Webby glared daggers at her grandmother, her hands slamming down hard on the desk as she stood to her feet.
"So that's what you think of me, huh, granny?" she spat venomously, her eyes narrowing angrily. "I'm just like the clones? Not to be trusted? Well you know what granny?" Webby growled, her hands clenching into fists at her sides. "I'm gonna go find the others, and then I'll think about talking to you again!"
And with those last few words, Webby ran out of the room, the blue bow she was wearing disappearing from sight as the young duckling slammed the door behind her.
As webby raced through the many hallways of FOWL's base, she passed a surprised May and a still kinda livid and concerned June.
"What the-" May started to say but Webby cut her off with a motion of her hand.
"I'm sorry girls but I gotta find the rest of my friends!" Webby waved a quick goodbye before turning and disappearing down another hallway.
May and June shared a look before nodding and racing off after Webby, wanting to help her.
"How the heck is she so fast?" June panted in between gasps for breath. "We'll never catch up to her!"
May frowns and peeks her head around a corner. Her eyes narrow as something catches her eye.
June, noticing her sister's expression, quickly comes to join her as the two young ducklings peek hesitantly around the corner.
They see two other ducklings about the same age as them. One is wearing blue while the other one is decked out in green.
The two sister glance to one another with equal looks of mischief on both of their faces.
Webby continued racing through the halls, looking in every room in search of her family.
But there was nothing so far.
Sighing in a mix of frustration and worry, the young duckling shakes her head and continues her search.
She is so focused on her task that she doesn't realize she bumped into someone until she is flat on her back and staring up at a familiar face.
It was Della: the triplets mom.
Webby shook her head and stood shakily to her feet. She didn't even realize that she was gasping for breath until she found herself on her knees, her hands splayed in front of her, and her head tilted down toward the floor.
It took a few more moments for Webby to catch her breath, but after a moment or two, she slowly sat up and stared up at Della, who was watching her with concerned eyes.
"Are you alright?" Webby heard Della asking her. Webby slowly nodded her head and very carefully stood to her feet.
"Y-yeah, yeah I-I'm fine," she responds after a moment of silence. "I'm sorry for running into you like that."
Della gave her a small smile and placed a hand ion Webby's still-shaking shoulders.
"I'm glad, although I have to say, I wasn't expecting to run right into a kid that looks the same age as my boys." She remarks with a small laugh, and Webby laughs nervously and fiddles with the hem of the blue dress she was wearing.
"What's your name anyway, kiddo?" Della's voice breaks through Webby's whirlwind of thoughts.
Webby's head shot up and her eyes go wide in both fear and surprise.
"Oh, I-I um, you already know who I am." She gives Della a nervous wave and a hesitant smile. "It's me, Webby." Webby speaks up a bit more clearer this time.
Della blinked and bent down to get a better at the young duckling's face. Her eyes went wide in realization upon closer inspection.
"It really is you!" Della breathed, smiling widely and ruffling the girl's hair. "Speaking of which, why are you dressed like that?"
Webby blinked and looked down at the bright blue clothing that she was currently wearing.
"Oh! Um, well you see... it's kinda a long story." Webby mumbled with a nervous laugh. "I would tell it to you but I think you and I both know we've got bigger things to take care of."
At Webby's knowing look and the way she was staring at her, it made Della chuckle at seeing that kind of expression on such a young-looking face.
"Yeah you're right," Della nodded and together, the two ducks turned and raced down another hallway in search of the rest of their family members.
