Their Hope
Chapter Seven
'We will be landing in four minutes,' Hotshot says over the ships comms.
'Thank you hotshot,' Allie replies.
'General Shaak Ti will be there to meet you,' Allie nods, but is fidgeting in her seat with her fingers, so not completely paying attention.
'Allie, whatever it is, it will be alright,' Coric tries to comfort and reason with the clearly distressed young Jedi, master or not.
'The closer we get to Kamino, the more I feel I am right, which isn't alright. Once we land follow me, we are not going to have time to stop and chat,' everyone nods at her.
'And we are down, thank you for flying air Hotshot,' this gets a small giggle from Allie, as they disembark the shuttle.
'Welcome to Kamino, Master Alayah,' Shaak Ti greets, making Domino double take as they have never heard Allie's full name before.
'Thank you, Master Ti, and it's just Allie. I'm afraid I don't have time to chat right now or explain why I am here, but if you would be so kind as to follow me, I could use the back up,' Allie says walking quickly from the landing pad and through the halls allowing the Force to guide her.
'Hevy?' Hevy stops at hearing someone call his name and smiles when he sees 99.
'99, good to see you,' Hevy replies.
'Hevy, I'm really sorry, I promise you will have time to catch up but I need you to follow me right now,' Allie says firmly.
'Right, of course Allie,' Hevy smiles one more time at 99 before hurrying to catch up with everyone.
'We are heading towards General Krell's quarters,' Shaak Ti observes.
'Yes,' Allie says grimly.
'Do you think he is in danger?'
'No, I think he is the danger,' Allie says solemnly.
'Surely you do not mean that,' Shaak is shocked, having known Krell for years.
'I really hope I am wrong, but…'
'The Force is guiding you,' Shaak finishes for her with a sigh. Turning the corner onto the hallway where Krell's quarters are located, Allie pauses seeing the troops sat down along the wall outside his door. 'What is going on here?' Shaak asks in shock. 'All of you should be resting or in the medical centre.'
'Generals, sirs… Ma'am, we are waiting for our…' the trooper doesn't get to finish before both Jedi hear a grunt of pain and feel pain bleed into the Force around them.
'What was that?' Shaak asks, but Allie is already moving towards the door, throwing it open with the Force and signalling for Domino to take up positions on either side of her.
'What is the meaning of this!?' Krell demands seeing his fellow Jedi enter his quarters, along with clone troopers he doesn't recognise.
'What is the meaning of this?' Allie sarcastically copies Krell. 'What the shab do you think you're doing!?' Allie shouts back.
'How I discipline my men is no concern of yours girl,' Krell snarls darkly, shocking Shaak at the tone.
'Master Krell, I do not believe this…' Shaak start but Allie cuts her off.
'Oh no concern, it bloody well is when the Force lead me here and you are clearly enjoying this,' Allie snarls, making sure to keep herself between Krell and his lieutenant. 'I wonder, how well do you think you've hidden those messages on your data pad?' Allie smirks seeing a brief flash of fear go across Krell's face.
'I don't know what you are talking about,' Krell snarls back on the defensive, moving his hands to his lightsabres.
'You, messages, Separatists. Ringing any bells?' Allie asks with a shrug.
'Oh Krell you didn't,' Shaak pleads to her friend.
'Why wouldn't I? We aren't going to win this war and we will lose ourselves to it, so why bother trying,' Krell snaps activating his sabres and striking out at Shaak who is stood closer to him but she draws her sabre quickly, blocking him.
'Stand down Krell, we will take you before the council,' Shaak says calmly trying to reason with him.
'He will not back down young one,' the Force whispers to Allie as she draws her own sabres.
'You won't take me back to Coruscant alive,' Krell laughs as he keeps up his attacks on Shaak, as good as she is, she isn't as strong a duellist as Krell.
'Leave her alone,' Allie snarls, blocking Krell's strikes and force kicking him backwards.
'Oh, the youngling wants to play, you are out matched child,' Krell laughs, moving swiftly back towards her, striking quickly and efficiently, as Allie struggles to keep up barely blocking some of his strikes.
'Trust me young one,' the Force calmly assures her. Allie slows her breathing and closes her eyes, trusting the Force to her help, to guide her.
'I can't get a clear shot, not without risking hitting Allie,' Fives shouts in frustration, as everyone else nods in agreement, while Coric is kneeling next to lieutenant Cap treating his wounds.
Shaak joins Allie against Krell but even with the combine force of both of them, Krell is hard to pin down or disarm.
'Krell stop this,' Shaak demands.
'Never. You'll have to kill me or let me go,' Krell laughs knowing the Jedi master won't kill him.
'Well in that case,' Allie force kicks him once again but expecting it this time, Krell braces himself and isn't really moved by the kick.
'Nice try but fool me once and all that,' Krell laughs but it dies on his lips as Allie plunges both of her lightsabres through his chest.
'The Force will not judge you kindly. May everyone you have hurt find you on the other side,' Allie snarls before deactivating her sabres as Krell falls to his knees before falling forward onto his face. Allie breaths fast as Cutup and Droidbait run to her side.
'You okay vod'ika?' Cutup asks, placing a hand on Allie's shoulder.
'Fine, fine. Master Ti are you okay?' Allie asks gesturing to her arm where Krell managed to land a glancing blow with his sabre.
'I am fine young one, thank you. Though the fact I did not sense this is troubling me greatly,' Shaak shakes her head but smiles kindly at Allie.
'Allie,' Coric calls getting her attention and she immediately rushes to his and Cap's side.
'What's wrong Coric?' Allie asks, kneeling in front of Cap and taking his hand in hers, causing him to flinch. 'It's alright, I promise you, I will never hurt you,' she gently squeezes his hand and turns her attention back to Coric.
'I don't know if I'll be able to save his sight,' Coric states, this causes all the vode in the room to flinch, a blind clone is a decommissioned clone.
'Let me see what I can do,' Allie raises her hand to Cap's face and allows the Force to flow from her to him, causing him to flinch once again. 'Sorry, I know it feels weird,' Allie laughs softly, still finding using the Force a little weird herself.
'Allow me to help you,' Shaak joins her and together they heal the damage done to the lieutenants eyes.
'Can you see us?' Allie asks as Cap blinks his eyes.
'Y…y…yes,' Cap stutters in relief, the rest of the vode in the room relax too.
'Right, let's get everyone to medical. Coric can you check on the status of everyone else from Krell's old unit and tell me how long it will take for them all to be safely transported to the Resolute?'
'Planning on adopting them?' Fives laughs.
'Yep, got a problem with that?' Allie smiles sweetly in return.
'Oh I can't wait to see Rex's face,' Hevy laughs as Allie stick her tongue out at him. Shaak Ti smiles seeing the young woman before her interacting with her troops.
'I will contact the council and deal with Krell,' Shaak says.
'Thank you Master Ti, and sorry about the mess,' Allie bows to the older female.
'No need dear, and thank you, and just Shaak is fine,' Allie grins before walking out of the room with all the vode following her.
'Ma'am what did you mean by adopting us?' one of Cap's men asks.
'Oh, I'm taking you all back with us to the 501st. If you want to come with me that is, you don't have to,' Allie says quickly.
'It would be an honour to serve with the 501st Ma'am,' Cap says.
'The honour will be all mine, to serve alongside you,' Allie smiles. 'How many of your battalion survived Krell's last campaign?' Allie asks, though she dreading the answer.
'Just twenty Ma'am,' Cap says sadly, thinking of the men he failed.
'Alright. Oh, please there is no need for the Ma'am, just Allie is fine,' Allie says smiling tightly.
'That may be difficult Ma'am,' Cap replies grimacing as Krell hated to be addressed by anything less than proper titles.
'Take your time,' Allie reassures him. 'Oh force I am so sorry, I never asked your names. Names men, not your numbers.'
'I'm lieutenant Cap, these are Oaks, Cliff and Snipe,' Cap introduces.
'Pleasure to meet you gentlemen. Right I have a few things I need to do while I am here, so off to medical with you all and I'll catch up with you later,' Allie smiles before running off in the opposite direction from the nearest medical bay.
'Where is she going?' Hevy sighs.
'Who knows?' Echo shrugs.
'Think we should go with her?' Cutup suggests.
'If she wanted us with her, she would have asked,' Fives replies. 'Let's get these brothers to medical, then go find 99.'
'You know if something happens to her, you're the one explaining it to Rex,' Droidbait laughs at his brothers horrified expression.
'Yeah, yeah, yeah,' Fives pushes his batchmate before leading the way.
'Why would it matter to Captain Rex if something happened to the General?' Cap questions.
'Ha, just wait until you see them together,' Coric mutters. 'Right enough chatter, let's get moving.'
Whilst the vode are heading for the medical bay, Allie has a mission of her own. Sneaking into the Kaminoan's labs is far too easy, though she supposes no clone would dare for fear of being decommissioned or causing other vode to be. Hacking into their computer system goes smoothly, thanks to the Force's help. She quickly finds the list of orders and the control system for the inhibitor chips in the clone's brains.
'Right let's shabla the chancellor's plan,' Allie quietly says to herself before grinning evilly. 'Oh I cannot wait to see his face,' she says as she cracks her knuckles before beginning to type.
