True Blood

I don't own true blood or anything else.

What if Sookie and Eric met years before vampires came out? How would things be different?

Author's note: I may be changing a lot of events as well as taking out some characters. May changed characters' past and appearances. I may take inspiration from other books and tv shows so that being said not everything will be the same.

Chapter 1

Sookie has been driving around for hours looking for a job. She just turned 18 and graduated high school. So she is slowly entering the adult world one step at a time. She is hoping to get a job a little distance away from Bon Temps. She wants to meet some new people and see new faces. So at the moment she is driving around Shreveport hoping to see a help wanted sign. She was about to give up when she saw one in a window of a sketchy hotel. She parked her car and went in.

"Hello, I saw the help wanted sign in the window." Sookie said very eager.

She saw an older but still attractive lady walk towards her. Maybe mid-thirties? She was very tall, very thin. She had auburn hair down a few inches past her hair was also a bit wavy. She was wearing a very tight black skirt with white tee shirt that read Night owls hotel. Her eyes were almost like an emerald of how green they were.

"Hello there, I am Pam. The owner is in the back and can be with you in a few minutes. You can fill out the application as you wait."

"Thank you"

Sookie sat down to wait. Pam's mind was blank which is a bit odd to Sookie since usually after meeting someone new their thoughts are screaming opinions about her. She didn't think to much of it though. She filled out the application in her neatest handwriting. She stood up handed it to Pam and then sat back down to wait.

Pam got up and walked to the backroom.

"Hey Eric, another one walked in. This one actually seems like she has a brain in her head though."

"So, what you are saying is that I need to hire this one because you found one you can actually work with" Eric said as he sighed.

"She is also your type. Pretty, blonde, blue eyes" Pam said while smiling.

"I don't have a type" Eric said angrily then took a deep breath.

"What is she like" Eric asked.

"Her name is Sookie, looks like she is freshly out of school. She lives in Bom Temp… probably looking for an excuse to get out of that town. She is eighteen and looks like both her parents ar decease" Pam said skimming through her application.

"Oh, also she seemed really excited when she walked in" Pam added.

Eric got up and walked out of the backroom and towards the lobby. Thinking to himself how an eighteen-year-old girl can be excited to work at this sketchy, run down hotel. Maybe Pam was right, and she is looking for an escape… but either way it's hard finding someone Pam will work with so better not skip this chance.

"Hello, are you Sookie" Eric said as he approached her.

"Yes, I am" she said while smiling.

"Well, I was basically just told I would be an idiot if I didn't hire you" Eric chuckled.

"So, be here tomorrow at 7pm?" Erik asked.

"Yes, I will" Sookie said with the biggest smile on her face.

Sookie then thanked him and skipped happily out the door. She was so happy she wasn't paying attention to where she was going. A car was speeding towards her. The car slammed on the breaks by the time the car saw her it was to late. She was sent flying through the glass window of the hotel. Both Pam and Eric stood up.

"Well that one didn't last long" Pam said smarmily.

Eric rushed over to Sookie. There was no point in calling an ambulance, she would b dead by the time they arrived. She had at least three broken ribs, a broken leg, maybe a broken arm as well as a collapsed lung. So he bit into his wrist.

"Hey Sookie, I will explain more later but all you need to know for now is that if you don't drink now you will die" Eric said as quickly as he could.

Sookie listened. She wasn't sure if it was the blood lost or what, but she swore it looked like her boss had fangs. She blinked hardly a few times, but she was really seeing it. Then the pain came. She screamed in agony as her bones fixed themselves. As her lung reinflated, she was gasping for air. Then she slowly lifted herself off the ground with pure confusion on her face.

"Okay so just forget any of this happened" Eric said trying to glamor her.

"Forget this happened? You are a vampire. How can I forget that? She said a bit angrily.

"How did you know that?" Eric asked jokingly.

"The fangs have it away… Oh I drank your blood. Am I going"

Erik cut her off "No you aren't."

"But you aren't exactly human either, are you?"

Sookie started to look guilty.

"Well, I can hear people's thoughts well everyone except yours apparently. But I wouldn't say there isn't anything supernatural about it"

Eric took a deap breathe. Went behind the counter and grabbed tee shirt and sweatpants.

"Here take these, your clothing is soaked in blood. Go change and go home and see you tomorrow. We can talk more then when you aren't so heated if you want. If you don't, that's fine too."

Sookie took the clothing changed and left.

"What is it about her?" Pam asked

"What do you mean?"

"You went out of the way to save her, told her the truth. All in a short thirty minutes of knowing her. If I didn't know any better I would say you feel something for her"

"I don't know what it is. There is just something about her" Eric admitted.
