Naruto woke up in a hospital bed to the faces of two people the first, his Jiji, the third Hokage and an unfamiliar blonde woman in a purple dress with a white hat. Both were smiling at him. The blonde woman spoke first "Hello little one how are you feeling after last night?"

Naruto scrunched his nose "sore but otherwise good I guess… why did thos-" the boy cut himself off "who are you? Why are you here with Jiji?"

The blond woman only laughed which made him pout. "This here is Yakamo Yukari, please call her Yakamo-san." his Jiji responded, already accounting for Naruto's general overly casual nature. "She was here on behalf of her teacher and friend… a late Uzumaki kara…"

"Wait…UZUMAKI… was she my mom!?" Naruto blurted out. The blonde woman laughed out some more "no, no your mom was a one Uzumaki Kushina. I was here to find the members of her clan. Kara-san…she wanted it to reunite them."

"Oh…well I'm the only Uzumaki I know so I wont be of any help to you…"

"Yes but she might be of help to you Naruto." The Hokage said.

"Wha… how? Naruto questioned

"like 'Jiji'-san explained" Yukari said giggling at the term "my teacher was an Uzumaki I know of your clan's special techniques mainly related to seals and barriers. I would love for me and my students to pass them on to another Uzumaki."

"Oh wow!" Naruto exclaimed "thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou!"

Yukari held a finger up to naruto's lips before she continued "I also have my own skills to teach you, however there is a catch." Naruto looked up expecting the worst. "learning what I want to teach you will take time and effort. I have my own … students and a home I must tend to so for the time being I want to take you and 3 very powerful Shin-obi to my home for five years while so we can train you."

Naruto looked serious "this is a lot to think about… leaving my home, I need some time." On one hand he didn't want to leave his only home but on the other his experience last night made the idea very appealing.

"Of course you do, Naruto take you time and heal up, after you are done healing I want you to meet with the Shinobi who would be training you." The Hokage said. A little while later the young blond was discharged.

Hiruzen had walked Naruto home "Stay here until I call you ok?" "OK Jiji!"… Hiruzen closed the door. "I'm hungry. I'm going to Ichiraku!"

A few hours later Naruto received a knock on his door when he answered an anbu in a white coat was there. "You are called by the Hokage. I am to take you there immediately."

Before Naruto could respond the masked man grabbed him and in a puff of smoke he was at the looking at the Hokage from in front of his desk. "Hello Naruto are you doing better now?"

"i'm doing Awesome Jiji!" the young blond replied "Is this about the super cool ninja you wanted to meet me!"

"Yes id like to introduce you to the forth Hokage's personal guard!" Hiruzen said when in walked the three former guards. Earlier he had given them a mission briefing including the events that had happened last night and Naruto's parentage.

Naruto had never met any of these ninja before, that didn't stop him from being star struck. "wooooow you guys guarded the forth hokage!?" The three chuckled "Yes, Naruto bu-

"WOOW THIS IS SOOOO COOL I GET TO TRAIN WITH YOU GUYS AND GO ON A MISSION OUTSIDE THE VILLAGE WHERE LEARN ABOUT MY CLAN THIS IS GONNA BE THE BEST!"

"Now hold on Naruto, Genma said senbon still in mouth. All of the ninja were in agreement with the hokage: they wanted to train Naruto but didn't want him to leave the village on these terms "you should take some time to think about this -"

"But I did!" Naruto exclaimed "Its been a month in the ninja academy and I still have no friends and all the kids pick on me and all the teachers hate me and I learn nothing there! With Yakumo san i'll learn all about my clan and become strong enough to make the villagers and ninja stop ignoring or whispering mean things about me!
There was a silence filling the air. It was horrible to here how Naruto was treated, Hiruzen hoped he would be able to make friends with his class, thats why he was put in a class with many clan heads. Their parents should be more knowledgeable about seals and how they work and wouldn't raise their kids to hate the boy. But it just wasn't that easy. Coupling that with the obvious gaps in what is considered pre-academy knowledge and lack of social skills both due to never having a consistent parental figure to guide him, and he became an easy target to bully both inside school and a pariah as much as outside.

Another worrying thing was how quickly Naruto was willing to leave, sure he wanted to come back, but at the first sign of positive attention and family he was influenced. Had Yukari or anyone else wanted she could have easily manipulated him to go with her on the same trip, not even talking to Hiruzen, and then he could have then been turned against the leaf. Hiruzen's mind drifted to what if Yukari hadn't found him that night but his traitor student did. That was a scary thought.

Genma broke the silence "Well if thats your choice, thats your choice. But either way it'll take us a week to prepare and you'll still have to go to school while we do, so why don't you give us your final answer on Friday?" Naruto agreed but made it clear he was still packing tonight.

If this week in school was suppose to make Naruto reconsider leaving it was failing horribly. Actually it was doing the reverse. First he was mocked by (mostly civilian) students for asking about the Uzumaki clan in class, with some kids saying there was no clan, and he was making it up. Then when Iruka actually glossed over the history of the clan, his bullies said the Uzumaki didn't matter because the clan was extinct anyways. Even some of the students with biases against him felt that was a low blow.
Next he had gotten into a fight trying to save this little girl with white eyes from the bullies, he got deja vu because this happened before during the winter before he entered the academy. At least he wasn't beaten up again. Naruto also was mocked for not knowing answers to questions that were considered common knowledge but it wasn't his fault no-one told him. He had no-one to tell him. He also lost all the sparring matches he had this week. He honestly wanted to go on the trip just to learn tai-jutsu alone now. Suffice to say he never even thought of unpacking his travel bags or going back on his decision even once.

On the upside he had been meeting with the Kage guard every so often now. he also made at least one sorta, kinda, maybe, friend, Shikamaru. He at least let him set near him and Choji so that was nice. He asked if he could wright to them when he left. Iwashi said he should make his hand writing readable first. He later found itching powder in his jacket. On the Friday before he was going to leave he told the class. They didn't believe him until the Kage guard picked him up after school. Hinata, the white eyed girl, must of been thankful he saved her, because she wished him a goodbye before fainting. Maybe he'd write to her as well.

When it was time to go Naruto felt a slight apprehension which is to be expected, even though he didn't have the best life in the leaf he grew up here. Shikamaru met him at the village gate, Where Yukari set up the portal (or as she called it the gap) to her homeland. There they said their goodbyes. Afterwards the adults called out to Hinata who was hiding behind a tree to come out, she got flustered and fainted before she could give naruto her going away gift, a pair of black fingerless gloves that had the Uzumaki symbol on them but Naruto picked them up. He thought Hinata fainted because she was sick, so he decided to wash them before he wore them but he appreciated the gesture. The adults laughed at the young girls crush and Naruto's lack of awareness to it. Then they stepped though the portal. When the got out on the other side Naruto' first words were " Oh this place is …
