At a signal from him, Chelsea reached up and pulled in the air, and Ness sagged in relief in my arms, free. Across the field, Jacob collapsed, though the wolves were all still under the influence of Alec.

I looked back to Chelsea, who took several deep breaths and nodded. "They are free of it, Isabella. He will recover soon. It was a bit stronger on his end and took a bit of force to break."

During this time, Aro had been busy reading Eleazor. He nodded, satisfied that Eleazor hadn't been keeping any major secrets, though I did see him eye Benjamin and Zafrina quickly. Aro and Caius had a quick hushed conversation, and then seemed to come to an agreement. "Isabella, I think we need to free your wolfy friends first and let them go home. These matters are not their concern."

"I would agree with that. Now that my friend is freed from his bonds, hopefully the pack can come together as one unit once more. Alec, would you mind lifting the fog from the one that fell only please?"

As the fog lifted, I saw Jacob transform to human form and quickly dress. He eyed us speculatively, then glanced around to his packs. "Is there a reason I've been freed alone? And what happened to my imprint? I can't feel it anymore, I feel…lighter." He then threw a pained glance at Renesmee. "I'm sorry Ness…"

"No, don't be sorry Jacob. Nessa felt the same way. She came to me about it a week or so ago. It seems someone in the Cullen Coven has been meddling, and if I had to guess, they used a fake imprint to keep the pack from attacking. I'm so sorry Jake."

"I'm not," he responded, "it may have been fake, but at least it helped me recover from my feelings for you. I can see clearly you are where you were meant to be."

Aro came up beside me and spoke up, "Yes well, we need to resolve the conflict with the covens and take disciplinary actions against whoever deserves it. Will the pack attack if we lift Alec's gift?"

Jake thought for a moment. "I don't think so. Release Sam, the largest black one, first, he can keep his pack in line. The 2 behind me can be released as well." As he said this, the fog started lifting from Sam's form and he stood straighter, shaking his head as if to clear cobwebs. "Sam, please phase. There is a lot to discuss, but we need the packs to be in control first. Can you keep them calm please?"

"Of course. What is happening here Jacob?"

Jake shook his head. "I'd like for us to only to have to repeat it once. Be prepared. Aro, please release the rest of the wolves, if you don't mind."

As Alec's fog retreated further, the pack came to life, growling and pawing at the ground. At a command from both Alphas, they were able to calm and stay in formation. Jake stood in front of them, "it has come to our attention that my imprint was forged by a member of the Cullens. It has been lifted, and my freedom restored."

At this Marcus spoke up in his raspy voice. "it appears that some of you have false mating bonds as well, though I'm not sure where they originate. Chelsea and I would like to help you rid yourselves of these bonds, if you agree. We will do nothing against your will."

At this Paul phased to human form and nodded vigorously. "Please. I can feel it, like a poison. I want nothing to do with her. Please remove it."

Chelsea looked to Marcus, who nodded. She raised her hands and after pulling a couple more times, Paul fell to his knees, his face full of relief. The rest of the pack started phasing back slowly, dressing and looking on curiously. Jared walked carefully to Pauls side, clapping him on the back and helping him to his feet.

Chelsea spoke up, "Sam, is it? Would you like us to remove your false imprint as well?"

At this, Sam turned to Leah, clear devastation on his face. "Yes please. I don't know who would do this to us, but they have destroyed my life. Please take it away." As Chelsea worked her magic, Sam slumped, eyes facing the ground. As he lifted his head, he returned his gaze to Leah, and they both gasped out loud.

Marcus clapped. "This is what we hoped to happen. With the chains removed, you will be free to find your true mates, as Sam here has." When he finished speaking, Leah leapt at Sam, tears running down her face, laughing freely for the first time in years. "There is one more that needs to be cleared." He turned to Quil. "Would you like to be free?" Quil sat down, defeated.

Jared had clear relief on his face. "Does that mean my mate is really mine then?" he begged.

Marcus nodded. "Yes, of the mated wolves, yours was the only bond that is that of a True Mate, a natural bond. Well, you and Sam, now." He nodded his head to Sam, who was holding Leah firmly to his side.

Quil spoke up from his place on the ground. "Please take it away. I plan to find out who was cruel enough to tie me to a baby, but I can't do that with the imprint in the way." He glanced first at Jake, then at Embry. "Will you both help me?" Jake nodded, and Sam spoke up from his place.

"We all will. A great injustice has been done to this pack, and we will find out why." As he spoke, Quil's bond was severed and he stood up straight, looking relieved.

"Now, I'm afraid that is all we can do for you. The rest you will need to resolve, as we must solve our own troubles. Please know, we have no intention of eradicating your pack." Aro nodded to them, moving back to speak quietly with Caius.

Eleazor kept glancing between Bella and the Cullens, a pensive look on his face. "Aro, I think I know how to figure out who has the gift we are looking for."
