CHAPTER 2

Pokémon Emergency

Viridian City

Not long ago, Caleb and Aria started their journey, also they faced two Pokémon Hunters but they managed to beat them, even if Pikachu and Eevee were injured at the attack of a flock of Spearow our two young heroes managed to beat those two hunters. Now in Viridian City, just as the sun was setting, Officer Jenny's voice was heard over the loudspeakers.

"Attention citizens of Viridian City! We have reports of Pokémon thieves in the area! Be on the lookout for suspicious looking characters in the area! Repeat! Be on the- huh?" Officer Jenny was saying until she paused before spotting two kids running to the city, the boy was carrying a Pikachu and the girl was carrying an Eevee. "Speak of the devil?"

"How far is the Pokémon center from here?" Caleb asked.

"About half an hour." Aria answered. "We have to hurry!"

Just as the two kids run past the police booth, Officer Jenny grabs the both of them from behind.

"Hold it! I'm just aware, but where are you two going with those two Pokémon?" She asked them both

Caleb turns to face her.

"Excuse me! Those Pokémon are ours!" Caleb said, hurried. "We're just taking them to the Pokémon center if you don't mind!"

"And I'm showing him the way." Aria added.

"Oh I'm sorry." Officer Jenny apologized. "I thought you two were stealing them. Just show me your ID and you can go."

Caleb's face went blank when he said that Pokémon trainers needed ID.

"Uh... ID? I don't really have one, I just got here from Pallet Town and..." Caleb was explaining.

"Pallet Town?" Officer Jenny asked Caleb who nodded to confirm it. "You're the fourth boy to come here from Pallet Town."

"Fourth?" Caleb asked as he had a dreaded thought on his mind. "Aw man, Gary Oak was already here."

Aria looked at Caleb with a puzzled wondering if he's related to Professor Oak.

"You know, it's kinda unusual for someone to carry a Pokémon instead of a Pokéball." Officer Jenny pointed out. "Especially when you don't have any identification. How do I know that you didn't steal that Pokémon?"

She then sets her sights on Aria.

"And what's the story with you, young lady?" The officer asked the blue-haired girl.

"I'm actually from this city, Officer Jenny." Aria explained. "Have you heard about the two children who beat two Pokémon Hunters three years ago? Those two are us, but recently we faced two other Pokémon Hunters with a flock of Spearow, they even tried to kill us."

Aria gave a general description of the Pokémon Hunters while Officer Jenny nodded as she understood the situation they ended up in and the officer instantly recognized them.

"Pokémon Hunters with Spearow. It has to be them again. I've been after them for weeks. I'll be adding an attempt of murdering to the list of crimes." Officer Jenny said.

"And they're the reason why Pikachu and Felicity are like this." Caleb said before adding. "I would never steal a Pokémon. I'm being completely honest! I need to get Pikachu to the Pokémon Center! Please!"

"What is that in your pocket?" Officer Jenny asked, noticing the Pokédex in Caleb's pocket.

"Oh, this?" Caleb said, taking out his Pokédex. "It's just my Pokédex."

"Why didn't you just say you had one in your possession?" She asked, swiping the device from Caleb's hand. "The Pokédex is the identification that you need."

Caleb tilted his head as he now realizes that his Pokédex was the ID she was talking about as Aria just gave a small giggle to the boy's confusion, but she too was surprised by this outcome.

"But I'm not taking any chances, here." The cop said. "Let's see if you're the real deal."

She pressed a few buttons and the Pokédex started talking.

I am Dexter. A Pokédex programmed by Professor Oak for Pokémon trainer Caleb Ketchum from the town of Pallet. My function is to provide information and advice on his Pokémon training. If lost or stolen, I cannot be replaced.

"Well that's info I could have used earlier." Caleb said before groaning in desperation. "Can we head to the Pokémon Center now?"

"No problem." She said. "I can get you kids there in no time! Besides, it's faster that way."

Caleb and Aria beamed that the pace will be a faster one since they're in such a hurry anyway. She opened the garage door to reveal a police motorcycle with a sidecar and the officer turned to see Aria.

"Now young lady, you'll have to ride in the back with me, since there's no room in the sidecar for two." She told her.

Aria understood as she got on just after the policewoman did while Caleb strapped himself in the sidecar holding Pikachu and Felicity tightly.

"Thank you for this." Caleb said to her.

"Thanks are not necessary." Officer Jenny said. "Just doing my duty."

She revved up the engine as Aria was now holding onto her pretty tight, but too tight since she knows it's going to be quite a rush.

"Sit back, hold on and don't yell." Officer Jenny saud but before Caleb could ask what she meant by that last part, the motorcycle started going off at a rapid pace.

"WHOA!"

As soon as they were gone, a fishing line with hook attached snags a wanted poster showing two people, a woman with long fushia pink hair curled like a comet tail and is wearing green pearl earrings. Another being a man with shoulder length periwinkle blue. And she appears to be holding a red rose. The fishing line is pulled up into a cream colored hot air balloon shaped like a cat's head with what appears to be a gold coin on the head and two whiskers on each side. Two people matching the posters, the full look at them is that they're wearing matching white outfits and black gloves and boots with the letter R on the center. The woman's outfit exposed her midriff and was wearing a short skirt. And with them appears to happen to be a cream colored cat similar to the balloon and with brown patches of fur at the tail and feet.

"A wanted poster, how flattering." The woman said in a sinister-sounding voice.

"Flattering?" The man gasped in a British accent. "I look terrible in this poster!"

"Well you should be thankful that the photographer caught the real you." She told her colleague.

"Exactly." The man said, holding up a rose.

"We'll show these Viridian City bumpkins." She sneered.

"They'll be sorry that they ever saw this face." He finished.

"We're all sorry to see your face." The cat spoke in a Brooklyn accent. "Stay focused! We're on a mission to capture rare and valuable Pokémon."

"How right you are, Meowth." The woman said.

"Of course." The man added.

"And remember, I'm the top cat!" Meowth said.

"If you say so." The man sighed.

"MEOWTH!"

Back to Caleb, Aria, Officer Jenny, Pikachu and Felicity they rode on just as their destination was in sight.

"There it is!" Officer Jenny pointed out and Caleb was amazed at how big the Pokémon Center was, it was bigger than he thought, Aria on the other hand had something to do when they got there. "Just hold on because this is tricky."

"What are you gonna do?" Aria asked, but she got her answer when the motorcycle rode in with the doors sliding open and she came to a screeching halt as they got to the counter. At the counter, who happens to be a pink haired nurse tied in loops.

"Jenny." The nurse said in a strict tone. "You do know we have a driveway, right?"

"Sorry Nurse Joy, but it's a Pokémon emergency!" Officer Jenny told her.

"My Pikachu got injured by Spearow owned by Pokémon Hunters!" Caleb said.

"And so did my Eevee!" Aria added.

"Pokémon Hunters?" Nurse Joy asked.

"Yeah. It has to be those two, I can bet my hat on that." Officer Jenny said and Nurse Joy looked at the two injured Pokémon.

"Oh dear. This looks serious." Nurse Joy said. "Get two stretchers in here!"

Coming in are four Pokémon. They're all round, pink Pokémon. They have stubby arms and legs with no visible digits. They have small black eyes and a mouth with no visible nose. They have three long frills on each side of their heads. They also have a short tail and a pouch with a white egg. Their feet, pouch, and the ends of its frills are a darker shade of pink. These Pokémon are Chansey. Two each are bringing in a stretcher for Pikachu and Angel.

"Chansey." The Chansey said.

"Take these two to the back." Nurse Joy told them.

"Chansey." The Chansey said, taking the patients back and Nurse Joy turned to the two.

"How did you end up in that kind of situation?" Nurse Joy asked.

"It's like this. I was taking a nature walk along with my Eevee, Angel, and that's when we came across a Caterpie in the cage. We both got her out, and that's when they started to chase us and..." Aria was explaining their backstory.

"That's when me and Pikachu bumped into Felicity and also we remet Aria, and we had to run away from those Pokémon Hunters." Caleb said, finishing the backstory.

"That doesn't answer how they got hurt." Nurse Joy said.

"They said those hunters had Spearow. A whole flock of them, is that right?" Officer Jenny asked.

"Yeah. How did you know it was a flock?" Sora asked.

"That was the report I got on them." Officer Jenny said. "But I plan to do a full investigation on it."

But then she realized she left her motorcycle in the lobby.

"Ooh. As soon as I get my motorcycle out of the way." She chuckled nervously.

"Next time, use the driveway, or put it in the parking lot, please." Nurse Joy said as she wasn't amused by how Officer Jenny had to ride in the Pokémon Center like her motorcycle was a big, white horse.

Speaking of which, the policewoman got on and rode the motorcycle out.

"Honestly." Officer Jenny said before looking at the two. "I'll see what I can to help your Pikachu and Eevee, until then, please wait here."

"Okay." Aria said.

"Can do." Caleb added.

Nurse Joy went and joined the Chansey around back.

Pokémon Center

Caleb and Aria sat down in the lobby to wait, but then they heard the doors opening as they turned to see two familiar people for the blue-haired girl.

They were a man with short black hair (the hair turns white at old age) and yellow eyes and he wore small glasses, also a white shirt and a dark blue jacket along with dark blue pants and brown shoes while the woman was a spitting image of Aria, she had the same eye and hair color as she did and wore a white blouse and a light blue long skirt and light tan open toe shoes.

"Aria?" The two people asked her.

"Mom, dad." Aria said before coming to hug her parents, the blue-haired girl has some tears in her eyes.

"What are you doing here?" Aria's mom asked her.

"Felicity and Pikachu, the Pikachu from that boy were injured by my fault." Aria explained a bit tearfully. "I saved a Caterpie from a Pokémon Hunter's cage, then the Pokémon Hunters pursued us to kill us and when I met with Caleb, his Pikachu was injured during the chase but he saved us from those bad people and their Spearow too."

She sniffled but only to receive a patting in her head by her father.

"You were very brave just like the boy." Aria's father told her and then they approached the young Pokémon Trainer and introduced himself. "Say, son, Aria told me about you. My name's Noah, and this is my wife, Alyanna."

"It's nice to meet you," Alyanna said.

"What's your name?" Noah asked.

"I'm Caleb." Caleb introduced himself.

"Caleb? Such a nice name." Alyanna said.

"Thanks." Caleb said, blushing.

"Caleb, I just wanted to thank you for saving our daughter. She means the world to the both of us. I know I would never forgive myself if something were to happen to her." Noah said.

"You're welcome." Caleb said with a nervous smile.

"You don't need to be nervous, Caleb. My husband doesn't bite." Alyanna joked, making Aria giggle. Caleb and Noah both chuckled along with Alyanna.

"Putting my wife's joke aside, I have a feeling there's a little more than you were telling us." Noah pointed out.

Caleb didn't know how to answer. He wondered if Aria's father would believe him if he told him about seeing Pokémon Hunters again on the way over, or that he was making it up.

"I could never fool you, dad." Aria said before turning to Caleb. "You might as well tell them, Caleb."

"Three years ago me and Pikachu when he was a Pichu were able to stop two Pokémon Hunters, but this time two different Pokémon Hunters appeared before arriving here." Caleb explained them.

"Just as I feared." Noah said as Alyanna shared his worries but the two preteen children were lost.

"Just as you feared?" Aria asked.

"Aria, I think it's about time you knew." Alyanna said.

"Knew what?" Aria asked.

"Lately many Pokémon Hunters have been appearing in each region, three years ago there were many of them, the Pokémon Hunters that were here were after the only Pichu that lived in the Kanto region which is very rare here, but every Pokémon Hunter works with the Council of Pokémon Hunters." Noah explained.

"Council of Pokémon Hunters?" Caleb repeated, but not liking the sound of that.

"Yes, their commanders are unknown but that council is really dangerous, they hunt Pokémon, sell those Pokémon to the black market and they kill anyone who gets in their way." Alyanna explained to both children.

"So, that explains why those two hunters were for my Pichu, and I thought it was a coincidence, that should explain why Pikachu when he was a Pichu was following me." Caleb said, now realizing how his first Pokémon ended up meeting his human partner, then he asks them. "By any chance, have you two already faced the Council of Pokémon Hunters?"

"Yes, we remember it like it was yesterday, we had the same age as you and Aria, the boss of the council tried to kill us when we rescued many Pokémon from there, and when he was going down he tried to take me with him but Alyanna rescued me while the boss' fate was sealed, however across the years another boss of the council replaced him and eventually the Pokémon Hunters were appearing nonstop in this endless conflict." Noah explained.

Caleb was still upset because there are more Pokémon Hunters yet, however he decided to change the subject after hearing a serious situation like that.

"I think I'll make a phone call at home. Excuse me." Caleb said before standing up and walked over to the phone.

Alyanna looked at Aria and she smiled, she knew her daughter's in love while Caleb got to the picture phone and dialed his home phone number.

Pallet Town: Caleb's House

In Pallet Town, the picture phone began ringing. Sara was downstairs and she got up.

"I got it!" Sara said before answering the picture phone. "Hello, Ketchum residence, Sara speaking."

"Hey, sis." Caleb said.

"Caleb!" Sara said happily as her twin brother appeared on the screen. "It's good to hear your voice! It's been forever!"

Viridian City: Pokémon Center

Now in the Pokémon Center of Viridian city.

"What do you mean forever? It's only been a day." Caleb said.

"Yes, it feels like forever. Where are you?" Sara asked.

"Viridian City." Caleb said.

"Viridian City already? It took dad about four days to get there." Sara said.

"Really, I didn't know that." Caleb said.

"Neither did I until after you left." Sara said.

"Sara, who's on the phone?" Eva's voice asked, and walking down stairs she was wearing her bathrobe and had her hair wrapped in a towel.

"Mom, it's Caleb." Sara said, causing her mother to yelp in delight and unwrapped the towel and went to the screen.

"Caleb, hello! How are you?" Eva asked.

"I'm doing okay, mom." Caleb said.

"Where are you, Caleb?" Eva asked.

"Caleb's in Viridian City," Sara answered.

"It's true." Caleb said. "I'm at the Pokémon Center right now."

"I'm glad to hear you're doing well for yourself! You're soaring like a proud Spearow!" Eva said.

"If you say so." Caleb said.

"Yes, I say so. Just don't stay up too late, and remember to brush your teeth after every meal, and eat your vegetables." Eva told his son.

"I'll do all those things. Just calling to say hi." Caleb said.

"Oh, Caleb, there is one more thing I want you to have. I forgot to give it to you, so I need you to stay in Viridian City a little longer." Delia said as Caleb was worried if it was another extra pair of underwear.

"Um, okay." He said.

"Now, I'm going to let you go just so you can get ready for bed, but don't forget to eat before bed." She said to her son.

"I won't." Caleb said.

"And be sure to call every once in a while, okay?" Eva asked.

"I'll try." Caleb said.

"I won't keep you. Love you." Eva said.

"Love you too." Caleb said.

"Take care," Sara said and Caleb hung up.

Over to Aria and her parents, they smiled at their daughter, happy and proud of Kairi for it.

"Aria, I take it you're taking a liking to him." Alyanna said as she blushed and looked at her mother.

"Mom, we're not going out or anything. Today we started our journey." Aria said, feeling embarrassed.

"You can't fool us, kiddo. We know love when we see it, and we're seeing it." Noah said.

"Your father's right, honey. I couldn't fool my mom when I fell for your dad, and she couldn't fool hers when she fell for your grandfather." Alyanna said, causing Aria to blush even redder. "It's hard to believe my little girl's becoming a lovely young woman."

"Normally, fathers wouldn't allow their little girls to date until they're old enough to marry, but as a grateful father, I can be cool with it. I mean, Caleb looks like a good kid to me," Noah said.

"Just, what did you think of Caleb when you first saw him?" Alyanna asked.

"I thought he was really cute." Aria admitted while blushing.

"I thought he was really handsome." Alyanna said as she looked right at her daughter.

"Yeah." Aria said before thinking long and hard, she wanted to get to know Sora as much as she could, so she decided to take a stand. "Mom, dad. There's something I wanna tell you now."

"What is it, hun?" Noah asked.

"I decided I wanna go on a Pokémon journey yet." Aria said which surprised her parents.

"You wanna keep going, Aria?" Noah asked. "You didn't forget about what happened, did you, Aria?"

"I didn't forget, and it could have happened to anyone. But I want to go and travel around the Kanto region and see what I can see." Aria stated as her parents looked at each other.

"Aria, what about the Pokémon Hunters?" Noah asked.

"I'm not afraid of them. I got Felicity by my side, and I can catch more Pokémon as well and I'll train with them too." Aria said and her mother smiled right at her.

"You wanna be with Caleb much, much longer, don't you?" Alyanna asked.

"That is the main reason, mom. But I was worried you wouldn't approve." Aria said.

"Honey, you don't need a stamp of approval from us." Noah said.

"Your father's right, dear. And so are you. There are things that are beyond our control. Your grandma would agree with you fully. You should follow your heart." Alyanna said.

This made Aria smile as Caleb came right back.

"Sorry to keep you waiting," Caleb said.

"Who was it that you called, son?" Noah asked.

"Just my mom and sister. They said they're proud of me, and everything. Also, they said there was one more thing my mom forgot to get me. So, I have to wait here just a little longer." Caleb said.

"I understand, Caleb. Where do you live exactly?" Alyanna asked.

"In Pallet Town," Caleb said.

"And it's just you, your mom, and sister?" Alyanna asked.

"Yeah, it is." Caleb said but just when he was about to say more, a ringing sound was heard and he asked. "Now what?"

Caleb walked up to the counter and saw it was the phone on the desk and he looked for Nurse Joy.

"Hello? Nurse Joy? The phone's ringing!" Caleb called her while assuming she was too far to hear him, he pressed the button. "Hello, Pokémon Center here. Who's calling?"

"Good, I got through." A familiar voice spoke and he knew that voice well, it turned out to be Professor Oak, but they were seeing his back. "Hello, Caleb! How have you been on your first day as a Trainer?"

"I think I should be facing you in the front, professor." Caleb said.

"Huh?" Professor Oak asked and he turned and realized that he had the wrong camera active. "Oops! Wrong camera!"

He quickly switched the camera to face everyone properly.

"That's better." He said.

"Professor, why are you calling?" Caleb asked.

"I just got off the phone with your mother, and she told me you're in the Pokémon Center in Viridian City, is that right?" Professor Oak asked.

"Yes, professor," Caleb nodded.

"Wonderful. And have you caught any new Pokémon since you went on your way?" Professor Oak asked.

"I caught a Pidgey and a Rattata." Caleb answered.

"Aw, good. I was worried you didn't have full control over the situation. But at least you're making a much better start than I thought you would." Professor Oak said.

Caleb chuckled nervously as Aria stepped up. "I can see Aria is with you after she received her Eevee."

"Yeah, it's me." Aria said as the professor turned his attention back to Caleb.

"Well anyway, the other three trainers made it there with no problem at all. And I was surprised that you got there so soon. I will admit that I had my doubts about you handling your Pikachu after you left. And when I got off the phone with my grandson Gary said that you wouldn't have a new Pokémon by the time you reached Viridian City. By the time you reached Viridian City I'd bet him a million dollars!" Professor Oak said as Caleb hung his head again knowing that Gary taunts him again even when not present.

"Well, money can't be everything, right?" Caleb tried to joke.

Professor Oak hung his head the same manner as Caleb.

"Oh, why do I even bother?" He mumbled to himself.

Caleb and Aria explained to the professor what happened and how the two of them met, the professor just shook his head in disbelief.

"That is quite a predicament." Professor Oak said. "But at least you're safe now, Aria."

"And it was thanks to Caleb and Pikachu." Aria said as Caleb scratched the back of his head in embarrassment. "I'm going to get us something to eat. Do you want anything?"

"Anything you bring back is fine." Caleb said blushing and chuckling nervously, shutting his eyes.

With that Aria went off to get some food for the both of them as Caleb opened his eyes to see the professor looking at him with a sly grin.

"Well, I can see that you had taken a real shine to her." The professor chuckled, making Caleb's blush even redder. "And that blush confirms my theory! When your mother told me that you had a female companion, I was certain that she was joking. Also I never had you pegged as a knight in shining armor type."

"Ah professor, not you too!" Caleb almost yelled and Professor Oak laughed at the boy's embarrassment.

"I was only kidding, my lad." The professor said, still laughing.

"Well anyway." Sora said, calming down a little. "My mom doesn't know about the poachers' part, so if it's not a big deal; could you..."

"Say no more." Professor Oak said to him. "I wasn't even going to bring that up to her anyway."

Caleb was relieved to hear that he'd be willing to keep such a secret from his mother, but he didn't want the elderly scientist to get in trouble for his sake; but he made his choice.

"Anyway." Caleb said. "Aria and I saw a legendary Pokémon too. She said it was a Pokémon called a Ho-Oh. And it flew over a rainbow."

"Don't talk such nonsense." Professor Oak told the young trainer. "You two couldn't have seen Ho-Oh. Pokémon trainers searched their whole lives for Pokémon like Ho-Oh; but they never actually saw one."

"Well I did." Caleb said. "I know what I saw."

"You must have been mistaken." The Professor said before they heard his doorbell ring. "You'll have to excuse me, Caleb. My pizza has just arrived. COMING!"

He got up and ran offscreen to answer the door and he came back for a brief moment.

"Oh, and it was nice talking to you, Caleb. And give my regards to Aria, too. And do take care." Professor Oak said before leaving the screen again to get the door and his voice is heard offscreen. "Mm, anchovy, spinach, and pineapple pizza; my favorite!"

Caleb gave a disgusted look at the thought of anchovies and spinach on a pizza.

"Spinach and anchovies on pizza." Sora said, grossed out enough that his face almost turned green. "Yuck."

Caleb turned off the phone just in time for Aria to return with some hamburgers, a couple of sodas and apples for Pikachu and Felicity to enjoy, Caleb's stomach growled as he placed his hands on his stomach feeling embarrassed that he skipped breakfast this morning.

"Now you're going." Caleb said in a whisper.

"Had a good talk with the professor?" Aria asked Caleb.

"Yeah I did." Caleb answered.

"I hope that I didn't get you in trouble with him." Aria said with concern but Caleb just shook his head as he smiled.

"No." Caleb said. "He understood the situation with Pokémon and the trainer. Besides, he's really a nice guy despite seeing him look serious most of the time."

"I'm glad." Aria said before giggling.

Then the light on the sign turned off to let them know that Nurse Joy and her Chansey helpers were done, they went up to the stretcher with Pikachu and Felicity out, both Pokémon were sleeping.

"How are they?" Caleb asked.

"Your Pikachu and Eevee have made a full recovery, but they will need to rest for the night," Nurse Joy said.

"That's good." Aria said.

"It'll be best if the both of you stay here for the night. It'll be good for them." Nurse Joy said.

"Thanks." They both said at once before they blushed, Caleb scratching the back of his head while Aria giggled but they were interrupted when the alarms went off.

"Your attention please!" Officer Jenny spoke over the speakers. "The Viridian City radar sensors have detected an aircraft belonging to a gang of Pokémon thieves! If you have a Pokémon in your possession, exercise extreme caution!"

The same hot air balloon is seen hovering over the Pokémon Center, with Jessie, James, and Meowth preparing to launch their attack.

"It looks like we've been spotted." James said.

"Carry on as planned." Jessie said.

"Roger." James said.

They each took out a Pokéball and dropped them from the balloon and straight down and the Pokéballs broke through the glass and opened as soon as they hit the ground. Two Pokémon emerged from inside, an Ekans and a Koffing, but they were trained by Jessie and James.

"Ekansssss!" Ekans hissed.

"Koffing!" Koffing said before releasing a mustard-colored gas from its body, covering the whole lobby.

"Cover your mouths! Don't breathe the smoke!" Noah said, covering his mouth.

"What's going on!?" Caleb exclaimed. "Who are you guys!?"

"We'll be glad to answer that, little boy." The woman said.

"Allow us to introduce ourselves." The man finished and the two people gave their motto as the smoke cleared.

"To protect the world from devastation!"

"To unite all peoples within our nation!"

"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"

"To extend our reach to the stars above!"

"Jessie!"

"James!"

"Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!"

"Surrender now, or prepare to fight!"

Meowth jumps in the scene and finishes this off.

"Meowth! That's right!"

"Did that Meowth just talk?!" Caleb exclaimed in disbelief, pointing his finger.

"Hey, it's rude to point, you know!" Meowth said.

"Seriously, who are you?" Sora asked.

"Judging by their uniforms, they have to be from Team Rocket. A criminal organization that steals Pokémon from Pokémon Trainers. They make money off of rare Pokémon." Noah said.

"So, that makes them thieves." Caleb said.

"And proud to be thieves!" James said.

"So, we're going to swipe every Pokémon in the entire Pokémon Center," Jessie said.

"I'm not letting any of you get away with this!" Caleb said.

*POKÉMON RED AND BLUE MEDLEY/POKÉ FLOATS (SUPER SMASH BROS MELEE)*

"How cute, the boy thinks he's a hero." Jessie mocked.

"Brave or dumb." James shared her opinion.

"I vote for dumb!" Meowth said.

"Koffing, Tackle!" James ordered.

"Ekans, use Bite!" Ekans and Koffing lunged at the trio pushing the stretcher as they started to run.

The two poisonous Pokémon destroy the front desk missing their intended targets, biting a few wires and they continued their pursuit only to lose pursuit but they kept looking. They hid in the Pokéball storage room but the lights went out.

"Now what?" Caleb asked.

"They must have cut the power," Nurse Joy explained. "But luckily for us, our backup generator will kick right in now."

Then the lights come back on.

"We have got to get the Pokémon out of here." Caleb said. "If only we could just get out without them seeing us."

"We can come in here." Nurse Joy said before going to the nearby computer and turning it on to make contact with the Pokémon Center in Pewter City. "This is the Viridian City Pokémon Center! We have an emergency situation! Transporting Pokéballs!"

A feminine voice similar to Nurse Joy's is heard on the computer.

"This is the Pewter City Pokémon Center! We are ready to receive Pokéballs. "Activating transportation sequences now!" Another Nurse Joy said and the Pokéballs were teleported one at a time.

They kept them coming until smoke seeped through the door before Ekans and Koffing broke down the door and Koffing smacked the counters causing the Pokéballs to fall off the counters and on the floor.

"Grab those Pokéballs!" Noah said.

"So this is where you've hiding." Jessie said.

"You're too late, because some of the Pokéballs have been teleported out of here!" Caleb before taking out a Pokéball and held it tight. "And you three are toast!"

"You think you can beat us? You're even stupider than you look." James said.

"I'm just getting started, go Pidgey!" Caleb called out.

Pidgey came right out of his Pokéball, but Ekans glares at Pidgey making it scared and flies off, then Caleb calls Pidgey back and grabs another one.

"Did you think that pathetic little Pokémon could beat us?" Jessie asked sarcastically as she snickered.

Caleb took out another Pokéball and threw it.

"It's your turn, Rattata!" Sora called out.

Rattata prepares to fight but he was intimidated by the snake Pokémon before it, Caleb pulls that one back as well, but he wasn't going to back away just because of a few mishaps, causing Jessie and James to laugh but Caleb's blood was boiling.

"Throw whatever Pokémon you want at us." Jessie said.

"None of those weaklings can beat us." James said.

"Try me out for size." Alyanna said, taking out a Pokéball. "Go!"

The Pokéball opened and revealed a fishlike Pokémon with large, heavy reddish-orange scales. It has large, vacant eyes and pink lips, its pectoral and tail fins are white, on its back is a stiff, three-peaked yellow fin, resembling a crown; there is an identical fin on its underside, this Pokémon is known as Magikarp who just splashed around.

"Karp, karp, karp, karp." Magikarp said, splashing around.

"Oops, I forgot Magikarp can't do anything but splash around." Alyanna said.

"You have got to do a whole lot better than that, you old hag." Jessie said but Aria didn't like how Jessie insulted her mother.

"Don't you talk to my mom like that, you old lady!" Aria snapped at Jessie.

This made Jessie angry as a cross or Y-shaped intersection of veins appeared on her forehead.

"What did you just say to me?" Jessie asked, getting angry at what Aria called her and Caleb then got an idea.

"She said you're an old lady and she's right, you are." Caleb said and this got Jessie even angrier. "Also, those are the cheesiest outfits that I had ever seen."

Caleb's comment caused more veins to bulge on their heads.

"What?" James growled.

"And who are you? The fashion police?!" Jessie asked, making her anger grow. "What about YOUR own clothes, hm?"

"I like my attire just fine, thank you very much." Caleb answered before retaliating with words. "I mean don't tell me you two still go trick or treating at your age! I mean those are outfits? They're more like Halloween costumes."

Caleb laughed causing their anger to grow more.

"And look at you." Caleb pointed to Jessie who grew more angrier and angrier when Caleb started to chuckle mockingly. "I mean, what's with the hair?"

Caleb chuckled at the woman's hair, Noah saw what Caleb was doing.

"And what about your dull brown hair, you brat?" Jessie countered back.

"My hair is just fine." Caleb admitted. "But your hair looks like that you've been standing in front of the world's largest blow dryer!"

Caleb laughed again and Jessie's face started to turn red and she started to grit her teeth, her eyes started to burn with the fire of anger as Meowth just covered his mouth trying to hold his laughter at each of Caleb's jokes.

"Also, what kind of name is Team Rocket, anyway?" Sora joked making fun of the organization. "That sounds more like a lame idea for a sports team or a name for a geeky science club."

Caleb started laughing right at the two adults, Jessie especially who just reached her limit.

"HOW DARE YOU!" Jessie roared. YOU'LL PAY FOR YOUR INSOLENCE YOU LITTLE INGRATE! EKANS! KOFFING! MEOWTH! GET THAT TWERP!"

Caleb went for Pikachu's stretcher.

"Catch me if you can!" Caleb mocked while he was running.

Ekans, Koffing, Jessie, James, and Meowth started chasing after him as Noah just laughed.

"I'm actually liking that kid a whole lot more." Noah said, laughing some more.

Caleb kept on running as Jessie, James, Meowth, Ekans and Koffing gave chase, he came to a screeching halt and at the sudden stop woke up Pikachu, he looked at what was going on as Team Rocket had caught up with him.

"You got nowhere to run, twerp." James said.

"Nobody disrespects Team Rocket and walks away." Jessie said.

Caleb thought of using Pikachu but it could be a risk since he is still recovering, but then his electric rodent-like Pokémon got up and stood in front of Sora.

"Pikachu, what are you doing?" Caleb asked.

"Pika, Pika, Pikachu." Pikachu said as he turned to Team Rocket.

"You think you can take us all on your own, you yellow runt? Don't make me laugh." Jessie said, laughing mockingly as Pikachu emits electricity from his cheeks. "Ekans! Use Wrap!"

"Koffing! Tackle!" James ordered.

Ekans and Koffing came for Pikachu, but he fought back, giving Ekans and Koffing the shock of a lifetime, even Jessie, James and Meowth end up being shocked as well.

*ENDS*

Aria, Felicity, Aria's parents, and Nurse Joy came and watched with awe, also woke up Felicity and her cheeks turned pink as she watched the Mouse Pokémon shock the two people and three Pokémon while Pikachu kept on shocking them until Officer Jenny arrived by motorcycle and she grinned.

"So, Team Rocket. It looks like it's my lucky night," Officer Jenny said, taking out a pair of handcuffs as the Team Rocket looked right at the policewoman. "You are under arrest for Pokémon theft."

Team Rocket suddenly got up and ran.

"Not if we have anything to say about it!" James said.

"Bye!" Jessie added.

"Team Rocket's blasting off!" Team Rocket shouted.

"Come back here! Stop in the name of the law!" Officer Jenny shouted after them while Caleb bent down to Pikachu.

"You okay, Pikachu?" Sora asked.

"Pika, Pi!" Pikachu said, climbing up on his shoulders and Caleb chuckled.

"That was an awesome Thunderbolt. From now on, we'll be an unbeatable team. What do you say?" Caleb asked and Pikachu smiled.

"Pikachu," Pikachu said.

Aria, Felicity, Noah and Alyanna watched on as both Trainer and Pokémon bond with each other.

Viridian City: Streets

Out in the streets, somehow, Team Rocket has lost Officer Jenny and they panted.

"Who would have thought one Pikachu had so much power?" James asked as he panted.

"That is no ordinary Pikachu, that I can tell you." Meowth panted.

"The perfect Pokémon for the boss!" Jessie said, causing James and Meowth to look at her.

"What do you mean, Jessie?" Meowth asked.

"Yeah, fill us in." James added.

"Use your heads, you fools. We were hit with the most powerful Electric-type move ever, and so that makes that Pikachu the perfect Pokémon for Team Rocket. The boss will have to appreciate us when we present it to him, and not only he will give us a raise, but a badass promotion! Possibly to agents, executives, or vice presidents of Team Rocket!" Jessie said and then James and Meowth grinned.

"Yeah, I can be back on the boss's lap again!" Meowth said, laughing while James stroked his chin.

"Wait, wouldn't one of us be vice president since there could be only one?" James asked.

"Who cares? Pikachu will be ours!" Jessie said.

"You're right," James said.

"We should head back to the balloon and make plans!" Jessie said.

"In case you haven't been catching up with current events, we left the balloon behind, remember? Also, the cops would have deflated it and took it with them-" Meowth said.

"Then, we'll have to wing it!" Jessie said. "Let's go!"

Then Team Rocket dashed off.

Aria's House

Meanwhile, Caleb and Pikachu were invited to Aria's house for the night. Caleb got to join his family for dinner, even though it was late, it didn't matter since his mom told him to eat before he slept, but he had to be careful not to eat too much or he'd get nightmares. Alyanna and Aria made some spaghetti, Caleb ate the spaghetti and he found it to his liking.

"You must be really hungry, Caleb." Alyanna said.

"This is really tasty. Just like when my mom makes it." Caleb said.

"Thank you, Caleb. Aria insisted on helping. She made the sauce." Alyanna said.

"The best I have ever tasted." Caleb said, making Aria to smile.

"I'm glad you enjoyed it so much, Caleb." Aria said, gladly, that she learned the way to win a man's heart is through his stomach.

"Aria sure has a talent. I don't mean to brag, but I can make a mean beef and potato stew." Noah said.

"It's true. My dad is quite a cook himself." Aria said.

"Now, Aria. You said it's just you, your mother, and your sister. What about your father?" Noah asked and Caleb sighed sadly.

"I met him but it was not for long." Caleb said, causing Aria and her parents to look at him.

"Not for long? What do you mean?" Noah asked.

"The thing is, my dad was killed in a car accident just when me and my sister were 3 years old. Ever since then, it has been just the three of us. We were told about him though. We saw their wedding pictures and saw their wedding video." Caleb explained as Aria felt sorry for him, someone who met a parent a few years wasn't right nor fair to her.

"I'm sorry to bring up such a painful question." Alyanna said.

"Don't worry about it. I figured I was going to be asked that question at some point." Caleb said.

"Caleb, might I ask if you have something from your father?" Kairi asked which peeked her parents' interest.

"I was curious about it, too." Mirei said.

"Oh right." Caleb said before pulling out a necklace which has the symbol of "S" lying horizontally. "This necklace is a symbol of knighthood, it belonged to my father."

"Knighthood?" Aria and Alyanna asked.

"As in an actual knight, Caleb?" Noah asked.

"Yeah. I came from a long line of knights in the old days. The boys in the family all wore one of these. The people often saw them as knights as well when they wore them." Caleb explained.

"I see." Alyanna said as she saw Caleb as her knight in shining armor all right.

Not only did he save her daughter and fought against two Pokémon Hunters, but he also helped the Pokémon from their would-be captors.

"But no one really believes that stuff anymore." Caleb said.

"Actually, I do, Caleb." Aria said and Caleb looked at her. "You were very brave when you were younger, you fought against two Pokémon Hunters, you saved me from those Pokémon Hunters today, and you saved all those Pokémon from Team Rocket, so you're definitely a knight in my book."

"I agree with her." Alyanna said. "You're a brave boy. Most parents would be scared for their children having to fight monsters, but you faced those awful criminals. You're a hero."

Her words made Caleb blush.

"Now, now, no more of this hero talk. Let's keep eating before our spaghetti gets cold." Noah said.

"Right." Caleb, Aria and Alyanna nooded.

Alyanna and Aria giggled as it made Caleb sound like he was part of the family and after dinner, Caleb washed up and dressed in some guest pajamas and he wondered one thing.

"I wonder if those two Pokémon Hunters were captured." Caleb said to himself before going to bed.

Prison

Just as the protagonist said, the two Pokémon Hunters from before were captured and imprisoned.

"Not fair… not fair!" Pokémon Hunter #1 said.

"We lost sight of that Pikachu and that Eevee…!" Pokémon Hunter #2 added.

"And we would have gotten them if it hadn't been for those meddling kids!" Pokémon Hunter #1 said, blaming Caleb and Aria.

Viridian City: Pokémon Center

The very next morning, Caleb, Aria and their two Pokémon got up, ate breakfast, and headed out to the Pokémon Center once they had gotten cleaned up and dressed.

They didn't wait long as Sara walked down the streets. With her is a slim young girl with fair skin and long blonde hair that she holds back with a green headband. She wore an extremely modest outfit that consisted of a white short-sleeved blouse, a very long green dress that almost reached her shins, long white socks, and green shoes.

"Sara, hey!" Caleb greeted his sister before she ran to hug him but she squeezed him tight. "Sara, I can't breathe!"

"I just miss you, big brother!" Sara said before letting go of him as the other girl smiled.

"Hey, Daisy." Caleb greeted.

"Hello, Caleb. I'm happy to see you." Daisy said.

"Here's what mom forgot to give you." Sara said before taking out a smartphone. "Mom thought it would be a good idea if you kept one with you."

"Thanks." Caleb said, taking the phone.

Sara and Daisy looked at Aria.

"You must be Aria." Daisy said.

"Yes, but who are you?" Aria asked.

"Aria, meet Daisy Oak. She's Professor Oak's granddaughter. And the girl is my twin sister, Sara." Caleb said, introducing both groups. "Sara, Daisy, this is Aria, but you already know that, Daisy. And this is Felicity, her Eevee."

"Oh, how cute." Sara cooed.

"Hello." Aria greeted.

"Do you still have your Pokédex and Pokéballs sent to me from my grandfather?" Daisy asked.

"Yeah, and I'm ready." Aria told her.

"Okay then, this journey is gonna be worth it when we travel together." Caleb said.

"Together?" Sara asked before looking between them and grinned. "Oh, I get it. You make a nice couple."

Suddenly Caleb and Aria blushed.

"Cut it out, Sara! It's nothing like that!" Caleb said.

"Why are you blushing?" Sara teased. "Sora's got a girlfriend! Sora's got a girlfriend!"

"That's enough, Karen. You shouldn't tease your brother like that." Daisy said. "Good luck in your journey, you two."

"Thanks, Daisy." Caleb said.

"So, before you go, do you mind if I talk to Caleb?"

"Not at all." Aria said and Daisy took Caleb by the shoulder and walked. "Caleb, I have to say, she's really pretty."

"I'll say." Caleb said, referring to Aria.

"I always said you would be very handsome, Caleb." Daisy said, causing Caleb to blush. "And I want to say, you and her look cute together."

Her words made Caleb blush even redder as Daisy giggled.

"I know you just met, but I wanted you to know what I think." Daisy said.

"I appreciate it, Daisy." Caleb said. "Be sure to be nice to her, okay?"

"I will, Daisy." Caleb said and both hugged each other.

Aria's House

Just after the two girls walked back to Pallet Town as Caleb, Aria, Pikachu, and Felicity headed for Aria's house.

"Ooh, mom is gonna bust a button when I tell her Caleb has a girlfriend." Sara said in her thoughts and she giggled to herself.

Meanwhile with Caleb, Aria and their two Pokémon made it to the house with Aria's parents waiting for them.

"Caleb, Aria, I just wanted to say, good luck out there on your way." Noah said.

"We hope you have a grand adventure." Alyanna said.

"We hope so, too, mom." Aria said.

"And Caleb, there's one more thing I want to tell you before I forget. There's going to be a tournament going on known as the Pokémon League. You can register for that if you're interested. If you are, I suggest you do it now before you forget." Noah suggested him.

"That sounds like fun. Why not?" Caleb said, thinking of registering for the Pokémon League.

"Aria, I have packed you some supplies. Be sure to contact us." Alyanna said.

"I will, mom, dad." Aria said. "And thank you for letting me do this."

"You're welcome." Alyanna said. "And one more thing I want to give you, Caleb."

"Yeah?" Caleb asked but then Alyanna gave him a kiss on the forehead and Caleb blushed. "Aw."

"Thank you again." Alyanna said.

"Take care and be careful." Noah said.

"And be sure to catch some cute Pokémon, Aria." Alyanna said.

"I will. Bye, mom! Bye, dad! Love you both!" Aria said.

"Love you, too." Her parents said at once.

Pokémon Center

Caleb, Aria, Pikachu and Felicity made a stop for the Pokémon Center to register for the Pokémon League.

"Hello, Caleb. Back so soon?" Nurse Joy asked.

"We're making one last stop before we go. I was told I could register for the Pokémon League, is that right?" Caleb asked.

"Yes." Nurse Joy answered. "Are you both registering?"

"I'm not going to, but if he is, then he should." Caleb said.

"Very well. May I see your Pokédex, please?" Nurse Joy asked, then Caleb handed the nurse his Pokédex and it took a few seconds to register Caleb in. "Congratulations, you now qualify to participate in the Pokémon League."

"Great. What do I have to do?" Caleb asked.

"To enter the tournament, you must go through the entire Kanto region, and challenge the Pokémon Gyms in the cities and towns and win. And if you win, you will be rewarded a Gym Badge as proof of your victory at the Gym. You must have a total of 8 Gym Badges. Each Gym will be using a specific type of Pokémon." Nurse Joy explained.

"Wow, that sounds hard." Caleb said.

"It is, but given time, you can accomplish so much. Currently, the Viridian City Gym is closed at the moment, but the nearest Gym is in Pewter City." Nurse Joy said.

"Pewter City, got it." Caleb said.

"To get there, you two will have to venture through the Viridian Forest. You might find some more Pokémon to catch. Good luck, Caleb, Aria. And take care." Nurse Joy said.

"Thank you." Caleb said.

"We'll see you soon." Aria said.

And so begins the long and difficult journey of being a Pokémon Trainer. Caleb and Aria along with Pikachu and Felicity, they will have all sorts of adventures and/or misadventures together. They will meet all sorts of Pokémon, and meet all kinds of people. And their first step begins in the Viridian Forest.
