Tigger stared out into the night, his hands gripping his pickaxe as he sat back-to-back with Rabbit, who held his own wooden mallet tightly.
Rabbit glanced about at the others, seeing them in just as frightened a state as he was.
"What are we going to do, Rabbit?", Pooh asked, clutching the bottle in one hand and a stick with the other.
"Show those swimming whippersnappers what for!", Gopher answered as he attached the wires to his keg of dynamite.
"Wh-what's going to happen, Ma-ma?", Roo asked as he huddled fearfully in his mother's pouch.
"I-I don't know, Roo dear.", Kanga answered, reaching one hand down to comforted her baby whilst the other clutched a rubber mallet in a white-knuckle grip. "Are you okay, Owl?"
"Yes.", Owl replied as he cradled his wounded wing. "Say this remains me of the time my third cousin, twice removed…"
"Look!", Piglet squealed in terror as a seal's head popped out of the water a couple of yards away.
"Go away!", Tigger shouted, brandishing his pickaxe threateningly.
"Rargh!", the seal barked harshly.
"Say there's another.", Pooh said, pointing with his stick. "And another…and another….and…oh bother."
Rabbit gulped nervously as more seals surfaced, surrounding their makeshift life raft.
"Rargh!", the seal barked again, signaling its shoal to make their move.
"Oh de-de-dear!", Piglet squeaked, horrified as the seals surged forwards, fangs bared.
