A/N: Playing around with more ideas and plots…Don't know exactly where I'm going at this point. But here's a one shot that I cooked up…Enjoy!

OOOOOOOOOOO

Scarlet twisted and turned in her sleep, trapped by a nightmare she didn't want. She cried out as she sat up, sweat glistening on her brow. Her chest heaved as she fought to catch her breath. To stop shaking.

He can't!

Scarlet clambered out of bed and over to the door. She raced through it and down the hall. She slid through a familiar door and saw that Logan was asleep on his bed, sprawled out. She stood for a moment by the bed before jumping onto it.

Logan growled and threw his clawed hand up, ready to attack, but Scarlet caught it before he could do any damage.

"Logan, it's me," she murmured, looking at her half asleep man.

"Maria?" Logan retracted his claws and pulled her down onto the bed beside him. "What are you doing up at the ass crack of dawn?"

"I couldn't sleep through the nightmares," Scarlet muttered, curling into his warm body. "There were too many of them."

Logan yawned, nuzzling her. "Want to tell me about it?"

Scarlet sighed. "No…yes…" She sighed. "You were getting married in a few of them…just not to me."

"If not you, then who?"

Scarlet frowned. "To Jean. To Mystique…To…Scooter."

Logan snorted. "Like I would do that. I have far better taste than Scooter."

Scarlet rubbed little circles on his chest, frowning and silent. Logan pulled her closer and held her, eyes closed.

"You know I would never marry any of those options." Logan told her in a deep rumble. "They're not the woman I love."

You sure? Scarlet thought but she kept her mouth shut.

"Besides, you know I'm not the marrying type. Especially since you won't marry me."

Scarlet sighed. "Kind of hard to do when the other guy who likes me is right down the hall. He'd have something to say about me getting hitched to you and not him."

Logan took a slow breath. "Do you think I care about what he thinks or says?"

"You should because he can make your life Hell."

"Put him there first…"

Scarlet rolled her eyes and tried to roll out of bed. Logan held onto her tighter.

"No," he said firmly, eyes still closed. "You stay here and get some sleep. Nightmares can't bother you when I'm here."

Scarlet poked him on the chin. "You have a pokey going on though."

Logan sighed and shifted slightly. "Can't be helped. It's near morning and I have a beautiful woman lying in my arms."

Scarlet growled and started squirming. "I don't do morning pokeys."

"Would you rather be in his bed?"

Scarlet froze. "No! He gets really pissy when you wake him up!"

"Then deal with it or go to your own bed."

Scarlet tucked her head under his chin and held onto him. Logan chuckled and held her close, slowly fading into sleep again. Scarlet was soothed by his presence and fell asleep too.

OOOOOOOOOOOO

"Maria!" Logan said, shaking her none to gently. "Maria, wake up! It's just a nightmare!"

Scarlet came to and realized that she had been crying out. Tears smarted her eyes and she turned away from Logan.

I can't believe myself!

"Are you okay, Maria?" Logan asked, touching her arm.

"Y-yeah. Perfect," Scarlet muttered, blinking back her tears. "Just – just forget anything happened."

Logan wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close. "Maria, tell me about it."

Scarlet shook her head. "I-I can't make myself."

"Try. It'll make you feel better."

Scarlet took a shaky breath. "Logan…I dreamt that Scott found us and that he forced a power dampener on me. Then he – he made me watch as you were destroyed beyond your healing factor's ability."

Logan held her tighter. "That will never happen. Scott will never find us if we don't want to be found. I promise."

"There's a chance…"

"A very small chance. Next to nonexistent. We're invisible to him. You said that you blocked our thoughts from being detected by Cerebro. No one can track us."

Scarlet whimpered and pressed closer to him. "I just have this feeling that they will find us. And it won't be pretty how it all ends."

A knock came at Logan's door.

"Mon Cherie," Remy said, appearing there. "Remy sees that you have found your way to Logan's bed. Good. Less people for Remy to hunt down."

"What's going on, Cajun?" Scarlet asked, sitting up.

"Remy's friends have told Remy that there are some suspicious people in town. They're asking people about three people that they need to see and speak to."

Scarlet frowned and looked towards Logan. "You don't think?"

Logan growled as he swung his legs out of bed. "Sounds like we're going to need to leave out the back and start driving for several hours." He flicked his eyes at Scarlet. "Better get Victor."

Scarlet nodded and slipped past Remy.

"Remy can get you out of town, but after that, you're on your own," Remy said, looking after her for a moment. "There is only so far that old Remy can go."

"Thanks Remy," Scarlet said before ducking into Victor's room. "Hey Tiger! Wake up! We've got to go!"

Victor growled and sat up. "You've got to be kidding me!" He stood up and raked a hand through his hair. "Fucking every single time!"

"Complain about it when we're in the clear, pussycat. We've got to go now!"

Scarlet left Victor grumbling in his room. She hurried back to her room and tossed some proper clothes on.

How could they find us? We were so careful…

Scarlet pushed her thoughts aside and packed her stuff. It didn't matter how the X-Men had found them. It just mattered that they got away from the X-Men.

"I say we stay and fight them," Victor was growling at Logan. "Aren't you tired of running from those pissants?"

Logan growled in return. "We run from them so that Maria stays safe. Or would you rather her get hurt, Victor?"

Victor glared at him. "She's a big girl. She can take of herself."

"If that's your attitude, why don't you stay here and we'll go? Because I'm not about to let her get hurt by those idiots."

"That's not what I meant, Logan, and you know it."

"Then what you do is shut up and move it. We're going to get her to safety."

Scarlet stepped between them when they looked about ready to argue again. "Enough, macho men! You're both idiots and using your muscles instead of your brains. We're going away now!"

Logan took her hand and guided her away from the hall. Scarlet sighed as she listened to his rambling thoughts rushing through his mind. Remy motioned for them to follow him outside.

"Keep going west. Don't stop for a while," he ordered. "Remy will keep the problems at bay." He bowed over Scarlet's hand when he took it. "Mon Cherie, you have Remy's blessing to come back any time."

Victor cursed. "Great. Another one."

Scarlet shot him a glare and slid her hand free. "Thank you, Cajun. For everything." She motioned to her men. "Let's go, boys. It's going to be a long trip."

OOOOOOOOOOOOO
