Chapter 1: A request from the WB

When Judy Hopps completed the case of missing mammals, she had no idea that she would soon find herself swamped with other difficult cases for her to tackle… but hey, that's the life of a police officer: it isn't always high points, you also need to take care of low points too.

She learned that when she was originally assigned as a meter maid for the Zootopia Police Department.

"So where's Judy now?" You all ask me, and to that, here's my reply. "She's on a brand new assignment. One that will last for, thankfully, only just a week."

"What assignment is that?"

Basically, she is to attend security guard duties and watch over the Warner Siblings: Yakko, Wakko and Princess Angelina Contessa Louisa Francesca Banana Fanna Bo Besca the 3rd, aka Dot, but call her Dottie and you die.

"So why in the world would Judy even consider taking on a case like this?" You all will ask, "Wouldn't the likes of Ralph the Guard, or even Dr. Otto von Scratchnsniff the more subtle type of person more subtle for this job?"

My answer to that is, "Dr. Scratchnsniff was away at a psychiatrist convention center that same week. As for Ralph, he wound up breaking his back because of the Warner Siblings schemes."

But we've gone far on with the introductions, well, all except one…

It was about a week or two after Judy and Nick let Flash have a ticket for speeding, as well as enjoy the concert performed by Gazelle with her friends and family, that she was summoned to Chief Bogo's office.

"You wanted to see me, Chief?" she asked.

Chief Bogo, who had been going over the files on the three unknown species siblings, looked up from his reading.

"Ah yes," replied the male Cape buffalo. "Officer Hopps, do come right in. I was expecting you." He then handed the files to Judy. "I have a special case for you, which came at the request of Thaddeus Plotz of the Warner Brothers studio lot."

"Sir?" inquired the rabbit, who raised an eyebrow.

"He asked me to tell you that three of the companies most known Toon stars, the Warner Brothers, as well as their sister Dot, are to stay locked away in their water tower and not cause mischief. For if they escape, it will surely spell chaos and disaster for the company."

Having heard about the Warner Siblings countless escapades, Judy's face then scrunched up in fear.

"It's not that I don't appreciate the case, sir," she said, "but wouldn't the likes of Ralph the Guard, or even Dr. Otto von Scratchnsniff the more subtle type of person more subtle for this job?"

"Regretfully," answered Bogo, "Dr. Scratchnsniff is away at a psychiatrist convention center that is going on this week. As for Ralph, he wound up breaking his back because of those… those…"His face screwed up to think, "What are they again?"

"I don't know," shrugged Judy.

"Well, anyway, because of those three kids' schemes, Ralph is out of commission for a while."

Judy winced at the thought of the case she would have to tackle alone by herself. Without her partner, Nick Wilde, this case was not going to be an easy one for her to say the least.

"How long do I have to stay?" she asked at last, admitting defeat, but not liking the sound of the job altogether.

"One week," replied the Chief of ZPD. "Should you be successful, I'll grant you your vacation. But if you fail, you will be asked to take some time off."

Normally, Nick would've made a snarky comment like, "So either way, you can't lose." But as he was away on another assignment, Judy knew that she had a job to do.

"I'll report to Warner Brothers first thing tomorrow," she said with a sigh.

"Splendid," smiled the head honcho. "Good luck, Officer Hopps."

"Thank you, sir," gulped Judy, who made her exit, complete with backup files on the Warners.

"You're going to need it… immensely." Bogo uttered under his breath as his smile disappeared.
