When Naruko opened her eyes she noticed that she was wearing a hospital gown and her hair was down. She looked around to see that she was in what looked like a hospital room but it was smaller than normal. "I'm glad to see that you're awake." "Took you long enough. You were out for a week." Naruko slowly sat up and looked at the door with her eyes widened in shock and disbelief. Standing by the door were two beautiful girls that would have any guy chase after them and would make any girl jealous.
"Scarlett… Amy" Naruko said with tears in her eyes. The two smiled and walked towards the bed. "It's been a very long time. I'm really happy to see you again Naruko" Scarlett said with pure joy at seeing her friend again. "Amy? What happened to airhead huh pigtails?" Amy said teasingly. Without responding and with tears streaming down her face Naruko, overwhelmed with emotions, jumped out of bed and tackled both girls in a big hug knocking all three of them to the ground.
"I thought you two had died. I'm so happy to see you both again" Naruko said sobbing. Neither Scarlett or Amy said anything they just returned Naruko's hug and let her cry. After a bit Naruko hesitantly let go of Scarlett and Amy wiping away her tears. Once she could see clearly again she was able to get at clear look at how different the her friends looked.
Scarlett's hair was now darker and longer reaching all the way down to her hips. Her skin was paler, she had long eyelashes, red rosy cheeks, and full lips. She looked like she was wearing makeup but she wasn't. Her face looked like a young woman's face even though she wasn't even fifteen yet. She always used to wear dresses, skirts, basically anything girly but now she's wearing a basic short sleeve t-shirt, shorts, and flats.
Amy went from an emo girl to a complete goth girl. Her long hair that used to reach all the way down to her knees was now a simple but cute bob. Just like Scarlett's face it looked like a young woman's face and her skin was a bit darker than Naruko remembered. Last but not least her clothes. She wore a black one long sleeve crop top that exposed her stomach and one of her arms, black lace up short jeans, black belt up performance gloves, and black chained boots.
The both of them obviously lucked out in the beauty department. They both looked like they were young women in their early twenties but they were only thirteen.
Once Naruko calmed down she sat down on the bed and asked "how did you guys survive the day everyone in the village were massacred?" Scarlett and Amy just giggled. "Seriously pigtails you didn't actually think that Niles managed to kill every single one of us by himself?" Amy asked. "Naruko It doesn't matter if he was a prodigy he was by himself so it made it a bit easier for us to get away" Scarlett said making Naruko chuckle. "I guess that make sense." Naruko thought about what Scarlett said before realizing. "Wait us? So does that mean that we're not the only ones that survived?" Scarlett and Amy nodded. They then went over to the window and Amy gestured for Naruko to follow them.
Naruko stood up, went over to them, and looked out the window. She was surprised to see that she was in a small village with a couple people that were from the village of light. "After that day the rest of us that survived built this little village so we would have somewhere to stay and we've been doing pretty well with hiding. No one outside the village has found us" Scarlett said looking out the window with a sad smile. Naruko smiled at that thought that a couple of people actually survived the village massacre and escaped with their lives. She then looked at Amy and asked hopeful "what about Shakira, Yuko, Levi, and Damien? Did they survive as well?" Amy frowned, looked, at the ground saddened, and said "only Levi survived. Shakira, Yuko, and Damien didn't make it." No one said anything as tears welled up in Naruko's eyes.
Amy then looked at Naruko and asked "by the way Naruko, where did you go? We tried looking for you but we couldn't find you, it was like you just disappeared." Naruko looked back at Amy. "Well after Niles left I went back to the village hidden in the leaves." "What!" Amy shouted mad and confused. "Why would go back there especially after everything they've do to you?" Naruko looked at Amy with a sad expression. "Amy I was only nine years old. Where else was I supposed to go?" Amy calmed down and Naruko continued. "I know that my life there hasn't been the greatest but what else was I supposed to do? Live in the forest with a good chance at dying. At least I still had an apartment and a few people who cared about me there so I didn't really have a choice." Amy and Scarlett frowned feeling bad for her.
After a bit of silence Naruko smiled and said "but hey believe it or not things have gotten better for me there." Naruko then told them everything that has happened so far. "I'm glad things are better for you then they were back then Kitty" Scarlett said making Naruko smile. "Wow these friends of yours sound like something" Amy said.
Once Amy said friend Naruko thought of a certain friend and her smile immediately dropped. "How's Sasuke? Is he ok?" Naruko asked sounding worried. "Whoa whoa clam down pigtails" Amy said. "There's no need to worry Kitty. Sasuke is fine but he's gonna be unconscious for a while" Scarlett said. Naruko sighed relieved. "Hey is it ok if I stay until he wakes up?" "Of course it is" Scarlett said. "But you're gonna have to stay with me since I have room at my place" Amy said. Naruko nodded.
"Thanks you guys" Naruko said. "For what?" Scarlett asked. "Don't play dumb. I know you guys were the ones who saved me and Sasuke. Amy you were the person who was pinning me down and Scarlett you were the one who gave me the shot in the arm" Naruko said surprising them. "How did you know it was us?" Amy asked. "You're voices gave it away" Naruko said surprising Amy.
"Say Kitty how about we show you around? Since you're gonna be here for a while" Scarlett said. "Sure but can I have my clothes back? I really don't wanna go walking around in a hospital gown" Naruko said. Scarlett giggled and said "well you're clothes were pretty much destroyed so you're gonna have to borrow someone else's clothes until we can make you some new ones." Scarlett looked at Amy. "Can you get her some new clothes? I need to do a quick check up to make sure that she's ok." "Alright." Amy said.
Amy then turned to leave but before she left she turned her head to look at Naruko and said "by the way you'll find your things in the drawer of table beside the bed." She then left. Naruko went over to the bedside table and opened the drawer to see the necklace she made with the ring Kagome gave her, the tiara Amy gave her, her head band, and two hair ties.
Naruko took the hair ties and tied her hair into her usual high pigtails. She also put the necklace around her neck, tied her headband around her forehead, and put the tiara on her head. Scarlett walked up to her and said "go ahead and sit down. I just need to check a few things." Naruko sat back down on the bed and let Scarlett give her a check up.
