Author's note: I hope you enjoyed the last chapter cause it's time for chapter 7.Flashback.

A helicopter landed on top of Pannessa Studios. Gordon exited and watched the chopper fly away. He walked down the stairs and over to the doors, which were covered by a red metal gate.

"Great, how the hell am I supposed to get in?" He says aloud. "Voice pattern analyzed. Identification confirmed. Welcome, Commissioner Gordon." The Batcomputure says as the bars are raised, allowing access.

"Unbelievable." He mutters as he enters, he sees a big red button on the side of an elevator. He presses it, and the entrance closes as the elevator lowers down to another level.

As it stops and the entrance is open again. Gordon walks out into a bigger room with cells and a big computer in the middle of the dark room. "What the hell is this place?" He mutters. He approached one cell and pressed a button, causing the fog inside to dissipate, showing an old man. "Commissioner! Thank God! You have to get me out of here. They've locked me up, running tests like I'm some guinea pig! There's nothing wrong with me!" Gordon ignores him and moves to the other cells.

He pressed the buttons on them, causing the fog to disappear. Other people started threatening him, but he ignored them. He turned around but came face to face with Batman, startling him a little. "Batman?" He asks. "I'm glad you came, Jim. You need to see this." Batman showed him around the room.

"What is this place? Who are these people?" The old man asked. "Before it killed him: Joker sent his infected blood out to all the hospitals in the state." Batman said. "I know. We tracked it all down." Gordon counters.

"We missed some." Batman said matter of factly. "How?" Gordon asks. "Hospital errors. Transfusions that went unrecorded. 5 people were affected. The bloods gestated too long. It's altering them. They're becoming -" "Joker." Gordon finishes. "My god."

"It's a form of creutzfeldt-jakob disease. But mutated beyond anything on medical record." Bruce explained. "What about that one? He doesn't look like the others." They turn their attention to the old man. "Henry Adams. He's been infected the longest, but he's symptomless... immune to Joker's blood. I've got Robin running tests to find out why. One thing's for certain: Henry is the key to all this." Batman finished.

"I've co-operated. I've done everything you asked. You said it would only take a few days!" Henry yelled. "You can't hold him here against his will." Gordon said. "We're close, Jim. We can't let him go until we save the others." Batman argued. "Wait, you said 5, I only count 4. There's one missing. They look at the empty cell. "He'll be here soon." Batman mutters.

End of Flashback.

Present day.

"Bruuuuuuce. Bruuuuuuuuuuuce. Can you hear me, Bruce?" The Joker asked. Above him, Arthur and Dutch were trying to wake up Batman. They didn't see the hallucination. "Batman, can you hear us? Wake up!" They urged.

Batman slowly started to get up, much to their relief. The Joker hallucination kept talking. "Ohh, don't act all surprised, Bats. You knew this was going to happen sooner or later. Me stuck deep inside you. Together, yes, even with the Van Der Linde lot, we're going to give this city what it deserves: a new Batman. A better Batman. A darker, more-ooh well, we can come back to this later. First, we all need to agree on some priorities. Sure, you've all saved the city by reducing the blast. But Ace Chemicals is still about to explode. You all should really start looking after yourselves. After all, bats. You're brooding for 2 now."

Batman looked out the window and saw the car. He activated the remote guidance system. and the car came to life. It entered tank mode and fired the winch into the glass, and started pulling back. Soon, the wall broke down, allowing the heroes to get into the batmobile. "Oh, bats, I've missed you. All the subtly and nuance of a napalm-emena." The clown said. The trio entered the car. The Batmobile started racing throughout the way they took to get inside. "Warning: Explosion imminent." The Ace computer said. Soon, they were outside again. Fires erupted all around them. Bruce kicked on the afterburner, and they flew onto the bridge before being engulfed in an explosion. The Batmobile charged forward, outrunnning the collapsing bridge.

They come to a stop, and everyone gets out of the car and watched in shock and relief that they made it out, as the facility collapsed in upon itself. Bruce taps his gauntlet. "Alfred?" He gasps."Oh, thank God. When the explosion... I thought you all might be..." Alfred looked like he was on the verge of freaking out. "It's okay. We managed to reduce the blast radius and prevented the toxin from spreading into the city." Batman said. "But what about Scarecrow or this Arkham Knight character? They've got tanks, missiles. Their forces are all over Gotham!" Alfred questioned. "Crane got away... I was exposed to his toxin. But some debris hit Dutch and Arthur, knocking them out. I don't think they were exposed." Bruce said.

"Good lord, are you okay? Remember what happened at the asylum?" Alfred asks. "It's okay. I had a bad reaction... but it's over now." Bruce reassures the butler, but then his face is replaced with Joker's. "I've really got to hand it to Scarecrow. Well, I've never been a fan of his concoctions up till now, but this batch. It's intoxicating. It really brings out the me in you." Joker started laughing, then Alfred replaces his face again. "Sir? Did you hear what I said? Commisioner Gordon has been trying to contact you." Alfred tells them. "Thanks, Alfred." He switched the screen to the police commisioner. "Jim." Batman starts.

"You all got out. See, I said you wouldn't let me down." He said. "We need to speak to you." Batman says. "Sure, what is it?" "Meet us outside GCPD prisoner detention. We're on our way there now." Gordon vanishes. "We need to go, now." Dutch said, and the trio entered the car and drove down the bridge.

"Alfred, analyze the militia forces. Troop deployments, movement. We wanna know what exactly we're going up against." Batman instructs Alfred. "I'll perform a full breakdown on the occupied forces and strengths in each zone. Good luck, gentlemen." Alfred says. There was a Rattler drone patrolling near the precinct. The car entered tank mode and fired its machine gun at the sensor array. The tanks top caught on fire and blew up.

They drove into the precinct and down the ramps, and Gordon was near a police cruiser. They hop out and walk to the man. "I gotta go, Batman's here." He puts his radio away. "What's wrong?"

"Jim." Batman said apologetically. "Come on, you're scaring me." Gordon takes off his glasses. "It's Barbara. She was taken." Arthur said. "No, no, no. I spoke to her. She said she got out. She left hours ago." Gordon spoke quickly and frantically. "Stay calm. We'll get her back." Batman attempts to reassure him. "Which one?! Who's got my little girl?!" He demanded. "Scarecrow. They took her from the clocktower." Batman said. "Alright. We need to go. There could be a clue, something that will lead us to her." Gordon urges. "We'll follow, stay in contact." They all rush to their vehicles with Gordon driving ahead and the heroes following suite.

"Stay calm, Jim." Batman says. "Why did I let this happen?!" Jim said back. "There's no way you or any of us could've predicted this, Mr. Gordon." Dutch tried to calm him too. "It's my job to predict it as a cop and a father. The whole thing's gone down on my watch." Suddenly, two armored units started chasing them. "Up ahead, we got company. Who are they?" Gordon asks through the radio. "Militia, don't worry, Jim. I've got them." Batman started chasing the enemies.

"Pursuing forces, This is Arkham Knight. Your priority is to apprehend the Commissioner. I say again, I want him alive. Let nothing stand in your way!" Arkham Knight ordered. Batman fired immobilizer's at the cars until they were done for. "It's too dangerous, Jim. Get in the Batmobile. I'll escort us to the clocktower."

Gordon's car parked, and Batman's vehicle stopped next to it as the back opened up. "Just get us there in one piece, Batman. We're running out of time." Gordon says. Alfred's projection came on the dashboard. "Sir, before you boys head to the clocktower. I thought you might like to hear the analysis of the Arkham Knight's forces." He said. "Please, give us what you got." Arthur said, so Alfred started explaining away. "I've sent the Batwing to scan across the city and give news about the forces and the occupations strength in each zone." The screen switched to Miagani Island. "As you all can see, Miagani Island is heavily occupied. With a substantial drone ground-force controlling the roads." The screen switches to Founder's Island. "Founder's Island is the militias stronghold. Protected by 2 radar towers and a long-range missile launcher. I'd recommend keeping the Batmobile away from there for the time being, I'm lucky to have deployed thebatwingout of their range."

The screen returned to Bleake Island. "The remaining drone forces on Bleake Island have been redeployed to protect the clocktower." The screen switched back to Alfred. "Thanks, Alfred. We are on our way to the clocktower now." They started driving towards the building. There were 12 drones guarding the place. The car entered tank mode and waged war against the enemies. Most of them had already fallen. "I only see 5 drones online." Arkham Knight said. "He's using high caliber rounds. Titanium tipped? Maybe tungsten carbine. Whatever it is. It's ripping us to shreds." The militia commander informed his employer. Soon, all drones were gone. "Guys, there's militia all over the clocktower. Stay here." Batman said

"I'm not just sitting here while you go after those bastards!" Gordon argued. "Yes, you are, Jim. Barbara wouldn't want you to get yourself killed. I'll let you all know the minute it's safe to head inside." Batman said. "The second." Jim growled. Batman got out and grappled up to a vantage point on the tower. Militia were everywhere. He didn't listen to their conversations and started taking them down. 1 by 1, they fell until no one was left.

"Guys, the militia are down. It's safe to head inside." Bruce grapples up to the top entrance while the others exited the car. Bruce presses a button on his gauntlet, and the shingles under him open up, granting access. He hops in but falls into a hallucination.A non-crippled Barbara Gordon was sitting in a chair, reading a newspaper, when there was a ring at the door. "Colline? Is that you again?" She made her way over to the door, but when she opened it, she came face-to-face with a younger Joker. "Candy Graham!" Barbara runs, but Joker pulls out a massive revolver and shoots her in the spine. She falls onto the glass table, shattering it. Joker approaches her with a camera.

"Oh, don't pass out yet. Come on! Show a little spine." He starts taking pictures. "Hehehehe, just wait till your father gets home! He's going to be furious about all this mess." The clown leaves. Batman watches in sadness at Barbara's helpless form, bleeding out onto the carpet. He looked at the door, but it had changed into a wall with words written in pink paint saying. "This is what happens when you drag your friends into this crazy little game of ours." Batman looked back to Barbara, but the scene was replaced with the clocktower. He turned back to the wall, but it was replaced with the elevator. "Nothing like a little trip down ol' memory lane eh, bats." And now a front row seat to the main event!" Joker said. "And you also got some new allies to help you tonight. Wonderful thinking, bats. Really, cause now you need to worry about them ending up like Barbara or even killed."

Joker stopped talking. Batman noticed Oracles wheelchair. He picked it up and heard the elevator gate opening. "Oh God, no." Gordon put his Colt Python away. He was accompanied by Arthur and Dutch. Glass cracks under Jim's foot. He looks down and finds a damaged picture of him and his daughter. He picks it up. "It's not your fault, Jim." Batman said.

"Of course it is. Crane's done this to get to me. I should've been here."

"There's something I need to show you." Bruce said. "We haven't got time. She's not like us!" Gordon said, but Batman ignored him. He pushed the head statue back, and it scanned him. "IDENTITY CONFIRMED." The Batcomputure spoke as the room became a control center.

Arthur and Dutch stood in shock, and so did Jim. "She's strong, Jim. Stronger than you realize." Batman said from behind them. Gordon turns to face him. "She works for you?" He asks, then gets angry. "This is all your fault!" He growled. "We will find her." Batman said. Unable to hold his rage back, Jim turns around and punches Batman in the face, leaving a bruise and Arthur and Dutch flinch at it.

"She's my family! MY DAUGHTER! She's all I've got." Gordon marches towards the elevator. "I never should've trusted you. And I know not to trust your new accomplices. Never!" Jim takes out a device and throws it at Batman, the screen cracking from contact with the floor. "I'll do this on my own. And let this serve as a message to you two. The second this night is over, I want you out of Gotham, you and your friends. Stay away from my family." Gordon slams the bars closed, and the elevator goes down as Batman reached down and picked up the device. "What are we gonna do now?" Arthue asked Dutch. "We are still helping Batman, Ms Tilly, and the boy are somewhere in this hell-hole. Whether Mr. Gordon likes it or not." Dutch replied. Batman walked over to the computer. "We need to find out what happened to Barbara." He said. "Are there gonna be any problems?" Dutch asked. "Yes, they covered their tracks by disabling the clocktower security systems. But maybe the CCTV camera feed from the surrounding area can help us." Batman replied, and they began their search.

"Hey, that's the entrance we took. Maybe the kidnappers used it." Dutch pointed at a screen on the top left corner. "Hey, that went quite well, considering. Well, I would've told Gordon, but that's why it's so liberating being me." Joker said. Bruce went to the screen Dutch spoke about, zoomed in on it, and started fast forwarding until they saw red military vehicles and militia step out as 2 thugs ran away. Then, the Knight exited the building with Oracle over his shoulder.

"That son of a bitch has her and our friends." Arthur growled. They watched the Knight enter an armored car, and before they drove off, Bruce scanned it. "There, that's the vehicle they took Barbara away in." The screen switches to the cars wheels. "Those tires are Amertek D-60's. I can program the Batmobile to track their unique tread pattern."

"Then let's go. Their lives depend on it." Dutch said, so they all ran to the elevator, waited for it to come up. Then, they entered and went down until they were on the ground floor. They exited and ran to the door, and once they were outside, they ran to the car. Ready to find their friends.

Author's note: Yeah, I guess these chapters are going to be long, but now it's time for our heroes to find their friend's, and yes I made that last part of the chapter an AU. I will keep working on this story. And please leave comments on what you think so far.

And please point out any mistakes. Thank you!
