Millie was stressed in all honesty. Priya may have won the challenge today but that didn't mean they were safe.
Bowie could easily flip against her and Priya and vote her off with Julia. She knew she was doomed in a tiebreaker situation if that were to happen, it was basic math. Julia won every merge challenge, and the only ones she didn't were when the Hockey Bros and Chase went home.
Millie was scared to think what that would mean for Priya. Julia is ruthless and she knew that firsthand, Bowie may not have been a completely horrible person either but ultimately he wasn't above being selfish. She'd be stuck with those two schemers all alone.
Somehow, that seemed worse to Millie than just being eliminated.
"Hey, are you doing okay?" Priya asked with a genuine look of concern, oh right. She and her were sitting at the beach looking at the stars together. That's what friends do… right?
"Oh, sorry… just worried about the vote is all." Millie smiled nervously, "I'm scared Bowie's gonna flip on us. We both know I'll lose a tie when it comes down to it. He could easily try and vote with Julia to split us up."
Priya smiled reassuringly at Millie before saying, "Don't beat yourself up, sure Julia is a challenge beast but he HATES Julia. Knowing him, he'll be so confident that he can beat us in a one versus two that he'll ditch Julia. He did throw the challenge after all."
"…and if he does vote me off?" Millie asked sadly which made Priya's face fall a little but she brightened up.
"Then I'll make sure to win for you. Bowie and Julia would never team up with each other, and Julia may be great at challenges… somehow, but so am I. I swear, I'll win it for us." Priya smiled reassuringly.
"Glad to hear it, Priya." Millie smiled back, glad to know her bestie would support her.
Millie was shocked at how selfless Priya was, she wasn't just winning for herself but winning for THEM. Look at her, just a few episodes ago, Millie saw her and Priya's friendship as a means to an end. She liked Priya but wasn't willing to take risks for her until today.
Sure she had changed but it didn't erase how awful she was in the past. And her notebook…
Oh gosh, her notebook.
Should she confess about the notebook? Priya didn't know about the notebook yet, and they were friends. Friends aren't supposed to keep secrets, right?
But if she told Priya about the notebook, she could be heartbroken, and that would give Julia the advantage, and crush Priya in the process.
She couldn't do it while they were in the game, for now, Millie would wait until the game was over and Millie would tell Priya about the notebook and the last page so Millie can clarify things for her sake.
Revealing the notebook could wait.
Though what Millie didn't know is that someone else had her notebook, and that someone was who she would never expect.
Bowie smirked as he read the notebook, so many emotional hand grenades in one teeny tiny book. Imagine what Priya's reaction would be, she would be crushed. While Bowie did not normally delight himself in the misery of others, if it benefited his game, he would take utmost joy in it.
Bowie's eyes faltered on one page and began reading it:
"When I first met Priya, I thought she was a needy and codependent person who her parents failed to raise properly but when I got to know her, I realized I was wrong. Despite all her quirks, she is the most amazing person I ever met. She accepts people for who they are, even at their worst, which is what I was. I wrote horrible things about everyone because of my own insecurities and it was Priya who made me realize that and she is the first person who ever made me feel good about myself."
"Awww, how sweet." Bowie cooed mockingly, but inside, he was feeling conflicted. This passage was a little too sweet and Priya could actually forgive Millie, but she might actually deserve to be forgiven. Should he leave it in?
Bowie glared at the page and ripped it out of the book. He had a game to win, and would not lose this easy victory over a friendship.
"Hope your friendship can survive Millie." Bowie said venomously before crumbling up the last page.
Author's Note: Wow, Bowie's an asshole isn't he? Hope you enjoyed that.
