Chapter 22 A Coming-Out
The big Silver breakup had gotten around to the Sanders house. When Toni and Sammy were having their lunch break, Stevie came over to them.
„He guys. I heard you had an interesting weekend in Palm Springs?"
„Oh yes. What do you know about that Stevie?" Sammy was getting annoyed with him again.
„Only that David is leaving Donna for Valerie."
„That´s right." Toni shrugged. „And that our aunts are a couple."
Stevie´s eyes widened. „Erica and Erin?"
„Yes. That´s what they told us."
„Craziness. Two hot babes like Erica McKay and Erin Silver?" Stevie clenched his fist.
Toni and Sammy just shook their heads.
Then Stevie changed his mind. „Do you know how Ruby is doing? I mean with her new stepmother?"
„Apperently quite well. She gets along with Val. And as we understand it, uncle David is planning a move to Val in New York with Ruby." Sammy looked a little sad.
Sammy and Nath may not have liked their cousin that much, but it was sad that she suddenly left.
„Anyway, aunt Erica is coming to see us this afternoon." Toni was happy.
„And I´m glad I can finally read Mom´s diary. I didn´t get a chance in Palm Springs. I would also like to finally finish it."
Stevie scratched his head a little uncertainly. „Toni, could I talk to you alone for a moment?"
„Sure." Toni got up and walked a few meters with Stevie.
„I´m sorry I was so intrusive when you were with me. I did not mean it like that."
„It´s been so long Stevie."
„I know. But we´ve never talked about it."
„It´s okay." Toni patted his arm.
„Friends?" Stevie asked cautiously.
„Friends." Toni nodded.
They went back to the group.
„I would like to invite you all to a garden party at my place."
„Really? We all?"
„Yes, the whole group. Dad is getting the pool ready."
„Thanks Stevie." Toni kissed his cheek.
Dylan and Erica were sitting on the patio in the garden.
„So, you´re more into pussies than cocks now?" Dylan couldn´t help but laugh.
„Just on a pussy. And it´s really good." Erica winked at him.
Dylan shook himself. But Erica punched him in the side.
„Dylan, you slep with so many women. Didn´t you have a threesome too?"
„I have to disappoint you there." Dylan put his glass down. „I have limits in bed. I never share a woman."

„And now again from the beginning. It started at the barbecue with Erin."
„Yes. As soon as she came home I thought she was cute. We talked the whole evening. Until the thing with David was then. She immediately noticed that something was wrong with me. We had a date the next day. And then it really started. It was strange for both of us at first. But it was great. It is great."
„Hi auntie Erica." The kids came into the garden and greeted her.
They found it exciting that Erica was dating Erin. And Toni wanted to know one thing in particular."
„Stevie really wanted to know how it works with women…" Toni looked shyly at the floor.
„You mean sex?" Erica spoke frankly.
„Yes." Toni whispered.
Dylan blushed.
„That´s quite easy. A woman does not have a penis. She uses her fingers to penetrate the vagina."

„No, it´s wonderful. You feel your partner and you are very close to him. And if you love that person, then you both like it. You both want to enjoy it."
Kyle and Toni nodded. Sheila just made a face. „I guess I´ll never grow up." She ran back into the house.
„Was I too verbose?" Erica looked at her brother with concern.
„Why? It´s all natural. The kids should be informed how it works in life. How Babies are made or how it is between man and woman or woman and woman. Good eduation is everything. I think you should learn something like this from parents or adults and not from the internet."
„So true." Erica took a sip of Coke. „The kids shouldn´t grow up like you."
„For god´s sake no." Dylan shook his head.
„You had a different childhood than Dad, didn´t you? You guys didn´t grow up together." Kyle asked.
„Unfortunately, no. I grew up with my mother."
„I don´t think the kids know your story yet." Dylan looked at his sister.
„No? Haven´t I told you that before? Then sit down." Erica took Kyle on her lap and Toni went to her father.
„Tell aunt Erica." The siblings said in unison.
And Erica started talking. About growing up in a trailer park in Iowa with her Mom, Suzanne. After a flood they wanted to look for relatives. Suzanne was rummaging through old family photos and found the photo of her and Jack. Thanks to a lot of research, Suzanne found out that Jack has a son. And when Erica was twelve years old, they decided to find Erica´s father´s son. Erica was very excited and wanted to meet her brother. And as they stood on Dylan´s front door and Erica looked into Dylan´s eyes, both, Erica and Dylan, felt there was something there. A connection. What Erica didn´t know, however, was that her mother only tracked Dylan down because Suzanne knew Jack McKay had left his son a large fortune. And that´s what Suzanne dying to steal.
„And when did you hear about it?" The children looked at her with wide eyes.
„When Suzanne, Kevin and I were at the airport. I wasn´t allowed to say goodbye to Dylan. And then we were on the plane and I thought I´d never see Dylan again."
„And then?"
„Then Dylan found us with the help of his detective and he, Val and Jonsey brought me back."
„An exciting story. Dad, you are a real hero."
Dylan grinned mischievously.
„What happened to your mother?"
„She´s in jail in Mexico. Probably still. No idea. I haven´t heard from her since." Erica shrugged.
„How was she as a mother?"
„She has always been very loving to me. I may have grown up in a trailer park, but I had a good childhood."
„And now you´re a McKay." Dylan looked at her proudly.
„Now I am a McKay."
Her phone rang. Dylan read the word `Moon Pie` along with Erin´s face.
„Moon Pie?"
„Yes." Erica smiled. „Because she´s cute as a moon pie."
„And what does she call you?"
„Sky. Because she feels like she´s in sky with me."
Dylan drank his coke and shook his head. Girls, Girls, Girls.
Erica got up and answered the phone.
Toni took the opportunity. „Dad, will Aunt Erica and Erin get married and have kids?"
„You´d best aks her that yourself."
Toni heard Erica hang up.
„Erin is done. She helped David with some boxes."
„Aunt Erica, are you going to get married and have a kid?" Toni asked hopefully.
Erica looked at Toni sympathetically. „We do not know that, yet. But probably not." She bent down to her niece. „Erin and I are so glad we have you, Kyle, Sheila, Sammy, Nath and Ruby. We are so happy to be aunts for you. But kids will not be an option for us."
Toni shrugged and nodded.
While his parents and aunt were with David, Sammy was able to read again in his mom´s diary.
10. September, 1997
Dear Diary,
Brandon and I moved in together. And I start to make the house more beautiful. Brandon received a rejection from the „L.A. Times"…his dream job. He was pretty disappointed. He´s been writing applications for so long. But the only job offers were far away. I tried to cheer him up. I also cleaned up the closet drawers. I discovered old photos of Brandon with Tracy. I asked Brandon why he still had the things. He must have forgotten this. Since we were both unfamiliar with this situation we decided to go on vacation together. The others from the group love the thought. We chose Hawaii. I said goodbye to Brandon to start my internship at a clinic, the Wyatt-clinic for family care. But I forgot something in the kitchen and caught Brandon pulling Tracy´s photo out of the trash can. I was pretty mad at him. Later I went shopping with Donna. We caught Valerie trying to sell perfume. After that we bought birth control pills for Donna. We were spotted by Felice. In the afternoon Brandon and I had another little fight. I couldn´t forgive him for still having Tracy´s photos. Sowe decided to go on vacation separately. I wanted to prepare for my job at the foundation. At the farewell, Brandon was sad and so was I. I was kind of sorry for everything.. We said we loved each other and then Brandon left. And I cried. Donna called me one day later from Hawaii because she was worried about me. Finally I took my baggage and flew to them. But, surprised, I met Brandon with Tracy in a heartly hug. And I was jealous. Brandon clears them up, Tracy was there with her fiancé and I was embarrassed. In our hotelroom we make up and talk. I apologized to Tracy the next morning. At our last night we celebrated my birthdy and I met Noah. It was a wonderful evening. But back at the Beverly Hills airport Brandon´s tire was punctured. We hear a noise. A stranger watched us. Luckily he drove soon away but then he came back and shoot me down.

Dear Diary,
I got a shot in my stomach. When I woke up I saw Brandon next to me. He must have been there all night. Later, Mom, an officer, Brandon and Noah were there. Later came Steve and Valerie. Donna came a little later and brought me something to read. She told me about her problems with her mother and David. Brandon recognized the perpetrator when the police confronted him. During the night my health deteriorated. I had a pulmonary embolism. I came to the intensive care unit. Brandon didn´t leave my side. The worst part was, I woke up and I didn´t recognize him.

Dear Diary,
My doctor said I should write everything out of my life down. I am Kelly, twenty-two years old. Brandon gave me my engagement ring as a reminder. Brandon tried everything to make me remember. But I had no memory of him. Noah visited me. He had donated his blood to me. He showed up the next day with flowers and some food and music. He was so sweet. I asked him to bring Winston to me…"
Sammy shook his head. Who the hell was Noah…? Again a new boyfriend for his mother? And what was with his Dad? Had his Mom completely lost her mind?
„…Brandon has a job offer in Seattle. I asked him to show me photos. Valerie brought me some books and told me about our past. I asked Valerie about Noah. Flipping through books surprised me Noah with Winston. But I wanted out of the hospital room. Noah drove me to the beach. It was wonderful. He told me about my beach life with Donna and Clare. And I remembered. Also to the apartment. Brandon was waiting for me back.I just didn´t remember him. Late at night Brandon came by and told me he wasn´t going to Seattle. I took off the necklace with the engagement ring and put it in the drawer with Noah´s photo.

I came back home. Jackie took me to the apartment. Brandon was there. Donna too. Steve came with flowers. Donna was there for me a lot. I tried desperately to remember everything. I asked Noah for a walk. I liked Noah. He was cute. We talked a lot about Brandon. Later I drove to Brandon´s. I wated to know more about us. Brandon showed me to our room. He tried so hard. But I didn´t remember. I was so sad about that. In the middle of the night I couldn´t stand it and called Brandon. I told him that I know he was always by my side. Donna and David had prepared a romantic dinner for me and Brandon. We could talk a lot. Then we got up and danced. I felt so safe with him. The next morning I received the first issue of Beverly Beat. Brandon´s and Steve´s newspaper. As I looked at Brandon´s photo, the memory finally came back. Brandon was the love of my life. I went to the Beverly Beat and asked brandon to put the necklace on me. We kissed again.

Brandon was still plagued by those nightmares. I finally wanted to identify the culprit so we could end the topic. Noah invited me to the boat trip. I was afraid oft he confrontation. In the evening Brandon and I went out to eat. Brandon gave me hope for a fresh start. But I didn´t recognize the perpetrator from the police. Brandon was disappointed. Weh ad a little argument. At night in bed i was desperate. Brandon comforted me.

Dear Diary,
I went back to work today. In South Central. I tried to live my life. But Brandon was annoying because oft he perpetrator. I looked forward to my work again. That eventing Brandon and I made up again. But Brandon could only think of the culprit. He slept on the sofa. We wanted to go to the cinema. After the movie I stumbled. An unknown man caught me. Brandon was immediately aggressive. He couldn´t handle it. Later, Brandon got a call. They have found the real culprit. He was shot. Brandon was glad. And he apologized to me for his behavior. He told me he loves me.

The next night Brandon cooked for us. The meal was delicious. And the dessert was even better. We made love at the dining table. It was wonderful. Steve was the next morning shocked by the chaos. Then we started sex talk on the phone. It was amazing. A day later we met at the hotel. We liked the game.

Today we made a startling discovery. We saw Erica. She was a prostitute.."
„What?" Sammy was shocked. Erica McKay was a prostitute? She sleep with strange men for money? Did know Toni about that? About her own aunt? He would use the next best opportunity and ask her.
„... She fled from us. Through an acquaintance we were able to locate her and bring her home. But Erica was very aggressive. But it seemed she immediately had a good connection to Valerie. Unfortunately we had to leave Erica alone. She used the time to rob us.

Dear Diary,
I blame myself for leaving Erica alone. I´m going to look for her with Donna. But the police were quicker. I´m trying to get Erica out through the Wyatt foundation. An organization which cares about kids and teenie. It helped. We helped Erica get her clothes from her apartment. She also gave us back valuables she had stolen. In „Beverly Beat" Brandon offered to write an article about her. For now she stayed with us. But the prosecutor showed up the next day. They wanted to press charges against Erica´s pimp. But Erica is still too scared of him. Then she fled again. We found her in her old room. Her roommate was beaten up by the pimp. Erica finally realized that her pimp was treating her badly.

Brandon spoke to Dylan in London today. He would be willing to take Erica with him. Then the police came and took Brandon away because he refused to betray Erica. Meanwhile, Kelly went to a gynecologist with Erica. In doing so, I met Doctor Gary Monahan. He offered me the job as a temporary worker in a social clinic. Brandon, however, only wanted to put the pimp in jail. Erica already had an idea. Together with the police we wanted to set a trap for her pimp. Andi t worked. Her pimp was arrested. We were so happy. The next day her flight to London was supposed to be with Dylan. He and Brenda wanted to take care of Erica.

Sammy couldn´t still believe it. Erica worked for a pimp. It seemed she and Dylan had really a similar childhood. They were too young and alone. And nobody cared for their. His uncle told always that Brendas was his soulmate. But after that reading Sammy thought Erica was his soulmate too.

I read an article about Emma Bennet today. I find her work and her writing great. Brandon also found them interesting. I told Brandon about my new job in the Wyatt-Clinic. And my new boss, Dr. Gary Monahan. He was very nice to me. Brandon was glad for me. And he told me he could hire Emma Bennet to write for the „Beverly Beat". After the day in the clinic I was pretty exhausted. Dr. Monahan asked to give me a massage. I liked it at first but then it got too pushy. The next day asked me to watching him at a treatment. That got me thinking. Had I just imagined his touch? Brandon told me about Emma at home. How special she was. I offered to invite her to our home. The next day in the Wyatt-Clinic it was normally. But Dr. Monahan made such strange remarks. I asked Brandon about Emma. But he ust said they didn´t have time. I just wanted to take a shower. The telephone rang. Brandon said someone dialed the wrong number.

Dear Diary,
I read Emma´s new article. He was great. Suddenly we heard wild moans from Valerie´s room. But we didn´t bother about it. I really wanted to meet Emma. Then Donna was at the door. She needed a model for her new job. She asked me for this job. I asked Dr. Monahan if I could get the afternoon off. But instead he answered me he suddenly started talking about his failed marriage. I was uncomfortable. In the afternoon at the „Beverly Beat" I meet Emma. She was very impressed. I wanted to go out do dinner with Brandon but he had too much work to do. Then I went to Donna´s modelling job. I still had some time so I called Brandon. But he had gone to eat something. I was disappointed. The next morning, Brandon brought me breakfast in bed. It got pretty late for bot hof us yesterday. But i wanted to know why Brandon hadn´t called me. Brandon placated me and invited me to Steve´s comedy show that night. In the Wyatt-Clinic discovered Dr. Monahan my model photos and started his hints again. I told Brandon about it in After Dark. Brandon told me I should definitely report it. But I still had my doubts. Then we discovered Emma and I invited her to our table. We had a great evening. At the Wyatt-Clinic, I immediately went to Dr. Monahan and told him to stop bothering her. But he just blamed me and fired me. In bed I told Brandon about the sacking. I was kinda glad about that. Then the phone rang again. Apparently someone had dialed the wrong number again.

Dear Diary,
Emma advised me to report the incident. I did too. I had invited Emma to dinner. We got along great. In the Wyatt-Clinic were preparations for a charity evening for Dr. Monahan. Then Christmas Eve was. There were many presents under the tree. I was too curious. Brandon apologized for being away for so long. The next night it was time…the charity night in honor of the Wyatt-Clinic. Brandon accompanied me. I should give a speech. I debated whether to embarrass him or not. I did not do it. Later, Dr. Monahan introduced me to the clinic founder. Thenhe led me into a room and kissed me. I ran out and told Brandon. I just wanted to go home. I explained the incident to the hospital organizer. But the woman makes it clear to me that I have no chance against a respected doctor as a young professional. I didn´t think it was fair. In the evening we could finally all celebrate Christmas comfortably. But I wasn´t in the mood to celebrate. I was so glad when Brandon was home. In bed I was allowed to open a package from Brandon. It was a man´s watch. I was so happy.

Dear Diary,
Brandon and I went to the Peach Pit tonight. Emma came over. She immediately noticed my new watch. The next day at the clinic, Dr. Monahan straight to his office. He was mad because I went to Audrey Cutler and complained. I better watch what I say. I wanted to talk to him again later, but suddenly I disvorvered him and my successor. He took me to his office and informed me that I had been fired without notice. Later, when Emma was with us and we cooked together, I told her about the events in the clinic. She asked me about the clock again. Then Brandon came and we changed the room. Suddenly we heard a scream from the kitchen. Emma had droppend the watch in a pot of hot water. Was kind of weird. Emma want to replace the watch. But Brandon didn´t know where he bought the next day I wanted to get my things from the Wyatt-Clinic and ask Dr. Monahan goodbye. Also this time he left no doubt that I would have progressed if I had been a little nicer to a clever distraction, I managed to get both, Audrey Cutler and Brandon, to hear his confession. He shouldn´t get away with it. And it worked. Audrey Cutler overheard everything and Dr. Monahan was fired immediately.

Dear Diary,
After my firing from the clinic I got a new job as a listening lady at the „Beverly Beat". Women with problems write to me and want advice from me. My advice was so well received by the readers that Brandon offered me to write a column about relationship problems. I did too. When I was done, Brandon really wanted to explain something to me. But the phone kept ringing. I answered and overheard Emma was on the phone and Steve was talking to her. Did the two have a affair? But wasn´t he with Carly? The Emma column that I found so fascinating was about her personally. I was stunned. It wasn´t Steve´s way at all. Later on in the „Beverly Beat" I confronted Steve about it. But since we didn´t want to hurt Carly, I promised not to tell her. Then I went to Emma to confront her. She eplained to me that she hadn´t slept with Steve but with Brandon. When Brandon got home I just played the tape to him. I had tears in my eyes. I never wold have thought that of Brandon. I told him I was moving back to Donna at the beach apartment and left our house.

Sammy slapped the book. That couldn´t be true. His Dad cheated on his Mom with these woman? Emma? He thougth his mother was bad, but his dad too? But slowly it came to his mind. For this reason forgave his dad his mom her relationship with uncle Dylan. He wasn´t better. What should Sammy do now? To yell at his Dad why he cheating too? What´s going on with these group? With his dad and mom, Brenda, Dylan, Steve? He shook his head. Before he continued to read he should get some sleep this night.
So, and now, Sammy know about Brandon and Emma. I watched S8 since a few years again and, I´m apologized for this, but I think Kelly deserved these. She got finally a taste of her own medicine. All the years she was cheating. Now, it was her turn. She should know about the feeling. Review please
