Chapter 30: Roleswap

I am so frustrated like why am I always being thrust into positions of leadership and never being told anything. Like was I supposed to just telepathically obtain information about everything that being a president of a club in Doki Doki High entails? Any sensible person would agree that no I wasn't but Principal Creative Emogal and Megan Saikou and everyone else in Doki Doki High would agree that yes I was although they didn't admit it personally. But let's talk about everything from the beginning.
So first of all the business owners meeting. First of all I had a TV meeting with Megan as usual and she immediately asked "I was informed that there was a new President of the Doki Doki Light Music Club do you know her?" and I "Of course I know her, she's me" and Megan gasped and I suppose in that gasping there was a telepathic packet of information supposed to come but it didn't work maybe we needed to be present in front of each other in person. Look I don't know the first thing about telepathy and I'm just making stuff up but I assume it works somehow.
TODO: politely ask any of the Saikou I get a hold of (most likely Sectumsempra, the Math teacher) if me and Megan will ever be allowed proper, face-to-face time.
Anyway she immediately "I am so proud of you you have come so far now I'm definitely sure that you're not a dangerous murderer" and so on until the rest of the Student Council called time. And then I met up with Skepness Man and we talked some but it took until "I'm the President of the Doki Doki Light Music Club, and Caroline Diamond is one of its members" and he stopped talking to me or even acknowledging me like does the animosity between him and Caroline run that deep.
Like I don't know pairs of siblings all that well all I've got to go by is myself and Norman but at least we talked. And even after I ran away and he tracked me down we still talked, and I still talked about him. I don't know what it is between Skepness Man and Caroline but it's got to get resolved, now. I also don't know what it was between Skepness Man and Sayori Bucket-Andersen but she committed sewiside so at this point who cares.
But anyway that's just one part of the equation. The other one came today after lessons and just as I was about to start the club activity and practicing instruments (and this time it was normal instruments and not the beeps of the Commander PET). First of all there was the usual interruption from Jan Misali asking "wait a minute the extracurricular activity Madeline is supposed to be attending is creating a conlang with me, will that ever be respected?" and luckily Caroline very politely "not as long as she is the President of the Doki Doki Light Music Club" and Monika added "yeah, being president of a club in Doki Doki High is something that is respected above everything else, speaking from experience" and that shut them up and they left hopefully forever.
Anyway we set up and we practiced my song the one that we decided to call Lovesick Girl after the repeating motif. But we didn't even properly finish one rehearsal and Principal Creative Emogal burst in. "Hey, this is a special delivery for Doki Doki Yanderes (band), it's an invitation to the inter-school battle of the bands set to start next week" and we exchanged looks and I took the invitation paper and allowed Creative Emogal to leave but then I stopped.
Then I slammed the invitation paper on the table. "How come I am never told about these things? I need to see Melody Xiang real quick where is she" and Caroline and Avril and Monika all shrugged so I didn't know where to start. Okay that's a lie I always know where to start it's to ask Info Girl but she did say that I'm not allowed to solicit information but maybe that was just a recording she was supposed to hand over to me but never did. Anyway if we're through I needed to find out that as well as find Melody so I went to the Computer Science room.
At the Computer Science room there was immediately a girl with crazy dyed black and red hair idly typing something on a Commander PET I immediately recognized it as the beeping commands. And she entered RUN and the beeps happened and I listened I had to admit they were pretty good even if our beeps were superior. But then the computer flared up and started typing on its own.
IG: Do you really think it's amusing to beep the same beeps that got Code Info activated for the first time?
IG: Wait. You're not even Madeline. Who are you? Nevermind don't answer that I still have the student records and I can still observe you with the cameras so maybe I can find out.
IG: Melody Brooklyn Xiang, former President of the Doki Doki Light Music Club? What are you doing here? You literally know nothing about me and probably think that I'm just an ugly rumor spread around by Doki Doki High students and we have nothing in common and I have no obligation to answer questions you ask.
And Melody finally typed.
I have no questions. I just want to spend time with some beeps and hopefully get better at them.
IG: I don't think you've been instructed on how the Info Girl chat client works. You've got to preface whatever you're saying with your initials, so in this case, "MX:". And again, beeps are offensive to me and I don't know how much more I can take.
MX: Why do you care? You just said we have nothing in common, and therefore, have no obligation to respect each other's boundaries.
IG: But we're kind of talking. Ugh! Feelings are complicated. Anyway, there's someone behind you, I think she wants to talk to you. I'll let it happen.
And Melody turned around and before she could speak I immediately asked. "So what is this thing about the inter-school battle of the bands? Like, where do I even show up to attend it and participate?"
"Don't worry about it. Creative Emogal will book plane tickets and guide you further. Now go on, live out my dream." and I "It's usually 'live out your dream', I'm under no obligation to live anyone else's dreams" and Melody "But you have my position now, as President of the Doki Doki Light Music Club. It's only right."
And I "Ugh, whatever. Continue on with Info Girl, live out my dream of being best buds with her and knowing all the intel. But first, some juicy info on her. First, her real name is Joey Claire, second, her base of operations is right here in Doki Doki High. Now you know everything you need in order to blackmail her." and Melody turned back around and typed.
MX: I'm back, Joey.
IG: I don't know who Joey is, but if you shut up about it, I will grant you all the intel in the world. Deal?
MX: Deal.
And though I couldn't see Melody I'm sure she smiled right there.
So. Yeah. Inter-school battle of the bands. Something the Doki Doki Light Music Club needs to prepare for. And I should stop randomly heading out of club meetings just to hook up someone else with Info Girl since she hates me now.
And hopefully I know everything I need to know as President of the Doki Doki Light Music Club now.
