Perry watched as Phineas ran the fur sample through a machine Ferb built. "Okay...and...done!" Phineas pulled out the paper that printed from the machine. "A duck..." Phineas stared. "A duck?"
"A duck?" Ferb checked.
"A duck," Phineas answered.
"Weird," Candace said.
"Very weird," Phineas replied.
"I'll let Jeremy know," Candace said, pulling up Jeremy's contact.
"What else does Bumblebumpter do at this point?" Phineas asked Ferb.
Ferb shrugged. "Maybe we'll go finish it. Hey, Candace. We're going to finish the movie to see what Bumblebumpter does," Phineas said.
"Yeah, whatever," Candace said, waving her hand. Phineas and Ferb walked into the house, Perry following.
"Hey, Jeremy!" Candace exclaimed.
"Hey, Candace. What's up?" Jeremy asked on the other end.
"Phineas and Ferb found out what that fur sample was."
"What is it?"
"This is going to sound stupid but...it's a duck."
"A...duck?" Jeremy asked. "But ducks don't have fur!"
"Wait! You're right! They have feathers!"
"Yeah isn't that a little weird to you?"
"It is! I'll go tell my brothers!"
"Good luck, Candace," Jeremy said.
"Thanks!" Candace hung up and ran into the house. "Phineas! Ferb!"
"Shh! Candace, he's about to solve the case!" Phineas whispered. Candace looked at the screen.
Bumblebumpter wrote on a sheet of paper, 'Who, what, when, where, why' and 'how.'
"Who? What? When? Where? Why? How?" Phineas asked.
"Oh! I've heard about that!" Candace said. "It's a way to discover more clues! Who is for the culprit and who did it. What is what was stolen. When is the time it was done. Where is kinda obvious. Why is why they did it. And how is how they did it."
"Wow, Candace! You know a lot!" Phineas exclaimed.
"Nah, just Sherlock Holmes," Candace said, waving a hand at her brother.
"Ferb! I know what we're going to from this point in the day!" Phineas said. "Back to Jeremy's house!" They walked into the backyard. "Oh, but we should probably pick this up first."
Ferb pulled out a small remote and pressed a button. The machine used to make the clothes folded up into a small square. Ferb picked it up and pocketed it. "Nice! Should we see if Isabella wants to come?"
"Come where?" Isabella asked.
"We're investigating a crime scene at Jeremy's house. A set of pliers and his phone was stolen," Phineas explained.
"Oh no! That's horrible!" Isabella said.
"That's why Ferb, Perry, Candace and I are investigating! We just wanted to see if you want to come along!"
"I would love to!" Isabella said. "Although I'll have to join in tomorrow. I have a few things to attend to at the Fireside Girls meetup."
"Well, have fun then, Isabella!" Phineas said.
"Thanks! I will!" Isabella smiled, walking off.
"Come on, guys! Let's go gather some testimony!" Phineas said, walking through the back gate.
Candace, Phineas, Ferb and Perry all met back up at Jeremy's house. Candace knocked on the door. Jeremy opened it. "Oh, hi again! Come in!"
"We need to gather testimony," Phineas said.
"Oh, okay! Then ask away!"
"Let's see. Who. Who was there when your phone was stolen?"
"Well, I was, but I was near the sink. And then whoever stole my phone was there too," Jeremy said.
"Wait, if your phone was stolen, how did you answer my call?" Candace asked, feeling embarrassed.
"We have a house phone. My number is connected to it as well," Jeremy explained.
"What. What was stolen. We've covered this," Phineas muttered. "When. When id it happen?"
"This morning. Although the pliers were stolen at around noon. Both of them was when I wasn't near them," Jeremy reminded.
"Where. Jeremy's house...Why? Why?"
"Why? How am I supposed to know?" Jeremy asked. "My best guess is that I made somebody mad and they want to retaliate."
"And how."
"How?" Jeremy asked.
"Yeah, how. How were they stolen?"
"Hmm...how? I never thought to investigate that. How would be a great question. I do think that whoever it was was short so they had to use my chair to get my phone. I left the pliers on the floor so they probably just snatched it off the ground," Jeremy suggested.
Perry walked into another room. He put his hat on and pulled out the walkie talkie. Static buzzed on the screen. Perry clicked. He wacked the communicator. The static never moved. He put the walkie talkie away. He tried his watch. Perry clicked. Again, nothing but static.
This is not good. Someone is purposefully trying to stop Perry from solving this mystery. There is only one other person to get to. Doofenshmirtz.
Perry walked out of the house. Phineas walked into the room Perry was just in, looking for clues. "Hey, where's Perry?"
Perry knocked Doofenshmirtz's door. Doofenshmirtz opened the door. "Perry the Platypus? What are you doing here?" Perry ran inside and turned on Doofenshmirtz's computer. He tried to contact Monogram on it. He tried three times before he figured nothing was going to happen.
"What's wrong, Perry the Platypus?" Doofenshmirtz asked. "I've never seen you want to use my computer."
Perry clicked. "You know I still can't understand you." Perry rolled his eyes and pulled his notebook and pen out. He scribbled on the paper and then turned it around. 'I can't contact Major Monogram.'
"So that's why you came to my computer then," Doofenshmirtz stated. Perry nodded a reply. 'And I have clues.'
"Hey, that's great news!" Doofenshmirtz cheered. "What are they?"
Perry told him how Jeremy's phone went missing, along with his pliers, the yellow paint on the table, and the duck fur. 'The only problem is that ducks don't have fur.'
"Weird but okay. Why steal some kid's phone? Might as well take Rodger's phone!" Perry shot him a look. "Right, sorry. So you found yellow paint, duck...fur, and some missing supplies, including a phone and pliers."
Perry nodded. "This needs more investigating, Perry the Platypus. These are just a bunch of weird clues. Although the duck fur is weird."
'Do you think maybe the fur brushed against a duck?'
Doofenshmirtz began pacing. "That could be an option. Or the perpetrator was trying to throw you off so that you couldn't follow them. Then they cut the connection between Francis. Whoever it is, they really know how to work. Maybe I should take some lessons from them..." Perry clicked at Doofenshmirtz.
"Right, back on topic." He stopped pacing. "You think the...duck...will come back?" Perry shrugged, then nodded. "We could put cameras up to see if the duck thing comes back for more supplies. Whoever it is, they have a big plan, and they really hate you!"
Doofenshmirtz put his hands in his pockets. "Hey." He pulled them out, holding handfuls of the same ticket. "Hey, look! My tickets! They were in my pockets! I can go watch my movie now!" His smile grew bigger. "See ya, Perry the Platypus! I'm off to see my movie! Let me know if you find anymore clues!"
