On Today's Episode: The spies head to the rooftop of the Into the Night Hotel to face off with whatever Sebastian and Hayes have in store for them, and it's quite the doozy of a performance. If Sebastian can stop showing off for two seconds, can the spies overcome this latest trump card to save the new hotel from its first day of chaos, or is this the end of the road before the road can even get going?

Act 3: The Captain's Final Waltz

10:07 P.M. – Into the Night Hotel

"All right, you jerks, there's nowhere left for you to run!" Sam proclaimed once everyone had made it to the rooftop of the hotel.

"Believe us when we say hotels aren't for fights!" Alex added.

"Why don't you just give it up now and we'll spare you some face punches?" Dawn told them.

"Oh, but my dear, you should know by now that we will accept no such surrender," Sebastian sneered.

"Eh, it was worth a shot," Nozomi admitted.

"Don't say we didn't try to be nice..." Haruka warned.

"And besides, it's time for the final performance! We can't keep our lovely fans waiting!" Hayes sneered.

"What fans?! And waiting for what?!" Bridget chastised.

"Last time I checked, you got zero 'fans', buddy boy!" Nick remarked.

"Correction, you, of course, and you're waiting for death!" Sebastian added as he and Hayes both took a step backwards before jumping off of the rooftop.

"W-wait, did they just...?!" Emi gasped.

"Oh, why does this feel familiar?" Nick sighed as he jogged over to the edge of the rooftop and peered down to see what was about to approach them.

And sure enough, a giant robot emerged to tower over the spies, this one being more humanoid, but shaped like a guitarist holding an actual guitar in its hands.

"That fits," Haruka quipped.

"...oh, why did I freakin' call it?!" May groaned.

"It doesn't matter, May," Clover replied. "We can take this hunk o' junk easy!"

"Emi, Eri, you two may want to back away a bit," Nick stated. "This is probably gonna get pretty ugly."

"Noted," Emi replied as she moved Eri away from the chaos that was about to erupt.

"Kick that thing's butt, everyone!" Eri exclaimed.

"Oh, trust us, Eri, that was always the plan," Nick quipped as the Steel Titan bore down on them.

"Why don't we start with a few power chords first?" Sebastian cackled from the Steel Titan's cockpit, directing the Steel Titan to play its guitar, said power chords creating a pulse wave that pushed the spies backwards.

"Oh-ho, we're playing that game, are we?!" Bridget exclaimed. "Sonic Mode, online!"

Bridget rocketed forward just as the Steel Titan played another power chord, but Bridget was now fast enough to power through the pulse, equip a Metal Masher Boxing Glove, and punch the Steel Titan in the chest, sending it bending backwards.

"Oh, what, you don't like death metal?!" Sebastian cackled as the Steel Titan reoriented itself and prepared to attack.

"More like we're not impressed by unoriginal lines," Haruka taunted as she fired an Electromagnetic Curling Iron to drive the Steel Titan back. "Mallory used that line when she was still Metalhead, so she got to it first."

"No copyright law in the universe is going to stop us!" Hayes laughed as he activated a function of his own design, opening the Steel Titan's shoulder pads to unleash a barrage of missiles towards Eri and Emi.

Nick was already on the move, placing himself in front of Eri and Emi and spreading his hands out to catch the missiles in his psychic hold.

"Here, enjoy a taste of your own medicine!" Nick shouted, psychically redirecting the missiles back into the Steel Titan.

While the Steel Titan was reeling, May moved in and started bashing at the machine's chest with her anchor, only stopping when she had to jump away from the Steel Titan swinging its guitar at her.

When the Steel Titan attempted to hit the spies with an overhead smash, Nozomi countered by throwing a set of Electric Snare Bolas to constrict the machine's hands and allow Sam, Alex, Clover and Britney to start assembling the Vortex Blaster.

Sam started first, producing an Electromagnetic Curling Iron and tossing it to Britney. Alex followed up with a Laser Lipstick and a Cyclone Blast Hairdryer. Britney connected the Laser Lipstick right above the barrel of the Electromagnetic Curling Iron, and the Cyclone Blast Hairdryer on top of the ECM, just behind the control panel. Clover finished by throwing Britney a Helicopter Hand Fan and a pair of wings from a spare Jetpack Backpack. Britney attached the Helicopter Hand Fan to the underside of the ECM's barrel, then placed the wings on either side of the ECM.

The combination weapon now complete, Sam, Alex, and Clover joined Britney to hold the weapon, Sam and Alex holding the jetpack wings, Clover grasping the side handle and Britney holding the main handle, her finger on the firing trigger.

"That's so cool," Eri gasped, stars in her eyes.

"Has Eri ever seen us use the Vortex Blaster before?" Alex wondered.

"Don't think so, so why not now?" Clover teased.

"Let's destroy this thing!" Britney shouted. "You ladies ready?"

"Let's do it!" Sam stated.

"FIRE!" the four of them shouted together as Britney pulled the firing trigger.

The blades of the Helicopter Hand Fan extended outward and started spinning rapidly. Britney pulled the trigger again, and the Electromagnetic Curling Iron, the Laser Lipstick, and the Cyclone Blast Hairdryer all fired their payload into the spinning blades. Two seconds later, the Vortex Blaster unleashed a massive four-way blast consisting of a large electromagnetic beam surrounded by a spiraling wind blast and a barrage of laser bolts.

The Steel Titan managed to break the Electric Snare Bolas, but in doing so it exposed itself to the Vortex Blaster's attack, and the blast collided with the Steel Titan before exploding in spectacular fashion.

Much to the spies' surprise, however, the Steel Titan was still standing after that attack, though it had clearly taken significant damage from the Vortex Blaster.

"And yes, we made sure to construct it with sturdier armor this time," Hayes chuckled. "You won't be taking us in that easy this time, spies!"

The Steel Titan raised its guitar before slamming it into the floor, shaking it and causing many of the spies to lose their balance.

Nick's gaze instantly shot over to Eri, who was off-balance thanks to the Steel Titan...

...and about to fall off the edge of the rooftop.

Before the Steel Titan could launch another attack, Nick spun around and dashed off just as Eri fell off, diving down to save her.

To Sebastian's confusion, however, Hayes was actually angry about something.

"Hey, what's your damage, man?!" Hayes shouted.

"What do you mean?" Sebastian countered. "I just did what I've been doing, trying to get rid of these wretches."

"And you probably might have just killed a ten-year-old girl, you doddering fool!" Hayes exclaimed.

"Why are you getting so upset, captain?" Sebastian wondered. "We're supervillains."

"Maybe, but I at least have standards!" Hayes retorted. "I'm obsessed with celebrities, not hurting innocent kids!"

"What about the first time?" Sebastian countered. "Don't think I didn't forget that."

"Hey, I can't be responsible for everything my mooks do when I'm not around!" Hayes shouted.

Just then, a brief flash of bright yellow light caught Hayes and Sebastian's attention, a flash that had come from ground level where Eri had fallen.

"...oh, we're in trouble now," Hayes groaned.

From that spot, Nick flew back up into the air, carrying a thankfully-unharmed Eri in his arms and shooting a dangerous glare towards the two villains.

"Oh, you have no idea," Nick growled as he floated back down to the rooftop to set Eri down on safe ground, after which she immediately turned around and hugged him.

"Thank you so much for saving me," Eri stated.

"You gonna be all right, Eri?" Nick asked. "That must have been scary for you, despite what you've already been through..."

"I knew you'd come to my rescue," Eri replied. "You haven't let me down yet."

Nick just smiled and high-fived Eri before taking off to attack the Steel Titan.

The Steel Titan swung its guitar, but Nick slashed at it with a psychic blade, cutting the guitar in half and sending its remains crashing to the rooftop, the spies blasting the pieces with Cyclone Blast Hairdryers to keep it from hitting them.

"Try your stupid tricks now," Nick growled.

"Oh, we'd be more than happy to oblige!" Sebastian laughed as the Steel Titan opened up ports on its hands to fire grappling hooks that wrapped around Nick and yanked him closer, only for both Alex and May to fling Boomerang Buzzsaw Barrettes that cut the grapple lines.

Nick smiled at both girls before turning his attention back to the Steel Titan, dipping downwards to blast a hole through the Steel Titan's chest with a Final Shine Attack, an easy task due to the damage it had already taken from the Vortex Blaster.

Not willing to admit defeat just yet, Sebastian made the Steel Titan start punching the edge of the rooftop, much like it had done earlier, only for Nick to project a psychic barrier to block the punches before jumping up and firing a flurry of psychic bolts into the Steel Titan's head, sending the machine reeling.

While the Steel Titan tried to recover, Nick jumped back and spread his hands out, his right hand surrounded by yellow light and his right hand surrounded by green light.

"Hayes, hurry up and fix the systems!" Sebastian shouted.

"...no, I don't think I will," Hayes taunted.

Nick slammed his hands together, combining the yellow and green lights into a bright silver light that enveloped both of his hands.

"Are you seriously double-crossing me now of all times?!" Sebastian growled.

"After what almost happened to that kid, I'm done trusting you," Hayes retorted. "Just see if I ever team up with you again!"

"...this is incredibly strange," May admitted. "Is this strange to anybody else?"

Nick wrenched his hands apart before clapping them back together, unleashing his gathered energy in the form of a massive wave of silver light almost resembling a tsunami. The wave crashed into the Steel Titan, forcing both Hayes and Sebastian to eject from the cockpit before the Shining Star Attack tore the Steel Titan apart in an extravagant explosion of silver light.

The remains of the Steel Titan collapsed onto the rooftop, Nick psychically guiding it down slowly so it wouldn't cause any damage, then turned to the two villains.

"Anything to say for yourselves?" Nick stated.

Hayes said nothing, while Sebastian tried to think of something that would get him out of trouble.

Before Nick could bubble the baddies up, though, Eri ran forward and slapped Sebastian across the face hard enough to make him dizzy.

"Serves you right," Hayes quipped.

"Can't believe I actually agree with a villain for once," Nick responded as he captured both villains in a psychic bubble, then flicked his right hand upwards to send them both off to containment.

"Well, that's that," Alex chuckled as a W.O.O.H.P. chopper could be seen flying towards the hotel, most likely to corral the remains of the Steel Titan and make sure everyone still inside the hotel was all right.

"I have to say, I was not expecting that captain to get cold feet after what almost happened to Eri," Emi admitted.

"It's at least a nice thing to know that some of our rogues' gallery have lines that even they won't cross," May quipped. "Maybe there's hope for some of them yet."

"Will you two be okay here?" Haruka asked Emi.

"We should be, now that the trouble's over," Emi answered. "I'm just going to have to push my show to tomorrow night because of this, so it's no real problem. You all should get back to headquarters and check in on your injured friends."

"That's just what we were about to do, to be fair," Nick responded as Eri leaped forward to hug him one more time.

"Hope to see you again sometime soon!" Eri laughed as she returned to her mother's side and the spies all took off into the air to head back to W.O.O.H.P. Headquarters.

12:28 P.M. – W.O.O.H.P. Headquarters

Jerry's Office

"Excellent work, agents," Jerry commended as RiCO materialized in the office.

"Thanks, Jer," Alex quipped. "But we saw something we never thought we'd see from our rogues' gallery..."

"Captain Hayes turned on Sebastian," Clover stated for Alex.

"Yes, that was something," RiCO told them.

"RiCO, any word on Mat and Melissa?" Sam wondered.

RiCO didn't have to say anything as one of the doors opened with Mat and Melissa in their swimwear coming out.

"They're fine," RiCO told Sam. "They had... a moment together during your mission."

Nick stood there chuckling at Melissa.

"We were pretty lucky with our injuries, honestly," Mat told Sam.

"But you're okay, right?" Britney wondered.

"No doubt we are," Mat answered.

Melissa was no different. "But that doesn't mean we were hurting off and on..."

"Well, I suppose we'll send you back for a sleep and keep enjoying your summer," Jerry told the spies.

Before long, he sent the spies out, and Sortiliena joined once again.

9:08 A.M. – The Spies' Beach House

The Next Day

After a night's sleep and breakfast, everyone went for the backyard pool... save for Mat and Melissa.

"Oh, Nick..." Haruka stated in a sing-song voice as she sported a bikini again.

Nick couldn't help but chuckle as he usually did when Haruka did this, but he didn't make a move to stop her and pretended to 'fall' into the pool. After all, he'd promised 'one free tease' after worrying about her so much during a previous caper.

"She knows you like a book, Nick," Dawn laughed at Nick as he resurfaced from Haruka making him fall in the pool.

As usual, the spies all heard May bellow out, "PIRATE DIVE!" as she splashed in the pool... on top of Nick.

"Oh, now you've done it, May..." Nick growled.

May gasped as Nick got his revenge on May... having seen what Mat did when May pirate dived on Sam. Before long, Nick had resurfaced, holding May by her ankles again.

"Allow me, Nick," Haruka giggled.

That was when Haruka tickled May's feet again, which caused her to kick her feet.

"Y-You two are gonna pay for that!" May sputtered once she'd resurfaced.

"What do you reasonably expect, May?" Nozomi rhetorically asked.

"I'm inclined to agree," Sortiliena giggled as she looked to see Sam looking inside to see Mat and Melissa together.

Fortunately, Sam wasn't getting jealous in any way, shape, or form since she and Mat had been sleeping in the same bed every night.

Mat and I have a future together after all, Sam thought.

Meanwhile...

In the beach house, Mat and Melissa were having another cute moment on the couch.

"Hey, the hot tub at W.O.O.H.P. wasn't enough for you, eh?" Mat laughed.

"No way," Melissa giggled as they kissed some more.

After about five kisses, Mat paused the moment.

"You're still planning to join the others outside?" Mat asked.

"Yes," Melissa answered.

Mat nodded, and the two got back to being cuddly.

"...hey, Mat?" Melissa asked.

"What's up?" Mat replied.

"I'm not being a third wheel, am I?" Melissa wondered. "I mean, I know this would be weird to anyone else, but..."

Mat knew where Melissa's train of thought was heading, and leaned over to kiss her, a kiss she happily returned.

"Does that answer your question, Melissa?" Mat chuckled.

"Yes, it does," Melissa giggled as she kissed Mat one more time.

The two of them finally left the couch to return to the pool, only to see Sortiliena spinning around with her arms outstretched, sending a torrent of water all around her to splash anyone that got close.

"Ack, how did she see me coming?!" May sputtered.

"You can't get past my combat instructor reflexes!" Sortiliena taunted as she dove underwater to avoid May's retaliation splash, then swam up to grab her by the ankles.

"Oh, no, not again!" May shouted, trying to escape Sortiliena's grasp.

Sam and Bridget heard two more splashes after the fact and saw that those two were Mat and Melissa.

"Well, looks like things are getting pretty lively over here," Melissa giggled.

"No thanks to these two double-teaming me again!" May exclaimed, pointing to Sortiliena and Haruka.

"You know how the saying goes, May, you reap what you sow!" Haruka laughed as she moved in for another attack.

Mat and Melissa both looked at each other, leaned in for one more kiss, then started swimming forward to join in the water battles.

6:51 P.M. – Kedaro Station, Cordelion

Rubicon Forge Elevator

As the elevator continued to ferry her down to the underwater levels of the station, Ashley couldn't help but reflect on the perilous journey she'd been on through so many different dimensions in her efforts to defeat Emperor Terrence once and for all.

And once again, she realized that all of this dimensional chaos was her fault for shooting and wrecking the original Dimensionator, even if she only did it to keep it out of Emperor Terrence's hands.

Ashley shook her head a few times to chase those thoughts away. It wouldn't be too much longer before she could fix this, to be fair. Once she sued the Rubicon Forge to rebuild the Dimensionator, she could close up all the errant rifts and stop reality from falling apart.

"Geez, this is a long elevator ride," Ashley quipped.

"To be fair, it is a long way down to the underwater part of the base," Glitch replied. "And I'm sure you'd rather not brute force it and risk a confrontation with that monster again."

"Yeah, screw that mess in at least five different ways," Ashley chuckled. "...I just hope we can get to the forge in time."

"Hey, you've always managed to scrape your way out of dangerous situations," Glitch answered. "This'll be no different."

Ashley couldn't help but stare into the crystal clear waters that surrounded this elevator.

She really did hope that.

Once all thirteen spies were gathered in Jerry's office, they all noticed something odd.

Namely, they didn't recognize the bad guy that was currently being displayed on the office viewscreen.

"Huh, I wonder who that is," Clover quipped.

"Apparently, he goes by the alias Skip Joystick," Jerry explained. "He's not in our database, so that can only mean he has turned to villainy fairly recently."

"From what we've been able to gather about his schemes, he appears to have once been a video game designer who was rejected by developers for his more... 'outlandish' game ideas," RiCO stated as she materialized in the office.

"Kinda sounds like what Lady Dragon used to be until she decided to focus all of her effort on taking over the Datascape," Melissa noted as the spies moved to gather their gadgets for the mission.

"How did you find out about this guy?" May wondered.

"It would appear that your friends from Idol Opportunity were the ones who brought Skip to our attention," Jerry stated. "They were practicing for the next leg of their tour until a couple members suddenly vanished under mysterious circumstances."

"So, we're gonna have you all fly to Akihabara and meet up with the remaining members so you can get to the bottom of this," RiCO proclaimed. "The Skyskimmer's already charged up for all of you."

"Well, looks like you get to see them before the concert again, huh?" Nick quipped.

"And if this joystick guy hurts even one hair on their heads, I'm gonna snap something," May responded as the spies all headed off to the Skyskimmer.

To be continued in Totally Spies: Button Mashers...
