Spider-Man: Look out! Here comes the Spider-Man! It's my birthday today, and what's a better gift than a new adventure with my hedgehog pal, Sonic. Some weird monster thing showed up out of nowhere and kidnapped the whole city, draining everything and everyone of color. On our way to save them, we fought Mister Negative and saved a kid version of Ruby. Whatever's happening doesn't make sense, but I'll figure this place out!

BGM-Sonic Generations OST-Hub: General

A strangely dense purple fog is blocking the path to the Upper East Side district that Modern Sonic is running along. He chuckles thinking his supersonic speed will penetrate it easy but all he did was make himself look stupid as he's repelled with great electrocuting force, flying past Amazing Spider-Man who casually remarks, "Interesting. Looks like a space-time barrier. A sturdy one at that. Something doesn't want us from exploring the rest of the city. Thanks for testing it out."

"You're welcome…" Sonic retorted through pained sarcasm, "Figure out how to get rid of it."

"Not yet. Still lacking data. Let's go check out Harlem for now." Spidey decided, swinging alongside Sonic's running toward their next destination. "Just spitballing here, but do you think that Monster from the Shadow Realm is the Ultimate Evil we were warned about? The one that wants to collect all the Exo Stones and use them to destroy reality?" He asked, recalling a mysterious evil force that will soon make their presence known to their worlds.

"I don't think so. They looked less monstery in those visions I had. We're dealing with something else entirely." Sonic refuted.

"This 'something else' already capable of draining an entire city of life and trapping it in another dimension. This Ultimate Evil will be the ultimate pain in the ass if we survive this." Spidey quipped, believing the next threat after this adventure will be tougher to counter.

"Don't be such a scaredy-spider. We'll save the day as we always do. We're the best of our two worlds after all." Sonic assured his friend.

"Heh. Guess so." Spidey smirked.

BGM End

Didn't take the Dimensional Duo long to reach the Harlem district. Like the rest of the city, it's been drained of color and its citizens are stuck as white statues scattered everywhere. "Check this out. These buildings look weird." Peter quickly comes across a colorless gateway resembling an industrial facility with poisonous chemicals.

"Look next to them!" Sonic points out four familiar girly statues standing next to the gateway, "It's Amy, with MJ, Blake, and Tiki! They're statues, just like the others were."

"Mary Jane…" Peter sighs upon staring somberly at his former love. Looking at what has become of her causes him to reminisce, reflect on their shared history that involves happiness and despair, "There was a time I thought she was the girl of my dreams, but my secret identity kept getting in the way of our relationship. I feared she would be killed because of my life as Spider-Man, so we broke up. Thought it would keep her safe…But I kept being proven wrong." He then stares at his petrified faunus girlfriend to reflect on their shared past, "And then there's Blake…Both of us had a troubled life that we want to redeem together. Things are okay between us and I am trying to make it stay that way, but…A black cat dating a Parker? Heh. Our bad luck is transcendent. No matter how hard I try, the people I love always suffer. When will it end?"

"I'm no love expert, but I do know that there are just some things out of our control. Just take it easy on yourself, man. These girls will love you no matter what." Sonic reassured his buddy, cheering up his spirits.

"Yeah, I know." Peter responded solemnly. "Sit tight, girls! We'll find a way to save you!" He promised, heading into the Time Hole with Sonic and a strengthened resolve to save his friends.

Chemical Plant Zone.

A Time Hole opens in a large chemical facility filled with machinery and other crazy experiments. Case in point, a time-displaced civilian is being cornered by a humanoid lizard hungry for his flesh. It was about to snack when it senses both Amazing Spider-Man and Modern Sonic emerging from the portal, prompting the mutation to take the person hostage and flee through the Zone.

BGM-Sonic Generations OST- Chemical Plant: Act 1

"Did that giant lizard kidnap a person?" Sonic casually asked with a shocked face.

"Yup, it sure did." Spider-Man quipped.

The heroes immediately give chase to the lizard throughout this industrial Zone. They run down two parallel paths, with Sonic running high and Spidey swinging low. The hedgehog slides under an arch of liquid blue blobs before chaining Homing Attacks on Spiny Badniks. A Grabber then surprises him as quickly as Spidey kicking the spider-bot to free his friend and continuing their fast-paced trek through the area.

"Sounded like they took that person through this Chemical Plant. So even people from New York are displaced here." Spidey commented.

"Chemical Plant…Why is that oddly fitting for this Zone?" Sonic muttered, once more feeling nostalgic for a place he has trouble remembering.

Quickly after, the duo arrives at an area containing some suspicious pods. Peter approaches one of them only to immediately jump back from a roaring lizard bursting out of it, followed by more lizards hatching from the other pods to do battle with the heroes. "Where are all these lizards coming from?! They don't look Mobian! More like mutated freaks!" Sonic asked, amidst battling the vicious reptiles.

"I've seen this mutation before. In an old friend of mine named Doctor Curt Connors. A genius in genetics that lost an arm in an explosion, so he injected himself with lizard DNA in hopes of regrowing it." Spidey briefed his friend, whilst web-pulling a lizard into a furious spinning uppercut.

"That didn't sound very smart." snarked Sonic, stomping on a lizard's tail to make it easier to kick it down.

"It wasn't. It turned him into The Lizard, one of my most ferocious enemies." Spidey stated, grabbing another lizard by the tail and throwing it at a crowd to knock them all down, "If he's behind these experiments, we gotta stop him!"

First things first, they need to clear the lizard horde blocking their progress. One roaring reptile charge at Peter, who backflips away to coordinate with Sonic tripping up the mutant with a slide kick so he could deliver a dashing uppercut then web-slam the monster onto its brethren. More lizards lunge at the arachnid bouncing off their scales, binding them all with a Web Bomb as Sonic exclaims, "STRIKE!", and knocks them out with a powerful Spin Dash.

"Look!" Right after defeating that lizard horde, Sonic spots another lizard fleeing on a pathway. This one look unique as they are dressed, wearing torn pants alongside an old researcher lab coat.

"Dr. Connors!" Spidey shouted.

"That was him?" Sonic noted.

Spidey nods, "Yeah. First Negative and now Lizard. What are my villains doing in your Zones?"

"Let's stay on his tail to find out!" Sonic declared.

Pursuing The Lizard proves to be a challenge. The reptilian rampages through the Zone pretty fast on all fours and leaps very far right as Sonic catches up to him. He latches onto a crane that circles the area, fending off Spider-Man while he's hanging onto his leg saying, "Doc Connors, listen to me! You're not yourself! Let's talk and tell me what's going on!"

"Sssstop chasing me!" Lizard hissed, kicking the hero off so he may flee.

Peter crashes onto the ground, and as soon as he gets up, he's grabbed from behind by a lizard that's larger and stronger. Luckily Sonic comes to his support with a kick across the head, stunning the large lizard so Peter could elbow its chest hard and free himself. "Gotta get these lizards off our backs if we want to catch up with Doc!" said Peter before they press forward.

They continued chasing The Lizard when they come across his men holding more time-displaced New Yorkers hostage. "AAAH! HELP ME!" shouted a woman about to be assaulted by lizards.

"They really don't want us to go after daddy." Sonic joked, blitzing the creatures that were threatening the woman, "How are we gonna get these people outta here?"

A solution is noticed after Peter knocks out some goons. He spots a convenient golden gate nearby and it looks like it's linked to Manhattan. "Over there!" Be quick about it!" Spidey pointed out.

"Being quick is my specialty!" Sonic quipped while grabbing a civilian.

Lizards are beaten down as the heroes escort people to the gate that is transporting them to safety. "Nobody will believe this when I tell them!" A civilian thanks them for the rescue. Fighting is winding down as more people are being rescued, much to the fury of a large lizard. After saving the last civilian, Spidey is clawed down by the big beast. Sonic mounts onto it to punch away but made the mistake of staying on too long as he's quickly knocked down. Peter recovers, launching a kick to its ugly face before Sonic stomps its head to the ground. Together, the heroes then kick the defeated behemoth into the Mega Mack that's flowing through the Zone.

"Hope they don't get any bigger than that guy." Sonic joked after securing the area. "Now where did Connors go?" He wondered, looking around for no sign of their primary Lizard target.

"I think he went inside that building." Spidey points at a large building ahead of them.

"Let's catch up! Hate to think what he might experiment in there!" Sonic retorted, racing ahead before his spider-friend as they continue their pursuit of The Lizard.

Meanwhile, at Casino Night Zone…

"This is confusing." said Classic Sonic, running through this sparkling casino city filled with pinball machines after stumbling upon the gateway that led him here, "That wasn't Westside Island I was at. Why did that weird portal thing take me to Casino Night? Haven't been in this Zone in a while. Not since Robotnik was up to no good with his Death Egg. Something strange is happening and I need to find out what."

BGM-Super Dragon Ball Heroes OST-Awesome Opponent

Suddenly his ear twitches as Sonic senses a powerful presence heading toward him. That presence belongs to Spider-Man 2099 gliding to his location, landing before the hedgehog in a stance that would intimidate anyone but Sonic. "You're new. What are ya, a spider-badnik in hi-tech pajamas?" Sonic mocked the futuristic web-warrior, believing him to be another foe.

"No more running, kid. Start talking about what you know." Miguel demanded sternly.

"Make me." Sonic snarked.

Miguel rushes to attack him, intolerant of his attitude. He throws a powerful punch that Sonic stalemates with a strong Spin Dash kick. "I scanned your dimensional energy signature. You're not from my world. From what I seen, you're a punk that loves to cause trouble." Miguel noted whilst stuck in their deadlock.

"Sounds about right." The confused Sonic quipped.

"Are you working for that monster?!" Miguel accused, believing the hedgehog is in allegiance with the Dark Entity that's been attacking their dimensions.

"What?!" Sonic retorted, narrowly avoiding the spider's web shot.

The two then battle for a short period, proving to be evenly matched and forces Sonic to retreat to a pinball machine with Miguel on hot pursuit. Sonic uses the machine to his advantage, bouncing off flippers and bumpers to do some decent damage on the wallcrawler. S-Man decides to get tricky himself by activating both his boot thrusters and Accelerated Vision, moving faster and seeing everything slower, making it easier to counter the bouncy hedgehog with a powerful claw swipe that smashes him onto a slot machine.

"It's no use. I'll admit you're fast, but I'm no slowpoke either." Spidey mocked.

"Would love to put that to the test." Sonic grunted.

"Give me your best shot." Spidey challenged. Both combatants then rocket at each other, with Sonic's Spin Attacks clashing intensely with Spidey's claw strikes at hyperfast speeds that is damaging the environment more than each other.

In the end, their battle ends in another stalemate with neither of them worse for wear. "This will take a while." Miguel noted grimly.

"What's your deal with me?" Sonic questioned seriously.

"AAAAIIIIIE!"

BGM-Sonic Generations OST-Mission (Balloon Park)

A little girl screaming from afar grabs the attention of both heroes as it sounds like she's in trouble. She definitely is as the white-dressed girl wearing a blue skirt is cornered by a bunch of crab-like Crawl Badniks. "STAY AWAY FROM ME!" The little girl pleaded.

"Don't worry, little lady! I got your back!" Sonic suddenly comes to her rescue first with ricocheting Spin Attacks that repel the Badnik horde. One Crawl deflects the hedgehog with its bumper shield only to lose it to Spider-Man slashing that arm off before he web-throws the robot onto its brethren, destroying them in one shot. "Huh? Seriously, what is your deal? First you try to kill me, now you're helping me?" Sonic questions his flabbergasting motives.

"Me? What about you? Don't you work for that monster that swallowed my world?" Miguel retorted.

"You mean that ghost thing with the creepy face? No way! That monster ate MY world! Next thing I knew I woke up in that White Space and been tryin' to find a way back home since!" Sonic retorted back, charging through the backs of more Badniks.

"I see…Things are making a little more sense now." Miguel muttered.

The two heroes finally put aside their differences in order to protect the girl that is still threatened by Badniks. Their transcendent superfast combo of claw swipes and Spin Attacks is making quick work of the robots, disabling their defenses as swiftly as disarming them of their pincers. Sonic jumps over a Crawl's pincer to kick it in the back and knock it toward Miguel's clawing uppercut, sending it into the air. Just as the hedgehog kicks it down, Miguel web-pulls the remaining Badniks into the position for them to be smashed into pieces by the flung Crawl.

BGM-Sonic Rush OST-Theme of Sonic's Event

"We got 'em!" Sonic cheered at their first crossover victory.

"Looks like." Spidey responded, before facing the hedgehog to say, "Sorry about before, kid. It's not often I deal with dimensional incursions. Have to be wary of who I meet."

"Eh, don't sweat it. Never dealt with other worlds before either. Thought you were a Badnik. You're…NOT a Badnik, right? A robot?" Sonic asked awkwardly.

"No, I'm human. 50% anyway. My name is Spider-Man. I'm a hero from where I'm from." Miguel introduced himself.

"Same here. Name's Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog!" smiled Sonic, offering him a friendly handshake.

"Sonic? Hm. Sounds familiar." said Miguel, accepting his handshake to let bygones be bygones.

"Now that we've fought, let's switch it up and work together to save both our worlds." Sonic suggested.

"Sure." Miguel chuckled, accepting his help against this dimensional mess.

"Um, hello?" The little girl they rescued finally decided to approach her saviors and say, "I don't know what is going on, but, thank you for saving me."

"You're welcome, kid. What's your name?" Miguel asked her gently.

"My name is Weiss Schnee. I'm the heiress to the Schnee Dust Company." Kid Weiss introduces herself to the heroes.

"Never heard of it." Sonic remarked casually.

The shocked Weiss retorts, "H-How is that possible?! It's the biggest Dust mining company in all of Remnant!"

"Probably cuz I don't live in Remnant, Ice Princess." Sonic snarked.

"I guess that makes sense. Never met a Faunus as stupid as you before." Weiss sasses in annoyance at his jokey attitude.

"The heck's a Faunus? I'm a hedgehog!" Sonic retorted, already butting heads with this young heiress.

"Get along, you two! Sounds like all three of our worlds are caught in this mess!" Miguel breaks them up before asking Weiss, "Do you know if any of your family made it here, Weiss?"

"I don't know. I was singing at a recital when everything turned white. Then I found myself lost here." Weiss explained.

"They must've turned into statues like everyone else in the city." Sonic speculated.

"Alright. In that case…" Miguel picks up the little heiress like a knight carrying a princess, "You'll have to stay with us until we can get you home. But I want you to behave, okay?"

"Okay." Weiss nodded.

"Good. Who knows what could be lurking in this place." said Miguel, before leading the newly-formed Team 2099 through the rest of Casino Night. Unaware they are being spied on by The Hound growling from the shadows.

Back at Chemical Plant Zone…

BGM-Sonic Generations OST-Chemical Plant: Act 2

"Woohoo! It's like we're at the water park!" hollered Modern Sonic, sliding down a large tube alongside Amazing Spider-Man that sends them skydiving down a shaft with strings of blue blobs flying about and being avoided by their acrobatic skills.

"Now, can't let Doc Connors get away." Amazing Spider-Man declared, having hunted The Lizard to this industrial building.

The Dimensional Avengers continue their venture, avoiding traps and beating on robots and reptiles alike that want to slow them down. The further they go, the more lizard goo they come across that's making it a little tough traversing the plant. "Eeyuk! These floors are covered in slime! I do not want to keep running on them!" Sonic exclaimed in disgust after nearly slipping on goo. He then decides to jump around the place, passing by massive vats containing strange green chemicals that he comments on, "And those chemicals smell just as nasty!"

"Wait a second…" Suspicious, Spider-Man swings down to the nearest vat to examine its contents with his lenses. Through them, he identifies the chemicals and concludes what it is. But more importantly, what it will be used for, "Typical. So that's his plan."

"What is?" Sonic asked.

"This is Lizard Formula. He's using this Chemical Plant to mass-produce tons to create an army." Spidey answered.

"He's planning to transform everyone in New York into lizards! As if it didn't have its fill of viruses this summer!" Sonic deduced, now aware of Lizard's master plan.

"We have to shut this place down! We need to find the computer room!" Spidey proclaimed.

"Follow me." Sonic retorted whilst running ahead.

"You know where it is?" Spidey responded while following the hedgehog's lead.

"Just call it instinct." Sonic quipped, using his heart to guide them through this familiar Zone.

Swiftly, Peter senses the Mega Mack in the area beginning to rise. "Your instincts better be right unless you wanna swim there! I know you keep skipping those lessons!" He joked. The heroes climb, rushing themselves to flee from the rising flood. Some enemies try stopping them, all of them failing because of Sonic homing attacking off their heads to make his climb more creative. As he runs up, he grabs ahold of a webline spun out by Spidey and throws him at the big lizard blocking their exit. The Spider throws a stunning punch, then comes the Hedgehog with a powerful kick that knocks the screaming creature down into the flood as the duo flee to their destination.

"There it is." Sonic stated, running toward the highly advanced computer room that controls all of Chemical Plant's operations.

"Great. This shouldn't take long." Peter claims while hacking the terminal, "If I remember it right, I should be able to manufacture an antidote using this Zone's chemicals and replace the contents of the Lizard Formula. Then I can release it to the atmosphere and cure those infected."

BGM-Spider-Man 2 (Game) OST-Hung Like a Spider

The cure will have to wait. Some reptilian company is crawling along the walls and ready to pounce the heroes for their treachery, starting with Spider-Man who was too slow to sense it coming. "Spidey!" Sonic shouted in concern, looking at The Lizard savagely pinning down his best friend.

"You will not ssstop my plansss this time, Sssspider-Man!" snarled Lizard, struggling to chomp out Peter's head.

Sonic rushes to his friend's aid by mounting onto Connors's back, punching him enough times so Peter could free himself and knock back their mutual foe with a flying dropkick. "You're not thinkin' straight, Doc! We're trying to help you!" Peter said with words that fall on deaf ears.

"The Dark One hasss given me all the help I need." Lizard retorted vaguely, grabbing the heads of both heroes to brutally smash them onto multiple walls and equipment. "Brought me to thissss facility to help my brethren claim their birthright." He claimed, smashing the duo through a metallic wall.

"Dark One? You're talking 'bout that ghost thing with the creepy face!" Sonic noted, striking his face with a Spin Dash that causes him to roar and not notice Spidey webbing him up until it's too late, "What does that monster want?!"

"The death of mankind!" Lizard exclaimed, bursting with ferocious strength that eradicates his bindings.

More teamwork is required if the heroes want to beat Lizard. Sonic slides between the legs to surprise his mouth with metal debris he kicks into and watches his monstrous teeth bite it down with ease. Spidey tries grabbing his tail, and succeeds with the consequence of being repeatedly and ruthlessly slammed onto walls, "Would. You. Just. Stay. Still?" Sonic stomping his tail accidently allows Peter to rip it off and quip, "Aah, disgusting.", before using it to whip Connors across the face. Doc Lizard claws him away and then Sonic, who tornados the reptile into the air for his spin-stomp to be caught and smashed to the ground before Spidey saves his friend.

"I'll handle him! Go be smart!" Sonic ordered, deciding to fend off Lizard while Peter works to shut down this Zone.

Sonic confronts Lizard as the latter regenerates his tail. The Freedom Fighter revs up a Spin Dash that prompts Lizard to surprisingly do the same with his own flexible reflexes. Both attacks rocket at each other, colliding with incredible intensity as both combatants struggle to overcome the other. "Be grateful! In death, you will be ssspared subjugation by the rightful rulers of this planet!" Lizard taunted.

"That would be the mice, right? I'm pretty sure it's the mice." Sonic quipped.

Unfortunately, Lizard's strength proves superior as he then smashes Sonic onto Spidey just as he was almost done creating the cure. Peter recovers in time to avoid his enemy's fierce swipes saying, "Give up, Doc! This isn't gonna end well for you!"

"Never! I won't succumb to the likes of you, monkey-spawn!" retorted Lizard, spitting toxic blasts that that nearly harms the webslinger.

"I can deal with the attempted murder, but, the name calling really stings." snarked Spidey, deciding to use Electric Webbing that painfully stuns his nemesis.

"This certainly will!" Sonic quipped, landing a mighty divekick to the face that smashes Lizard into the computer console that Peter was working on.

BGM End

"Whoops! You were done, right?" Sonic acknowledged his recklessness.

"Just had to press a button." Spidey shrugged.

Thankfully, the electrocuted face of The Lizard presses the button that completes the deed. Chemical Plant begins to malfunction. Various and dangerous chemicals are leaking. Explosions happening everywhere. One explosion in particular is the Anti-Lizard Serum that is dispersed into the atmosphere, restoring all lizard men back to their human forms. Sonic and Spidey flee their exploding building with the unconscious Lizard in tow, glancing at the destruction they brought to this Zone before landing at a safe place to better watch it.

"A bit much, but still got the job done." Spidey joked about their success. He then turns to his defeated nemesis, quipping, "Alright Connors, time to start breathing in that healthy…", before watching in confusion of him vanishing into thin air and leaving behind a golden key, "He disappeared! And left behind a key."

"Just like Mister Negative…" Sonic recalled. "Were these keys anchoring them to this place somehow?" He questions the weirdness they have encountered so far.

"I dunno. Wherever Connors is, I hope he's doing okay." Peter hoped while grabbing their second Time Key.

BGM-Sonic Generations OST-Cutscene 3

"Sonic! Spidey!" Calling out to them is their friend Tails, flying to them with Kid Ruby being carried by his arms.

"Tails! Ruby!" Sonic waves at his friends, happy to see them after an intense mission.

"Uh, why did you bring her?" The confused Spidey asked, knowing this Zone is too dangerous for the little Rose.

"She wanted to come when we found the people you rescued." Tails replied upon landing near him.

"Did you find my sister?" Kid Ruby asked her heroes.

"Not yet. But we did save the city from being lizard chow. We're gonna need help getting everyone else outta here." Peter answered.

"This Chemical Plant feels familiar. I'd never forget a smell like this!" Tails noted, as he walks to comment about a pink waterfall, "And that pink water makes me really nervous for some reason."

"You're right, Tails. This place is giving me déjà vu all over again!" Sonic agreed, starting to realize the timeline has been distorted somehow.

BGM-Sonic Rush OST-Theme of After the Fight

With help from Tails and Kid Ruby, the last of the cured civilians were escorted out of Chemical Plant Zone by the Dimensional Avengers just as Harlem is regaining life. "This district of the city is returning to normal!" Tails noticed.

"Just like after we went through that Green Hill. Starting to see a pattern…" Amazing Spider-Man noted.

Harlem citizens that were statues are also restoring themselves, including the likes of Mary Jane, Amy, Blake, and Tiki as their bodies return to normal. Amy realizes she is free and happily spins around while MJ grabs the boys' attention with a smiling wave and shout, "Guys, you did it!"

"MJ!" Peter responded, very happy to see more of his friends back to normal.

"You saved me, Sonic. I was afraid I'd never be able to flirt with you again." Amy smiles whilst surprising her love interest with a hug.

"Ughhh…" Sonic groaned, facepalming his shaking head.

"Is there a reason Ruby looks de-aged?" asked Tiki, noticing Kid Ruby amongst the group.

"We're still figuring that out." Spidey replied.

"What about the others?" Blake asked.

"We're still looking for them. So far we found you guys plus May, Xiao, and Jaune back at Central Park. Wonder if Luke is around to give us a hand." Spidey quipped.

"We'll keep an eye out for him. The city needs you now more than ever." MJ said.

"No kidding. Sorry you got caught in another of my messes, MJ." Peter apologizes to his ex-girlfriend.

Solemnly, MJ just smiles off his apology as she has a bit of an apology of her own, "It's okay, Pete. I'd be lying if I say I'm not used to it at this point. I know it was a burden when we were dating, but as long as we're friends, this is just gonna keep happening. I just have to accept this is part of my life now. And you know, I'm happy about it. You helped me become a better person. I will always love you."

"Wishing you could turn back the clock on us?" Peter chuckled in embarrassment, joking if they can be a couple again.

"It'd be cruel to hurt Blake's feelings." MJ teased her faunus friend.

"I am a black cat after all. Be careful crossing me." Blake smirked slyly, getting a laugh out of everyone.

"Alright. Sonic and I will keep searching for the others." Spidey smiled behind his mask.

"You girls take care of yourselves." Sonic said, getting ready to run.

"We will!" The nodding Tiki promised with a grin.

"Good luck!" Amy beamed at their heroes.

"Go get 'em, Tiger! And hedgehog." smiled MJ, wishing her two friends the best as they continue their time-bending adventure and remain oblivious to Team 2099's exploits to also save the dimensions.
