Author's note: Like seriously, I did NOT mean for chapter 5 to be 3k long. Sorry about that.
The batmobile raced through Chinatown until it got onto a bridge leading to the factory. They found Gordon and some of his guys there. The car parks and Batman ejects from his seat with Dutch and Arthur getting out behind him. Bats approaches Gordon.
"Any word from inside?" He asks him. "Nothing. We think there's a skeleton crew left in there, but they're not responding and the facilities locked down." Gordon answers. "If they're still alive, we'll find them. They should be able to tell us what Scarecrow's up to." Suddenly, everyone hears a helicopter engine, and a battle copter appears. "What the hell?" Gordon asks. The chopper fires a few missiles at the bridge, blowing it up and disconnecting it from the building. "Come on, move, move, move! Take cover!" Gordon urges everyone to take cover besides Batman. He approaches the copter as its pilot says, "Time to die, old man!" The Knight presses a button, but the screen says "system override, " and Crane appears on a smaller screen next to it. "In death, he has nothing left to fear. Keep him away from ACE Chemicals. Your vengeance will come."
The chopper flies back to the facility. "This ends tonight." Huge doors open, and 2 Rattler Drones drive up to the entrance. They fire their Gatling guns at Batman, but he dodges every shot and retreats behind a police cruiser. The doors close. "Friend of yours?" Gordon asked. "Dutch, Arthur, with me, Jim, keep everyone else here. We'll go find out." Arthur wasn't looking forward to grappling again, but what choice did he have. He and Dutch grab onto Batman, and he grapples up to the roof above the doors.
From there, they saw hundreds of militia and tons of Drones. "Oracle, whoever this guy is, he's assembled an army. I need a name." Batman spoke to the holographic Barbara."Alright, We've got something from a black ops team operating in Venezuela. They discovered a hidden training facility housing soldiers bearing the same insignia. There's nothing but speculation on their commander, though. The only thing sources agree on is his name: The Arkham Knight." Oracle told them. "One of the militia said that name." Dutch commented. "
"The Arkham Knight? Hack into their comms. We need to know what they're planning." Batman tells her. "Anything else." She asks. "There's a crew of ACE Chemicals workers left on site. They'll be able to help us track down Scarecrow and locate his bomb. We need to find them." He finishes.
"Each worker will be carrying a unique ID chip." Oracle says. "If I can access their personnel
records, I'll be able to track them." Batman says. "There's a security booth near your location. Try there. Oh, and I happen to know you have some gunslingers helping you on the field this time." Barbara says. "How did she know?" Arthur asks. "I can track and see inside the batmobile. Nice try. Are you sure you can trust them, Batman?" She asks. "1 of them managed to destroy 5 tanks with a cattleman revolver. He hit the lights on them, and they blew up. Also, Crane has some of their friend's." Batman explains. "So Dutch Van Der Linde and Arthur Morgan are helping us. Looks trying to figure out why their here is a mystery for another day." Barbara says.
"And if Mr. Morgan managed to shoot 5 tanks in their lights. Maybe that's a weak point. I'll investigate and report back soon." Barbara disappears. Batman finds the terminal on a walkway under them guarded by militia. "There are 5 soldiers, each one armed and dangerous. We'll have to take them out before we can access that terminal." Arthur spotted a ladder leading down to the terminal next to him and Dutch. "We'll use that to get down there." The gunslingers slide down the ladder and see 2 militia. "Arthur, you take 1. I'll take the other." Arthur nods and slowly approaches the enemy he sees a glass bottle and smiles to himself. He grabs it and smashes it on the soldier's head. knocking him out.
Dutch just hit the other guy with his revolver again. "Where's Batman?" Arthur asks. "I already saw him take down the other 3. Let's go meet him."
They make their way to Bruce, who was waiting for them. He nods at their work and then turns his attention to the terminal. "Let's see if Oracle was right. Data connection active... data decrypting... someone needs to upgrade their security protocols." The screen showed 5 people on it.
"Oracle, I've got the ID codes. If I reach a high vantage point, I can use the Batscanner to locate the workers." Oracle replies on the other end. "Okay, I've marked the tallest structure in the area on your map. Try not to fall."
Batman faces the others. "I'll be back. Wait here. "Very well." Dutch said. Batman turns around and starts grappling to the tallest part of the factory. Then the Knights voice appears on the speakers. "Listen up. Scarecrow tells me the reaction is nearly complete. Final evacuation of this facility will begin in T-minus 30 minutes." "Batman, we need to hurry." Arthur whispered.
Batman made it to the top of the facility. "This is perfect. I can release the Batscanner and search for the workers." Batman tosses the Batscanner and it starts orbiting the plant. "I've managed to intercept some radio traffic between Scarecrow and this Arkham Knight. Relaying it to you now." Oracle shows Bruce the militia broadcast. "I had him in my sights! I could've ended it right there!" The Knight angrily said. "We have not broken him yet. It will come." Crane spoke. "No, I've waited long enough. Batman dies. Tonight." The Knight says. "Why do you hate him so much." Scarecrow asks. "You could never understand." "Your revenge is at hand. This is his last night." "I'll make sure of it." The radio goes off. "Any idea who the Arkham Knight is?" Barbara asks. "Sounds like the two of you might have some history."
"I've made a lot of enemies." The Batscanner flies back into his hand and Bruce goes for the hostage next to the doors. The militia inside were talking but he wasn't paying attention. Bruce smashed through the window, taking one down, he punches another guy in the face and slams the 3rd into the floor. He punched a guy and sent him into an electric gene, frying him. He yanks the bat out of the last guy and hits him in the face. All militia were down but unfortunately the worker was deceased.
"Oracle, they've killed one of the worker's." "Dammit. We've gotta stop them. Listen, I managed to hack into the militia comms network. You'll be able to listen in on any channel wide broadcast from now on." She says. "Thanks, Oracle. I've managed to find a way to get the batmobile into the compound. They'll pay for this. All of them." Oracle hangs up allowing him to open the shutter doors. "Gates open, time to bring in the car."
"Main gates open. Get ready. You've got a billion dollar tank headed straight for you." Arkham Knight said. "We've deployed a diamondback to the main courtyard, sir. We'll crush him." The militia commander spoke. "Gotta love their optimism. Your 60-mm cannon will penetrate these heavily armored units, but it will take a few direct hits to destroy them." Oracle told Batman.
The batmobile raced into the facility and Batman hopped into his seat, and the car transforms into tank mode and begun firing. The tanks had odd blue lights with arrows in them coming out of the barrels and were firing back. Meanwhile Dutch and Arthur were watching. "Arthur, we should be able to help. Grab your gun, I'll grab mine, and let's aim for the lights." Arthur nods in agreement as he grabs his revolver. "Ready... fire!" Dutch yelled and the cowboys aimed for the weak spots on the drones. It took a few shots but Arthur managed to peirce the orange light of the Diamondback Drone, causing the top to go up in flames before it explodes. Batman takes care of the other Rattlers.
They took another latter down and the cockpit opens and they hop in. "You're late." Batman says. "Shut up." Arthur says. "One of the hostages are dead, let's get the next one." Batman said. The militia commander started speaking. "Sir, he punched through the armor, just like you said."
"He's searching for hostages. Keep all non-essential radio chatter to a minimum. He'll be listening. You are listening, aren't you Batman? Then listen to this. To all embedded units in Gotham. Operation Savior has begun. Each one of you has a role. Each one of you KNOWS your role. So move out into this damn city and lock it down. I want our hands wrapped tight around Gotham's throat within the hour. And to the Van Der Linde gang. I have Ms. Jackson and young Mr. Marston. Come and find me. I dare you. But Gotham's a big place. There's a whole army between us. I'm ready for all of you." Arkham Knight stops talking.
"Now that's a bigger problem." Arthur muttered. The car was still in tank mode, it fired the winch at an anchor attached to a metal door. Batman starts pulling it down and it opens up. They drive up, and go onto a rather big walkway above water, and advanced forward. There was a group of militia near a structure. The riot suppressor takes them down and they move towards the entrance which was a giant wall with an anchor on it.
The winch fires at it and starts pulling it down, surprising the militia inside. Once the wall is down. The riot suppressor takes down the armed men. The heroes exit the car. Climb over the tiny wall in front of them and run to the hostage, trapped in a room with a huge glass window. They walk in via a door on the side. "Thank God, you're here." The hostage said, before the glass ceiling broke apart and more armed militia with guns enter via ropes.
The Arkham Knight was there too. He had a blue mask, dark armor, and the Arkham symbol on his chest. "Hehehe. Keep your guns trained on them. If they even look like they're preparing for a fight, open fire. Oh and avoid he Batsymbol, that's where the armors strongest. I know what you're probably think boys. "Who is this guy?"
"No, we're just trying to figure out how to take you down." Batman said nonchalantly. The Knight continued talking, but Bruce secretly activated the batmobile tank and starts firing the riot suppressor at them. The Knight retreats, and a soldier is hit in the chest and blasted into the glass, shattering it, allowing them to deal with the militia. Batman throws a smoke pellet and starts taking them down.
Soon all soldiers were down. Dutch approached the hostage and untied him from the pipe. "You're alright, son."
"You don't know the half of it guys... Scarecrow, he was..." "Stay calm, and tell us what you know." Batman walked over to them. "They've been running the plant for hours. They brought in trucks, weapons, soldiers, shipments of hazardous material's. They knew exactly what they were doing." He explained. "He's producing his toxin on a massive scale." Batman said. "It's bad. real bad." The hostage continued. "We're talking about a gas cloud that could cover the entire eastern seaboard."
This was not good at all. "Where do we find Scarecrow?" Arthur asked. "I... I have no idea. All I know is he's moving ahead with his plans. And he's got a whole freakin' army backing him up. We're screwed guys." Mark finished.
"We'll stop him, but first we're getting you outta here. Wait by the batmobile." Batman instructs, and Mark runs for the car. Batman calls the commisioner.
"Have you found Scarecrow?" He asks. "Not yet. It's worse than I thought." Batman says to Gordon. "How much worse can it be?" He replies sarcastically. "He's building a bomb big enough to cover the entire east coast in fear toxin. Take your men and get out of here. Head to GCPD and lock it down. Keep everyone inside." Batman tells his old friend.
"I'll get my men off the streets, but I'm going nowhere. You guys bring anyone you find to me." Gordon says, refusing to retreat. "Jim, it's too dangerous." Bruce pushes him. "You'll stop him. I know you will." Gordon was going nowhere. The trio enters the car with the hostage in the back.
"Hold tight. We'll get you to Commissioner Gordon." The car slowly moves along the walkway before it drives down the ramp, back onto the main courtyard. Bruce activates the afterburner and sends them all flying back onto the bridge. The car pulls a U-turn, and Mark exits to Gordon. The road was turned into a makeshift ramp, and the car sped up and flew back into the facility. "We can use that ramp in order to access the rest of the factory. Stay here, I'll be back." Batman bursts out of the car and onto the control ramp where armed militia were waiting for him.
Bruce made short work of them, but then combat experts appear from nowhere with swords in their hands. Bruce takes them all down with only a small cut on his lower lip. He runs for the control panel and starts backing the ramp to the structure above the car. As soon as it was there, Batman glided back into the car. "Master Bruce, there are militia tanks all over the city. Gotham is overrun." Alfred starts speaking.
"If I don't stop Scarecrow's bomb, there'll be no city to save." Batman says. "And Ms. Gordon told me of your new allies and the fact that some of their friend's were kidnapped. Please be careful, sir." Alfred stops talking. "Airial Unit:C I want the payload primed and ready to drop. Their army won't be getting anywhere near this city." Arkham Knight instructs his men.
The heroes drive up the ramp back onto the upper deck, then Bruce hits the pedal and afterburner, and they make it to the other side of the compound. They advanced forward. Bruce uses the riot suppressor on a control switch, and the floor under them lowers. There were more drones this time with 2 Diamondbacks. They start fighting. And soon, all tanks were down. "All remaining units. Evacuation in T-minus 20 minutes." The bomb was almost ready.
"Sir, the tanks can barely touch Alpha Targets vehicle. Offensive capability way beyond expectation." The commander informed the leader. "He's been busy." The Knight mutters.
"We're close to the third worker. Stay here and don't touch anything." Batman hops out and grapples onto the roof of another control room, where more militia with a medic are waiting. "Bruce smashes onto that medic and proceeds to take out more. Soon, all militia were out cold.
Bruce goes over to a weak wall. After examining it a little, he grabs explosive gel and sprays it on, and presses the detonator. The wall explodes into pieces, allowing the hero to continue. But a broken pipe containing toxic chemicals was blocking his path. He uses the remote guidance system on the batmobile, causing it to move on its own. There is an anchor attached to the pipe outside, holding those chemicals. It enters battle mode and fires the winch and backs up until it breaks off, allowing Batman to pass.
He finds the third worker, deceased. "That's 2 dead workers now. I should've stopped this." He thought. His gauntlet started beeping. It was Oracle. "Batman, look, I've been talking with Robin. I really think you should consider letting them help you. You're up against an entire army!" Robin starts talking. "She's right. We're a team, and this city needs both of us." The screen switches to Tim Drake.
"I can handle it, Robin. I've told you what you have to do, now do it." "This can wait." Tim pleaded. "No, it can't. You know what's at stake. I need you to stay focused. Or things will get worse... much worse." Batman said. He hangs up, and Oracle starts talking in his cowl. "You shouldn't be so hard on Tim. He only wants to help."
"Don't let your feelings for him cloud your judgment. It's bad enough. I have 2 helpers with me on the field." Batman replied. "You think I want him out there in Harms way? I'd rather he stay out of it, but he could help you." Oracle tried to convince him. "If Robin can't save those people, the fallout will be every bit as dangerous as Scarecrow's bomb." Batman finishes.
He sees that the floor under him was weak, so he sprayed explosive gel and detonated it, allowing him to access the lower level. There was another chemical pipe. There was a control box next to him. He approached it and ripped the cover off along with two wires before connecting them together, causing the shutter to open, but there were steel bars, but that didn't stop him. He uses the remote guidance system on the batmobile and it fires the cannon at a weak wall next to him, revealing a pipe with an anchor on it, he uses the winch and pulls it off, breaking the connection.
He continued forward and found the 4th hostage also dead. "3 dead now. These animals are going to pay." He growled. "We'll stop them. We always do, right?" Oracle says.
Bruce found another power box, he rips the cover off and the wires too and connected them together, opening the shutter. Bruce activates the car and uses the gun to blast open the wall, revealing yet another anchor. This time, it was what controlled the elevator. He fired the winch at it and started backing up until the elevator was visible. But only have of it can be seen, cause that's as far as it can go.
Bruce runs for the batmobile, and the cockpit opens. "We can take the elevator down to the fifth hostage."What about the others?" Arthur asks as he exists the vehicle. "They're dead. These animals are going to pay." Batman said. They ran to the elevator. "So how does this work?" Dutch asked. Batman activated the batmobile and started lowering them.
"Shit! How are you doing that?!" Arthur gasped. They soon made it to the lower level. The door opened, and they heard militia conversation and the hostage begging. "Hey you, on your feet! This way, move!" A guard barked. "No, please!" Adam Brewer begged. Batman saw an open vent above them. "I'll take that vent, you 2 stay here, and don't make a noise."
Bruce grappled up. "Take your hands off me!" The hostage growled. "Or what?!" The militia taunted. They started beating him up. "You brought this on yourself, now take it like a man!"
"So here's what I don't get. This Arkham Knight guy shows up out of nowhere and assembles an army of this size. He must be richer than Bruce Wayne." The conversation was interrupted when Batman slammed onto a medic from the ceiling. He smashes a ninjas nose. and breaks a soldier's arm. He makes short work of the rest and approaches the hostage.
"It's okay, you're safe." He reassures him. " You're too late. We're both already dead. You know about the bomb he's building, right?" Adam was getting terrified about it. "Where is he?" Batman asks. "I heard 'em saying he was in the Central Mixing Chamber. Do you know what that means?"
"He's getting ready to release his toxin." Batman said. "I've seen what that stuff does to people. If that gas gets out there, it's gonna be chaos." Adam finished.
"I won't let that happen. I'm getting you out of here. Wait by the elevator." Bruce contacts Gordon. "Jim, I've rescued the second worker. I'm coming to you." "What about Scarecrow?" He asks. "He's in the Central Mixing Chamber. As soon as the technicians are safe, I'm going after him." Batman replies. "Is it as bad as it sounds?" Gordon asked nervously.
"Worse, Jim. But I'll stop him, you have my word." Bruce hangs up. "Hey, who are those 2?" Adam asks about Arthur and Dutch. "Arthur and Dutch, son. We are helping Batman." Dutch said. They all were un the elevator now.
"I hope you can find a way to stop fear toxin, cause when that gas gets out there, it's gonna be chaos. And this elevator is busted. We aren't getting out of here."
Batman secretly activated the car and started pulling the elevator up "How are you doing that?! Never mind I'm just happy to leave." Adam says. Shortly they reach the top and start climbing out when they heard a helicopter engine. The Knights gunship. Adam entered the back, while the heroes enter the front as Drones appear. "Sir, the Arkham Knight's gunship is unmanned." Alfred said. "Weapons lock deactivated."
"Come on then, hero! Let's see if you can keep up with me!" The chopper and tanks start firing. Batman fired shells at the drones, the Rattlers were destroyed, it took a few hits on the Diamondback, but now they were destroyed. The unmanned gunship starts laying waste on them, firing missiles left and right, but Bruce dogged them and shot back at the enemy.
Eventually, the Gunship couldn't take anymore and it caught on fire and crashed. "You haven't won! Tonight, you pay... FOR EVERYTHING!!!!!" The Knight yelled. Bruce drove over to the lifting machine and shot the switch, sending them up. Bruce drove and landed on the ground under them. They drove for the ramp and landed on the bridge, releasing Adam."Those 2 were lucky. Scarecrow's forces have murdered the other workers." Batman said.
"Bastards." Jim muttered. The cockpit opened. "You 2 need to leave, too. Get yourselves safe at the precinct." Batman said. "We are not going anywhere until we find out where that son of a butch took our friends! And good luck stopping us!" Dutch yelled. Batman wasn't ready for argument. "Fine." He said and closed the cockpit, then practically flew back into the facility. "Bruce, I thought you might like to know. There is only 1 way inside the compound, and it's been sealed from the inside." Oracle says apologetically. "What about the service tunnel?" Batman asks. "It runs behind the main wall of the facility. What are you going to do?" Oracle says.
"Improvise." Batman replies, the car enters battle mode and shoots the wall down, but getting inside was still an issue. Then Bruce noticed the ramp they used earlier. "I'll be back." He exits the vehicle and grapples up to the controller of the crane.
Shortly after, with the ramp in position. Bruce glides back to them and enters. "Hold on." He says as he fires the afterburner. And they enter the compound. There were 2 Diamondbacks waiting for them. Bruce destroys them. "Bruce, it turns out the lights are a weakness. They allow the drones to see. You can use the Vulcan gun to take them out even faster." Oracle says. "Thanks, Barbara." They continue down the driveway, then come across a blockade. "I'll open it." Bruce gets out and grapples to the top, and on the other side of the wall he notices 2 soldiers, and a sentry gun. He also noticed a vent that'll help him. He grapples over and enters it.
The militia were arguing if the batmobile was a car or a tank. He exits the vent behind them and takes out the sentry gun. Then he hits the soldier in the back of the head and breaks the other's jaw. His gauntlet suddenly started beeping, it was Gordon.
"Batman, we made it back to the precinct. God knows how. There are tanks everywhere, the bastards must've been planning this for weeks." He says. "Dig in and do what you can, Jim, as soon as I've stopped the explosion, I'm going after them." Batman replies. "We're all counting on you, Batman. We'll get through this, I know we will." Gordon hangs up. Batman sees an electric box, he runs over to it and does what he did to the others and the blockade in front of the car opens. He calls it and enters. "This is it! This is the final evacuation order! Anyone left behind will die painfully and afraid. So move it!" Arkham Knight said. Time was running out.
They drove faster but then come across another blockade. Batman jumped out and grappled to the top, this time he saw about 10 militia soldier's, and 2 medics. They were going through a briefing about the fear toxin cloud. Bruce noticed another electric box. He glided down, ripped the cover off and connected the wires together causing the gates to open, the militia notice this, and charge him. He calls the car and hops in, activating the riot suppressor and manages to take down most of them but 3 more hide in a small office.
The trio exit the car and run to the villains and start beating them up, soon all militia were down for the count. Now to get Scarecrow.
"I just ran a simulation based on the mixing chamber capacity. He's not bluffing, guys. I guess we now know why he evacuated the city." Barbara spoke. "He needed control of the plant. Only Ace Chemicals has the facilities to build a bomb of this size." Batman figured it out. "The fallout will be huge." Barbara said, her voice shaking a little. "We all played right into his hands. He didn't care if everyone ran." Dutch said. "He knew that no one would be able to escape the blast radius." Oracle said, the fear in her voice rising.
There was yet another gate. This time, there was no control or or power box. And the top of the gate had spikes on the edge, no way they could grapple. Batman would have to do this himself. "I have to do this myself. Don't worry, we'll find your friends." Batman ejected into the air above the gate, and he entered the Central Mixing Chamber. There was a large room with a shadow that represented Scarecrow inside. There were militia moving containers of chemicals over to the room, and there were 2 sentry guns covering the entrance.
"Gentlemen, tonight is the night that Gotham changes forever. Tonight is the night it becomes a wasteland of nightmares. A forsaken symbol of Batmans failure. A monument to fear. But more than that, we're about to turn Gotham into the epicenter of a blast that will transform the entire eastern coast of America into my domain." Scarecrow said over the speakers.
While he was talking, Batman had already eliminated 3 soldiers without alerting the others. There was a guard near a sentry gun. He was distracted by hauling the chemicals. Bruce hops down off the metal wire above the soldier as he is installing the container. The second he's finished, Batman covers his mouth and nose, blocking air passage until he stops moving and blacked out.
Bruce activates his detective mode and sees only 4 more enemies. "Need I remind you that we are on a tight schedule here. Gotham is going to pay for what its "Savior" did to me." Crane spoke, urging the bad guys to hurry up.
"Blast radius is at 23 miles and rising." The Ace computer spoke. Soon, all villains were down, and Bruce noticed the power box next to the gate. He approaches it, rips off the cover, and connects the wires together, causing the gate to open. The cockpit of the car opened. "Crane is in that room. Come on." Bruce urged them as they hopped out. "It appears that the flow of chemicals has stopped. Which can only mean that you are here, Batman. And the security system shows me that you've brought Mr. Van Der Linde and Mr. Morgan as well. I've been looking forward to seeing you again and getting the honor to meet your associates." Crane said. There was a set of stairs leading up to a door on the side, which no doubt led in.
"We're coming for you, Scarecrow." Dutch growled as they ran up the stairs to the door. The second they approached, it opened, allowing them to enter. Crane was definitely there.
"Do you all really think you've won?" He turns around to face them. He was more terrifying up close. His lips were literally the rags that were attached to his head, and he had a cast on his left leg. "Fear makes you all predictable. I am in complete control." He got onto his knees and put his hands behind his head like he's surrendering.
Dutch stomps up to him, grabs him by the throat, and slams his head into the control console. "Where are Tilly and Jack?! And how do we shut this goddamn thing down?!" He demanded. But all Crane did was chuckle.
"Let me go, or she dies." He gasped, prompting Batman to take over interrogation and lifted him off his feet. "What are you talking about?" He asked. "Barbara Gordon." Scarecrow chokes out. Bruce tosses him aside and activates his gauntlet, showing Oracle. "Have you found him?" She asks. "Get out of there, now!" Dutch demanded, walking up to Bruce.
"Relax, Mr. Van Der Linde. No one knows I'm here..." The screen is filled with static. "Uh, guys..." Arthur says. They both turn to find Crane on the other side of the door. "We can't let him get away!" Arthur shouted as he and the others charged at him, but then the door blocked their path. They tried to break it down, but it held firm. "Nothing hurts like losing some of the family, knowing that there is no one to blame but yourselves." Crane turned around and walked away, leaving the heroes trapped.
"Alfred." Bruce contacts his butler. "I heard what that maniac said to you all, sir. I've been trying to contact Miss Gordon, and I've been trying to track the hostages from the Van Der Linde gang. Unfortunately, with no success." He replies. Arthur and Dutch were trying to break the door down, but then they all smelled smoke and realized that the facility was primed to blow any time. "Keep trying!" Bruce begs.
He turned his attention to the damaged control console, he walked over to it, and began typing something in. "Preparing neutralizing agent." The Ace computer said.
"What are you doing?! It's too late you can't stop it!" Alfred said. "I know. I'm not trying to stop it, but we can reduce the blast radius." Bruce replied back. "And what will happen to you and Mr. Morgan and Mr. Van Der Linde?" Alfrsd asks. "Don't worry about us, find her, Alfred!" Bruce growls back.
"Neutralizing agent deployed." 4 containers rose from the floor at the edge of the room. "Help me get these canisters into those outlets." Batman said. Arthur and Dutch shared a look but then ran to help their ally.
"These canisters are highly volatile. We're going to have to very slowly, be very careful." Bruce warned them. He presses a button, and the socket releases the canister. Suddenly, a piece of debris falls from the ceiling, hitting Dutch in the head, causing him to black out. "Dutch!" Arthur shouted. But Batman grabbed his shoulder, reminding him to focus on their current task. "Where is she, Alfred?" Bruce asks as he got the container out and started moving to the outlets across the room.
"I have no idea." Alfred replies sadly. "It's my fault they took her, and Tilly and Jack." Bruce blamed himself. "Miss Gordon was aware of the risks, Master Bruce. She'll be as angry as you are that she's allowed this to happen. And it's the militias fault that Ms. Jackson and Mr. Marston are captured." Alfred tries to reassure him. Arthur slowly got his canister out and slowly moved across the room to the destination. Once at the location, he slowly lowers it in without blowing them up. Soon, he got it fully in, and the neutralizing formula traveled through pipes, then entering the giant container of fear toxin, turning it green. "Neutralizing agent deployed, blast radius decreased by 25%, Now decreasing by 50%."
Then Arthur felt something hit his head, his vision started to blacken, and before he knew it, he was out cold. Bruce was forced to continue on his own. "I'm monitoring that facility. You're all out of time. I'm begging you. Leave now." Alfred begged. "It's what you taught me. Do the right thing. That's all that matters." Bruce countered. "Master Bruce, I implore you, you must get out of there! If this is about Ms. Gordon, you can not blame yourself for what's happened. Save yourselves before it's too late!" Alfred demands.
"Goodbye, Alfred." Bruce replies, and the comms turn off. He gets the third tube in. "Neutralizing agent deployed. Blast radius increased by 1000% 1000% 1000% 1000%." The Ace computer goes offline. Bruce manages to pull the last container out, but when he turns around. He sees the face he thought he'd never see again. Joker!
"Miss me?" He asks. He had a gun aimed at Batman's head and pulled the trigger.
Author's note: Damn, I once again made a very long chapter. I'm sorry if you didn't like it. But I will continue to try to make this a good story. Laters!
