HYDRA's exposed, SHIELD is officially over and The Winter Soldier is lost somewhere in the middle. At least he's not lost alone. Lucy was just a tech in way too deep. Ashamed of what she's done, Lucy wants to help him come to terms with his past & help him repair his relationship with Steve. Lucy never meant to feel this way and Bucky didn't think he could feel at all.

Was it really, strictly necessary for Steve to crash the aircraft and freeze himself in ice for seventy years? Maybe - and maybe not. He certainly doesn't seem to think so - not as long as there's another way out.

Steve has to go back overseas and he plans on spending every last moment leading up to it with Peggy. (AU where Steve didn't crash obviously).

He thought that turning Bucky's addiction from nicotine to sugar would have helped with his lungs. Instead he had just ended up trading smoke for something equally as asphyxiating. (Very short one shot from an in-progress story of mine.)
