Chapter 10
Celebratory Drinks
The following two weeks were spent doing practice tests, reviewing the hardest concepts, studying case reviews, and spending hours and hours and hours either in the study hall, their apartments, or Alex's office hours. And just like clockwork, on the Thursday night before the test, Olivia decided to pop in during the last 30 minutes to see Alex.
"Hey, Olivia! I wondered if you'd be coming tonight," Alex greeted, immediately moving all of her papers aside as she focused on Olivia.
"Hey Alex! Well of course, I couldn't miss our quality Thursday time together," Olivia chuckled, leaning back in the chair, her hands behind her head.
"How sweet of you," Alex teased with a smile. "But, shouldn't you be studying for the test tomorrow young lady?"
"Nah, I've studied nearly every day the past 2 weeks. I need a brain break. Don't want to over do it." Olivia leaned back and stretched, letting out a yawn. She declined to tell Alex that she was actually meeting Elliot and Amanda afterwards for a last minute study session.
"That makes sense. So, how are things?"
Olivia shrugged. "They're good. How're things with you?"
Mimicking Olivia's response, Alex shrugged before saying, "they're good," followed by both of them laughing. "And how's the dating department? You ever talk to that girl yet about your feelings?" Alex inquired.
"Uhh, no. I haven't. But things seem to be going pretty well, actually."
"Oh, I'm glad to hear that," Alex said, her voice less enthusiastic than she intended it to be.
"Yeah. I think you might be right, after all."
Alex lifted an eyebrow at Olivia, waiting for her to continue.
"She may surprise me. I actually think there's a chance she likes women. But, I'm just afraid she doesn't know it yet." Olivia made sure to stare directly in Alex's eyes afterwards, as if to silently plead for her to understand she was the one Olivia was referring to.
Staring back, Alex suddenly felt her heart beat a little faster. Startling herself at the feeling, she adjusted her body just a bit as she broke the eye contact.
"Oh. Well, that's a good sign, right?" Alex choked out, trying to play off whatever the hell her body was doing to her.
"Yeah, it is, I think. I just can't wait to see if I'm right. I've been dreaming about kissing her for weeks." Olivia again made intense eye contact with Alex as she tucked her thumb into the corner of her mouth, chewing on it just lightly.
For whatever reason, unbeknownst to Alex, her body again reacted to Olivia's words. She felt a slight pull of her lower abdomen, which then seemed to travel lower; right between her legs. Shifting in her chair, she did her best to maintain her composure as she carried on the conversation.
"Hmm. Well, you never know. She might end up feeling the same way as you," Alex said, her voice wavering.
Alex. What on Earth are you doing? Please, get a hold of yourself. This is your student.
Olivia flashed a smirk as she adjusted in her own seat. "I think she does. I think she's really curious to know what it's like to kiss another woman."
Again.
Alex felt another wave of emotion soar through her, first starting in her stomach before again settling heavier between her legs. Then panic started to wash over her – a myriad of feelings, mostly fear and confusion.
"Uhh," Alex choked out, before clearing her throat. "You know, s-she m-might be. I guess you won't know unt –"
But before she could finish, her cellphone began to ring. Looking down at the screen, it was Casey. Alex had never been more thankful for her best friend's timing.
"Excuse me," Alex said, picking up the phone to answer.
Just before she slid her thumb over, Olivia stood up.
"Don't worry about it, Alex. I think," Olivia paused to yawn and stretch, her shirt lifting just a bit to reveal her tanned and toned abdomen. "I'm gonna go get some sleep before the test. I'll see you tomorrow."
Alex blinked a few times before finally choking out a goodbye as Olivia walked out. She didn't even realize she had missed Casey's call until her phone began ringing a second time.
Swallowing thickly, Alex answered the phone. "Hello?"
"What up, my favorite law professor?"
"Uhh, n-not much."
"Woah, what's up with you? You sound nervous."
Alex took a deep breath to calm herself. "Nothing, Casey. Just – caught off guard is all. Tired from preparing for this test tomorrow."
And… aroused. By our… student? But let's leave that out, shall we?
"You know, you work too much. You always have."
"Yeah," Alex said, giving a chuckle. "I know."
"Which, is why I wanted to call you, actually. Me. You. Tomorrow. Drinks. Just like old times."
"Oh. Well, Casey, I've got the test, and then Trev –"
"Your test is online, multiple choice, in class. It automatically grades the test after they're done. And I already called Trevor. He agreed with me that it would be a great idea for me to get you out of your office."
Alex sighed. "Fine. Just text me the place and time."
"You know I will! Love you, darling."
"Love you too, Casey. Bye."
Alex sighed again, resting her head in one of her hands as she returned to some of the papers in front of her, silently begging herself to get over whatever these feelings inside of her were.
The next evening, Alex slipped into a seat at the bar towards the front door. She took out her phone and sent a text to Casey.
Alex: Hey, Casey. I'm here at the bar.
She then ordered herself a glass of wine as she waited, scrolling through her phone. And after just a couple of minutes scrolling, she received a reply.
Casey: Hey babes! I'm on my way, but there's a road block. Might be a bit before I get there.
Alex: Okay.
Sighing to herself, Alex decided that she would pull up her classes' online portal and review the grades. She figured that this would be the best way for her to pass the time.
Little did Alex know, at the opposite end of the bar, in the back at some standing tables, were none other than Olivia, Elliot, Amanda, and several other of her students; celebrating the scores they received on the test.
"We made it, guys," Elliot said, draping his arms around both Olivia's and Amanda's shoulders. "We got through the first unit."
"Not to mention," Olivia started, swigging some of her beer. "You fucking passed. What was your score again?" She turned to look at Elliot, flashing him a giant smile.
She knew his score. Elliot had only mentioned it about 20 times at this point. But he was so excited, and she wanted him to continue to live up the moment.
"I got an 86. And, that isn't even including our bonus points. So, I really got a 96. A freaking 96!"
Amanda and Olivia, hyping him up, began clapping, whistling, and cheering, which seemed to only make Elliot blush as he flashed a toothy grin.
"I'm really proud of you," Olivia said, wrapping her arm around him and patting his back.
"Yeah, me too," Amanda said, repeating the same action.
"Thanks, ladies. And I'm proud of you two, too. The bonus puts you both over 100, right?"
"Yup!" Olivia said, Amanda nodding in agreement.
As Elliot leaned in to squeeze the both of them into a hug, his eyes wandered to the front of the bar, where he caught a glimpse of Alex.
"Ho-ly shit," Elliot said, drawing out each syllable.
"Hmm?" Olivia sounded, finishing off the rest of her beer.
"Don't make it obvious. Professor Hottie, 11 o'clock."
Immediately shooting her eyes up, Olivia scanned the front of the bar, catching sight of Alex, whose attention was focused solely on her phone.
"No way," Olivia said in a whisper, watching Alex intently.
Handing her a shot, and speaking so quietly that no one else could hear them, Elliot said, "Here. Take this, and go shoot your shot."
"What?" Olivia said surprised, turning to look at Elliot with an eyebrow turned.
"You heard me. Take some of this liquid courage, go talk to that hot piece of ass, and shoot your shot."
"Elliot…" Olivia grumbled, taking the shot from him.
"Go for it, Olivia," Amanda agreed, sliding her the glass of the whiskey she was drinking.
Olivia only stared at them both, flicking her eyes back and forth between them.
"Oh come on, we see how you two talk to each other. She obviously is very comfortable with you," Amanda said.
Turning to look back at Alex again, Olivia downed the shot before turning back to her friends.
"What if she's here with her boyfriend?"
"I don't see him, do you?" Elliot asked.
"What if he's coming?"
Grabbing at her shoulders, Elliot pulled her from her chair.
"Hey!"
"Come on. Go," Elliot encouraged. "Just go for it."
Sighing, Olivia picked up Amanda's glass of whiskey, took a few gulps, and nodded to them. She then turned back around and began walking towards where Alex was sitting. With every step that she took, she could feel her heart beating faster and harder. But before she really had time to focus on that, or really realizing what she was doing, she was soon next to Alex. Putting her back towards the bar, Olivia leaned back and let her elbows rest on the top of the bar as she turned her head to face Alex.
"Fancy seeing you here," Olivia said, causing Alex to look up from her phone in confusion.
But upon seeing who it was that was talking to her, Alex's expression quickly softened.
"Olivia! What on Earth are you doing here?"
Turning herself around, Olivia slid into the seat next to Alex.
"Ah, you know. Out celebrating with Amanda and Elliot."
"Makes sense," Alex said, lifting her wine glass up to take another sip. "I see Elliot did exceptionally well."
"Yeah, he really did. All that studying really paid off for him," Olivia smiled, signaling to the bartender that she needed another drink.
"Yes, it did. I'm proud of him, you know."
"I bet you are. I am too, of course. So, what brings you here?"
"Well," Alex started, finishing off the rest of her wine. "My friend Casey wanted to take me out for drinks. But, she's running behind in traffic."
"Ah," Olivia said, thanking the bartender for her beer. "Well, at least you don't have to sit here alone now, right?"
"I guess not," Alex smiled.
"And what about your boyfriend? He not big on drinks?"
Alex shook her head. "No, no, no. Just a girl's night."
"Ah," Olivia said again, taking yet another drink before turning to face Alex a little more. "So what're you drinking?"
Alex lifted the empty wine glass. "Cabernet Sauvignon."
Olivia then signaled to the bartender to bring another glass of just that to Alex.
"Olivia, you don't have to do that," Alex said bashfully.
"Nah, don't worry about it. My treat for such a great professor." Olivia instinctively scooted closer to Alex, to a point that could be deemed as more than friendly.
Alex immediately felt herself react; her body stiffening up in nervousness as her stomach swirled. Biting her lip slightly and looking down, Alex lifted her head to Olivia once the wine glass was placed in front of her.
"You really didn't have to do that. It's my pleasure to be teaching what I know."
"And it's my pleasure to be taught by someone as amazing and as beautiful as you, Alex. Your class is my favorite one, you know."
Maybe it was the wine, or maybe it was the atmosphere. Hell, maybe it was just the attention she was getting. But for whatever reason it truly was, Alex was bold in her next statement.
"You know, if I didn't know any better Olivia, I'd say you're flirting with me right now."
Smirking to herself as she drank more of her beer, Olivia leaned in even closer to Alex. And in the softest voice she could manage with Alex still being able to hear her, Olivia said, "And what if I am?"
Those 5 words were like lightning; striking Alex right between her legs. Clutching her wine glass a little harder around the stem, Alex brought it up to her mouth and took a sip before finding the courage to speak once more.
"Then I'd say that this is not an appropriate conversation that we should be having."
Alex knew this was the truth. But once she said these words, she couldn't help but be more than disappointed in herself. Luckily for this side of her, Olivia wasn't buying it.
"Hmm. Your mind is saying that, sure, but your body isn't."
Finally looking at her to make eye contact, Alex asked, "What do you mean by that?"
Olivia again leaned in closer to Alex. So close in fact, that they were just inches apart. "The way you're gripping that glass. The way you're tensing up. Definitely the way your thighs got closer together when I admitted to flirting with you. I'd say you liked that, Alex. More than you're willing to tell me."
Alex swallowed hard as she had to bite the inside of her cheek to not make a sound at the crudeness of Olivia's words.
"Olivia," was all Alex finally said, barely louder than a whisper; her body on absolute fire.
But before she could continue or even think to say anything else, a text popped up from Casey.
Casey: Parking now, be inside in just a minute, love!"
"Your friend?" Olivia asked, sucking down the rest of her beer.
Alex only nodded.
Standing up, Olivia's body was practically pressed up against Alex's as she stood between their respective bar stools. In a bold move, placing her hand just on the top of Alex's exposed knee, she spoke again.
"I'll leave you to it, then. Have a nice evening, Alex."
Olivia let her fingers trail just slightly up the outside of Alex's thigh before she made her way back to the back of the bar with her friends, Alex watching her every step.
"Jesus Christ, what in the hell just happened?" Alex whispered to herself, throwing back the rest of her glass of wine. As soon as she sat the glass down on the bar top, Casey slid in the seat next to her. Greeting Alex, she signaled for two glasses of wine for them.
"Holy shit," Olivia said, leaning against the standing table next to Amanda. "Holy shit, holy shit, holy shit."
"Dude, what?" Amanda asked concerned. Surveying Olivia's face, she could see the terror that was present in all of her expressions. "Are you okay?"
"What happened?" Elliot said, noticing Olivia was back.
"Uhh, I… I can't believe I just did that."
"What did you do?!" Elliot asked, grabbing Olivia's arm and shaking her.
"I definitely just openly flirted with our fucking professor."
"Haven't you already been doing that?" Amanda questioned.
"Yeah, but… not like this. She knows, now. Fuck." Olivia rested her face in her hands for a few moments before readjusting then so that she was covering her mouth with both hands.
"Well? What happened?" Elliot asked.
Olivia shook her head. "Nothing."
"Nothing? Then why are you freaking out?" Amanda also asked.
"I just… God, I was so forward with her. Holy shit."
"How did she react?" Elliot asked, sliding his beer over to Olivia.
Bringing the beer up to her lips, Olivia slowly began drinking it as she let her eyes wander to the front of the bar. Once there, her eyes once again met Alex's. She could see the way Alex reacted; stiffening her shoulders and biting the bottom corner of her lip before breaking the eye contact and looking down into her wine glass.
"Olivia?" Elliot pried, snapping some fingers in front of her face.
"Uhh. She didn't, really. I think she was just in shock."
Olivia declined to tell them everything she noticed about Alex's body language. It was probably for the best that they thought nothing happened.
At the front end of the bar, Alex could barely pay attention to anything that Casey was saying. All she could do was sip her wine, nod, and replay all of the interactions she'd had with Olivia.
Because she has a boyfriend… she's out of my league, anyways… it would never work, in a hundred years… I've been dreaming about kissing her for weeks… I think she's really curious to know what it's like to kiss another woman…
"Oh my God," Alex whispered to herself.
"What?" Casey said, staring at Alex intently.
"Uhh, nothing, nothing. Sorry, Casey."
"No, what's up with you? You seem… off. And who do you keep looking at?" Casey said, craning her neck to look towards the back of the bar where people were dancing, drinking, and talking.
Alex sighed. "I'm sorry, really. I'm feeling pretty distracted lately. And well, some of my students are here in the back."
"Oh," Casey said, trying to see who Alex was talking about. "Show me! Oh wait, I recognize that kid. He came in that day I was there."
"Yes, that's Elliot. The blonde with him is Amanda, and the brunette is Olivia."
"And who is that other blonde with the brunette?"
Searching the back of the bar, Alex's eyes landed on some girl that was very obviously flirting with Olivia. She was very closely pinned between Olivia and the table, one hand resting on her shoulder as they laughed.
"Umm. I don't know who she is," Alex said, trying her best to mask the jealousy that was now coursing through her.
Casey shrugged as she finished her wine. "Okay, order us two more. I'll be right back. I need the bathroom."
Nodding, Alex signaled to the bartender to bring two more glasses of wine, even though she didn't think that was really the best idea. She was already feeling considerably tipsy. Which, she decided, is why Olivia was affecting her so badly.
Yeah, that was it. The wine, she told herself; completely disregarding how she felt the previous night in her office, and every other interaction leading up to now.
Looking up again, as some slow song played in the bar, Alex could see that Olivia was now dancing with this girl. Her arms were wrapped around her waist, the girl's arms wrapped around her neck as they slow danced closely. But Alex wasn't watching long before Olivia once again met her stare.
Smirking at Alex, Olivia let her hands trail down from the girl's waist to her ass, visibly giving it a squeeze with both hands. The girl then put her hands on the back of Olivia's head, pulling her down to whisper something in her ear. Whatever she had said made Olivia laugh.
Bringing her eyes back up to Alex, Olivia bent down to trail a line of kisses from the girl's shoulder up to her neck before sticking her tongue out and running it up her neck, all the while never breaking her eye contact from Alex.
Alex knew Olivia was just trying to get a rise out of her.
And it was working.
Alex tore her eyes away from Olivia and chugged all of her new wine glass before shifting in her seat. Alex was suddenly irritated, a plethora of emotions and feelings running through her.
She was jealous, confused, angry, upset, and just plain aroused.
We. Don't. Like. Women, Alex. Especially your student! Get a hold of yourself. You are just a little drunk, and haven't had "quality" time with Trevor in a while. Yes, that's it. That's what we'll do tonight to remedy the situation.
Before long, Casey came back from the bathroom. Alex completely rotated herself around in her seat, putting her back to Olivia. She figured out of sight, out of mind. And Alex spent the rest of her time at the bar completely distracting herself from Olivia, her thoughts, and the incessant throbbing between her legs.
Once inside the brownstone, Alex dropped nearly all of her things by the door. Hearing the commotion, Trevor peeked his head around from the kitchen into the foyer.
"You okay, Alex?"
Not saying anything, Alex made a beeline towards Trevor, grabbing the sides of his face and pulling him in for a hungry kiss as she backed him up against the refrigerator.
Breaking away after the kiss, Trevor said, "Hello to you too." He then wrapped his arms around Alex's midsection, holding her to him as he gave her more kisses.
Wanting to speed things up, Alex dropped her hand from Trevor's face and slid it down his torso, stopping at the front of his sweatpants. She then squeezed his member through the fabric, smiling when she heard him let out a soft grunt.
"Jesus, Alex. You're being very forward tonight."
She squeezed him again as she sunk her teeth lightly into his neck, causing him to groan out once more.
"Just shut up and fuck me, Trevor."
He then grabbed Alex by her hips, lifting her up and sitting her on the edge of the kitchen island, his mouth immediately darting to hers in hot and wet kisses; tongues brushing against each other as he places himself between Alex's parted legs.
He reluctantly breaks away from her mouth to trail kisses across her jaw and down her neck as he palms her breasts through the fabric of her dress. He then reaches behind her, unzipping her dress and pulling it down just enough to expose her petite breasts to him; immediately taking one of her rosy pink nipples into his mouth.
Alex moaned out at the feeling, dipping her head back so that she could push herself further towards his touch. She then lifted her legs, wrapping them around him and pulling him closer until she could feel his bulge pressing against her lower half.
Breaking away from her breasts, he put his hands at the hem of her dress, pushing it upwards until it was above her hips. He then grabbed at the waistband of her panties, pulling them off as he brought her closer to the edge of the counter.
Kneeling down, he then began planting quick and wet kisses up her thighs, directly towards her center where he immediately darted his tongue out, pressing it against her swollen clit.
Grabbing his hair, Alex leaned back on the counter as she let out several moans, relishing in the feeling of his tongue fervently flicking against her.
But as she closed her eyes and let the feeling take over her, the image behind her eyes very quickly changed. What started out as her boyfriend pleasing her, very quickly turned into visions of Olivia; on her knees and staring into her eyes with those chocolate orbs as she lapped at Alex's slit.
The explicit image in her mind sent shivers down her spine, a strong pulse of arousal flowing through her. Grabbing harder at his hair, Alex moaned as she spread her legs further for him. And as he kept licking, her eyes still shut in ecstasy, she couldn't stop her mind from imagining Olivia – bringing her closer and closer to the orgasm that she could feel building inside of her body already.
Because God, was she close. So, so close.
Telling how close she was, Trevor kept his pace, licking and sucking on her clit as he grasped at her shaking thighs, until she was moaning and calling out to the stars above, her orgasm rippling through her.
And as Trevor stood back up, his erection poking prominently through his sweatpants, Alex wasted no time reaching into them to pull out his throbbing member, bringing it to her center.
Wrapping her arms around his shoulders, she held onto him as he wrapped his arms around her waist, pushing himself into her before sliding back out, then ramming into her once more.
Wrapping her legs around his waist, she held him close to her as he continually drew in and out of her, planting sloppy kisses along her neck as he grunted and groaned while fucking her.
Once again closing her eyes as she held onto him, Alex's mind betrayed her once more. Images of Olivia again began filling her mind; her smile, her laugh, her face, the way she touched her knee at the bar. How soft and small her hand felt compared to her boyfriend's. And Alex just couldn't help herself from imagining what that hand would feel like between her thighs, rubbing and fucking her until she was coming undone.
No matter how hard she tried, these intrusive thoughts weren't going away. No matter how hard she focused on the man entering himself inside of her, all she could imagine and think of was Olivia.
And from this point on, she realized she was doomed
