Hey everybody, I'm back again with a new chapter. But I need to address something to this punk named Zeaka TEP for that "review" in the first chapter. Me and Cloud4012 don't really appreciate your words. We don't like repeating the same story over and over again, but I'm trying my damnest to make a good story. I don't care what you say to us. If you think you can make a story a million times better than ours, then go ahead. And consider yourself banned also.

It's lime every time I make a story like this, a bunch of assholes don't like the way we're making it. We're actually putting in effort to diverge from canon people. You don't mess with us, we won't mess with you.

OK? Good. Enjoy the chapter.

Chapter 2: Pokémon Emergency!

We find ourselves at the entrance of Viridian City, as Ash was holding Pikachu in his hands.

"Chu." Pikachu groans.

"Don't worry Pikachu, I'll get you to that hospital as soon as possible." Ash assures.

As he walked past the open gates, a hand suddenly grabbed him from behind, startling him. "Wha-hey!"

"Hold it right there!" Turning around to face his grabber, Ash saw it was a female police officer before him, her teal hair tied back and her two-tone blue uniform. "And just where do you think you're going with that Pokémon, young man?"

"This is my Pokémon, and I'm trying to get it to the hospital right away!" Ash exclaimed, out of breath.

Examining him, the officer saw they were both in pretty bad condition.

"You two look like you've seen better days," She said.

"Had a bad run in with some wild Pokemon on the way in. Please can you just point me in the direction of the hospital?" Ash asks.

Seeing the tired expression on his face along with the status of the Electric types current state, the policewoman knew this was a serious matter and there was no time for fooling around. She gave him reassuring look and said, "I'll do you one better, I'll take you to the Pokémon Center myself."

She opened up her garage in her station to reveal a motorcycle with a side-car installed in so Ash could sit in. "Before I forget, you wouldn't happen to have any ID to give the nurse attending there your credentials?"

"ID? Oh yeah I do." Reaching into his pocket, Ash took out his PokéDex.

Nodding, she said, "Alright, perfect. Now just sit back, hang on tight, and try not to yell." The policewoman said as she hit the gas, and drove out of the station very fast, making Ash exclaim as he held Pikachu tightly so he wouldn't fly out.

As they were long gone, we see someone coughing up the dying exhaust, holding a destroyed bike. It was the red-haired girl from the river. "Hey, wait!" She yelled, before chasing after them while struggling to carry the remains of her bicycle.

You see, unfortunately during the big battle with the Spearow, the combination of lightning and Pikachu's attack was too much for it and as a result her bike was totally destroyed.

As she chased after them, she failed to notice a fishing line, hooked a wanted poster of some suspicious people from the police gate before lifting it up into a cat-shaped hot-air balloon, snagged by a man with violet colored hair.

"A Wanted Poster? How flattering," a woman with long red colored hair said, sarcastically.

"Flattering? This picture makes me look terrible!" The man said with a scoff.

"Then you should be happy that they managed to capture the real you," The woman said, behind him.

"Exactly."

The long haired woman chuckled with a sneer and said, "Don't worry, we'll show these bumpkins."

"The people of Viridian City will be sorry they ever saw THIS face." The violet haired man agreed with her.

"We're all sorry to see your face, now stay focused you two!" chimed in down below the two adults was a small figure with a Brooklyn accent. "We're here to capture rare Pokémon, don't forget. Meowth!" Even more surprising, the figure was a cream-colored cat Pokémon with a coin on its head.

"Absolutely!" "But of course!" His two teammates said in unison.

"And just remember, I'M the top cat!" The talking Pokémon said with a greasy sneer as it looked out of the basket.

"You got it!" The man with a hint of sarcasm. It seems some trouble was about to stir up in Viridian City soon.

It didn't take long for the night to roll over the sky as we saw Ash barely staying conscious and trying not to vomit while still sitting in the driver's seat of the motorcycle belonging to the policewoman as they rode down multiple streets to get to their destination.

"There it is!" exclaimed the policewoman as they came within range of a large building with a large, red "P" on the front, in the shape of a Poké Ball.

Ash silently commented, "The Pokémon Center... it's gigantic." As he struggled to read the sign, not wanting to pass out. Officer Jenny noticed his condition was worsening.

"This is going to be tricky..hang on tight!," Officer Jenny said as she drove her motorcycle over the steps and skidded right into the main lobby, stopping at the front desk where a young woman with pink hair tied in two ponytails wearing a nurse's uniform stood, and didn't look happy at the scene in front of her.

"We have a driveway, you know, Jenny."

"Sorry, Nurse Joy, but it's a Pokémon Emergency!" Officer Jenny said, helping Ash and Pikachu out the seat. "This boy and his Pokémon need immediate medical attention."

"Oh dear," The nurse gasped seeing their state. She was then handed Ash's Pokédex.

"All his information is there and checked out. And he might need someplace to lay down. He looks like he's about to pass out." Jenny advises.

"Understood. Chansey, bring two stretchers, stat!" Nurse Joy calls out. Coming out of the back, a pink Pokémon in a nurse's hat came in with a stretcher.

Ash and Pikachu were both placed on separate stretchers from each other. "Wait, Nurse Joy," Ash stopped her and cringed as he went to his belt to reach for a Poké Ball. "This one..needs a recovery tool."

"I'll take good care of them." Nurse Joy said, taking it as she and Chansey pushed their stretchers to the Emergency Room.

That was all Ash needed to hear before he lied back and slowly closed his eyes as darkness took him into slumber.

Some time later…

Ash slowly woke up to see he was in a hospital bed, with most of his clothes neatly folded and placed on a chair next to him. His other belongings were also there, indicating they had been taken from him during the fight. All of his wounds were patched up, but he could tell his body still ached as he tried to get out of bed. He had to move slowly.

Nearby, he saw a tray of snacks on a table beside him.

"Wow, I really needed that nap," Ash said as he grabbed the water and chugged it down.

"Oh, Mr. Ketchum! You're awake!" she exclaimed as she entered the room.

"Nurse Joy. How are Pikachu and Spearow?" Ash asks.

"Pikachu still needs a little more rest, but both are in stable condition," she informed.

"And Spearow?" Ash asked.

"Well..." Nurse Joy trailed off with a troubled look on her face. "Your Spearow was hard to handle. It's uncooperative; wouldn't let me or Chansey near it to heal its wounds, and just kept trying to attack us or escape." She explained, making Ash cringe.

"Yeah that one might also be my fault. I didn't exactly make a good first impression." Ash admits.

The nurse looked at him confused as to what he meant. She was going to ask him why, but the boy had only recently recovered from his injuries, so she held back the questioning until later. "Well, about your condition, it seems all you had was just exhaustion with the exception of minor bruises, but you're going to be alright. You're free to go sit in the main lobby until the both of your Pokémon are done with their recoveries. Though I advise that you try to take it easy."

Ash gave her a nod. "I will, um, do you mind if I use your phone?" he asked her. "I think I want to call home."

"Of course, we have numerous public-use video phones all installed in the main lobby," Nurse Joy said, pointing in the direction of the lobby's location. "If you need anything else, don't hesitate to ask."

"Thank you." Ash nods as she went back to look at the Pokémon as Ash picks himself up, grabbing his clothes and pack before walking slowly down the hall and into the main lobby where he sees a line of video phones near the wall.

Making his way over, Ash dialed home.

"Hello, this is the Ketchum Residence," Delia answered.

"Hi, Mom," Ash said, before a gasp escaped from the monitor in front of him as the screen blinked on, revealing his mother's face.

"Hi, honey!" Mrs. Ketchum said cheerily. "Is everything okay? Where are you right now, Ash?"

Ash said, "I'm at the Pokemon Center in Viridian City."

"You're already in Viridian City? It took your father 3 days when he started his Pokémon Journey." Delia said, amazed.

"Yeah, he probably had a better first day than I did," Ash said sadly.

Delia looked confused when he said that. "What do you mean by that?" she asked. "Honey, what happened? You can tell me."

Ash sighed, "Mom...I really messed up today. I made so many stupid mistakes that not even a regular trainer wouldn't make, and on top of that, I got Pikachu really hurt." He confessed sadly.

"Ash." Delia said surprised to hear this from his mouth.

"My first day as a Pokemon trainer was one disaster after another. I don't know if I can do this mom. Maybe I'm not cut out to--" Ash starts.

"Don't you even think about finishing that sentence, mister." Delia interrupts.

"I won't let you talk about yourself like that, Ash," Delia said, raising her voice. "This has been your dream for as long as you can remember, and you want to give up after your first day? Do you even hear yourself?"

"But mom--"

"Don't but mom me. Tell me right now. Was everything a disaster? Did any good things happen as well or are you just focusing on the bad stuff?" Delia asks.

When he was about to retort, Ash then remembered some of the events that had happened to him earlier: he had captured his first Pokémon, Pikachu had protected him from the Spearow flock, and they both saw that majestic Pokémon flying over the rainbow, while giving him that feather. "Well, good things... well, I guess a few happened," he said softly.

"Exactly. You just had a bad day Ash, but the bad stuff is over now. Tomorrow you'll do better because you won't make the same mistakes as today." Delia said.

"Mom.." Ash was speechless hearing that.

"Now come on. Show that smile. Show me my little boy who dreams of being a Pokemon Master." Delia urged.

Ash couldn't help but smile and chuckle. "How come you always find the right words to say?"

"It comes with the job of being a mother," Delia smiled. "To make sure their child stays happy. And I want you to keep going as a trainer, because I know that makes you happy. Prove me wrong."

"Thanks Mom. I needed that." Ash said.

"Now tell me, what good things happened?" Delia asks.

"Well I did catch a Pokemon." Ash said.

"See? Now that's a good thing." Delia said proud of him.

"Yeah, a Spearow." He reveals, surprising her.

"A Spearow? Wow Ash, that's quite a first catch." She said impressed.

"Thanks, Mom." Ash said, feeling a little better now. "Well, I just called to check in with you, to let you know I'm OK and got here safe."

"Feel free to call whenever you can. And Ash, don't give up so easily. I believe in you." Delia smiles.

"Love you mom." Ash smiles.

"Love you too, Ash." Delia said as they hung up.

Ash felt rejuvenated after that little pep talk from his mother. She was right; one minor setback wouldn't stop him from becoming a Pokémon Master.

That's the power of parenting for you.

As he got up from his seat, Ash happened to glance at a mural depicting four Pokémon on the wall.

"Wait a second." As he walked closer Ash noticed the one in the top left corner bared a strong resemblance to the Pokemon he saw after the Spearow attack.

He then unconsciously touched the left breast on the inside pocket of his jacket, where he kept the feather he'd received.

'I wonder if I'll ever see it again.' Ash thought when suddenly he heard a phone ringing.

He looked around and saw that it was coming from the front desk's phone monitor. Nurse Joy wasn't back yet, so Ash thought that he might as well answer it. He pressed the answer button and said, "Uh, hello? This is the Viridian City Pokémon Center."

"Ash, is that you?" A familiar voice asks. Looking at the screen Ash saw the back of Prof. Oak.

"Professor Oak? Uh..Professor, were you cooking dinner?" Ash said, looking down at the table of ramen behind him.

"Hm?" Oak turned and realized his mistake. "Oh, silly me! One second!" He changed the perspective to where he was facing Ash entirely. "There, that's better. Your mother recently called me and told me you arrived at Viridian City and you felt a little down, so I thought I'd call in to check on you."

"Well I'm fine Professor," Ash replied. "But Pikachu's really hurt. You see there was this flock of Spearow.." Ash then explained everything that happened.

Prof. Oak nods while crossing his arms. "Hmm, I see. So they're still there." He said, getting Ash's attention.

"You know about the Spearow?" Ash asked.

"Yes, the other Pallet Trainers who passed by noticed quite a bit of Spearow activity. But they all took great measures to avoid any of them." Prof. Oak informs.

Ash frowned to himself, wishing he did the same, but his mind was just focused on other things at the time.

"I'm just glad you managed to get away from them. You're not too hurt are you?" Prof. Oak asks.

"I'll be fine, but it wasn't a total loss. I did catch one of them." Ash points out.

Hearing this a big smile appeared on his face. "Ha! I win! I win! Better get that hat out and ready!" Prof. Oak cheers, confusing Ash.

"Hat? Win what?" Ash asked.

"Well, you see, I made a bet with my grandson, Gary. I said that you would have new Pokémon by the time you reached Viridian City. I said I'd eat my hat if you didn't!" Prof. Oak laughs.

"Wait, isn't your hat a 10 gallon cowboy hat?" Ash recalls.

"Yes it is, but since you caught a Pokemon that means Gary has to eat the hat." Prof. Oak said, making Ash burst into laughter.

"Oh my God, that's awesome!" Ash exclaimed as he wiped a tear from his face. "Oh, I needed that laugh after today. I hope you got him recorded when he eats it."

"I'll let you know the second the hat arrives to him." Prof. Oak said.

Ash had a big grin on his face. Oh he could only imagine the disgusted look on his rival's face just chomping away a 10 gallon cowboy hat. It would make his day even better.

"But as for the Spearow flock, I'll have to contact the Pokémon League to have them moved out of the area so that a mess like that never happens again."

"Good idea," Ash said, liking the sound of that. "Oh, but while you're here, Professor Oak, I have a question. After my encounter with the Spearow Flock, I saw a Pokémon that the PokéDex doesn't even know about."

"Hm? You don't say?" Prof. Oak asked, interested to know about it. "Tell me more about this Pokémon."

"Well it looked like a giant bird, it was gold all over and flew right towards a rainbow after the storm let up." Ash tried his best to describe it.

"Are you sure that's what it looked like? I've only read a description of such a Pokémon in books and even they never got a good look at it." Prof. Oak said.

"I'm sure. It kinda looks like that one." Ash said pointing to the Pokemon carving above the screen.

Prof. Oak looked at the tablet and said, "I highly doubt you saw a Pokémon like that, Ash."

"What makes you think so?" Ash inquired.

The old researcher then said, "This stone table depicts a number of legendary Pokémon, creatures that have never been seen by the human eye for many years."

"But it was real, Professor. I saw it." Ash said wanting to show him the feather.

"Well even so I wouldn't go bragging about it until you learn what exactly it was you saw." Prof. Oak said, stopping him.

Ash hated to admit it, but the professor was right. He didn't know the name of the Pokémon, nor where it came from. And there was no way the feather would just give him the answers.

"In the meantime, tell Nurse Joy to call me back. I sent a few Pokemon there and I want to know how they're doing and when I can expect them back." Prof. Oak requests.

"Sure thing, Professor Oak." Ash nodded, before noticing smoke behind him. "Uh, I think something's burning up behind you."

Prof. Oak turned around and gasped. "Oh no," he exclaimed. "My ramen's overcooking! I have to go, Ash!" He said, ending the call as the screen went blank.

"Oh man, this day is starting to turn around." Ash chuckles.

"There you are!"

Ash spun around and saw the red-haired girl from the river, holding the charred remains of her bike. "Oh it's you.." He said nervously.

"I knew you'd be here." She pants heavily.

"Oh my god. I didn't realize it was that bad." Ash cringed at the sight. "Listen I'm really sorry about your bike but there was an accident and it kinda got electrocuted."

"I could tell.." The girl said as she tried not to fall to her knees.

Once the girl managed to breathe at a normal rate again, she placed her bike to the side. "I will admit, when you stole my bike, I was really upset... especially when I found it trashed in the woods." She said, eyes narrowing at Ash, making him gulp and sweat nervously; however, the girl's expression changed from irritation to concern. "But when I was on my way here, I ran into Officer Jenny when she was heading back to her post, and she told me how hurt you and your Pikachu were." She said, surprising Ash.

"S-she did?" He asked.

"How's Pikachu doing? Is it serious?" The girl asks.

"I'm not sure." Ash admitted. "I fell asleep briefly and when I woke up they were still back there. Not to mention my Spearow is proving to be difficult as well."

"Your Spearow?" She cringed seeing he had enough problems on his plate right now.

Putting her bike against the counter, the girl sat down next to Ash.

"You know, I was actually thinking you were gonna keep shouting at me, demanding I pay for the damages, even following me all over." Ash admitted.

"I'm angry, not a monster. We can talk about this later. Right now your head is too focused on your Pokemon to deal with anything else," She said.

Another wave of relief hits Ash once he hears this. "Thank you. Oh, I'm Ash Ketchum, by the way."

"I'm Misty, Misty Waterflower." The girl said, introducing herself.

"So Misty, where were you heading before I ran into you?" Ash asks.

"I was coming here. Planned to do some traveling past the Viridian Forest." Misty said.

"Viridian Forest? That's north from here, right?" Ash asked.

"Yeah, but it's pretty thick and long. I don't know how long it would take me to get through it without my bike." Misty admits.

Ash looked at the troubled look on her face and just as he was about to open his mouth to suggest something, the doors to the emergency room opened up and Nurse Joy along with Chansey appeared pushing Pikachu on a stretcher as well with Spearow's Poké Ball in hand.

Ash asked, "Is Pikachu okay?" as he ran up to them.

"Pikachu is resting. The procedure went well and he should be fine." Nurse Joy assures.

Ash sighed with relief as he placed a hand on his starter's head, "Thank goodness." He smiled and then turned to the Poké Ball. "And Spearow?"

Nurse Joy said, "We actually managed to get the Spearow to calm itself down and go through its own procedure, so it's ready to go now." She handed the ball to him.

'Well maybe not entirely ready.' Ash thought while looking at it.

Once he opened the ball up, Ash already knew Spearow was going to be giving him a lot of crap, he just knew it.

"If you don't mind I'm gonna step outside for a bit. Where's the back entrance?" Ash asks.

"First door on the left." Nurse Joy points.

"Thank you." Ash said heading down the hall.

"Where are you going?" Misty asked.

"To deal with one last problem." Ash simply stated before walking out the door. "Well...let's get this over with. " Ash slowly pressed the button onto the ball, releasing the brown bird.

"Spear? Spearow?" Spearow squawked, then turned his head around to see Ash right in front of him and glared angrily. "Spear.."

"Hey Spearow. Yeah it's me. The boy who threw a rock at you. And now I caught you." Ash said knowing just how much the little Pokemon must hate him now.

"Spearow! Spear!" Spearow squawked, pointing to its head.

"I'm really sorry. I was angry about so many things and I wasn't thinking straight. I'm sorry. Ash apologized, feeling really bad for him.

"Row," Spearow turned away, refusing to acknowledge his apology.

"Look, I don't need your forgiveness, okay? But you are going to listen to me first. Once you do I'll release you so you can go back to the forest. Although I doubt you'll ever find your flock again." Ash said, getting his attention. "Yeah they're long gone now. So ready to at least hear what I have to say?"

Scowling at the news, Spearow had no other choice but to listen. "Spearow?"

"I'm sorry I attacked you. I wasn't thinking straight. What was supposed to be the best day of my life turned into a nightmare when I got stuck with the biggest pain in the neck starter I ever met. Wouldn't listen to a single thing I said, mocked me, and made every second I was with him a nightmare, and at that point, all I wanted was to find any Pokemon I could catch so I could dump him back in Pallet Town and never look back...but that's not how you should ever treat Pokemon." Ash sighs. "You have to treat all Pokemon like they can be your friends. And I wasn't treating Pikachu or you that way. And I'm sorry."

"Spear." Spearow said, surprised to hear that.

"Look if you don't want to stay with me that's fine. If I release you now it might take you a while but you might be able to find your flock, but if you do want to stick with me I promise I will never mistreat you ever again." Ash swears.

Considering his options, Spearow didn't exactly know where one member of his flock could be right now. It could take him days, weeks or even months to regroup. And while Ash didn't make the best first impression he seemed eager to make amends.

"The choice is yours, Spearow." Ash said. He expected Spearow to probably fly away, but surprisingly, Spearow perched itself on his shoulder. "Spearow?"

"Spear." He smiles saying he was fine sticking with him.

"Really? You wanna stay with me?" Ash asked as the little bird gave him a nod.

Smiling Ash took out the Poké Ball. "Welcome to the team Spearow."

Reaching his beak out, Spearow tapped it and went inside. Ash was proud to say that he had now officially and legitimately caught his first Pokémon.

Making his way back inside, the alarm system inside the Pokemon Center went off, surprising everyone.

"Your attention, please!" Officer Jenny's voice called through the speakers around the city.

"Our Viridian City radar sensors have detected an aircraft belonging to a gang of Pokémon thieves spotted near the city borders! All citizens are to stay in doors immediately along with their Pokémon!"

No sooner had the message finished , the glass in the skylight above shattered as two Poké Balls dropped through it and snapped open once they hit the ground.

The first ball opened up to reveal a floating purple ball Pokémon, filled with black smoke. "Koffing!"

The second ball opened revealing a purple snake-like Pokémon with yellow eyes and tail. "Ekans!"

From Koffing's holes, smoke emerged filling the entire Pokemon Center.

"What in the?" Ash gasps as Misty and Nurse Joy cover their mouths.

"Don't be frightened little boy."

"Allow us to introduce ourselves."

The owners of the voices came from the thick smoke as 3 figures were shown from entering via the skylight as they began to recite some kind of motto.

"To protect the world from devastation!" Said the woman with long red hair.

"To unite all peoples within our nation!" Said the man with blue hair.

"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"

"To extend our reach to the stars above!"

"Jessie!"

"James!"

"Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!"

"Surrender now or prepare to fight!"

"Me-owth, that's right!" finished the cream-colored cat Pokémon.

"What are you, people? Some new kind of Improv Group?" Ash asks.

"Did that Meowth just talk?" Misty asked.

"You kids are focusing on the wrong details." Jessie said.

"We're here for the Pokémon." James orders.

A scowl appeared on Ash's face upon hearing their plans of wanting to steal the Pokémon. He stepped in front of the stretcher that held his partner. "You're not getting Pikachu, or any of our Pokémon!" Ash said.

"Pikachu? Don't worry, little boy. We're not interested in your little electric rat or any of your other weaklings," Jessie scoffed.

"That's right, we want all the powerful Pokémon you have here." James said.

"You can't. These Pokémon are in serious condition." Nurse Joy said. They were delivered from Professor Oak's lab and were almost finished with their check-up.

"So what? A Pokémon's a Pokémon," James said without the slightest hint of being fazed. "The Pokémon Centers are known for housing Pokémon, big or small. And THAT'S what Team Rocket wants."

Ash was angered when they were called weak. "You're REALLY starting to bug me.." He snarled.

"Isn't that cute?" Jessie mocks.

"What are you gonna do about it, boy?" James mocks.

"Meowth. Why don't we squash him like a bug?" Meowth suggests. Jul 23At their owner's command, Ekans and Koffing lunged at Ash, Misty, and Nurse Joy.

Misty yelled, "Run!" They all ran in the opposite direction to avoid getting trampled. Team Rocket's Pokémon crashed into the videophone at the front desk, tearing the wiring apart and sending sparks flying.

They all ran into a side room filled with rows upon rows of Pokéballs. Not long after, everything went dark.

"The lights!" Misty exclaimed, panting.

"They must have cut the power, but we got our own Pika-Power Source." Nurse Joy said.

As the lights turned on we see several Pikachu running along a treadmill and using their electricity like a backup generator.

"Amazing, look at all of the Pikachu," Misty said as she and Ash stared in awe.

"A Crisis situation has been triggered! Activating Emergency Poké Ball transfer sequence." The computer said, turning back on.

Getting to work Nurse Joy tried to send the Pokeballs in the room to the Pewter City Pokemon Center.

Unfortunately, Team Rocket had managed to find them. And their Pokémon barreled through the doors, with Koffing smashing into the Poké Ball shelves, knocking them all over the floor.

"Grab those Poké Balls, hurry!" Nurse Joy quickly instructed Ash and Misty.

"We don't have enough time! We can't just keep running!" Misty said.

"Yeah, you're right." Ash said, reaching to his belt. "Spearow I choose you!"

The Tiny Bird Pokémon burst out of the Pokéball with a roaring screech. Team Rocket's Ekans rose above Spearow to try and intimidate and scare the poor bird by giving a hiss of hunger, but Spearow gave an intimidating glare of its own, not in the least bit threatened.

Ekans dived, but Spearow was faster and avoided its fangs by flying and repeatedly flew into its head with a powerful divebomb.

"Spearow, use Peck!" Ash said as Spearow jabbed Ekans with the sharp beak Ash knew all too well.

"Ekans!" Ekans hissed in pain, as it was sent backwards.

"Ekans?!" Jessie exclaimed before growling at Spearow. "Peck on your own species, you little bird-brain!"

"You wanna see a real Peck? Spearow, use Fury Attack!" Ash said as Spearow rapidly pecked Ekans.

"So it wishes to have a Pokémon battle, huh? So be it." James said. "Koffing, use Tackle!"

"Koffing!" Flying in, Koffing was about to ram into Spearow.

"Leer, Spearow!" With the cold, menacing glare he had given Ash earlier, the Spearow sent fear into Koffing's eyes.

"Koff." Koffing whimpers.

"Come on you coward get up and fight! Don't be a fraidy cat!" Meowth snaps.

Ash quickly kept on with the attacks. "Spearow, Peck!" Flying in, Spearow pecks Koffing right in the center.

Jessie growled and said, "You're going to regret getting in our way, little pest!" Jessie then shouted, "Poison Sting, Ekans!" Ekans reared its head backward and fired a barrage of purple darts from its mouth, striking Spearow, who couldn't evade in time.

"Spear!" Spearow screams in pain.

"Koffing, Tackle!" James said as Koffing flew in and rammed into him.

"Spearow, no!" Ash gasped, seeing the bird hit the ground. "Are you alright?!"

"Spear." Spearow groans.

"Ha, birdies 'bout to go bye-bye!" Meowth grinned as Ekans and Koffing loomed over Spearow to finish the job.

Seeing Ash and his Pokémon were in trouble, Misty quickly took action and grabbed a Poké Ball of her own, "Staryu, help us out!" She threw the ball and it snapped open, revealing a brown starfish Pokémon with a red jewel in the middle.

"Staryu, use Water Gun attack!" Staryu then shot a jet of water from its head, knocking Koffing and Ekans away from Spearow.

"Thanks for the save." Ash said.

"Hey if you lose, we can't sort out the details of my bike and there is no way I'm handing over my Pokemon to these clowns." Misty smirks.

Staryu spun by Spearow, helping it up. "Hya?"

"Row." Spearow nods, saying he was alright.

"Ooh that's a bright gem." James said, looking at the gem in the middle of Staryu.

"I bet if we ripped that out we'd make a pretty penny." Jessie said.

Misty frowned in disgust, "Keep your grimey hands yourselves, creeps. Staryu, Swift!" Staryu fired a stream of stars from its gem at them.

"Koffing, Sludge attack!" James shouted as Koffing spat out toxic sludge, hitting the stars, but a few flew past it and hit both poison types.

"Ekans, Wrap attack!" Jessie said as Ekans lunged at Staryu, wrapping its body around the starfish and squeezed it.

"Staryu, use Rapid Spin!" Spinning quickly Staryu flew around with Ekans who was struggling to hang on tight.

"Koffing, use Sludge on that little egg head!" James said.

"Dodge and then use Fury Attack!" Ash said. Spearow ducked under the Sludge ball and moved in to deliver a number of scratches and pecks on Koffing, once more.

Seeing that they might lose this, Meowth realized he might have to be sneaky.

Behind them, Nurse Joy was amazed by how well they were holding Team Rocket off.

As they were about halfway through the Poké Balls, Meowth snuck towards the stretcher with Pikachu on it.

The mouse was still recharging its energy and was unaware of what was happening.

As Spearow flew up into the air avoiding Koffing's attack, he looked down and saw the cat approaching Pikachu.

"Spear!" Spearow yells warning Ash.

"Huh?" Ash turned around and his eyes widened. "Hey!" Grabbing the rails, Ash yanked the stretcher out of the way just as Meowth was about to lunge in, making him faceplant against the floor. "Don't think for a second I'm gonna let you hurt my Pikachu!" Ash snapped with anger in his eyes.

"Oh you want to go twerp?" Meowth said as his claws grew.

"Ash, we got these guys. Get Pikachu out of here!" Misty calls out.

"Right!" Ash said before grabbing Pikachu's stretcher and pushing it out of the room.

"Don't let him get away!" Meowth yells chasing after him.

The Poison Type and Scratch Cat Pokémon were behind Ash's tail, chasing him down the corridor and back into the main lobby. Ekans lunged at Ash's back, but he quickly made a U-turn to avoid it.

As he ran past the front counter, the stretcher ended up banging against Misty's bike causing Ash to stop and Pikachu to wake up.

He looked around and saw Ash about to be attacked by Team Rocket and their Pokemon. "PikaPika!!" Pikachu shouted, and all the Pikachus from the backup generator leaped down and dogpiled on top of Ash's Pikachu, getting the Pokémon's attention.

They all shouted, "Pikachu!" as they zapped Pikachu with electricity, also sending some of it toward Team Rocket's Pokémon, electrocuting them.

As the attack dies down, Ash's Pikachu emerges from the top of the pile looking as good as new.

"Pikapi!" Pikachu smiles.

"Pikachu!" Ash smiles.

"Where did all of these Pikachu come from?" James blinked, losing his calm status.

"You three were so focused on the Poké Balls; you didn't pay attention to anything else in the room." Ash mocked.

"Pika," Pikachu nodded before calling out to the other Pikachu. "Pikachu!"

"Pika!" In an instant, all of the Pikachu surrounded Team Rocket.

"Now we're the ones surrounded!" Jessie exclaimed.

"That's our thing!" James exclaimed.

"Now what?" Meowth stammered. Ekans and Koffing huddled together, fearfully.

"Now...prepare for 10 million volts of payback! THUNDERSHOCK!!"

"Pika Pika PIKACHU!" shouted all the Pikachus in the room, releasing a powerful electric attack that rivaled the one from the lightning storm.

All of the members of Team Rocket were all electrocuted to the bone, yelling in pain. Koffing had the worst reaction; due to the pain, it expelled gas from its body, intertwined with the electricity, which meant only one thing was about to happen.

"HIT THE DECK!" Ash, Misty, Nurse Joy, and all of the Pokémon dived behind the front desk before an explosion occurred.

From down the street, Officer Jenny came to a stop as she saw the smoke in the sky.

"I'm too late, but apparently not for the fireworks." She said in shock and awe.

She barely had enough time to notice Jessie, James, and Meowth were sent hurtling into the sky along with their hot air balloon, disappearing off into the distance.

When the smoke cleared, the Pokémon Center now had a fresh new hole in its ceiling, and the main lobby was in shambles.

"You might have gone a little overboard with that one." Misty said.

"Yeah no agreements here." Ash said.

"The Center can be rebuilt but what's most important is all the Pokemon are safe and sound thanks to you both." Nurse Joy said.

"It's no problem, always happy to help a Pokémon in need." Ash smiled as Pikachu hopped onto his left shoulder.

"Pikachu." He smiled and then looked surprised when Spearow landed on Ash's right shoulder.

"Spear." Spearow smiles, making Pikachu flinch slightly.

"Don't worry he's friendly." Ash assures.

"Thanks for your help, Staryu. Return." Misty said as she recalled the water type back into its Poké Ball.

"Misty, again I'm sorry about what happened to your bike. I don't know how much it would cost to repair but how much did the bike itself cost?" Ash asks.

"Well, it wasn't cheap, that's for sure. It was originally a birthday present." Misty admits.

Cringing Ash wasn't sure how he could pay her back.

"Well you said you needed help getting through the Viridian Forest. What if I helped you get through it as my way of saying sorry?" Ash offers.

Misty was surprised by the offer. She thought he would probably try to weasel himself out of paying her, but he was willing to take a bit of responsibility for the damages. "Well..if you put it that way, then I don't mind at all."

"Perfect, but uh, can we do this tomorrow? After today, I could use a good night sleep." Ash said.

"You and me both." Misty agrees.

The next morning...

After a good night's rest, Ash and Misty were now in front of the Pokémon Center, ready to say goodbye to Nurse Joy.

"So Officer Jenny never caught those thieves?" Misty asked.

"No, but she sent word to every police station around the region to keep an eye out for them." Nurse Joy said.

"If they're smart they'll never show their face in this town again." Ash said

"Well now everyone in Viridian can sleep well at night, knowing they're gone now." Nurse Joy smiled.

"Take care, Nurse Joy." Ash said.

"See you soon." Misty said as they walked away.

As Nurse Joy made her way back she noticed Misty's bike laying out by the curb.

"Hmm." Picking it up, Nurse Joy brings the damaged bike back inside.

After dealing with the likes of Team Rocket, making peace with Spearow and Misty, Ash's first day has ended but his journey is far from over as they head to the Viridian Forest and face the surprises lurking all around.
