Tony Stark 3
It was 2011, and a year had passed since his arrival in this world, seven months since he was given the Teseractor, and since the presentation of his new company and Extremis, which shocked the world of medicine globally, and even before it was approved by the corresponding evaluation institutions, had already caused several uproars.
Ordinary people who felt a foot in the grave were not planning to wait three to five years for Extremis to be approved for use; they wanted their version to prolong life and restore youth, and they wanted it immediately, claiming that depriving them of Extremis was a blatant assault on their sacred right to continue screwing around on the planet with their unpleasant presence, or something like that.
With tens of thousands of lawsuits in the first week alone, it was also shown that, as a side effect, Extremis was the world's best antivirus against disease, although it did not work against bacteria, as these were also cells and were affected by the Extremis potency. In addition, Extremis was effective against degenerative diseases, making it almost the perfect panacea for a person's health. Any dying person with two fingers on the pulse would be willing to use it, and any obstacle in their way would be their enemy, even the government.
The government saw all this and, before the violence broke out, was quick to launch a decree law so that anyone who presented a liability waiver and a medical diagnosis could undergo treatment with Extremis at their own risk.
Thus, only a month after its creation and without its infrastructure being complete, Extremis Corp began to operate, which exponentially increased its security. At that time, it had more than fifty thousand security guards all over the country, armed to the teeth and with war tanks and state-of-the-art combat helicopters in the three Extremis production plants, since this drug was considered as dangerous as an explosive device, and its control was extreme.
If a single dose disappeared from where it was being administered, everyone present would be detained until it was found. For its computer security, the company had its own servers and its own network, controlled by Susan, another version of Jarvis.
Foreign countries were also demanding Extremis, but if they did not meet Extremis Corp's security requirements and facilities, they would not open any centers there. So they were setting up facilities for Extremis Corp all over the world, even in Africa.
Outside of all this corporate business, Tony had his own issues, like delivering the superweapons he promised to SHIELD and Hydra. Although Hydra didn't know he already knew of their existence, Tony had set everything up to deliver them three thousand suits of armor in a month and their own Extremis production facilities, so they were excited about the idea. However, Nick Fury was not excited at all and, at this moment, he was with three of his most trusted agents, the only ones Tony remembered from the movies.
They were in his lab receiving the Extremis Super and were now testing the armor with which they would begin an assault on their own base in just a few hours, which was putting Nick Fury in a bad mood.
"How do you know Arnim Zola has all the names of the spy agents?" Nick Fury asked, since Tony had revealed his plan to them before the raid.
"Because he is one of the leaders of Hydra and they consider him one of the safest. Now I'll go get him, download his information, decode it and we can take care of Hydra. Alarm bells will probably go off when I get hold of Zola, but nothing can be done. Some of those already in hiding will be able to escape easily, but public figures and agents working on a base will be in a more difficult position," said Tony.
"I will declare an emergency protocol as soon as you leave here. Anyone who attempts to flee will be apprehended," said Fury, checking the mobility of his own platinum-black armor and taking flight for the first time.
He had no problem, as Tony had already created an interface so that every registered user could use the armor at expert level.
"Are you sure these armors won't fail to recognize our agents?" asked Hawkeye, whose armor was metallic blue, Black Widow's was red and Coulson's was black.
In addition to these, there were three thousand other armors that would be controlled by Jarvis during the initial phase of the cleanup operation that would begin in a few more minutes. To that end, they had moved the armors around the country so that they would reach all loyal SHIELD bases and agents in the shortest possible time once the identity of the Hydra agents was confirmed.
"As soon as I manage to get Zola's information, I will send the names of the infiltrated agents to Jarvis, who will mark them as enemies and give access to the armors to the rest, who will join the operation – Tony said confidently, since the data of all the agents had been provided by Nick Fury himself, and if any identification failed, it would be their own fault.
""If you say Zola is at the old SHIELD base, how do you plan to get there undetected?" asked the Black Widow.
Tony disappeared in front of them and appeared behind them, then came back to the front, leaving them surprised. He wasn't wearing any armor, but before they spoke, some sort of substance came out of his chest, covering his entire body with a Vibranium nano-suit, similar to Black Panther's and black in color, but the mask had no eyes or any facial features. Then, more nanomachines came out and created Iron Man's armor, red and gold. Finally, the helmet and hood retracted into the rest of the suit.
"Chief, I think they gave us the old model," Black Widow accused reproachfully. Nick Fury looked indignant.
"I plan to give you one of these, but they are handmade and very slow to manufacture. One armor per month, this is the first prototype," Tony explained, and he wasn't lying.
There was no machine capable of creating the armor he wore, as he had made it by hand using the space gem to create each nanomachine that made up the armor.
"Where do all those things that make up the armor come from?" Hawkeye asked, looking at the suit Tony was wearing earlier, shattered on the floor.
Tony pulled the armor away from his chest, revealing two fragments of his skin about a centimeter in diameter that definitely wasn't skin, but it didn't look like something artificially embedded either, as it didn't protrude in any way. He also removed some fragments on her legs and calves that had matching access points.
"These are access points that go straight to my bones, where the nanomachines are stored. At first it was hard to make room because my bones were in the way, but after replacing my skeleton, it was easy to make room," explained Tony, who had made himself a Vibranium skeleton.
"Boss, forget about the technological advances. This armor is very comfortable and doesn't need any upgrades," said Black Widow, and Coulson and Hawkeye were quick to nod.
Fury also looked at him with disgust. Tony smiled.
Now that you are Extremis super-soldiers, your body is able to withstand this procedure with ease. Even more severe operations are also possible. And having a designer skeleton has enormous advantages.
"With the Extremis, the weight limit we can carry depends on our bones, and with a skeleton that has as much strength as these armors, they can add super strength to super regeneration," Tony explained, as he wouldn't change his skeleton just because he didn't carry a small chest plate. He had changed his skeleton to give himself super strength.
Tony could now lift up to thirty tons and overpower the quintessential super soldier that was Captain America with no problem. The four agents didn't look convinced, so Tony shrugged.
"What about the ability to teleport?" Fury asked. Tony smiled.
"About that, well, there are a few things I have to tell you," said Tony, and a holographic screen appeared in front of him.
On the screen, was himself in front of the Teseractor, which was in some sort of press and shattered under the pressure. Fury's eyes widened like saucers and he immediately looked at it with murderous fury. Tony only indicated to him to keep watching, for from the remains of the Teseractor, the Tony in the video pulled out a small blue gem. The video paused.
"As I assume you understand after watching this video, I never wanted the Teseractor, only this gem inside it, which is known as the Infinity Gem and which is an object of which there are only five others in the entire universe.
"This is known as the Gem of Space, and whoever possesses it and is able to use it, can move anywhere in this universe in a second. He can even, if he is able to withstand such power, move whole galaxies out of place and take them wherever he sees fit.
"There is also the Gem of Time, the use of which needs no explanation, the Gem of the Mind, the Gem of the Soul, the Gem of Power and the Gem of Reality. These gems are a treasure said to be created from the universe itself, 'and whoever possesses them all will be able to control everything at will.
"While that is true, as I told you, using these gems requires a body equivalent in power and a normal human would die instantly just by touching one of them. So using them all at once is suicide and is only allowed to supreme beings in this universe.
"Outside of this, there are incredibly powerful entities capable of destroying this planet with their armies or causing great destruction with their intervention alone, who seek these jewels desperately and are capable of anything to possess them.
"And now that I have used the power of the space gem, those ambitious and powerful people will look to Earth and want the space gem…" Tony hastily threw up his hands to ward off the wrath of Fury and his agents.
"Calm down. There were already stocks that knew the gem was on our world, but they dare not come because there is someone extremely powerful, even more powerful than these powerful beings, protecting the Earth.
"The problem is that this person already has a short time to live, and his heir is a useless wimp. If we don't hurry to arm the Earth as soon as possible, when that person dies, the many terrible entities who want the space and time jewel will come after us, and without any power to defend ourselves, the Earth will be wiped out.
"Because of all this, I have decided to use the power of the gem, and I am also equipping SHIELD with an army powered by power sources derived from it," Tony explained. Furthermore, of all the people capable of using this gem, I am the only one on this planet who is capable of using it to give us the best results. Others have already had it in their hands, but they have only made botched jobs. I, in just one year, have already created an army to defend us," said Tony.
Fury looked at his own armor and couldn't object much.
"Just remember that gem belongs to SHIELD," Fury warned.
"Actually, it belongs to that person who protects Earth, but now that it's in my hands, you, he and anyone else can forget about getting it back," Tony said sincerely. Fury looked at him with indignation.
"I can move anywhere in the universe and nothing can stop me. Threatening me is pointless, and keeping me happy will be to Earth's advantage," Tony reminded him before Nick started ranting about his loss.
Fury gritted his teeth as he realized what he was saying was true.
"Where's the time gem?" He asked with a growl, "Do you have it too? Is that why you can see the future?" Fury asked, coming to a reasonable conclusion, but Tony shook his head.
"My knowledge of the future has nothing to do with the time gem, but yes, I know where it is, although I must warn you that if I have not gone for it and am not able to obtain it, even now that I possess the space gem, it is because it is in the hands of an army of sorcerers. It is used by one of them, whom they call the Sorcerer Supreme, and it is not because it sounds pretty.
"In the past, she and this being protecting Earth were teammates on the same team. So if SHIELD dares to try to get their claws on this gem, they won't know what killed them, as these guys don't use technology but magic, and they have many methods of dealing with technology, including opening portals to wherever they please, even into your bathroom while you're taking a shower.
"They're also not a danger, as before SHIELD existed, these wizards were already protecting Earth for centuries from magical threats and other planes of existence, things that technology has a hard time dealing with.
"If you want to talk to them "respectfully", they have a sanctuary at 177th Bleecker Street. I repeat, don't get smart, or you'll die without knowing what killed you. Only go there if you want help coordinating the defense of the planet. After all, they have the same work area, they might want to collaborate if they act sincerely," advised Tony.
"I'll think about it," growled Fury, who was still upset about his blatant theft of the space gem. But he couldn't do anything to get it back, not even Odin could, as he was too weak to face him, assuming he wanted to face him and just wouldn't go to another planet.
"Let's get this operation started then!" Tony said, and his mask and helmet returned. Fury nodded and also closed his helmet to head for the exit.
"Jarvis, on this operation, follow Nick Fury's orders for the use of the armor. After the operation, they will be in your hands," Tony ordered.
"As you wish, sir," said Jarvis.
…
Tony disappeared and appeared above the old SHIELD foundation base, where Zola's lair was located. As soon as he arrived, Tony used the space gem, which was now inside his skeleton and which in turn was the interface to use, to seal the space around the base and prevent Zola from sending any information. Not even light could get in or out of there, and it became total darkness. However, as the light went out, emergency plants were activated and the place lit up as if it were night.
Tony moved directly to Zola's hideout, a server room, and there he logged on to the computer.
…
"Who are you? What are you doing?" Zola asked a few minutes later, as an enhanced Jarvis began to take control of the place.
Tony was wearing his armor, so he was impossible to recognize. Tony didn't answer and just waited while Jarvis, to whom he had made a bridge so he could communicate with him, finished taking control of the program known as Zola, who was his main target in this operation, even before Hydra, because this guy had a lot of valuable information, including the process that digitized his mind.
"Stop it, Tony Stark!" Zola scolded. It seemed she had guessed his identity, though it wasn't surprising, since Hydra had learned about his armor from his infiltrators.
Tony chuckled. He wasn't doing much, just programming the explosive device he would leave there to dispose of Zola's servants. It was a small disk containing an arc reactor that would destabilize in a few minutes and destroy the place, leaving no contaminating trash behind. There were Zola's servers, but this was cleanup.
"Zola, if you had acted the moment Jarvis tried to enter your server, you would have had a chance. But now that Jarvis has already invaded everything, you can only pray," said Tony.
"You can't kill me, I'm a digital life form," growled Zola, whose face appeared on several ancient screens in front of him.
"Nonsense, all I have to do is destroy all these servers and you are locked in here. This will be the end of you," said Tony casually. Zola grunted, but other than that, there wasn't much he could do.
"Sir, that's it, the information has been copied, transmitting to SHIELD," Jarvis reported.
"Thanks Jarvis," said Tony and, after activating the space gem, Zola's servers turned into small pieces of their components. Then he would have to see if Zola had any backup servers.
…
His mission over, Tony returned to his mansion. Fury had three thousand suits of armor under his command and enough Extremis to save him any losses. As with Extremis Corp, his involvement was minimal. He just had to get the Information from the Hydra agents, provide Fury with the proper tools and let the government itself clean up his mess….
"Mr. Stark, I have located a priority 1 target," said Jarvis, as alarms sounded throughout the lab.
Tony, who was already in his vibranium suit and preparing to test his matter rearrangement machine, to begin practicing its use, grimaced.
His current vibranium suit, skeleton and armor were not the work of this machine, as creating it had taken him almost a year and he hadn't even tested it yet. Nor had he stolen Captain America's shield. He had simply entered the black market and sought out Ulysses Klaue, and sent ten of his men to negotiate with him. With the space gem in his hands and after locating him, getting the vibranium was a matter of dropping many millions and threatening to steal it if he did not deliver it.
Thus, Tony created his Vibranium skeleton and his two suits: one for protection and adjustment and the other for war. Now he intended to use his new machine to start experimenting with matter rearrangement, but one of his priority targets appeared on the radar, and that meant this was a planet-wide issue and he couldn't let it go. Besides, this was a priority target because of a more important issue, and that was his own life.
"Jarvis, give me his location," said Tony.
Jarvis transferred the coordinates, and Tony moved to his room to put on a casual suit over his vibranium suit and head to the indicated location.
As he arrived, he saw a girl enjoying the view of London Bridge. She looked like a teenager, but from her gaze on the horizon, you could tell she was already screwed up with life. The girl looked at him and after blinking, frowned.
"Tony Stark? Asked the teenage girl, about twelve or fourteen years old, fair skin, short, flame-colored hair, with eyes that looked like aqua green.
She was Sprite, one of the Eternals, and a priority target because of Tiamut, the Celestial who would be born in a few more years, and who Tony would not allow this group of idiots to kill. That could be detrimental to earth in the future and bring more conflict, not to mention that now that he is here, things could change and disaster could strike. Therefore, this is an event that he cannot leave to chance.
On the other hand, he sought out Sprite because he has something to bargain with for her support, and she is one of the few people in this world who can stand by his side.
Sprite was one of the most hated characters by fans because of his desire to be an adult, even at the price of giving up his immortality, which was disliked by many. The reason behind this was simply an infatuation for a guy, not to mention that in the comics, she was him.
On the other hand, she didn't care about her mission as one of the Eternals, and only participated in the final battle to support the person she liked, which meant she was always selfish and never thought about her friends or humanity. She didn't care about them. She was perfect for his future plans, as he could count on her help and trust that she would never betray him or appeal to ethics or morals. She would be practical. For that reason, Tony smiled at her.
"Will you come with me if you want to grow up?" Tony asked with a smile. Sprite tensed and looked around.
Tony took the opportunity to look her up and down, for this girl herself was an impressive piece of technology. A full-fledged bioandroid and also one that had abilities of her own, given to her by an almost cosmic entity. He could learn many things if he managed to study her thoroughly.
"How do you know about me?" asked Sprite, her body tensing and looking at him with some suspicion, as she caught him looking at her. However, he didn't run away, and that meant that she was already under his control.
"Sprite, I'm Tony Stark, and I know a few things about yours. I know what you want, and I can give it to you if you let me study you, but in return, I want you to help me with yours and also let me know if their bosses want to make any strange moves," Tony said.
"Do you want me to betray mine?" asked Sprite, taking a step back, but she still hadn't run away, she was just being prissy.
Tony already knew that her morals were not very good and that she was willing to make sacrifices for what she wanted.
"If you'll join me, we can have dinner and talk things over. I'm sure we can understand each other if I tell you some things your bosses have kept from you, and you'll see that I'm offering you more than a change of appearance," Tony explained, holding out his hand.
Sprite hesitated for a few seconds, but in the end, he held out his hand.
They appeared in the dining room of their kitchen, where Jarvis was already preparing lunch. Tony let go of Sprite's hand and went to sit at the head of the table.
Sprite looked around in surprise, as three Jarvis robots were preparing the food at breakneck speed.
"Are they robots?" asked Sprite, going to sit on the other side.
"Something like that, Jarvis is a semi-intelligent program, and these are its terminals," explained Tony.
"Are we in America?" asked Sprite, seeming to have somehow noticed the time change. Tony nodded.
"We're in my mansion, Malibu, California," Tony explained.
"How?" asked Sprite.
"Do you know about the infinity gems?" asked Tony.
"I've heard some legends, nothing concrete," said Sprite.
"Mystical objects very powerful, even more than your bosses, although the use of their power requires a body capable of resisting it, so the power I can use is limited," explained Tony sincerely.
"What do you know about my bosses?" asked Sprite, without revealing anything, perhaps she didn't know about the gems either.
"More than you, but not much. The Celestials are a mystery. They create galaxies and worlds. Sometimes, they bring their servants to them to assist in the evolution of their intelligent species, and from these planets, Celestials are born. The fact that you have been brought here means that a Celestial will be born on this planet, but the worlds where Celestials are born are destroyed. That is why I have brought you here, to prevent this planet from being destroyed and to prevent the Celestial from dying and causing us some future retaliation.
"As for your payment, I think that besides growing up, you would appreciate your freedom, because once the Celestial is born, your memories will be erased and you will be taken to another world to take care of it and help in the evolution of its inhabitants," explained Tony, while Sprite clenched his fists.
"You're lying!" he accused angrily. We were born in Olympia, and now we are the guardians of this world," said Sprite.
"No, they are biodroids created by the Celestials in their forge world. Your friend Thena is not crazy, she only remembers the last world she was on, which was destroyed by a Celestial, killing billions of lives. That's why she's so angry," explained Tony calmly.
Sprite was stunned and shocked. Tony let her think in peace while Jarvis brought her some wine to whet her appetite.
"I'm not a living thing, I'm just a robot," Sprite muttered in a whisper.
"No, you're not a robot, and you're making a lot of drama over unimportant things. You've lived for thousands of years and you've always been you. Humans live at most a hundred years, you should think with some perspective," said Tony. By the way, have you ever been bored of living?" he added, because that was an interesting question. Sprite looked at him angrily.
"I've lived doomed, looking like I hate, being cheated… Believe me, I haven't enjoyed my life," he said with a growl.
"There are worse fates. You could have lived your whole life with a horrible skin disease, paralyzed, needing others to wipe your ass, suffering chronic pain… The possibilities are endless," Tony concluded.
He wouldn't cry for someone who had been given thousands of years to live, for it wasn't as if the Celestials had a snare tied around their necks.
"I don't think you hate your own appearance either. You just want to change someone else's perception of you, although I can't say whether that's right or wrong because I've lived two lifetimes and have yet to love more than my closest family, and now I have none of that," Tony explained and took a sip of wine.
"Sir, lunch is ready," said Jarvis.
"Thank you, Jarvis. Please serve us," said Tony.
"Can't you understand? It's not simple. Would you like to be intimate with me? That's all it takes to understand me," replied Sprite, wiping away a tear.
"If you mean sex, I like women with really nice curves, and you're too flat. So if I had my choice, I'd go elsewhere. But as I've said before, I've never loved anyone, and I'm not interested in doing so, I'm very happy as I am now, and I would feel suffocated if I had to share my life with someone else. So the error in your words should be clear to you.
"If it's love you're looking for, your looks shouldn't matter. If the person you like has known you for centuries and still can't see beyond that, he's simply never going to love you, even if you change your body," Tony explained, for he hadn't experienced the feeling called love, but he had seen it.
Sprite pounded the table, but Tony was not surprised, for denial and anger went hand in hand. He looked at his food, a plate of lasagna with a beautiful golden color on top and some slices of bread.
"The pain you are feeling, I don't understand it either, for I have never felt it, but I can understand it, for in the past I wished for many things that I could never have. It is an unpleasant feeling, and accepting it is difficult, so I will not be hypocritical and tell you that you must forget.
"Moreover, if you wish, among the gems of infinity is the Gem of the Mind, and also the Gem of Reality. Get them, and everything you want from the one you love will be yours," said Tony. Sprite tensed and looked at him warily.
"Is that the kind of thinking that repels people?" asked Tony with a smile. Sprite nodded reluctantly, "Do you think the Celestials think about it when they destroy billions of lives on other worlds? Do you think they don't have the power to stop it? Do you think they even need them? Did you know that in this universe there are many entities of supreme power? How many of them have you seen care about any other creature? They only care about themselves and making things go according to their designs.
"There is no right or wrong for them, the only ones who care about those concepts are us, small and short-lived beings, so confused and ignorant of everything around us, always wanting little things that are out of our reach, and then getting bored quickly when we have them in our hands.
"Our morals are our chains, though I like my chains, I even find them entertaining. Rules and order are what I love most about my life. A world without them, without constraints, that would be boring," Tony explained, tasting some lasagna with some bread, then sipping some wine. It was just beautiful.
Sprite thought and moved away from the table, so that Jarvis, who was waiting, could serve him.
Sprite ate next to him, while he thought. Tony didn't keep talking and also enjoyed his food and wine. When he finished eating, he went to his game room and started playing video games, which Jarvis had improved graphically and also altered some parts that he thought were crap or nonsense, which ruined his fun.
Now he was playing the Soul Reavers saga, a masterpiece that was now in 8K, with graphics from thirty years in the future, but with all the plot unchanged from the original game, as he did not consider it to be badly done in any way….
"Is this fun for you?" asked Sprite, approaching the side of his chair. His tone was somewhat contemptuous. Tony did not stop playing.
"On a par with my favorite books, these are worlds I can almost feel. What did you enjoy in your long years of life? Did you read any good books?" asked Tony.
"I've been to ancient Mesopotamia, I've seen its rise and fall!" he said proudly. Tony grimaced.
"If watching savages in guaiacs all day was your greatest amusement, I can understand why you are now disappointed in your life," said Tony with a sigh.
Sprite looked at him angrily as he clenched his fists.
"I didn't see savages in guaiacs, we were there to help humanity, we laid the foundations of your current civilization," Sprite said coldly. Tony stopped playing and looked at her side.
"That's great! What did you do? What foundations did you create? The wheel? Painting? Writing? Music? Agriculture? Theater? Society?" Tony asked and looked at her expectantly. Sprite looked at him uncomfortably.
"He was fighting deviants, creatures….
"Created to entertain them," Tony interrupted. Sprite looked at him blankly. The Celestials told them they were there to protect humanity from the deviants, but think about it. These beings are almost cosmic entities, if they wanted to get rid of the deviants, a simple snap of the fingers would be enough. So why were the deviants still there? Simple, they were there to entertain you and for humans to see you as their saviors.
"They were never a real threat, just part of a theater. I don't think you should be proud of that, and if that's all you have to brag about… Your life is somewhat disappointing," said Tony.
Sprite's face first turned red with embarrassment, then fury came and she pulled out a dagger to stab him, but a spatial barrier stopped her and Tony went back to his video game ignoring her completely. She threw a tantrum and warned him that she would soon come with her friends to teach him a lesson, then left.
…
Two hours after she left, Sprite returned. Tony knew he would be back, and since he didn't want to be interrupted while he was practicing with the matter rearrangement machine, lest some small world disaster occur, he kept playing along.
"You need better security, I've been out and back in without a problem," Sprite declared, as if he hadn't threatened to bring his gang there earlier to beat him up.
"Do you want the job of security consultant? Someone skilled in illusions could really come in handy," said Tony, for his security was indeed flawed when it came to matters of the mind.
"I want money and a mansion," said Sprite.
"It can be arranged if you agree to work with me. I'll also need to study your body if you want to grow, and to find out if the Celestials left any surprises in it, which is most likely.
"If you agree to this deal, I'll give you five percent of the shares of Extremis Corp. That will make you a lot of money, because even without being officially on the market, it already produces billions of dollars a year in profits," Tony explained.
"As long as you don't intend to dissect me, that's fine," said Sprite cautiously.
"Of course," said Tony. Do you want to play for a while?" asked Tony.
"I don't waste my time on such things," said Sprite contemptuously.
"Ah, a heretic," said Tony. Don't you want to try the temptations of a carefree life?" asked Tony suggestively.
…
The next day, the sound of a phone call woke him up. Tony opened his eyes and yawned, then looked at the indicator flashing at the side of his vision, indicating that it was a video call, as his skeleton and armor had some built-in advantages. He activated the call with a thought and a holographic display appeared in front of him.
"Fury? What do you need? If you have any repairs to make, I've already given them a complete kit to install in your own base and also a sister of Jarvis," Tony said with a yawn.
"Stark, what the hell are you doing while we're risking our lives? You're with a woman?" Fury asked with a twitch in his eye.
Tony blinked, Tony Stark's reputation as a womanizer was too great.
Now that he got a good look at him, Fury was in an armchair, but behind him there seemed to be a bit of a mess. Tony saw the time. It was already mid-morning, almost a day since Fury began his Hydra cleanup operation, but from the mess and his sour face, it looked like they were just finishing their work. Tony also understood the reason for this call and Fury's annoyance.
"Fury, I'm touched that you're worried about me, but I can take care of myself. In fact, yesterday I was minding my own business and had one of the best days off in a year. I've been working too hard this past year," Tony explained. Fury gritted his teeth, but then sighed.
"Hydra is out, at least from the US. We've arrested their leaders and infiltrated both SHIELD and the other agencies and the military. We'll take care of their bases overseas. My agents need some rest now. Thanks for your help, Stark. SHIELD won't forget this favor," said Fury in a serious tone.
"You're welcome, restock your agents and choose those with the best merit and common sense to become super soldiers. I'm expanding my lab for a proper nanotech armor factory. I will also create some interesting devices that will make life easier for your agents.
"Just don't forget that our main enemies are outside and not inside. Don't become a second Hydra, wanting to control everything," Tony warned just as seriously. Fury nodded and cut the communication.
Tony went back to stretching out on his big bed in comfort and contentment. Being rich really was a pleasure. Besides, he had told the truth, yesterday and last night were the best since he had arrived there. He had simply forgotten to have fun, he was too desperate to take care of everything, but now that Hydra was a rat on the run, he could take it easy and enjoy his life.
Sprite and his palpable depression made him realize that you couldn't live to work, even with a threat hanging over your head. The best thing to do was to have as much fun as he could. But he had forgotten that upon arriving here, overwhelmed by the multiple threats and fearful that his actions would create a greater or unknown danger.
Tony smiled and, after taking a bath and getting dressed, woke Sprite and called her to breakfast.
Sprite got up haggard and tired, to sit down to breakfast in front of him.
"Tony, I don't need to eat, it's just a habit," Sprite complained.
"I don't either, but it's one of life's pleasures, and you have the potential to enjoy them," Tony said, and Sprite blushed.
She had said his games were nonsense, but she had ended up screaming and fooling around with him all night, trying one game after another.
"I'm not a hedonist!" Sprite chided. Tony grimaced as Jarvis served him his breakfast.
"Ah, you're just pitiful. Just eat and let me teach you to enjoy life, I'm a specialist," Tony said proudly.
…
An hour later, they were in his lab.
"Well, part of enjoying life is that you shouldn't overdo things, you have to be mindful of the work. Then the rewards taste better," Tony explained.
"What's that, you made yourself a throne in this place?" asked Sprite, ignoring him completely and pointing to the matter reorganizer, which was at the back of the lab, about a hundred meters away from them.
The machine was something like a throne, but a metallic one, whose crown was a helmet with a multitude of wires. Behind it, a sort of three-by-three box, where all the other components were, since the front was only the control chair and the interface for his brain.
"No, my ego is not that big. This is a machine that, together with the space gem, will allow me to reorganize matter at the atomic level, and that means the legendary dream of turning lead into gold come true, although gold is an element of little value to me, and I'm not interested," explained Tony.
"I think we had a similar machine on our ship," said Sprite, and Tony tensed, remembering the Eternals' ship. He was a complete idiot to forget about it.
"Where is it?" asked Tony, as he had forgotten that information, he really wasn't a fan of the Eternals, they were too dumb for him to like them, almost all immortal characters were idiots in his eyes.
"What do you want to do with her?" Sprite asked with confusion.
Tony rolled his eyes, but in honor of his life apprentice, he decided to answer.
"It's technology from a civilization beyond Earth standards, I could learn a lot there, and also advance my study project on you, so it's a priority to get to that ship," explained Tony.
…
Sprite nodded and gave him the location of the ship, buried under a desert in Iraq. Tony shook his hand, and they appeared inside the ship; the space gem was the ultimate mystical object when it came to moving through space.
As they arrived, a black woman appeared in front of them in a blur and began to beckon to Sprite, then was stunned when Tony raised his hand and she found herself encased in a shield.
"This is a bonus, if I study her, I may be able to discover the mechanism that gives them their abilities – Tony said, knowing that the Eternals could share their powers and also strengthen them.
The woman, who was mute, something incomprehensible for a biodroid, looked at Sprite with incomprehension.
"Will she be all right later?" asked Sprite.
"Of course, there are already scanners and blood samples, I don't dissect people," said Tony with a sigh.
"Then do what you want," said Sprite, and the woman looked at her in horror before passing out. Sprite looked at him.
"A little commotion, so it won't bother us while we're here," said Tony, looking at the mess of ancient art strewn all over the place.
He would have to donate all this to some museum, as he had to bring an army of Jarvis to this place to reverse engineer this whole ship and pass his technology on to his own lab.
NA 1: Hello everyone. Our MC has gotten a low morale henchman just like him. I have ruled out Pepper because she seems to have certain limits. Black Widow wants her redemption, Wanda hates Tony and Sprite has something she desperately wants that Tony can give her. Plus, her morals square perfectly with the MC's plans.
NA 2: In the next chapter we'll see Thor, but don't expect him to be the main character, because the MC thinks he's a waste and won't pay attention to him. Those who will appear more will be the magicians of Kamar-Taj: Ancient One, Wong and Kaecilius.
