Ok, I wrote this mostly cause I was very disappointed they're aren't many dragonshipping (Yami no Yugix Jou) fics on AO3 or on Fanfiction. I mean there are like 53 on AO3 but that's less than Vaseshipping so I decided to write this for fun and I was sick of seeing puppyshipping everywhere, same with puzzlehipping. No offense to people who like those pairings (I like puzzleshipping but I'm tired of seeing it everywhere) I don't own Yu-gi-oh or any of the characters. It belongs to Kazuki Takahashi, Toei, Shueisha, Konami, etc. Also, I use dub names cause that's how I watched the anime.

Joey watched as Yami brisked out of the train car. It was silent between the other three for a moment. "He's taking this hard, isn't he?" Tea observed. Joey rolled his eyes at her, all of them were reeling from losing Yugi but none of them were taking it as badly as Yami "Well, it's not surprisin' since Yugi is his partner." Joey stated knowingly. Tristan sighed "Do you think that one of us should check on him?" He wondered. "Sure but who?" Joey asked curiously. "You! You're his boyfriend aren't ya?" Tristan hissed quietly, hoping Tea didn't hear. Tea has had a huge crush on the pharaoh ever since duelist kingdom and either didn't care that he wasn't interested in a romantic relationship with her or was oblivious. From what it looks like, Tea was looking out the window meaning she didn't hear him which was a relief.

Joey felt the blush rise to his face. It was true, ever since he and the pharaoh faced off in a duel after the battle city finals they'd been hanging out more. Whether it was dueling, eating at burger world, watching movies, etc. Hell, he's one of the few who knew Yami wasn't just an extension of Yugi that came out during duels. As the blush faded, he huffed "Alright, alright, I'll check on 'im." The blonde declared as he stood up and walked towards the end of the train. "Good luck!" Tristan called out. Joey gave his friend a thumbs-up before reaching the end of the train car. With his hand on the handle, Joey paused, he hadn't really talked to Yami since finding out about losing Yugi's soul. He was mad as hell about Yami using the seal of Orichalcos but he needs to talk to him so here he goes.

Joey slid open the door, stepped in, and closed the door. He saw, tucked in the corner, Yami with his legs up against his chest with his head down "Go away." Yami said, muffled. Joey shook his head "Not happenin'." He refused softly. Yami sighed before he lifted his head and looked at his boyfriend "What are you doing here?" He questioned. Joey shifted his weight awkwardly "Checkin' up on you." He mumbled. "I'm surprised you're bothering to." Yami muttered depressingly, setting his chin on his knees. "Yikes! This is worse than I thought." Joey winced internally.

Joey sat down next to Yami "Why did you activate the seal?" Joey wondered curiously. "I couldn't find a way out and was about to lose and it was the only way to win." Yami explained. "Why is winning that important?" Joey questioned. Yami sighed "Because it's all I have!" He exclaimed loudly. Joey was taken aback, that definitely wasn't what he thought he'd say "Your kiddin' me, right?" He said disbelievingly. Turning his head, Yami sighed "Nope. Winning games is the reason I'm here." He said certainly. Joey looked at him like a kicked puppy. "You sure about that." He inquired. Yami felt the guilt swirl in his stomach "Joey, Winning games is all I have. And if I lost I don't know what would happen. What consequences would I be dealt." He said with uncertainty. "But winning isn't all you have. You have us." Joey reminded him.

Yami turned his head and looked at Joey "But do I?" He inquired softly. "You and the others are Aibou's friends more than mine so who knows-" He explained before Joey kissed him. Yami leaned into the kiss, wanting the kiss to stretch on as if it was his last "Please don't let it be the last." He pleaded silently before Joey pulled away. Joey smirked at the Egyptian "Does that answer your question?" He asked him. Yami was dumbstruck. "Y- You're not mad?" He stuttered out. Joey scoffed "Oh, I'm plenty mad. But I've seen what that damn seal does to good people." He ranted fiercely. Dejected, Yami lowered his face "Then I don't know if I am a good person." He said sorrowfully. Joey raised his eyebrow "What do you mean?" He wondered cautiously. Yami shook his head "It doesn't matter." He murmured despondently. Joey looked at the older teen concerned "I'm not lettin' it go that easy. Now spill." He encouraged Yami.

Yami puffed out a breath of air "For most of the duel, Raphael kept insinuating that I was an evil pharaoh and that I helped destroy Egypt." He admitted discouragingly. Joey scoffed at the statement "I don't believe that for a second." He declared confidently. Yami raised his eyebrow skeptically "Really? What about when I first came out of the puzzle?" He rebuked knowingly. Joey winced at the remark. It was true that when Yami first appeared he wasn't in the best mindset but hey what the hell do you expect after being in a puzzle for 5,000 years by yourself "Maybe so, but you've come so far since then. You've stopped taking over for Yuge without him knowin', and you've stopped shadow-gaming everyone who hurts Yugi and so much more. I don't think you are evil, misunderstood, and mysterious but not evil." He declared assuredly.

Yami smiled at Joey "Thank you. I'm glad you still want to be with me." He said graciously. Joey rolled his eyes "Of course I do! You made a mistake but that doesn't mean that I'll write you off that easily." He pointed out. Yami smiled softly, "That means a lot, Joey." He murmured. Joey smiled as his arm reached over Yami's shoulder, pulling him to where Yami's head was leaning on Joey's shoulder "Anytime." He said honestly. They sat in silence for a few minutes "Do you think we'll get him back?" Yami wondered softly, glancing up at his boyfriend. Joey leaned down and pecked a kiss on Yami's forehead "Sure we will. We'll get him back in no time." He said hopefully.

Joey sighed as he pushed himself up, while he caused Yami to pull away "Gotta go back, they'll come lookin' soon." He declared knowingly. Yami pouted at Joey "Oh, man! He looks cute when he pouts." Joey observed cutely. Yami got up, grabbed Joey's shirt, and kissed him. Joey deepened the kiss, Yami's hands slinked up Joey's torso and neck before he raked through the blonde's hair and Yami moaned before he abruptly pulled away "While I want to continue, this is still Aibou's body so I think it's better to stop." He mumbled against the blonde's lips. Joey groaned as he reluctantly pulled back. "Fine, are you comin' or what?" He inquired, gesturing to the door. Yami shook his head "In a few minutes." He answered. Joey nodded and chuckled "I," kiss "Will," kiss "hold." kiss "you," kiss "to," kiss "that," He said in between kisses before he opened the door and left the small space.

Yami smiled as he watched Joey get back to his seat "Everything will be just fine." He whispered hopefully. He might've felt a little better and less guilty but there's more ahead and he'll have Joey and his friends by his side.
