Emily was swinging her legs as she was sitting on top of Alaric's desk in his classroom while they were waiting for Elena, Caroline, and Bonnie to show up for their emergency meeting. The Saltzman man had tried to get Emily to get off his desk but had given up when the Radkova witch began whining. Alaric knew when to fight his battles and this wasn't one of them.
It was another five minutes (Alaric counted as he boredly stared up at the clock above the chalkboard) before the door to the history classroom was suddenly thrown open.
Emily swiftly moved her green eyes to the threshold of the classroom as she was afraid that Stefan had came to find her. However, Emily quickly relaxed when she saw the Forbes vampire, the Bennett witch, and her twin sister enter the room.
Elena immediately made a b-line towards the Radkova witch. "Are you okay? Did Stefan do anything?" The Gilbert girl hurriedly asked her twin sister as gently grasped Emily's hands from on top of her thighs.
"I'm fine," Emily mumbled as she waved off her twin sister's concern. "He was just being an asshole," the Radkova witch stated as she recalled what the Salvatore vampire had said to her.
"What is he even doing here?" Bonnie asked as she crossed the history classroom until she was standing beside the Gilbert twins.
Emily rolled her green eyes as she jumped off of Alaric's desk. "It's Klaus. He's making Stefan watch over me," Emily explained to the group about what happened during her face-off with her ex-boyfriend. "I guess Klaus thinks I'm going to run, which is stupid when I told him I wasn't going to do that," Emily muttered as she crossed her arms over her chest in annoyance.
"So, what?" Caroline inquired, "is he like your bodyguard now?"
"Well, two bodyguards," Emily corrected the Forbes vampire as she raised up two fingers in the air. "You got to add Tyler in that mix now," Emily muttered.
Bonnie turned to her fellow witch with a deep and confused frown on her face. "Why do you think that?" The Bennett witch inquired.
"In the bathroom, I tested him," Emily told Bonnie and Alaric, who wasn't in the boys' restroom when she did her little test. "Tyler was acting strange, so I asked him some questions," Emily explained to the vampire hunter and the witch. Emily shook her head before she muttered, "it was like the only thought in Tyler's mind was that he had to please Klaus and strangely me as well."
"You?" The vampire hunter asked in puzzlement as he looked at the Radkova witch. "Why you?" Alaric inquired.
"I'm not sure," Emily admitted as she furrowed her brows. "But I think it's because my blood is laced in Radkova magic, so there has to be some sort of connection there," Emily explained her thought process. "I'm not positive, though," the Radkova witch stated as she held up her hands in innocence. "I'll have to ask Deaton to be sure," Emily added.
"Well, that's just great," Alaric sarcastically muttered as he crossed his arms over his chest, "let's add another problem to our lives."
"What are we going to do about this?" Elena worriedly asked as she moved to stand closer to her twin sister. The Gilbert girl anxiously grasped Emily's hand as she inquired, "do you think he'll try anything with you?"
The Radkova witch furrowed her brows as she thought about Elena's question for a second before Emily shook her head. "I don't think so," Emily mumbled as she gave her twin sister's hand an assuring squeeze. "I think Klaus is more just trying to scare me, threaten me," Emily uttered, "to make sure I don't do anything to jeopardize his future hybrids."
"And Tyler?" The Bennett witch questioned.
"Now he's a wildcard," Caroline mumbled as she jumped into the conversation. "When Elena and I were talking to him in the restroom, Tyler wouldn't stop talking about how happy he was to be a hybrid and how it was all thanks to Klaus," the Forbes vampire recalled.
Elena quickly nodded her head in agreement. "It was really strange," the human girl muttered with a frown pulled onto her face.
"So, we can't trust him anymore?" Bonnie asked.
Emily nibbled on her bottom lip for a second before she shook her head. "For now, no," the Radkova witch stated, "we can't be too sure that Tyler won't go blabbing everything back to Klaus."
Emily honestly hated the thought of treating someone she loves like this but she knew they couldn't be too sure. If they wanted to defeat Klaus then they had to be careful of those around them - that meant Stefan nor Tyler could be trusted as of right now.
"I think we-" Emily had began to speak before the first period bell interrupted her as it loudly ran throughout Mystic Falls High School. It only took a few seconds later before a couple of students began to pile into Alaric's history classroom.
Emily mentally cursed as she realized that they had to cut their emergency meeting short. The last thing they needed was for Stefan or Tyler to become suspicious of them; especially since the new hybrid and the emotionless vampire felt some sort of loyalty towards Klaus.
Emily pulled her twin sister with her as she moved closer to Bonnie, Caroline, and Alaric until they were in a small huddle. "Let's put a pause on this for now," Emily told the group as she glanced over to the door, where her classmates were filing into the classroom. "Just be careful what you say in front of them," the Radkova witch advised.
The worst thing that could happen was for Tyler to find out that they didn't worship the ground Klaus walks on like the new hybrid apparently did. Their other problem, of course, was Stefan. Who knew what an emotional vampire would do to any of them if Stefan were to find out about their plan to take out Klaus.
"We'll come up with a plan later," the Radkova witch whispered to the group.
Emily squeezed her twin sister's hand with a comforting smile before the Radkova witch led Elena down the rows of desks. The last thing on Emily's mind at the moment was learning about history but they all had a part that they needed to play. They just needed to act like normal people until they could come up with a plan to deal with Klaus and his two lap dogs.
"Sit here," Emily instructed as she released her twin sister's hand before she tapped her knuckles onto the desk. The Radkova witch only took a couple of steps before she took a seat in the desk right behind Elena.
The Gilbert twins always liked to sit near each other when they would share classes with one another but Emily especially wanted Elena close by with a reckless Stefan attending school.
The Forbes vampire gently placed her palm onto Emily's shoulder as she walked passed her and took a seat in the desk directly behind the Radkova witch. "It'll be okay," Caroline whispered to comfort her best friend.
Emily rotated her body in her desk before she noticed Bonnie sitting in the desk to the left of her. Emily shot her fellow witch a small smile before she looked over to Caroline in the desk behind her. "We'll be okay," Emily assured her two best friends to help them relax, despite the crazy morning they already had.
While none of them knew what was going to happen for the rest of the day, Emily knew they just needed to stay calm. They couldn't let Klaus' lap dogs ruin their daily lives just because they were going to be around. That was just not a good way to live.
Emily may have been too relaxed because the Radkova witch jumped in surprise when she felt someone slam their hands on top of her desk. The Radkova witch quickly turned around and looked to the right of her before Emily found a pouting Tyler Lockwood staring at her from his desk.
"Are you still mad at me?" The Lockwood hybrid whined. "I'll be more careful with my meals," Tyler hurriedly swore in a whisper as he leaned towards the Radkova witch.
Emily released a light chuckle. "I'm not mad," Emily promised as she shook her head before the Radkova witch partly lied, "I just want you to be careful."
While Emily, of course, did want Tyler to be careful, she just couldn't tell him that she didn't think getting blood from Rebekah was the best idea. The Radkova witch just knew Tyler wouldn't take to kindly to that when he honestly believes Rebekah is helping him for Klaus' sake.
A wide grin immediately pulled onto Tyler's face once he was sure the Radkova witch wasn't upset with him. "Good!" The Lockwood hybrid happily proclaimed. Tyler shot Emily a soft smile as he told her, "I just want to take care of you."
The Radkova witch couldn't but cringe at Tyler's words as she looked over to him with a fake smile. It made Emily feel uncomfortable the way Tyler was wording things. It made it seem like Tyler didn't see her as a person; as his best friend. Instead, a blood bag that Klaus told him to watch over.
It was just a very off situation that Emily found herself in and she didn't like it at all.
The Radkova witch was lucky or unlucky to not have the chance to respond back to the Lockwood hybrid when Stefan suddenly appeared in front of Tyler's desk.
"You're in my seat," Stefan deadpanned.
Tyler smirked up at the Salvatore vampire. "I don't think I am," the Lockwood hybrid lazily murmured. Tyler glanced over to Emily before he stated, "I'm right where I'm supposed to be."
Stefan flared his nostrils as he glared down at the new hybrid. "I'm not going to ask you twice," the Salvatore vampire muttered as he threatened the teenager.
Tyler lightly waved his hand in the air as he told the Salvatore vampire, "then move along."
The Salvatore vampire's temper with Tyler was quickly disappeared as he loudly slammed his palms down onto the desk that the hybrid was sitting in.
It was no surprise when the booming sound gained everyone's attention in the classroom. "Is everything okay back there?" Alaric cautiously asked from his spot at the front of the room.
Stefan glanced at each face around the classroom with an innocent smile. "We're fine," the Salvatore vampire announced.
Stefan waited a second for everyone to stop looking in their direction before Stefan moved his gaze back to a grinning Tyler. The Salvatore vampire lowered his voice as he told the new hybrid, "Klaus wants me to stay by her side."
Tyler immediately frowned up at the Salvatore vampire. Tyler hurriedly shook his head. "Klaus wants me to," the Lockwood hybrid insisted, "he told me to protect her."
"Well, you can protect her from the other side of the room," Stefan told the new hybrid as he nodded his head towards the far right of the history classroom.
"No!" Tyler snapped as he pounded his fists onto the desk, "I'm not moving."
The Salvatore vampire shot Tyler a sarcastic grin. "Do you want me to call Klaus and see what he thinks about this?" Stefan asked as he pulled out his cell phone. Stefan let out a tsking sound before he murmured, "I don't think Klaus would be too happy to know his hybrid isn't following his orders."
Tyler didn't even think about it before he growled in agreement, "fine."
The Lockwood hybrid didn't even want to imagine ever disappointing Klaus in any sort of way; especially when Klaus gave him this special gift of being a hybrid. Tyler hated just the thought of doing something Klaus wouldn't approve of.
Tyler angrily and loudly got up from the desk before he stood toe to toe with the Salvatore vampire. Tyler flashed his new bright blue hybrid eyes at Stefan before he roughly bumped his shoulder into the vampire's as he walked past him to get to his new seat.
Stefan silently watched the Lockwood hybrid with an amused smirk before he sat down in his seat. The Salvatore vampire turned his head to the left before a wide grin pulled onto his lips. "Long time no see, babe," Stefan murmured to the Radkova witch.
Emily glanced over to the Salvatore vampire before she rolled her green eyes. Emily wasn't even going to entertain anything Stefan had to say to her as she moved her gaze to the front of the classroom.
The Radkova witch knew it was pointless, anyway, when she knew Stefan was just trying to piss her off - not to mention the emotionless vampire was only here because Klaus told him to keep an eye on his human blood bag.
The Radkova witch honestly didn't have the energy to tolerate Stefan this early in the morning when Emily just wanted to focus on graduating for a few hours a day.
"Welcome back, seniors!" Alaric announced from the front of the classroom. Alaric tossed the white piece of chalk onto the metal tray after he wrote 'AP AMERICAN HISTORY' on the blackboard. "Let's turn our brains back on... starting with this country's original founders," the Saltzman man began as he grabbed a textbook from his desk before Alaric continued, "the Native Americans."
"What about the Vikings?" A new voice suddenly questioned as they interrupted Alaric's history lesson.
Emily quickly looked up from doodling little stars on her notebook at the familiar voice before Emily furrowed her green eyes when she saw Rebekah, Klaus' sister, walk into the classroom. The Radkova witch followed Rebekah with her gaze before she let out a small groan when she saw the original vampire take a seat beside Tyler.
Emily honestly wasn't even shocked that Rebekah decided to show herself since Klaus did tell her to watch over his new hybrid and the fact that Rebekah looked relatively young despite her decades of vampirism. The Radkova witch just felt annoyed especially with the fact that Tyler felt like Klaus and Rebekah walk on water with how highly he praises them.
Another reason why Emily was a little iffy with having the original vampire around, especially at school, was because it would do none of them any good to have Rebekah, Stefan, and Tyler together. It was going to make it that much more harder to put a stop to Klaus' reign.
"Uh..." The Saltzman man muttered as he glanced over to the group of supernatural beings in puzzlement before he focused his gaze back onto the blonde as he stated, "there's no evidence that Vikings explorers actually settled in the United States." Alaric frowned as he asked the teenager, "who are you?"
Rebekah folded her hands neatly onto the desk as a bright smile pulled onto her pink lips. "My name's Rebekah," the original vampire introduced herself, "I'm new and history's my favorite subject."
Emily shared a look with the vampire hunter before she silently shook her head. This was not good at all. It meant there would be three pairs of eyes on Emily and watching her every move all thanks to Klaus. Emily honestly felt quite annoyed that the original hybrid was making the trio stalk her when she already told Klaus that she had no plan of running from him.
Emily also didn't like having the original vampire around was because there was so many innocent people around that could get hurt. Rebekah was a wildcard in Emily's opinion since she didn't know much of anything about Klaus' sister. The Radkova witch could only hope that they could keep everything under control until Mikael came for Klaus.
