It was a dream. Nay, a miracle.

She was granted a miracle that she could not, and probably never will be able to explain.

How could Tam Lin Barghest Round Table Knight, formerly serving High Queen Morgan and Novum Chaldea explain this? Reincarnation.

Her existence was suffering. Cursed by the Mors King, to eat those she loved. No matter how hard she fought, it was only a matter of time until she inevitably lost herself to the curse, and became a monster. The only silver-lining was she died by the heroes she oh so idolized.

Her deeds were recorded to the Throne of Heroes and Chaldea summoned her. That place gave her the chance to finally enact her ideal. The strong have an obligation to protect the weak.

She served the last master of humanity until the very end. He was an easy to approach individual, who got along a wide variety of Heroic Spirits. Someone she treasured dearly.

However everything had to come to an end. Lostbelts were extinguished, and the Human Order was restored.

With a soft, gentle expression on her face said goodbye to her Master. She gave him the opportunity to be more than a Calamity. Someone who eats her those she loves.

Something happened as she left the world.

She found herself in darkness. It was warm however.

Muffled voices pricked her ears. She felt being pushed. She got a glimpse of light. That was where she was headed.

Voices were louder, more coherent. As she reached her destination she realized.

She was being born.

Barghest became Yang-Xiao Long.

Reincarnation process wasn't pure. The dense soul that was Barghest was so strong, she carried her abilities to her new life. Most notably her A-ray antenna's, on her head. Besides that by pure coincidence, instead of the lilac eyes, which should have been her color for the eyes, an union of Tai and Raven, instead carried over the heterochromia. Her right eye was red while the other blue. Half of Tai, the other Raven's.

Granted human life for her was a unique experience to say the least. She disliked being in a vulnerable situation. After all, there were no babies in Fae Britain. Doctors and parents alike were confused by the antennas, they suspected I was some kind of "Faunus". She hoped they were nothing like the fairies of her homeland.

The silver-lining was she had a feeling her parents were strong. However it did not take long for her mother to leave her and father behind.

A new mate or should she say wife entered the picture who helped her father gather herself. She was kind, gentle and for the lack of better words motherly. The kind of wife she wanted to be had she got the chance. Maybe she will in this new life.

By the time she learned how to walk, they consummate their love and gave her a sister. Ruby.

As she gazed into her adorable silver eyes, she made a vow to protect her even if it kills her.

The land she found herself had no connection to the world she lived in. The moon was broken, and the land was filled with Grimm. The world had what she thought was the equivalent of knights. Huntsman, who protects the world from Grimm, and brings criminals to justice.

She could not wait for the day she could start training her body, to be a part of them.

As it stood these days were peaceful. Perhaps the most tranquil she ever experienced.

However, everything must come to an end… Tragedy struck the family she adored. Her step-mother left for a mission and never returned. My father lost two lovers in his lifetime. Considering she lost many, she had an inkling how he felt. While he slacked Yang picked up his slack, cooking food, and doing chores. She also started to train. She had to be strong.

One day, she got introduced to her uncle. He was busy doing missions, and basically kicked their father to man up, for them..

The Father-and-daughter bonded when Tai started teaching Yang, hand-to-hand combat. In her previous life, she just smashed through everything like a brute. She appreciated having other effective ways to defend herself and others. Qrow helped refine her swordplay.

After training was over, night fast approached Patch. After the shower Yang was going to sleep as it was starting to get late but heard her door open. It was Ruby.

"Another nightmare?" Yang asked. Her little sister nodded. Yang took her sister to her bed and cuddled her to sleep. Ever since their mother died this was a regular occurrence. She hoped one day nightmares won't plague her.

(Several Years later)

Years went by and her ambition to become a huntsman did not wane. Her body became plum and endowed very much like in her previous life. Muscles defined to peak beauty. She had mixed feelings of not reaching the height and breast she had in her previous life. On one hand she was proud of it, on the other it was a pain to get clothes that fit her. Because Aura was the first line of defense she opted to not get any armor. Instead she decided to dress in a way that embraced her growing figure. A top, with jacket, Tight pants, and boots to match. Yeah, her lovely little sister was jealous.

Both of them went to the same place. Signal, and now Beacon academy. She was proud of how Ruby got here, stopping a robbery.

(During the fall)

It was like experiencing hell again. The final day of Fae Britain. Grimm roamed the streets, fear, despair premiated the air. She couldn't help but wonder, if she perhaps had a part in it. During the last round, she saw her opponent trying to sneak attack her, the footage showed her beating a defenseless man.

Did she lose herself in the haze of the fight?

Right now, she had to defend the Academy from the White-fang. She was like a wall they could not surmount. They fell one after another.

She scoured the Academy for the enemy. She came across her partner, who was frightened by the man in front of her. He carried himself a Katana.

Sword, in hand she proceeded to engage.

"Yang, no!" terrified scream left Blake. She ignored it. Their blades crossed. It was enough to know the opponent before her was formidable.

Yang had no idea they had similar Semblance's.

As Adam was about to unleash it, Yang's instinct kicked in and ducked it.

It scratched her antenna. And so Adam Taurus's fate was sealed.

It awakened what Yang thought she left behind. What she got rid off.

She was in shock. Enough so for Taurus to kick her away. Her body ragdolled, crashing through several desks and chair.

Blake went to check on her, but she saw an aura coating her friend. It was hot, probably hotter then the flames that burn around them.

Yang stood up and looked at Adam like a piece of meat.

Her speed, strength surpassed his. A sword appeared in her hand, which was unlike the one she used. Her left hand was adorned by chains.

Effortlessly she chained Taurus, twirling him in the end. She yanked him towards herself.

And Blake saw what she wished she never saw.

She ******** his head.

As the meat slid down her throat, the familiar feeling snapped out of it.

Yang wailed, horrified at what she did. What she thought she left behind.

Yang looked at Blake. Trying to offer anything. How she did not want to do this. An explanation, anything!

But nothing came out, only her eternal shame.

Blake looked at her in fright and ran.

And Yang couldn't blame her. Not one bit.

She stayed in her room. Never leaving it, afraid of leaving it. Who will be next? Her father, Ruby? No she couldn't be a liability to her.

Her golden days were over, the dog loved pretending to be a dragon while it lasted.

She wanted to go with Ruby, but couldn't trust herself. She wanted to go to Vale to help with reconstruction, but couldn't trust herself. Weiss was stuck in Atlas, and Blake thought of her as a monster.

This room should be her prison. This room should be her grave.

Her hair was disheveled, eyes puffy and tired.

A knock on her door and her father entered. She stiffened. Alarm in case her instinct kicks in. If her curse comes out.

"Yang sweety, you can't hold up in this room forever." Tai said gently, as he took a seat next to her bed.

"I can…It is for the best."

"For whom?"

"For everyone…"

Tai sighed. "My little dragon that's not true."

Yang huffed. "I'm no dragon…just a dog."

"Yang…Please don't talk like that about yourself. You know that is not true. "Tai implored her daughter.

She let out a humorless chuckle. "I wish it wasn't…"

"...What happened that day Yang?" Tai asked at long last.

Yang did not want to talk about it, but deep down she knew she only delayed the inevitable. Sooner or later Blake will tell others what she did.

May as well rip it off now. This life was good while it lasted. Last seventeen years was a dream come true.

After she confesses, she was sure to be at least kicked out, her father and sister's eyes will be judgemental. Looking at her with fright and scorn. She would do anything not to. But Barghest never ran from responsibility.

And so… Yang confessed everything. How she had a previous life. How she was a cursed child. How she served as a knight, how ruthless she was. How much she loved her new life. How much she hated herself. How she ate that man.

Tai digested this, he stood up.

And gave the fiercest hug she ever got from him.

She did not understand.

"It was hard wasn't it? You are not a monster my sunny-dragon, nor are you cursed. I love you just as Ruby is. Nothing can change how she looks at you."

Yang cried and buried her head into his father's chest. She wasn't shunned. She only received support and love from them.

Her life was far from over.

She knew she owed the others explanation, especially to Ruby and Blake.

Her life wasn't over, and battle waited for her.

She got on her motorbike, to reunite with her sister.

AN: Honestly kind of wanted to write Raven Camp interaction and V5 Ending where Yang/Barghest curb stomps Raven and calls out her how weak her ideology is and she has absolutely no ground on b*tching.

But that would only be cathartic for me. + It felt wrong to continue from this point

Hello, long time no see, wow it seems I can write fanfic that isn't Self Insert? Impossible.

This is a one-shot, so don't get your hopes up about me continuing it. Pretty disjointed as it is.

Honestly Barghest and Mordred are prime candidates to reincarnate as Yang.

(Pretty fucking tired of Jaune and Shirou INO/Inserts, bored of reading basically the same thing, over and over…)

Maybe I write some ideas I have and maybe get my groove back to continue F/SN or Maybe write that LB6 SI that is basically plaguing my mind for 2 years!
