A Love Like Ours

Disclaimer: I do not own the characters, just the story.

A/N: LoVe shipper… I went on a Veronica Mars binge, and fell in love with Logan/Veronica ship… I don't know just something about them… this is my second story on here… an alternate of Season 2. Meg isn't pregnant and she doesn't die. I like the fact that Veronica had a girl friend she depended on since Lily.

A/N: Re-writing this story …

Summary: Logan and Veronica broke up, but Veronica has a secret. Will she become more of an outcast, or will Logan be able to save her?

Chapter One – A Secret that doesn't stay secret.

"Logan we shouldn't be doing this," she said in between kisses.

"Why not?" he asked pushing her against the wall, and nibbling on her neck. She moaned. "I-I can't-"

"We'll be quiet," he said smirking.

She leaned up and kissed him, and he lifted her up. She wrapped her legs around his waist, and he carried her to the room.

She woke up sweating. That was a memory that kept coming back as a dream. They were together once. For 6 months, they dated, and she was falling for him. She closed her eyes, and leaned back on her wall. Her phone rang shocking her. "Hello?" she answered.

"Hi baby," he said.

She licked her lips, "Duncan," she said.

"Yeah. You okay?"

"Yeah. Just had a weird dream."

"Oh."

"It's nothing. What's up?"

"Well, I was calling because you missed first period."

"Crap," Veronica said, "I'll be there," she hung up, and sat up and fought the nausea she had been feeling. She had been feeling sick the past 2 months, and as much as she fought the feeling she knew. She didn't know what she was doing but she needed to get to school. She quickly grabbed her things and headed out. She was pulling her shoes on as she was passing the livingroom/ kitchen area.

"Hi," her dad said startling her.

"Dad," she said grabbing her heart and Backup ran out.

"Your late I see."

"It's just first period, I'll make it to second," she said grabbing a bottle of water in the fridge.

"Veronica-"

"Can't chat dad, gotta go," she said, and headed out the door. She didn't have time for the 'school's important' talk, and 'don't screw up, you have to get out of Neptune.' She got into her car, and drove to school.

….

She was having a grand o'l two months. She didn't even know her left shoe from her right sometimes, and she missed her period for the second month in a row. She was freaking out inside, but she has missed it during to stress. She couldn't deal with this issue right now. There was the fact that a bus had driven off the cliff a couple days ago, and she was almost on that bus. IF it hadn't been for them leaving her at the gas station, and Weevil, she probably would have been in that bus and gone.

She pulled into the parking lot, and pulled down the mirror. She checked herself, and got out of her car. She walked/ran into the building. Right now they were probably just finishing second period, and on to third. Just as she walked into the building the bell rang. She was rushing to her locker, and walked into someone.

"Well, well well, look whose here," Dick said. "Veronica Mars finally shows up."

"Not right now Dick," Veronica said and headed down the hall.

"Nice talking to you too Veronica," he said after her.

She got to her locker, and felt a rush of nausea crawling up. She took in a breath or two.

"Hey," he said. She looked up to see her brunette boyfriend.

"Hey you," she said smiling as he leaned down and kissed her.

"Are you okay?" he asked as she turned the dials of her locker and pulled it open.

"Yeah, I'm fine," she said taking out two books, and putting it in her bag. She closed her locker, and looked up to see Logan and Dick walking by. She felt the nausea creeping up again, "I'll see you at lunch," she said to Duncan, and ran to the bathroom.

….

Logan Echolls was tapping his pencil on the table waiting for class to start. He looked up to see Veronica walk in looking pale, and sat down at a desk two rows and one desk ahead of his. Something was going on with her. They had been over for 2 months, and he has been a jerk, and sleeping around but he still cared deeply for the girl that got away. He was dealing with a lot of his own as well. His girlfriend was dead, his mom was dead, his sister was who knows where, his dad was in jail, and the one girl he was falling for was sitting a few desks down and not giving him another thought.

"Alright class let's get started," the instructor said.

Logan sighed and opened his book.

"Mr. Wells," Veronica said.

Logan looked up to see her with her hand raised.

"Yes Miss Mars," Mr. Wells said.

"I-I need to –"

"Are you okay Miss Mars?" he asked.

"Yeah," she said standing up feeling light-headed. "I need to- ". Just as Logan saw her falling he was right at her side catching her fall.

…..

Veronica woke up in the Nurse office. She was groggy and she was trying to sit up.

"Slowly Miss Mars," the nurse said.

"Wha-what happened?" she asked.

"You fainted," she said pouring water in a cup. She walked over and handed it to Veronica. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah. I just haven't been eating well. My dad's out of town."

The nurse nodded.

"How did I get in here?"

"Logan carried you in here."

"Logan?"

"Yes. He's a good man that one."

"Yeah," she said softly. "I feel better now" she said standing up. "Thank you, Nurse Cate, I gotta go," she said, and headed out.

"Veronica, please see a doctor," she said as she walked out.

Veronica sighed. She looked up to see Duncan, "Hi."

He gave her a small smile, "Logan mentioned you were here."

"Ah my knight in shining armor," she joked as she started walking down the hall.

"Are you okay?" he asked as they headed to the lunchroom.

"Yeah, I just haven't been eating. The bus accident, Meg in the hospital. It's all getting to me."

He nodded, "Tell me about it. I was trying to see her, and her parents shooed me away again."

She looked at him, "It's crazy isn't it?" she asked as they were in the lunch line.

"Huh?" he asked.

"That I should have been on that bus, but I wasn't."

"Veronica, you not being on that bus was a blessing."

They got their food and headed to a table to sit down. Veronica started eating.

"Ah there they are. My two favorite couples," he said.

They looked up to see Logan glaring down at them.

"Sarcasm suits you well," Duncan said.

Veronica gave him a little smile, "Thank you Logan," she said.

"For?" Logan asked.

"For taking me to the nurse."

He shrugged, "No biggie," he said.

"Always my knight in shining armor," she said smiling.

"Always Ronnie," he said, and looked away. "Well, I'll see you," he said and left.

"What got into him?" Duncan asked.

"I wish I knew," Veronica said sighing staring after him.

"So, you coming over today?" Duncan asked.

"I actually can't today. I-I have to"

"Its fine babe. Maybe come by tomorrow?"

"Yeah," she said and they continued to eat.

Veronica walked into the apartment and bent down to pet Backup who ran up to her. "Hey Backup." She closed the door and pulled out a stick from her pocket. "Well, it's now or never," she said putting her backpack down, and headed to the bathroom with Backup watching her.

(A couple hours later)

Veronica got up from the table where she had been sitting doing homework. She looked over at Backup who was eating. She bit her bottom lip. She had been avoiding going back to the bathroom. She can't believe how a little stick could change her life. She had worked her whole life to get out of Neptune. She wanted to get into Stanford, and this could damage her chances.

She walked to the bathroom. She knew she had to get this done before her dad got home.

She shakily reached out for the stick and turned it over. She inhaled seeing the result. She closed her eyes, "Crap," she said. She quickly wrapped it up, and wiped the tears she didn't know was falling from her eyes. She disposed of the wrapped stick, and washed her face as she heard the door open.

"Veronica I'm home," her dad said.

"Coming out dad," she said trying to pull herself together. She sighed, and she turned and walked out of the bathroom.

…..

Duncan stepped out of his car. He had been calling Veronica since last night and she didn't answer or call back. He saw Logan pull up to a spot. He sighed. He and Logan stopped being friends when Logan started dating Veronica, but they managed to pull through and become somewhat friends. Yet it was still awkward. He saw Veronica pull up a few cars away, and he headed to her.

"Hey," he said as she stepped out of the car.

She jumped a bit, "Hi," she said.

"You okay?" he asked.

She nodded. "Have you heard anything about Meg?" she asked.

"Still in a coma. Her parents won't let me see her. Same o'le same o'le."

Veronica nodded occupied.

"Earth to Veronica. Are you still here?" he asked.

"Uh, yeah. Sorry."

"Well, I'll see you at second," he said kissing her hand.

She blinked, she had no idea they were holding hand, let alone made it into the building.

"Uh yeah. Okay," she said as he leaned in and kissed her lips, and he ran off.

She walked towards her locker and saw Logan goofing off with his boys. She shook her head, and dialed the code in the lock pad.

Logan was a glutton for punishment. He still loved Veronica and seeing her and Duncan just destroyed him.

He watched as the lovely couple sat at a table. He looked down licking his lips.

"Hey, you up for surfing after school?" a voice asked patting him in the back.

Logan looked up, "Huh?" he asked Dick who was looking down at him.

"Surf. You, me, waves."

"Uh, yeah. Sure dude."

"Cool, See you after school. We'll hit it."

Logan chuckled and shook his head. "Don't say it like that."

"Later," he said and ran off.

Logan shook his head again. Dick was a great guy, clueless, dumb as a stick, but he was a good friend. Always there when you needed him. Logan knew that if he was in a jam, Dick was the guy who you could count on to bail you out. He picked a tomato from his salad, and looked up seeing her. "You're blocking my light," he said looking up at her.

"Can we talk?" she asked.

He motioned across of him.

"Not here. I'll come over at 8," she said, and left.

Logan looked after her. There was something about this girl that made him crazy. He always liked her but Duncan got her first. He always liked her, but she kissed him first. As much guilt as he felt for having feelings for her because of Lilly, of his friendship with Duncan, and because he couldn't keep himself from falling for this blonde haired, brown haired girl who was so different from him in many ways.

….

She sat at the doorstep waiting. She checked her watch again. It was 9 pm. She told him 8. She got up and was about to leave when his yellow jeep pulled up. She folded her arms waiting for him. The passenger side and back door opened followed with Dick and Cassidy.

She shook her head as they got out, and headed towards her.

"What's up V?" Dick said. "Playing video games with us?"

She shook her head as they went in with Logan trailing behind. "I said we had to talk," she said.

He put his hands in his back pocket, "So talk," he said.

She shook her head again, "You know, I thought we could be adults about this, but you're still a kid," she said and walked away.

He chuckled, "Is that quip because I'm a few months younger than you are," he said.

She turned sharply, "You never fail to amuse me Logan," she said.

He smirked, "What? Ronnie too old to play with the younger kids?" he asked raising an eyebrow.

Veronica stared at him, and just shook her head. "I shouldn't have come. What I have to say, you little dumb surfer brain can't compute it," she said.

"You didn't say that when you were in my bed," he said tilting his head.

She scoffed, "Real mature Logan. Real mature," she said and walked away.

Logan shook his head, and went into the house.

Veronica walked into her apartment greeted by Backup. "Hey Backup," she said.

"Veronica," her dad said getting up from the couch.

"Hi dad," she said.

"You went to see Duncan?" he asked.

"Logan."

"Why do you seem to keep going back to the that boy?" he asked.

Veronica gave a little smile. "Not by choice dad," she said, and headed to her room. "Goodnight."

"Good night," he said watching his daughter walk to her room, and close the door behind her.

Something was up, and he couldn't place a finger on it, but she wasn't acting like the Veronica he knew.

He looked at Backup, "How about a walk boy?" he asked.

The pitbull barked. He chuckled, "I knew you'd like that," he said getting up and grabbing the leash by the door. They headed out.

Veronica laid on her bed knowing that she had to confirm it . She had to find out before she had to tell him. She knew she had to tell him.
