Hi folks nice to see you again, so welcome to the fourth chapter of this story, so I made the decision to skip the treasure island episode between the Syrup Village Arc and the Baratie one since it was a pretty straightforward episode, nothing much for me to write
Anyway, let's answer some reviews right? So, the harem question I had, well that's no longer an issue, I'm sticking to just Logan x Nami's story with Logan playing big brother or little brother to the other females
Mainly Vivi and Robin
This gets me to your comment Desert Queen, yep Logan has some similar traits as Robin, mainly the ability to read Poneglyphs, that doesn't mean Robin will be redundant in this story, I think with Logan knowing too they can make a great duo together, and if I get to where Law plays a major part, the better
And I can confirm another crew member that will join besides Gin which I personally want, which is Ms. Goldenweek, the deciding factor, her power is too cool, anyway that's pretty much it

Chapter 4: Baratie Part 1
So, a Poneglyph is a treasure sort to speak, but it isn't like gold or diamonds or even money, no it's something even better, a remnant of what has been forgotten, of a civilization that has been extinct for over a hundred years now, a nation that the government seems very keen on making them disappeared
And they spoke and wrote in a language that few people can actually understand, here in my journal I got some samples of it
Wow, I don't understand anything
I wasn't expecting you to Cap'n, like a told you a language is long forgotten and only a few can read it let alone understand it, that's what makes it so valuable
And you can?
Of course, sweetheart, I'm one of the few that can, my mother taught me before she passed away, the only one that I know is a girl a little older than me who's also from the west Blue, anyway this ability per se, is so sought after and also very frowned upon, I mean imagine having the ability to read something the government can, and with the rumors that these Poneglyphs have the secret to throw the government out, a person with that ability is bound to become an enemy of the government
I see, that's what happens to you?
More or less Zoro, I mean my father first found out I could do it, he was so proud or that was what I thought, turns out he saw me as a goddam gold mine and put me to work like a dam workhorse
Anyway, I read through some stuff and I found out how lucky or unlucky depending on your, but I had a gift from my mother so I couldn't complain, anyway, I lied to my father about what I found, and he knew, so he tried to get me to speak, but I couldn't, not to him, so he put me in an island near Wano, as a prisoner away from my sister and everything
After a couple of months there I met Arthur and John, my brothers, turns out the Van Der Lin gang wanted to rob the island I was, and I helped them, just to stick it to my old man
At first, they weren't sure, so I just showed them, I pretended to be a sad little lost boy and the guards felt for it, letting them have the perfect time to rob them blind
And by doing that both of them saw something in me, later I would find out that they saw themselves in me when they were younger, so when I told them my story, I pleaded to them to take me out of there and they did, without question
They took me to their ship which was set near Wano, and there I met Dutch, a charismatic old man, the type that always has a following, like a preacher would, and everyone loved him, I did too, he was like the father I never had
Gang was big, about fifteen people give or take, with more people joining us before all when to hell, but that's another story
So one of the gang members and leaders. so to speak, Hosea Mathews, was a fan of the hidden treasures that the Poneglyphs were, so when he found out I could read them, he was ecstatic, and he couldn't let me go, and made me a student of the game sort of speak
I learn a lot from those four, Dutch taught me how to believe. How to dream, and how to achieve what I wanted, Hosea taught me how to swindle people, he was a conman after all, and how to understand and use people to my favor, whether it was for good or bad intentions
Arthur taught me how to survive, with help from other people, he taught me how to ride a horse, to hunt, to behave like a decent person he said
And John, John taught me how to be a gunslinger, everything I need to know about weapons he taught me, he taught me how to steal too, well he made me the man I am today, and he saved my life
I loved being there and then everything went to shit after the mess in Blackwater, but that's another story, one that I need to be drunk enough to tell, but you guys wanted to know how this happened, me getting my bounty that's it
Well, it happen because I stole something from a celestial dragon
A celestial dragon!? Are you insane!?
A little, Hosea thought the same when he found out, but that treasure, I wanted, it was the treasure that belong to a pirate well before Roger's era, a pirate that worked close to the government for his own gain, they even made him a knight, Sir Francis Drake
This story happened ten years ago, when I was nine, on an island up north of the west Blue, I followed the tail to a celestial dragon's house,
Nine years ago
A younger Logan was walking the busy streets looking around in wonder and curiosity "Ah I hate cities, what's so wrong about the free wild lands," Logan thought as he took a seat on a barrel of a vendor and took out a paper from his satchel
"According to that old feller I rob, the museum should open in an hour, I should make my way there," Young Logan thought as he put out his paper away and grabbed an apple from the vendor, and went towards the museum
He took about twenty minutes to get there as he saw several people entering the museum already, so he walked forward and bumped into a man who was alone on the path to the museum
"Sorry mister, I wasn't seeing where I was going," Young Logan said as the man grumbled and narrowed his eyes before walking away
Young Logan sighed in relief as he made his way into the museum with the ticket he robbed from the man he had just bumped
The clerk looked at Logan with a raised eyebrow in confusion, he didn't get why a little kid would like to go into a museum of his own free will
"I'm a fan of the arts?" Young Logan said rhetorically and sarcastically making the clerk sigh and shook his head
"They don't pay me enough to care," The clerk said as he stamped the ticket and returned it to Logan "In you go kid, no touching and no crossing the lines got it?" The clerk said seriously and Logan smiled a little
"Don't worry mister, I will be a top-notch citizen," Logan said with a cheek grabbing the ticket and walking into the museum grabbing a pamphlet of the museum in the process
"Now, where is Sir Francis Drake's showcase?" Logan mused as he found the showcase on the far right of the museum and made his way toward there
Only to find that the showcase was closed with only one guard of the museum standing in front of the doors Logan made his way toward the guard
"Uh excuse me, mister. Why is Sir Francis Drake's showcase closed?" Logan asked in curiosity as the guard looked down at Logan
"Sorry kiddo, a celestial dragon bought the whole art in the showcase, he should be here any minute," The guard said and Logan grumbled in irritation
"Is there any way I can go in there and see it? Come on mister I pay a lot for it," Logan said trying his best puppy eyes but it was of no use
"Sorry kiddo can't do, now scram away," The guard said and Logan sighed and walked away
"How can I move him away?" Logan wondered and then his eyes winded and his face formed a mischievous smile on his face when he saw a group of women near the guard
"Excuse misses, can I ask you a question?" Logan asked innocently as the group of three women looked down at Logan
"Of course dear, what do you need sweaty," One of the women, the one in the middle said, crouching down to Logan's eye level
"What does squeezing my meat on those women's big melons mean?" Young Logan asked innocently as the woman froze and narrowed her eyes
"Excuse me?" Another woman the one on the right asked irritated
"Ah well, I heard the guard over there saying it to another guard earlier," Logan said acting clueless "And I thought, what weirdo mixes meat with melons, and I figured he meant something else, and I came asking you," Logan said and then he pretended to be shocked as his eyes winded
"Is it a bad thing? I'm so sorry ma'ams," Logan said scared and the one on the left grabbed his shoulders
"Don't worry sweaty, you did good," The woman on the left said squeezing Logan's shoulders lightly "It was the guard on the door right?" The woman asked and Logan nodded faking tears in his eyes "Don't worry we will only have a chat with the guard that's all," The woman said as the trio of women walked up to the guard
Logan leaned on the wall and saw how the women approach angrily the guard, then he winced at how the women started beating up the guard who tried to plead with them, the woman left the area and a beaten up guard was angry as Logan approached the guard
"I'm sorry dude, you should've just let me in though," Logan said as he silently entered the showcase closing the door behind him
He straighten up and looked around at the several cases of paintings and art items around there, but Logan had three items in mind, just three, and whoever arranged the showcase clearly didn't know what he was doing, he only put the shiny and eye-pleasing art on the front and the real treasure on the end
Well at least from Logan's perspective anyhow, he made his way to the showcase and took out a lock pick, and started trying to open the glass he did as he saw what he wanted inside, a metal ring with a Poneglyph engraving that read SIC, PARVIS, MAGNA, which meant greatness from small beginnings, a brown leather journal which had the name of the pirate he was searching in the forgotten language
And a map with a drawing that Logan didn't recognize but hoped that the journal gave some hint to it, he grabbed all the things putting the map and the journal away while closing the box again and watching the ring in wonder
Then he heard the door open and his eyes winded as he quickly hide near a counter and waited to see who it was and he cursed mentally
The celestial dragon that had bought the art arrived with an entourage behind him, some police of the marines, a journalist and a photographer, and the guard who had been outside of the room with some bruises talking to the celestial dragon about the art and stuff
Logan looked at the conversation in wonder trying to find a way out but because of that he didn't see the marine that approached him
"Found a stowaway boss," The marine said grabbing Logan by the back of his neck Logan tried to escape but couldn't as the marine dropped Logan on the floor the celestial dragon pointed a gun at the child and Logan quickly put his hands up and smiled nervously
"Whoa, whoa partner easy there, no need to get all antsy," Logan said chuckling nervously as the celestial dragon who was a middle age man glared down at Logan but put the gun away
"Why is there a brat on my property!?" The celestial dragon demanded angrily at the group but no one had an answer except the guard of the museum
"Wait, you're the kid who wanted to enter here earlier, the hell are you doing here!?" The guard said grabbing Logan by the arm and pulling him close to him
"Well, I couldn't pass the opportunity to see great Sir Francis Drake work up close, I just couldn't," Logan said as the guard grumbled in annoyance and tried to take Logan out of the showcase
"I'm sorry lord, I'll get rid of this brat and then we can continue the showcase," The guard said as Logan let the guard drag him out
"Wait," The celestial dragon said as Logan and the guard cursed mentally as they turn around "You kid, you said you had to see the showcase, why?" The old man said as Logan looked around nervously and found an exit on the left side of the room, an unoccupied open window
"Ah well, I'm a big fan of Sir Drake, lord," Logan said as the guard let him go and Logan looked at the celestial dragon nervously "His journey on the grand line, as short as it was, it's legendary," Logan said and the celestial dragon narrowed his eyes at him
"Show me, I fear the museum guard hasn't done his job pretty well," The celestial dragon said as the guard sighed and Logan saw his opportunity
"Well you cannot blame this feller too much, Sir Drake was a private person, so not many know of his work," Logan said walking to the showcase near the window "The only thing we know is that the government paid Drake handsomely to find the lost treasure of Marco Polo, a pirate working for the ruler of Wano before Oden's time," Logan said pointing to a portrait "But there's another rumor greater than what it's believed," Logan said excitedly as the Celestial Dragon looked at the portrait of Drake in wonder
"Which is?" The lord asked in curiosity
"Many believe that Drake didn't find the treasure and died at the grand line before he could find it, but I think differently," Logan said as the celestial dragon raised an eyebrow at him wanting an answer "Neither Marco Polo nor Drake returned to the people that they worked for, I think they found something that spooked them or made them greedy and hide the treasure for themselves, in some place in the grand line," Logan said excitedly as the celestial dragon chuckled
"That's a great theory kid, shame most people can't read most of those words that Drake wrote," The celestial dragon said looking down at Logan who felt a sweat drop behind him as he felt in danger "But you are not most people, are you?" The celestial dragon said as Logan looked at him nervously
"What do you mean sir?" Logan asked and saw the dragon looking at him with narrowed eyes
"I recognized your eyes looking at the engravings, I saw it with those demons from Ohara," The celestial dragon said looking down at Logan with shiny eyes "Seems like I found the real treasure in you, a demon kid just for me, he's coming with us," The celestial dragon said and Logan didn't waste any time after that statement from the celestial dragon, so he pushed the old man into the showcase breaking it in the process
Logan ran and quickly climbed towards the window and before he could jump out he turn around and smirked at the celestial dragon
"Sorry my lord, I already belong to the Van Der Lin family, I cannot be contained," Logan said chuckling with a smirk on his face as the photographer took a photo as Logan let himself drop from the window
He fell into a familiar set of arms who was waiting there on a horse "Arthur, Charles, what are you guys doing here?" Logan asked with a cheek as Arthur put him in front of him
"Mary-Beth saw you heading towards the museum," Charles said as Logan sighed and laughed nervously "You were out of the camp too long, Dutch grew concerned and sent us here," Charles said as Arthur looked down at Logan
"Kid, what did you do?" Arthur asked in curiosity with a raised eyebrow and the trio heard shouting coming from inside the museum
"I'll tell you on the way, we have to go, I pissed on some important fellers," Logan said Arthur knowing the sort of problems Logan got to, didn't question it and started riding his horse with Charles behind
Present time
"And after they were done scolding me, I got grounded," Logan said chuckling "Couldn't leave the camp without an escort till Dutch deem it okay, didn't help that three days later I got my bounty," Logan said with a chuckle drinking from his whiskey as Luffy and Ussop was sitting crossed legged in front of him like little kids hearing an exciting story
"You went into all that trouble for a ring and a paper?" Zoro asked in curiosity and Logan took a necklace he had been hiding on himself
"I wanted the journal more than anything, to be fair," Logan said with a chuckle "The man talks in a rhetorical and a poetic manner, is hard trying to figure out what he meant," Logan said finishing up his whiskey
"Did you find it?" Nami asked in curiosity as Logan looked at her with a raised eyebrow "The treasure I mean, did you find it?" Nami asked and Logan sighed as he looked at the ring
"No, didn't have the time for it, not after the mess we created within our crew," Logan said adopting a faraway look but then he quickly change it to a happier one "Anyway, let's continue our party fellers, to Ussop! Our Newest Member!" Logan said cheering as Luffy and Ussop cheered and started dancing away
But not Zoro and Nami, no they instead noticed how Logan had become downcast after telling the story, Zoro thought to leave him alone, to him Logan didn't appear to be the person to stay down very long
But Nami had a different mindset, she grew concerned and vowed to herself to speak to Logan after the party, even if she was going against everything she promised to herself, of just using this crew and then ditching them after gaining enough treasure
So, when the night fell and everyone had gone to sleep, Nami walked out of the women's quarters and found Logan watching the sea with a melancholy look on his face and smoking a cigarette
"It's so peaceful isn't it?" Logan said as Nami put herself next to him
"What is?" Nami asked in curiosity looking at Logan and noticing that his hat was on the fence of the boat
"The sea, so vast, so free, so peaceful," Logan said with a sigh blowing a cloud of smoke and throwing the cigarette into the ocean "And yet the more you into it, the more risk you are of losing yourself, that's just messed up," Logan said looking at her as she silently watched him
"How much do you need Nami?" Logan said looking straight at her and she wasn't surprised anymore
She didn't know if it was because both of them were so similar or because he understood her in a way that nobody could, just as she understood him in a way no one else could, so she sighed and stared at the sea
"My debt, if I can call it that, is of a hundred million and I'm missing five million of it," Nami said and Logan scoffed and chuckled dryly
"Jesus, a hundred? No wonder you're stealing from pirates," Logan said chuckling as he shook his head "I can imagine how crooked and evil the bastard that has a rope around you is," Logan said scratching his head
"How do you know that?" Nami asked in curiosity, not surprised he figured it out, but curious as to why he thought that
"Your clear distaste for pirates is a big hint, and my crew used to do exactly that, it's called taxes or something," Logan said with a sigh as he narrowed his eyes "You got to understand, we were criminals, sure we had a code, but criminals nonetheless," Logan explained "There was a man, he talked funny, Leopold Strauss, and he did one job every time we moved to a different city," Logan said as Nami leaned on the boat and looked at Logan hearing his story
"He went into town, offering loans to people with interest of course," Logan said as Nami noticed how angry and irritated Logan had become "And he didn't wait much to go and get those interest back, and he send Arthur to collect, every single time," Logan said rubbing his face trying to clear his anger away "Till one of those collections made Arthur sick and he started question everything, especially when he saw that I was turning just like him," Logan said as Nami raised an eyebrow letting him know silently of her curiosity
"A bad man," Logan said and Nami nodded in understanding "Which fair enough I was, after all, it was all I knew, so he taught me good," Logan said chuckling trying to mask his sadness "Boy, I'm gonna do right by you, even if that's the last thing I do," Logan said as Nami grabbed his hand trying to comfort him "I miss him, him and John, both of them were everything to me," Logan said rubbing his eyes and straighten up
"I'm sorry, must've been hard talking about those days," Nami said as Logan stared at her with a smile on his face
"Some bits, but my best days were with them, so I have to remember them every day I can," Logan said putting his hat back on his head "Your eyes they're the same as me and the people we lend money, that's how I knew," Logan said looking at her as Nami looked down and Logan grabbed her chin with delicacy and made her face up
"I don't know what you lost, but I know it was hard," Logan said as both of them stared into each other's eyes "And I don't know what problem you're in, that's your business, but I can help you," Logan said passing his hand along her cheek "My share, the crew's share that is, I've put it with yours, for now," Logan said as Nami's eyes winded
"Wait why?" Nami asked in shock as Logan sighed
"After Syrup Village, we have enough to get us to Lougetown," Logan said letting go of Nami "I may not remember much from the grand line, but I know this, if you enter it, you'll never get out to deal with your problem," Logan said with sympathy as he put a hand on her shoulder "When the time is right, take it, don't look back, no one will judge you Nami," Logan said as Nami started tearing a bit
"Why are you doing this? You know I was going to betray you guys and take the money right?" Nami said and Logan nodded
"I know, I would've done the same in your shoes," Logan said and Nami frowned a little
"Then why aren't doing anything against it?" Nami asked grabbing him by the shirt in irritation "Why aren't you stopping me? Or threatening me like the others whom you have faced? I deserve it," Nami said as Logan just stared at her and then she dropped her face to his chest with some tears flowing out
"Why did you have to be a good guy?" She said as Logan put his hands around her
"I'm not," Logan whispered bringing her close "Because once you pay your debt, I'm coming after you and kill whoever has a hang on you," Logan said patting the back of her head "That I can promise, I will set you free Nami because you deserve that much," Logan said as he let her cry, he knew she was pushing herself too hard, so he just wanted her to let go for a moment, and if his story could lend her that opening, he would take it
"I have been on the east blue for three weeks now," Logan thought as he was writing his thoughts in his journal while the crew were absorbed in their own things
Ussop was pretending to fight some imaginary pirates, Nami was looking at the map to the grand line while sitting on top of a barrel, Zoro was taking a map and Luffy was drawing something in a black sail
"Met a funny guy, he wears a straw hat, he shouted that he wanted to be pirate king, without any trace of doubt in his voice, I felt moved by him, or something, decided to join him and a swordsman on his crew," Logan wrote on the journal as he looked up to stare at Nami
"Met a girl, with a fire inside of her that can't be tame it seems, something troubles her, of that I'm sure, hope I can help her in a way, or she'll turn like me, rotten from the inside," Logan wrote with a sigh as he stopped and put the journal into his satchel just in time to see Ussop talking to them about not being apathetic
"It's ready!" Luffy said gaining the attention of everyone and showed them what he was painting
"The hell is that Cap'n?" Logan asked in confusion looking at the horrible drawing of a pirate flag Luffy tried to make
"Isn't a pirate flag supposed to strike fear in people's hearts?" Zoro asked as the Straw-Hat crew looked at the pirate flag in confusion
"The only fear I feel is fear for your abilities," Nami said making Logan chuckle a little which made her smirk a little and the Ussop tsked moving his finger side by side
"You should've told me earlier," Ussop said proudly "I guess you didn't know but I'm a pretty talented artist," Ussop said pumping his chest out
"Talented artist?" Luffy asked in confusion as Zoro and Logan looked at Ussop with deadpan expressions on their faces
"Sure, I've been painting graffiti on walls for over fifty years now," Ussop said clearly lying and the straw hats minus Luffy looked at each other and decided to make fun of Ussop
"Awesome! Fifty years!?" Luffy said in amazement
"In that case, you should be an old man by now," Zoro said sarcastically as Ussop's eyebrow twitched
"Also he should've at least five or six grandkids," Nami said as Ussop's sweat dropped
"An' you left them back in the island alone old man? That's not very nice of you," Logan said sarcastically as Ussop looked at them annoyed
"Hey, stop it!" Ussop said as the crew laughed at his antics
So Luffy made him paint the new sail, and after fixing the one he made of himself he presented it to the straw-hats
It was a simple jolly roger with a straw hat on top of it, "So, amazing right?" Ussop said proudly as everyone looked at it
"Whoa, you did amazing Ussop," Nami said in an amazed voice seeing the pirate flag
"Yeah, I like this one better," Luffy said with a smile on his face
"So, this is a new emblem huh?" Zoro asked rhetorically and Logan looked at it with a smile
"It's cool, want to tattoo it on your back?" Logan asked sarcastically to Zoro as he frown and looked at Logan in confusion
"Why would I want to do that?" Zoro asked as Logan smirked at him
"Because it will fit your cool and calm act you try to put on partner," Logan said mockingly as Zoro twitched annoyed "Besides if I can I'm tattooing it on my shoulder the first chance I get," Logan said as the crew looked at him in confusion except for Luffy who was looking at him in excitement
"Really!?" Luffy asked and Logan nodded
"Yeah, I'm part of your crew, aren't I? I want to show it to the world if I can," Logan said with a chuckle as Luffy smiled at him
"You don't have to Logan, we'll all know who is our friend and who isn't the world doesn't need to know," Luffy said and Logan smiled at him, more and more Luffy showed him he made the right decision joining this crew
"Right Ussop! Paint it on the sail!" Lufyy ordered as Ussop nodded and started painting the jolly roger on the sail
"Are we close?" Logan asked Nami as she was looking at a map with a frown on her face
"Yeah, according to the rumors our next destination should be that island ahead," Nami said as Ussop and Luffy looked at her in confusion
"That scary-looking island?" Ussop asked and sure enough, the island was surrounded by a storm and black clouds, it didn't look inviting for any sailor or pirate for that matter "Why though?" Ussop asked afraid as Luffy nodded not because he was afraid but because he just didn't see the point
"Yeah, are you sure we shouldn't just go around and save the trip," Luffy said and Logan nodded his head at Luffy
"He gets it," Logan said to Nami who narrowed her eyes at him
"We're talking about a potential two million treasure here Logan," Nami said with a devious smirk "So don't give me that look you supposed treasure hunter," She said sarcastically and Logan scoffed
"I know you heard the rumors of the legendary treasure island," Logan said as the crew's eyes winded except Zoro's and Nami's, one because she already knew about the rumors and the other, well he couldn't be bothered "But if they're true will risk the anger of the gods for a treasure that probably ain't real," Logan said crossing his arms while finishing talking and Nami made a put and tried puppy eyes on him
"Come on Logan~," Nami said sweetly putting her hands together and in front of him in a praying manner "Just do it because you like me so much~," Nami said and Logan looked down and smirked at her
"Fine, fine, you win sweetheart," Logan said as Nami celebrated her small win "But it's Luffy's decision in the end, not mine," Logan said as Nami stopped and tsked in annoyance
"The ire of a god huh?" Luffy said in wonder as Ussop tried to dissuade him from going there "Yosh, to the treasure island we go!" Luffy declared as Logan chuckled and nodded his head
"You heard him folks, Ussop man up the sail, with this weather who knows if we get side track, Zoro keep an eye out, just in case," Logan said as Zoro nodded and went to the crow's nest of the ship
"Want me to steer the helm?" Logan asked Nami as she nodded Logan nod his head having his job now as Ussop looked at Nami in confusion
"Hey, can I ask you a question?" Ussop said to Nami as she looked at Ussop with a raised eyebrow silently telling him to ask away "Why does he keep giving commands instead of Luffy?" Ussop asked in genuine curiosity as Nami stared at the retiring form of Logan
"He's smart, and he's used to this life unlike us, so when our captain is our moral compass," Nami said as they saw Luffy seating on the sheep figure of the boat "Logan is the brains who keep that wildness in check, he's the vice-captain after all," Nami said as Ussop nodded in understanding and went to do his job
"Want a drink?" Logan said as he climbed the crow nest where Zoro was keeping guard
Zoro looked down at Logan with a smirk on his face as he let Logan up the outlaw had a bottle of whiskey in his hands "We missed you out there on the island," Zoro said as Logan gave him a glass as he pours the whiskey on the cups
"I heard, a guy that fell inside a chest?" Logan asked with a chuckle "I shouldn't have offered to look guard the ship," Logan said with a laugh in his voice and Zoro chuckled
"You didn't miss much, wasn't much action there, just a weird old man that's all," Zoro said and Logan nodded
"And no treasure, if I gather right from Nami's downcast expression after you guys came back," Logan said and Zoro chuckled a little "Must be hard, being all the time alone just to find out that there's no treasure," Logan said as both men took a sip of his cups
"So, you heard my conversation with Nami yesterday?" Logan asked in curiosity as he was the only one so far that knew that Zoro always kept a lookout in the night, so he knew he probably had overheard them
"Just your story about that Strauss guy, after that I just stop listening," Zoro said and Logan nodded
"Thanks, I don't have any issue about talking about my past, but Nami is a different manner," Logan said leaning on the wall of the crow's nest behind him "So, can I ask how your dream came to be? Or is to personal?" Logan asked in curiosity as Zoro leaned back just like Logan
"I joined a kendo dojo," Zoro said as Logan made himself comfortable to listen to Zoro's story "I was good but not as good as the daughter of the sensei of the dojo, Kuina was her name," Zoro said as Logan noticed how he used the word was and chose not to say anything "She beat me, every time, no matter how much I train she was better than me, but she had a mental block that she put herself on," Zoro said as Logan drank from his cup
"She thought that because she was a woman, she would lose strength and become weaker," Zoro said as Logan nodded in understanding
"I get it, is not fair but that's the thought everyone has," Logan said with a sigh "So, what happened next?" Logan said trying not to get too far from the topic
"We duel with real swords, as a last duel, and she beat me again," Zoro said and Logan chuckled sightly "And I set her straight, I told her she was strong, no matter what sex she was," Zoro said and grabbed his white sword "And we promise to become the greatest swordsman right there and there," Zoro said as he gained a melancholy look on his eyes
"Guessing it didn't end well," Logan said in sympathy as Zoro took a big gulp of his cup and Logan pour another cup to him
"No it didn't, she fell and landed on the thing we used to sharpen our swords," Zoro said as Logan looked at him sadly "One of the strongest persons I knew, and she was dead, just like that, and I didn't even have the chance to prove to her that I was stronger," Zoro said with a sad tone
"That's the way it is, death doesn't know the time, she just comes whenever she wants," Logan said sighing as he took a sip from his cup "So now you carry her dream to right?" Logan asked and Zoro nodded "It's a big dream partner, I think is the second most difficult goal just behind becoming Pirate King," Logan said as Zoro raised an eyebrow
"The man you want to beat, the only way I can describe him is with one word," Logan said looking at the sea "Monster," Logan said as Zoro looked at him not believing what he was saying
"He can't be that strong," Zoro said as Logan looked at him seriously
"Can you cut through steel? Can you cut this caravel in half? Can you cut an incoming wave?" Logan said as Zoro snorted and shook his head
"No one can do that," Zoro said and Logan chuckled dryly
"He can, and that's just the tip of the iceberg of that man's power, I've seen it Zoro," Logan said as Zoro's eyes winded "I know you're strong, and I'm certain that you will achieve your goal, but not today, there's a reason why the east blue is considered the weakest of all the seas, there's no great foes for you to fight here, the biggest, the toughest, the most powerful swordsmen are in there, the grand line," Logan said as Zoro looked at his hands in deep thought
"Then what do you think I should do?" Zoro asked seriously as Logan looked him straight in the eye
"Train with me, I'm not great but I can give you a small experience, enough for you to be ready to face those in paradise," Logan said as Zoro stared at him in confusion
"Paradise?" He asked confused
"The grand line is divided into two parts, Paradise, and the New World," Logan said with a dry chuckle "Paradise is called that because in comparison to the new world, it's paradise," Logan said as he put a cup forward "I believe in you Zoro, your will is far greater than some people I met, now is time to get your strength there," Logan said as Zoro grabbed his cup and put it forward
"Thanks, I also believe in you cowboy," Zoro said pushing his cup towards Logan's cup "Our dreams will be achieved, of that I have no doubt," Zoro said as Logan chuckled
And a bond formed between both men that night, a bond that was born from the desire to accomplish what many thought was impossible, a brotherhood in simple terms, after all, they didn't stop drinking till they finish the bottle
Nami was the one to woke up and what she found on the deck of the caravel amused her and make her sigh at the same time
She found Zoro passed out with his swords all over the place and Logan passed out near the left fence of the boat with his hat on his face with an empty bottle of whiskey near him
She chuckled and shook her head at the scene and then she grabbed a chair and sat on it and started reading a book
After Ussop and Luffy woke up Ussop went on the deck to work on some drawings and Luffy was carrying a big box that had the word DANGER written in red on it
Zoro and Logan were still unconscious as Luffy dropped the box on the floor rocking the ship a little shocking Nami and Ussop
"Uf, that was heavy," Luffy said looking at the box
"Hey, what the hell is that!?" Nami asked afraid
"Don't know, it was in the storage room, I wanted to ask Logan but he's asleep," Luffy said chuckling as Nami's sweat dropped
"Asleep wouldn't be the word I'd use," Nami whispered to herself as Luffy opened the box revealing the contents of it, which were several cannon balls stacked together "Cannonballs?" Nami asked in curiosity
"Well we do have a cannon to test it, it would be a shame not to," Luffy said as Nami looked at the map for a moment
"There's a little r0ck formation near here, it should be a good practice area," She said as she directed the ship towards there and made anchor once the rock formation was near
Luffy fired the first shot and missed but it did carry some other effects as those who were unconscious woke up startled and Logan took out his gun quickly
"What? Where's the danger!?" Logan said as Zoro couldn't even move from the aching pain he had
"Hello sleeping beauties, you boys had a good nap?" Nami asked cheekily as Ussop and Luffy stared at Zoro and Logan in confusion
"Ugh, I feel like I've been hit by a train or a ship," Zoro said grabbing his head in pain as Logan tried to stand up but just as he stood up he had to run towards the rail of the ship because everything he had on his stomach came rushing out as he started throwing up into the ocean
"Uh, what's wrong with them?" Luffy asked concerned and Nami chuckled as Logan dropped to the floor rubbing his face
"They're hangover, they probably had a good drink last night," Nami said as Zoro managed to push himself towards the others dragging Logan behind him
"What are you guys doing?" Zoro asked as Logan rolled over and groan in pain as Nami chuckled at him
While Zoro talked to Luffy and Ussop while leaning on the wall to get some rest Nami walked to where Logan had left his hat and grab it, and she tried to resist the urge to wear it, well not that much so she just shrugged her shoulders and put the hat on and fix it to look good as she walked toward the tired and hurt cowboy and crouched down
"Are you wearing my hat?" Logan asked tiredly as he blinked to try and look at Nami, who tried to defend herself quickly but stopped when he saw Logan smiling dumbly at her "You look gorgeous wearing it sweetheart," Logan said making Nami blush a little and chuckle
"You're drunk Logan, you're talking nonsense," She said and Logan chuckled
"About you? Never," Logan said groaning a little between words "I would never spill nonsense about you darling," Logan said and Nami blushed again hard and sighed as she passed her finger along his hair
Then Ussop fired the cannon again destroying the cliff on his first try making Logan and Zoro wince again "Headache?" Nami asks rhetorically still playing with Logan's hair
"Yeah, nothing a good ol' cup of coffee won't fix," Logan said and Nami nodded with a smile on her face
"Let's get something to eat then, think you can walk there?" Nami said as Logan look up at her with a cheeky smile
"If I say no would you carry me there?" Logan asked jokingly as Nami raised an eyebrow questioning him silently "I can, not my first time being this wasted," Logan said as he managed to stand up but almost tripped over till Nami grabbed a hold of him
"Don't push yourself too hard, come on you drunk," Nami said chuckling as she helped him walk to the kitchen
~Line break~
The crew was gathered inside the kitchen with Luffy and Logan eating some food, Luffy was eating the usual piece of meat, and Logan had made himself some starry eggs to get rid of the headache after drinking a cup of coffee
They were talking about maybe having another crew member joining Luffy happily saying he wanted a musician and frankly Logan was too tired to try an' paid full attention, so he just focused on his meal and once he was done he dropped his head on the table with a sigh
"I shouldn't have drunk that much yesterday," Logan thought as he realized that Luffy wasn't there and Nami and Ussop were looking outside "What's going on?" Logan asked without moving from his position
"A stowaway, demanding a fight with Luffy," Nam said and Logan grumbled and rubbed his face in annoyance
"How many?" Zoro asked in curiosity and Ussop looked at Logan and Zoro with concern
"Just one," Ussop said as Logan sighed and dropped his head down again
"Our cap'n can handle it, wake me up if things get too out of hand," Logan said with a yawn as he drift back to sleep again
"We're close now, the grand line, seems I'll have to visit that guy in Loguetown again," Logan thought as he felt someone shake him and saw Zoro nodding his head to the exit telling him to follow him "Things are about to change I think," He thought as he heads out of the dining room
