work on now, so I'll see you later.
