The next morning there is a knock on her door which she feels is too early for a Sunday, grabbing her robe she throws it on. "Graham?" Ace says while opening the door.
"Morning, I brought coffee and donuts."
"It's early Graham."
"Kate already contacted me, you said I could come over."
"That I did, come in. I am just going to get changed. Make yourself at home." Ace smiles at him and heads to change. When she comes out she finds Graham has the donuts on some plates and the coffee on the table next to them.
"How early did Kate call you?"
"Around 8."
"I slept late?"
"It's only 9:30, I was already up when she phoned me."
"That's good, ever since I started my foundation, I wake up early.'
"Do you have any help with it, for when you are doing alien things?"
"Nyssa, Tegan's partner, also used to travel with the Doctor. Only got to earth about 15 years ago."
"She isn't from Earth?"
"No she isn't, but when she stopped traveling with the Doctor, Tegan and Turlough, she ended up on a medical ship. She spent about 15 years there then was trapped in E-Space for a while. During that time her husband died and her kids started to grow up."
"Was she able to get her kids here," Ace smiles and nods her head.
"Adric does work for UNIT while Neeka does some work for A Charitable Earth from time to time. You can say, I am like an aunt for both of them."
"You are looking very happy for them."
"I am. I am also thinking of seeing if Neeka will want to come on full time. She is more in touch with youth than I or her mother are."
"If you want to start a video blog channel, I am sure Ryan would love to help."
"He hasn't even met me yet?"
"I did tell him about the most recent encounter with the Doc last night, and it included you, especially since most of my interaction was with you."
"You told him about me," Ace scrunches her lips together. Graham looks at them then back to her eyes when Ace's phone goes off. "I better get that." She looks at her phone, "It's Tegan."
"Good morning, Tegan."
"I am on my way. Do you want me to pick you up anything?"
"Graham has brought me coffee and donuts."
"Ohh Graham."
"He is over, so he can get some work done that Kate wanted him to do."
"Just work huh?"
"Shuff it Tegan, the 3 of us can work on it all."
"Will he be looking at you the whole time?"
"Tegan," Ace says with a sigh.
"I am going to have so much fun," she says with a laugh, "I should tell you Nyssa is also with me."
"That's ok," Ace thinks for a second, 'if I am right it will be good for Nyssa to see Graham out of the office first so she doesn't freak when she sees this man showing up randomly.'
"Are you there Ace?"
"I am, I will see the two of you when you get here." Ace hangs up and faces Graham whose glasses are falling down his nose.
"Was that Tegan?"
"It was, both her and Nyssa are on their way."
"Cool."
"You should know that Tegan will probably be up to what she was up to while we were at the café last night."
"Teasing you?"
"Yes," Ace leans back against the couch, throwing her head back.
"Will Nyssa add to it?"
"I don't know," she turns her head still leaning over the couch a bit and looks at Graham who is smiling down at her. "Graham?"
"Yes?"
"You ok with being the target a bit too?"
"Eh, it's ok, at least I will have more people to bounce ideas off of."
"All you need to write about is what you did, how you did. You don't have to put in extra forms, since you are not on the UNIT payroll."
"Kate did ask me if I wanted to join UNIT after she gets a new building."
"Until then what will you be doing?"
"Maybe getting to know you and planning the meeting for companions." Ace blushes and at that point Tegan and Nyssa walk in the door, Tegan elbows her partner who also sees how flushed Ace is.
Whispering quietly to Tegan, "do not tease her right now."
"Ok," Ace looks away from Graham and sits up straight when she sees her two friends.
"Graham," he looks away from her as he follows her line of sight and stands up, "this is Nyssa."
"Nice to meet you Nyssa."
"Nice to meet you too Graham, I hear you met our Ace in a unique way."
"The only way to meet friends of the Doc, well most of the time."
"You are meeting me in a normal way."
"As of right out of the 6 friends of the Doc, I have met you are the only one I have met in the most normal way."
"Least favorite way?"
"Captain Jack, he just popped where we were one day, and kissed me."
"How did you feel about it?"
"Eh."
Ace tries to say under her breath, but the Trakenite can hear what she is saying, "I bet you were a good kisser." Nyssa smiles at her friend knowing what Tegan said was true about the two.
"What was your favorite meeting?"
Smiling large looking at Ace, Graham replies, "in a volcano about to blow up Daleks."
"On that topic, let's get started on what we set out to do today." Ace says wanting to stop what she knows Tegan will start teasing. They get out their work as they all move to the kitchen table. Ace and Graham right next to each other. Tegan and Nyssa watch as the two get right to work and flirting between the two across from them.
Hours later the 4 adults sit back finally done with what they needed to get done. "Thank you guys for your help."
"Anytime." Ace gives him a small smile.
"You two sure do like to flirt," Tegan jests.
"What?"
"Flirt you know what it is, the two of you were doing it a lot today."
"We have not." Ace says.
"Tegan leave them be."
"I will…. For now." Tegan and Nyssa take their leave.
Ace and Graham just stand there staring at the other, "umm," Graham says.
"Umm," Ace tries and thinks about why she is so nervous now.
"I better go. Can I swing by tomorrow?"
"Come by A Charitable Earth."
"Ok. I had fun today Ace."
"I did too." Ace walks him to the door. "Night Graham," she looks at his lips then to his eyes. "I will see you tomorrow," their heads move closer as Graham's phone goes off.
"That will be Ryan." Graham smiles again at Ace and picks up his phone.
